  1. That is interesting! I don't remember if it was on here or elsewhere, but I read an interesting idea of giving Defenses Points for forcing turnovers, and giving the team who has more yards, more turnovers recovered, or some other positive stat, a Point at the end of the game as a built in tie breaker. Sounds like the Facebook post's idea is an evolution of that concept.
  2. I've been interested in this topic too! Since we're cracking plastic, and not skulls, we could theoretically use the old skool rulz, like 10-on-one-side, kickoff taken at the 30, natural dirt mound kicking tees....ok maybe not THAT old. 😆 In all seriousness, depending on the size and material of the board, one option I'm kicking around (no pun intended) for onsides is to simply point the kicking figure down and drill the ball into the field and then place a magnetic ball wherever it makes first bounce. That's more or less what actual Kickers do in real life....or at least what my coach taught me to do in High School. 😁
  3. And here is my original idea of formations for this game. These formations would allow an additional Receiver at the expense of less blocking and no QB scrambles- it's basically wide open gunslinging unless you want to motion a WR over to block. I sort of based this on a 7-vs-7 Special Teams punting drill from High School- we'd line up as a Long Snapper, a Personal Protector, 2 Upbacks, a Punter, and 2 Gunners per side. The Upbacks often messed up the drill and would run out wide like Slotbacks instead of staying in place to block first. They were probably the reason our Coach went bald so quickly. 😆
  4. Hi all, I figured it would be easier to split formations into two sets: O-Line and WRs. Here are some formations with 3 Lineman and QB. 2 OL and 3 and 4 WR formations to follow. Key: G = Guard, C = Center, F = Flexback (i.e. TE or Fullback) Q = Quarterback [] = Ineligible
  5. Those look awesome NEFGM, especially that Hockey one. I've seen one at the local "Bar-cade" that was so old, the goalies didn't have masks (in addition to the obvious lidless skaters). 😁
  6. Hi all, I've been working on some formations, and just doing the various iterations of OLine formations alone, I have already drawn up 13 variations- and at least 2 more that I haven't come up with a name for yet. 😆 I will be posting them hopefully by the end of tonight, so stay tuned! I'll have receiver Formations down the line, as there are even more possibilities there.
  7. That jack-o'-lantern helmet is awesome! It kind of makes me want to get a set of Browns figures and make a whole team of them like this....hmmm....🤔
  8. Here are some more blocking patterns (sorry for the thick lines, I'm using my cellphone)
  9. Pretty much, I basically ripped off the 90s "Tri-I" that the Seahawks and Rams used and converted it to Proset. I forgot to mention, I use TTC bases, so I can also do angle and swing routes with my RBs. If I was using Rookie bases, I would probably use more straight ahead TE blocking and free the RBs up for straight routes.
  10. Also, to relate back to the original question, if you count the Flexback as a TE, I typically use them as receivers moreso than blockers.
  11. I admit that I haven't played a lot of 2 player games, so perhaps this is my naivety showing, but I've generally played with 3 WRs, 2 RBs as my base, with one of the WRs kind of doubling as a TE as needed (I only have 22 figures per team plus TTQBs at this point, so I'm also having to improvise a bit). I've found that running this package, with a wide spaced Proset/Splitbacks formation (and occasionally in the Max Protect Pistol/Shotgun, which I've dubbed "Magnum" and "Rifle"), allows me to keep in my RBs in "pocket" protection on pass plays, as well as allows me to shift one of them out as a Slot Receiver if the Defense starts to play in the box more. "Pocket" Blocking seems to kick out the Loopers easier and gives me more time and room to angle the blockers, whereas two TEs tend to be engaged way quicker and therefore I'm stuck with whatever angle they got contacted in. Here's a visual representation, though it's not 100% perfect. As you can see, I usually line up my RBs right at the gap between the Guards and Tackles. I also like to motion the Slot/Flank/Flexback to the other side if I'm allowed to, which sometimes lets me read the Defense but often times just serves as obfuscation. 😆
  12. .... I just wanted to say that I LOVE the Holiday Forum layout update, with the falling snow and Holiday Lights! Thanks for making my night a lot happier, Tudor Games! 😁 Happy (Early) Thanksgiving Everyone! -PK
  13. I have been wondering about that- to me, the All-Purp fig does look more like a Tackle in a slanted 2 point stance getting ready to drop back, and the Backer figure looks more like a Defensive Back or Coverage LB than a Blitzing Backer or OT/TE. I guess strategically the wide arms help with encumbering Loopers and blitzing DBs, but my OCD still doesn't like it. 😆
  14. Good points. I've ever considered using one of my broken legged TTQBs as a Tight End or Defensive Lineman- with a little heat-shaping and/or "Green Stuff" to make him less Quarterback-y, he'd be great for modeling those 6'8"+ monsters, like Mike Fox, Too Tall Jones, Levine Toilolo, Donald Parham, etc. (In a Big Man figure league of course.... otherwise he'd be around 7'6"). 😆
  15. Yeah, that's a good point. I think a proper EF version of the A11 would require the use of only Linebacker and All-purpose Figures, at least on Offense. The Linemen, Runners, and Sprinters would be too Specialized to really "fool" anyone and would probably have to be used on Defense only. Then again, I'm just looking at aesthetics; there's no strict "rule" that says you can't send a Lineman fig downfield as a WR. In fact, I'm using Lineman figs as my Tight Ends and Fullbacks in my 7 man league.
  16. Awesome, glad to see that I'm not alone in this thought process! Obviously I'm not planning to use this as a base formation or anything, but I'm always looking for wrinkles to keep in my playbook.
  17. Poor Oilers! I was pulling for them in the beginning, but I might have to fair-weather this one. 😆
  18. I remember this league- I was super excited to hear about a new Spring League with interesting rules, and then it just disappeared before ever playing a snap. I ended up getting into my local Indoor 8 man team shortly thereafter. Interestingly, my state was one of the first to ban the A11 in High School play. When I was playing in HS, circa 2006-2008, I think we faced off against one school that used that Offense, but it could have actually been the Single or Double Wing the more I think about it- it was a pretty small school up in the mountains. (I don't remember any of my coaches specifically naming the formation, just that they ran a lot, had a lot of weird pre-snap shifts, and a lot of unbalanced set ups....and it should also be noted that I was the punter and kickoff specialist, so I wasn't exactly involved.) 😆
  19. I also couldn't forget about the Lonesome Polecat and Swinging Gate, now could I? 😁
  20. Hi fellow Coaches and Forumites, I've been drawing up some interesting formations for my 7-man solitaire league, and it got me thinking about "converting" some of them for the 11-man game. In the 7-man formation, I'm making use of Unbalanced Lines, with the two Guards on the same side of the Center. It got me thinking, have any of you experimented with any odd Offensive Line formations in Electric Football? I know I've seen a few guys keep their Tight Ends inline between the Split Ends as sort of defacto Sixth & Seventh Lineman, but what about "double-sided" Guards and Tackles? I can imagine the monsterous Sweeps, Counters, Traps, and even Bootleg Passes that would benefit from some Overloaded Beef up front. 😆 I've attached a couple of sample formations for illustration, so let me know if any of you have used something similar before and whether it seemed beneficial. Thanks! -PK
  21. Awesome! As a Saskatchewan Roughriders (and a future Schooner's fan), I'm always glad to see more of our Northern cousin's take on the ole gridiron. Have you obtained any 110 yard CFL Electric Football fields for your museum yet? I didn't see any on your site, but I know they're out there (almost certainly all as custom jobs). 😁
  22. Do you have any CFL or Arena/Indoor Teams by chance?
  23. That sounds plenty fun, though I would probably wait to start it until after the holidays- you know how crazy the mail gets between November and January. Once I get my board(s) together, I'd be interested in joining in! 😁
  24. Awesome, I'm glad that I'm not committing total Electro-Ball Blasphemy by using Zeroes on my jerseys. 😆 I know they're legal in the CFL and most Arena leagues as well. I have always thought that the NFL should bring back those numbers, as they're retiring numbers left and right and already had to make some modifications here recently (Receivers now can use numbers in the Teens, Linebackers and Tight Ends can now can use 40s, etc). 53 players can burn up numbers pretty quickly. Along with opening up the single digits to WRs, I think adding 0 and 00 would give just a little more breathing room, even if they reserved those numbers solely for the wimpy Kickers and Punters (it's ok, I was a Punter in High School so I can make these kind of jokes 😆).
