  7. I use a clock to time the games. 15 minutes per quarter. I basically use NFL game timing rules. I do stop the clock between plays while I separate the teams, and then start it again when I place the offensive center at the spot of the ball. I can generally set up the offense within 40-45 seconds. I then stop the clock again while I set up the defense. I then allow the clock to run while I am executing the play. It generally takes 45 minutes to an hour to complete a Quarter, but I also keep a play-by-play log. I usually play a game over two days, in one hour to two hour intervals. There is no "Magic Formula" for how long it takes to play a game. Or even how you play it. Everyone has there own individual styles and ways to play. The main thing is to find a formula that works for you and that gives you the most satisfaction from playing the game. "Just have fun and play the game!!"
  8. Classic Matchup - Go Steelers!!!
  9. Very Good Idea!! The number of games to play is probably the one reason a lot of solitaire leagues with a large number of teams never get finsihed. Another suggestion is to just play double eliminaion tournaments. I have done that in the past. I also allow tie games in the early rounds and then change to a single elimination with OT when it gets down to the Final 4. There are many ways to play and enjoy the game. The main thing is to "Just have Fun!!"
  10. They main thing is to use plenty of soap and water!!! Make sure all surfaces are clean. Free of grease, oil, dirt, hair, etc...
  11. Loopers are DE's that "loop" in from the outsides of the defensive line around the offensive line towards the QB (Usually a stand still lined up 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage or QB fading back from the line of scrimmage). To create them, the bases are tweaked to make a wide sweeping right or left turn. They should also be tweaked to run fast. They should converge on a point 15 - 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
  12. I know Dave, I miss them too. I always spent more time at the conventions talking to them than anyone else. Was surprising to see that picture with this article.
