  1. Those orange helmets are a bridge too far...
  2. I like the look of that game, though the figures are kinda lame. Tudor's 2-plus D figures of the time look better with the two poses.
  3. You'll need to remove the old adhesive first then get some new double-sided mounting tape. Hopefully your moving it around when testing revealed a spot where you want to keep it permanently. Still, I wouldn't get the outdoor/high grade stuff, just in case. Alternately, you could look into epoxying four rare-earth magnets (Harbor Freight) onto the motor. I haven't done this with a regular Tudor motor, but it's how my GBN motor attaches, and it works well.
  4. I let the ball drop on updating this, but we played last night. One game (mine!) got cancelled last minitue as the other coach couldn't make it. The expansion Albany Titans handed Big Blue a loss, winning their second game in a row. The Lions beat the G-Men Broncos at Bills make-up game will be played this weekend. American Conference National Conference Big Blue 1-2 Bills 2-0 Lions 2-1 Broncos 1-1 Titans 2-1 G-Men 1-2
  5. I'm probably too old for that. I know my younger kids (15 & 12) use it.
  6. Funny--my wife was "cleaning" and tried to toss the cardboard grandstands that came with my 620 and 610 games. Luckily I noticed that they were gone right away and was able to recover them.
  7. Just get a couple friends over for beer and a few games. I started our league with 4 other guys, and this season my (adult) son has joined. Keep it fun. Simple play style (we do no stops on a rushing play, and just one stop on passing plays--to place the passing stick). Passing sticks are easier than learning to use the TTQB, and it lets the defense make a break on the ball. Keep the games shorter--we use 8-play quarters. We all put into a kitty for weekly prizes (randomly drawn categories), division winners, and league champion.
  8. Looking forward to the location announcement.
  9. Every matchup in your first round is AFC vs NFC. Interesting coincidence.
  10. Thought I'd see of the forum poll option would work, but there's a max of 3 questions.....
  11. In your video, I think it's clear OPI because the contact happens farther than a base length away, and the intended receiver runs, not toward the ball, head on into the defender who was headed for the ball. If they were both headed towards the ball and bump more than a base length away (coming from spots close to each other), the player who is trailing is considered to be guilty of PI. But we usually let the board run in this case if the leading player is still headed toward the ball, and if he catches it the penalty can be declined.
  12. Looks like OPI to me. Defender is headed toward the ball, and the receiver isnt when he runs into the defender, pushing him off the ball. We also have some issues with calling Pass Interference. Basically, to get the call, the player who gets interfered has to be (reasonably) headed toward the ball at the time of the foul, and the player committing the interference needs to make contact from the side or behind. But it's not always so clear cut in game play.
  13. Didn't have time to let weight take the crown out of the 610 since we have a game on it last night, so I installed a couple lengths of all-thread. Each team has chosen a home field: Bills--600 Broncos--620 G-men--Ultimate Big Blue--660 Albany Titans--610 Lions--Miggle Super Bowl Big Blue beat the Albany Titans in their home opener, 14-0. And the visiting Bills defeated the G-men, 10-7. Big Blue won the weekly prize, this time for most yards passing. American Conference National Conference Big Blue 1-0 Bills 2-0 Lions 0-1 Broncos 1-0 Titans 0-1 G-men 0-1
  14. I wonder if there's a way we could have an online pick'em pool. Like a form we could fill out. Not for $$ of course (No gambling at Bushwood!), but at least bragging rights?
  15. Definitley going to try this. Certainly nothing to lose.

    New Field

Sorry that a few pics are upside down. A flew blocks of wood and judicious use of a hammer took care for the most part of the dimple and the wrinkle in the end zone. They are nonissues now as far as I'm concerned. Any thoughts on how to flatten the area of bubbled/melted paint, though? We will probably just end up living with it and consider it a "muddy" spot on the field.

    New Field

Model 610 according to the field and box. AFC game that came with Jets & Browns. Scoreboard grandstand and separate standings board. Except a hand or 2, ten intact Jets and ten Browns. One from each team needed double ankle surgery. Jets rb is still holding the ball! Also in the box are three tan bases that are not Tudor. Looking like Gotham. After cleaning the board I noticed a spot of wrinkled paint at the 45 outside the hash marks. Looks like some kind of solvent got spilled there. Small crease in the back corner of the end zone, a dimple about 12 yards away from the paint blemish (same side of field between 40 & 45) Runs fine, but I want to use all thread to take the crown out of the field. Pics for clicks
  18. That's a very wide separator. I made some out of aluminum channel and installed a handle in the middle. They were about 2 yards wide. Problem with them though was that when you went to pick it up, you'd invariably twist it a bit lengthwise and disturb players, so we stopped. Our league has the defense line up one yard off the LOS. I'd also like to see the foam rubber footballs return. Once broken in, they worked well for a long time (or until lost). The felt ones seem to disintegrate fairly quickly. What about rub-on numbers? They look like waterslide decals, much better than the normal stickers. And I'd like to see the red-peg TTC bases return.
  19. Back on topic, I never use the field support for the Ultimate field anymore. The GBN motor works great, and the dip in the field is so slight that it doesn't seem to affect gameplay at all. I think the support was an improvement with the tudor motors more because it helped even out the vibrations, not becuase of any support.
  20. Inspected the new AFC field when I got home from work. There is one small dimple in the field, but otherwise the playing surface is great. Little imperfections are actually part of the "home field" advantage anyway. I'll get pics later, but it's just like in the auction photos. The field does have a crown to it. I grabbed some binder clips this morning when I got to work to pull the field flat, but I think I prefer the allthread approach. Binder clips can squeeze too hard and deaden the vibrations. I'll play around with it tonight. Are there any other ideas or methods for taking the crown out of a 620-type field?
  21. Hope you didnt put too much $$ on those lol. Not that I would've done any better!
  22. Just bought a 650 field on eBay (AFC 620-sized field, jets and browns), so it’s looking like we will all have home field boards. It’s not pristine with a couple rusty-ish spots along the tops of the rails, but I love the color scheme and it looks quite different from my other boards. Most importantly the field looks completely free of dents and wrinkles.
