  1. Due to a shipping snafu, I now own a second blue-end zone 620. Dallas/Rams, red peg bases. Two of the feet got damaged during shipping. One smashed totally, the other has a good piece broken off. Otherwise in really good shape. Pics coming soon. Will include the repair.
  2. Got a 70s 620 NFC game from eBay that has the "new" TTC bases (red pegs). Included was a sprue of all the red front prongs save one. Look at how uneven all the prongs are. Some are comically long, some super short, many are uneven.
  3. I also like the home team getting benefit of the doubt--great idea.
  4. Funny, I just picked up that same 620 Dallas/Rams set last weekend!
  5. With the attached bases that Shawn mentioned? That's the first set I remember playing on as a little kid with my big brother and his friends as well.
  6. Yes, I have the 610 AFC board as well. I know gluing the arms and legs is tricky at best. I've been contemplating using a fine drill bit and some wire to help with the reattachment process.
  7. I totally understand why Tudor is headed in the UniForms direction. I'd like to see the front and back jersey numbers die cut though, as I think that would improve the overall look quite a bit. I just hope they keep offering the water-slide decals (or offer a uniForm version of logos etc.) for those of use who want painted players. But painted helmet logos can look pretty good--did that with my Vikings and Bears teams.
  8. I don't like the new playoff OT rule. Rules shoudn't change from regular season is one big reason, though playoff games cannot end in a tie, so there's that. Another is, it's not sudden death anymore. I did like when they gave the other team a chance the ball after a FG in OT (since many seemed a little "cheap"). But going the length of the field for a TD is pretty definitive. The Bills are my AFC team. Remember the Bills/Chiefs game that started this whole thing. Chiefs received the ball and scored a TD, game over. Whining. But let's say the Bills had gotten a chance with the ball. Both teams were scoring TDs at will in the 4th q, and both defenses were gassed. So say the Bills answer with a TD. Back to square one. Then Cheifs get 40 yards and kick a long field goal to win. How is that better?? At least the NFL still plays the same game to decide a winner in OT. I hate penalty shots in hockey--not part of the game (except in rare instances). It's like, why not have two guys from each team play 5 hands of poker to see who wins?
  9. We don't round up yards either for making the line to gain. Nor the end zone. After downs 1-3 we put the ball on the closest yardline though.
  10. I prefer electric football when it's focused on the plastic guys and metal field. When I played solitaire, I had three offensive formations (pro set for normal, extra receiver in the slot for obvious pass plays, and a heavy run). Three defensive formations (base 4-3, dime, and goal line run d). Down and distance would dictate both teams' formations. I always had at least one RB in the backfield so I could run or pass the ball. Also, I could dump the ball to the RB if receivers weren't open on a pas play. I tried to set up the defense as best I could (taking into account what the offense was able to do), but I would always try to move the ball with the offense for both teams. Seems kinda formulaic, but we all know how the players can have a mind of their own. So running the same play against the same defense gives different results each time.
  11. Are these hog legs?
  12. Ok, so I was checking out the Cowboys. There's 11 players, but instead of the normal configuration there's only one "all-purpose" (what I use as OTs) and three "sprinters." But the paint jobs all match, so it's not a mix I don't think. The pants are more of a blue/silver, different from another old Cowboys team I have. And there's just a blob of blue on the helmet for the star. On the other Dallas team it's a plus sign. Lastly, they have black shoes and no "Hong Kong" under the platform, but the old team bags say "bag and players made in Hong Kong." I need to glue an arm on one Rams "backer" (TE/QB for me) figure, and glue the ankles for another backer and a center/guard on Dallas. Three other players are just missing hands. Rams team is missing the second backer.
  13. Actually, now that I look at my new field, it is alternating lighter/darker grass. Lol.
  14. My bag does have a small tear. You can see it in the second pic, above the "u" in the red area.
  15. Chris--it looks like your blue end zone 620 has alternating darker and lighter green for the grass, whereas mine is all the same. Guess that points to a particular year?
  16. Oh--it also came with a huge Tudor envelope. No idea what it was for?
  17. Just got a "new" 620 for the collection I mean league. Rams vs Cowboys, rookie bases so 1970-ish. Teams are Hong Kong, but not complete with a couple injured guys as well (which doesn't bother me). The field is in very nice shape. Little bit of a crown, as expected, but less than I've seen.
  18. I did the same before I got the GBN. It was better than with just one motor, but still glad I upgraded to the big ol' GBN. Now I have a couple motors I can use on older game boards if/when the originals die.
  19. My Ultimate field has a slight sag, and I even fabbed up a support to "fix" it. Don't use it at all anymore, as the sag is actually very slight and didn't affect play much at all. As for the motor, I use a GBN electromagnetic motor. Works FANTASTIC, and it mounts to the underside with magnets, so you can experiment to your heart's content with placement.
  20. Yes, I also use a primer. Just a rattle can of plastic-compatible white or grey primer. I actually prefer the grey, as you know when you have good coverage when painting teams with white pants and/or jerseys. I never liked that Tudor left white plastic bare for white elements. Looks cheap/unfinished to me.
  21. Checked out the website--looks like they changed it. Anyway, I'd ditch the Tudor motor and get the GBN electromagnetic motor anyway. Need a couple blocks under the feet for clearance, but that motor makes the ultimate board run superbly.
