  4. Sometimes it just takes rotating the speed control up then back down. or making sure the batteries are seated properly. Several times when I have thought the motor wasn't working this has fixed the problem.
  5. Probably the most common methed (and the one I use) is to soak the figures in Break Fluid,Usually over night and then rinse in soap and water. Also use a stiff brush (old toothbrush) to remove any remaing paint. Oven Cleaner is another method but heard it can melt the figures if left too long.
  6. It also helps to have full teams on the board when checking for these issues. Due to the added weight, board and player performance will be different than if just one figure is on the board.

  8. Never really thought of using electric football figures in this way. https://nefgm.org/2021/03/11/ef-artist-spotlight-jim-ridlon-former-college-and-professional-football-player/
  9. Thanks for posting the rules. Interersting. I like.
  10. Cool!! Just checked out your league page. Awesome first season. Do you have any published league rules?
  11. If you can start doing the research and write ups, that would be greatly appreciated. I am sure myself and several others could provide photos and other details you might need. I typically produce doucuments in powerpoint and then convert to pdf's. Let me know how i can help. Thanks, Chris
  12. Great Catch!! Never noticed that. Need to look for it on some of my old gameboards.
  13. Hmm ... something I never noticed, but true. Seems to be pretty common on a lot of the old field designs. The worst I have ever seen though is on a 1971 Munro Canadian Edition game board that I have. It only has 11 yard endzones at a time when the endzones in Canadian Football were supposed to be 25 yards deep. But accordng to a 1972 Canadian Football Rule Book, that I have, on fields that are less than regulation: If the natural boundary of the field is less than 25 yards behind the goal-line, such boundary shall be the dead-line. And since you got my curiosity up, I measured several others. Some of the 500 models have short endzones by about a yard. Even the most recent Tudor game boards, that I have, have longer endzones by a yard or two. And... for the history "nerds"... um "buffs", like my self (LOL), the only reason we even have endzones today is because of foward passing. Originally, way back when, forward passing beyond the goal line wasn't allowed. The fields were 110 yards long at that time also.
  14. Most leagues and tournaments set up in the center of the field. Don't really know why other than that's just what they do. I use the hashmarks in my solitaire play.
  15. Have added some new collections to the Collector's Gallery of the nefgm.org website. Hope you enjoy. Collectors Gallery – The National Electric Football Game Museum (nefgm.org)
  16. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Pittsburgh, PA to purchase a large collection of vintage gameboards from a long time collecter. It really is not the policy of the museum to make large purchases like this, but since we are just in the beginning stages of setting up the museum, I decided to make an exception in this case. Here are a few pics. My goal for the museum is to have at least one example of every gameboard from each period of the history of electric football and at least one of every variation in mint or as near mint condition as I can get. Making this purcahse went a long way towards making that goal a reality but still a long way to go. For the most part these games are in good or fair condition. A few very good (near mint) and several poor or very poor ( Rust and dents). The teams were not included in this collection (they had been pulled and sold separately) but many things like the rule books, scoreboards and accessory parts were still with them. Overall I am very pleased with this collection. I am gaining a wealth of knowledge about the history of the game and that is truly what the purpose of the museum is. As I continue to go through these games I will take more pics and share them in this post. If you have any questions please ask and share your comments. Thanks, Chris LeMay, Founder and Curator, The National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum "preserving the buzzzzz ..."
  17. zak99b5, Just watched. Thanks for sharing. That's awesome. My wife's neice and husband just opened a used LEGO store in the the Nashville area (Lebanon. TN). So I have become a lot more interested in LEGO's. My wife tutors their 2 kids at the store, so once a week, I get to go hang out at the store. That is where I met the guy that I commissioned to build this stadium. it is a cuatom build using 3 sets of LEGO's Manchester United Stadium set.
  18. Recently had a LEGO Stadium custom built for one of my game boards. Plans are to use this in a traveling electric football museum exhibit.
  19. Would love to see the video.
