  1. Yep, I've been in there at least a couple times. I'm not sure if I ever bought anything- if I did, it was probably candy. ๐Ÿ˜ I like the sub place that's nearby as well, I think it's called Smoky Mountain subs or something like that (it's been almost six years lol). My favorite spot in Waynesville was near a median in the road that had a nice comfy bench on the sidewalk. I wish I could remember exactly where it was, or at least a nearby landmark, so I can go there again. I made 70 bucks there one night- that's more than I ever made in Raleigh. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  2. Wow Al, I guess that's how you make a magnet base the hard way. ๐Ÿ˜† That is my worst fear when it comes to bases. I dread tweaking, mostly because I'm pretty clumsy with hand tools (I blame it on being the only left-handed guy in my family) and can visualize myself snapping off 200+ sets of tines. ๐Ÿ˜†
  3. Small world, I know exactly where Tuscola High School is! I used to live in Bryson City during my senior year at Western, as I was a legal intern for a law firm there. I used to go to Waynesville (and Lake Junaluska) quite frequently on the weekends to busk with my guitar. If you ever saw a long black-haired guy in a flat cap, blue plaid jacket, and playing cheesy cover songs on an acoustic 12 string (usually on the benches around North Main Street) circa 2013/14, it was probably me. ๐Ÿ˜ If I ever get the urge to leave my current location in Central NC, I'd seriously consider moving to Waynesville. It's a beautiful town. My Cherokee professor would also be super pleased to hear that you are doing projects with the syllabary. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  4. Don't feel too bad, Rick. Yesterday I caught myself breaking out a calculator to add .5 + .5. ๐Ÿ˜† Can't wait to see you guys' carrying set up! Once I get some scratch together this payday I'm going to be looking into some of your storage solutions, as I still haven't purchased/fabricated any refs, yard markers, extra parts for the board, etc. and I think my Feldherr cases will be too full for all that stuff.
  5. Michael's has some good deals, I'm actually going to make my first down markers using some bracelet chain, magnets, and dowels, along with one of those 40% off coupons. I wish I had thought about them for storage before I dropped $70 each on two of these: ๏ฟผ Each case comes with 5 trays, and each tray holds 36 figures. Since I have 8 teams of 25, with 3 TTQBs that are a lot wider, I took six of the spaces and cut the median piece out to make 3 extra wide spaces for them. I am now left with 8 extra spots per tray for coaches and paints. I also took the 2 unused trays, and on each tray I made 12 more TTQB spaces the same way while leaving 12 more regular sized spaces for unpainted "Free Agents" in case I break some more figs in the future.
  6. Thanks, Doug. I will try to sketch one up this weekend and reach out to them. My local print shop only does up to 18" x 12". ๐Ÿ˜ข
  7. Also, if anyone is interested in the video game, here's a video and a link to the Wikipedia page. ๐Ÿ˜Š https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_League_Football https://youtu.be/CCPrBFokTLo
  8. True, I've been pretty satisfied with the Tudor pre-painted figs I've bought so far. The paint jobs aren't perfect, but they're better than what I can probably do myself, and you can't beat the $5 tag. I do have to say, I've been very impressed with your collection from what I've seen so far in your tourney thread. I can't wait for the next season to kick off! I'm kinda jealous of how you have kept them in such great shape for so long - I've had my figures for around two or three months, and I've still already broken 3 figures just by putzing around with them (not including the 2 that were busted in the mail). Luckily, I snagged some of those Feldherr foam tray cases for them, and I'm getting better at not dropping them on my hardwood floors! ๐Ÿ˜†
  9. I'm in the same boat with you guys, I like the original or at least older uniforms of most teams, except for Tampa Bay (you have to admit, the 90s/2000s red and black design is a lot meaner looking than the orange cream popsicle jerseys with the Harlequin Romance Novel-looking Pirate. ๐Ÿ˜†). For some teams, I like their alternate 3rd jerseys as it adds a nice change up from the usual. That being said, I hate the thought of the NFL going the way of college football or the NBA with 5 or 6 different uniforms in a season. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  10. Heck, if you're doing restyling, can you do one of that field goal celebration?
  11. Yeah he died this Summer I think. I wish I could have met him, it's inspiring how he could kick with half a foot and missing most of his hand. I actually had the privilege of being at the Carolina Panthers-NY Giants game a year or two ago, where Graham Gano tied Dempsey's 63yd (Non-Denver) field goal record. It'll always be a special memory. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  12. Yeah I think I watched it a little while ago on the NFL Network. He definitely did a lot of good work off the field, and I know that the boys from the Brady Bunch said he was one of the nicest guest stars they ever had.
  13. I also don't mean it as some sort of knock either, as I like both of them. It's just always seemed to me that Namath and Testaverde had a very similar caliber of play. Gritty QBs that may not be the same level as Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning, but they could get the ball moving.
  14. I always come back and rewatch that clip every time I think of the Jets. I have a soft spot for Kickers and Punters going above and beyond just using their legs. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  15. Somewhere, in a slightly alternative universe, Vinny Testaverde is the one winning the Jets their first Superbowl. Meanwhile, Joe Namath is the one with a 20 year career, 123 Career Losses, and was briefly backed up by a Punter named Tom Tupa for one game. ๐Ÿ˜† https://youtu.be/qnFCAbR84RA
  16. Does anyone have any recommendations for ordering custom field covers that are not a standard size? I have a 42" x 18" field that I'm looking to scale at 67 yards (50 yard field with two Endzones). I'm not looking for anything with licensed imagery or real teams, so I don't think it would break the Terms of Use to ask, but if so please let me know.
  17. Man, those leather footballs look sweet! I can't wait to see those pups in action. ๐Ÿ‘ I had actually thought about taking some Saturn balls and gluing some scrap leather to them sandwich style a couple weeks ago, but I didn't know if that would help or hinder performance. I'm now inspired again, and might be making a quick trip to my local Michael's tonight. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. While they're not my favorite team, I always liked the Jaguars dark unis. Teal is criminally underused as a base color outside of Arena/Indoor Football Leagues, just like Aquamarine for that matter. Matched with the Jet Black helmets, it just screams butt-whooping time- despite what the actual onfield play has been lately. ๐Ÿ˜† The Jags Logo is still kind of goofy looking though. I prefer the Panthers Logo, and not just because they're my local team. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  19. I'm not sure how in depth you're going with your set up, but I was thinking about if you put up any Sideboards with decals or anything. I know every November my college (Western Carolina) would do a couple Native American appreciation football games and put up banners, programs, helmet decals, etc in the Cherokee Syllabary. It was pretty cool looking. They also briefly had shirts printed up that said "แŽงแŽฉแณแแ— แฃแ™แ“ (Kagiyusdi Tsadoda)", which roughly translates to "Who's your Daddy?!" But the chancellor wasn't very happy about that....๐Ÿ˜†
  20. Haha, yeah I've noticed that sometimes my words get changed or some spaces between the words disappear. As long as it doesn't change to a swear word or something I'm not too worried. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  21. Yep, I was a Catamount. ๐Ÿ˜ Did you go to Western as well?
  22. Wow, that's pretty slick! I bet it makes a great conversation piece. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  23. If I remember correctly (and I could be mixing up coaches), the Oilers of Campbell's era were one of the "Run-and-Shoot" teams that were also heavy users of the Ace formation, but with 3 WR and 1 TE instead of the Joe Gibbs 2 TE flexback set. So he probably never had much of a lead blocker.
  24. Wow that's a super professional looking layout! I will definitely be following your League. ๐Ÿ‘ I actually went to school outside of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians reservation and took a couple semesters of the language, so if you need any cool Cherokee syllabary stuff for the Chattanooga team I'd be happy to help. ๐Ÿ˜
