In our league, each team has its own actual field, so there's a natural home field advantage in sense that you get to know the quirks of your own board much better. Sock stripes are definitley hard, especially on the figures where the lower leg is at a low angle to the platform. But I much prefer the look of painted teams to the UniForms. At least the ones I completed.

I've used Solva-Set over Testors enamels without issue. Not sure about other paints, though.

They look great. I was 4 in ‘72, and the dolphins are my first NFL memory. I asked for a Dolphins varsity-style jacket for Christmas, but my grandmother didn’t like the colors so she bought me a Redskins one instead lol. This was in Giants country.

It’s just a name and jersey number as far as your teams are concerned. They are physically different plastic figures on their own bases, right? This isn’t a problem at all, in my eyes at least. So your Dallas defense and your Niners D both have Deion Sanders #21?

I got the 67 big man generic brown with orange figures a while ago. Got some Testors to add details to make them more like the actual Browns. Today I used extra Packers white numbers to finish them. I'm not a Browns fan in any sense, but I do have Bernie Kosar as qb and of course Jim Brown.

Super Bowl two-packs are a great idea. Should also come with a little Lombardi trophy like what GBN sells.

You're right they aren't shown. Maybe shoot them an email? It's a great motor, one would be sufficient, and it just clicks to the underside of the board with magnets. I did make my own remote switch for it using a momentary push-button switch and two regular extension cords.

Bet you measure their weight with ounces, not grams!

I put a GBN electromagnetic motor on my Ultimate (4x2') field and it works great.

I just cut some all-thread rods (3/16” I think?) about 5/8” longer than the distance of the crimp flanges across the field. Thread a nut on from each side followed by a steel washer then a plastic or rubber washer. To be clear, the washers will be able to fall right off so mind them. If your field was assembled with punch crimps (kinda like a plug weld), you’ll have holes in the flange already. If you have a later board, you’ll need to drill pairs of holes opposite each other. Slip one end of the all thread with nuts n washers into a hole far enough so you can do the same with the other end. Then center the rod and turn the nuts outward until there’s some pressure. You want enough outward pressure to remove the crown, but not so much you deaden the vibrations from the motor. Also, when you’re tightening the rods that gravity will help the field drop some—no need to crank on the nuts to get the field flat and tight, especially upside down.

When I painted my Bills team (modern uni), I did a wide red stripe on the sleeve/shoulder. Then painted a narrower white (but still wide) white stripe, and finally put a blue (jersey color) in the middle. Though the red doesn't frame both top and bottom of the white stripes like the actual uniforms do, the touch at the top and the bottom looks much better than just two white stripes. Excuse the crappy leg stripe!

Get steel, not aluminum. The latter is not magnetic.

I too prefer painted figures. And I also agree with your assessment of the UniForms. They have great detail and all, but at the end of they day they still look like stickers on a figure. I tried putting the numbers on last for the first couple guys I did, and then decided to put them on the jersey before removing it from the sheet. It seems better that way, but still not satisfactory. I wish the numerals were die cut instead of on big blocks.
