  1. Bum Phillips was the Coach but if Campbell had a big blocking back like OJ had in Braxton, who knows, he may have added a little more longevity to his career.
  2. VIKINGS OFFENSE GETS GOING IN BIG 17-14 WIN OVER TITANS! August 27, 2020. Downtown Metro Minnesota. What's going on in Minnesota? As Week #3 of the Long Island Electric Football League intensifies, we learned one thing about Coach Joey Pizz’ Minnesota Vikings (0-2), they play a very strong defensive game. What's missing is the great scheming offense they had for the past two seasons. Last week the Vikings lost an overtime game to the Indianapolis Colts 13-6, in overtime, and then in Week#1 they lost to their division rival, the Green Bay Packers, 7-0. Since 2008, the LIEFL-NFC North has produced one Super Bowl Champion in the three-time NFC Finalist Detroit Lions. So, where Pizz takes his Vikings from here is anybody's guess. One thing's for sure, Minnesota needs to get that offense going with Adrian Peterson. Peterson has been a great running back in the League for two or three seasons, but this year the Vikings offensive front can't seem to get going, which sends a huge red flag at this point in the season. Peterson has only 17-yards rushing this season and an alarming 215 total yards, but more alarming is the back has not scored a touchdown for this team. Since the seven-game season format launched in 2008, the Vikings are (23-17), but Pizz' Minnesota Vikings have won three division titles. What's next for his Vikings is the question. Pizz said, "This game will be our turning point. The guys will do what they need to do to elevate their game. I know I have a defense, but now it's time for us to be a little more aggressive with our great running back in Peterson. I am looking for a few top linebackers in the 2021 Draft. We'll see." Peterson's numbers don't lie. His best year was in 2017. He had 539 yards on 62 carries rushing, but he had 1570 total yards in regular season play with 10 touchdowns. Last year we saw a decline in Peterson's performance as he rushed for 233 yards and he had 66 carries for 1386 all-purpose-yards, with eight touchdowns. We realize the record-keeping my be inconsequential to people who read about our league, but the incredible part of our league is that at nine years-old one of our members kept every single record and detail of every single game. In 1992, we put it all on computer, but still have an entire bin with at least 40 folders dedicated to the Long Island Electric Football League. Imagine that! It is amazing! That's what makes this team unpredictable. Kinney has put up 316 total yards with three touchdowns on the season, and Jones has not even touched the ball yet. Coach Kevin Mac’s Titans will pose lots of problems for the Indianapolis Colts to fight for this division. Coach Mac said, "I always try to show up at the game of the team we play the following week if I am not too tired from working all day. I didn't see anything special in the Vikings, but for sure, Pizz is a master of the game, so it's going to be an exciting one. We didn't come to lay-down and die on the Vikings." THE GAME: Just as Vikings Coach Pizz promised, his Vikings got off to a solid start with Sammy White returning the ball 33-yards. Minnesota put that offense to work early, handing the ball off to the slow starting Adrian Peterson who exploded on three running plays as the Vikings marched 77-yards on an 8, 26 yard pick-up, and finally Peterson ran for a 39-yard touchdown run with 8:43 left to go in the half to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead! Beautiful work by Coach Pizz as Coach Kevin Mac looked on in disbelief! On the kickoff return Titans special teams return man All-Pro Brandon Jones, took the ball back-48 yards. On three fast plays Tennessee found themselves in a fourth-down situation as the Titans lined-up in a rare, "T" formation! Something very different for Coach Kevin Maloney who must be watching lots of electric football game film because we have never seen him use a play like that, especially on fourth down. With one-yard to go for the first down with 1:03 left to go in the half, Eddie George ran for a huge risk-play, four-yards to get the first down with 35 seconds left in the half on a beautiful play executed by Coach Mac's Tennessee Titans! The Titans showed a different side to them against this NFC North Viking team. And, on first down George ran straight up the gut of the tough Purple-People-Eater line and into the end-zone for a 36 yards touchdown, making the score 7-7, with 14:31 left to go in the game. The Titan defense played very well in the second half. They were determined to stop Adrian Peterson, and they held him to just four yards after a 47-yard kick return by the running back. But on third down Chuck Foreman took a tremendous 61-yard pass into the end-zone put the Vikings ahead 14-7, with 7:50 left to go in the game. What a great game! Titans Brandon Jones then returned a 33-yard play, but he was hit hard by Adrian Peterson. After a one-yard gain by Eddie George, who had a big day with 107 yards rushing on 7 carries, George exploded on the Vikings for a 47-yard run to the Viking 19-yard-line, with 3:58 left to go in the game. The clock was winding down on these two competitive teams. From 19-yards away George then scampered through the left side of the Minnesota defense to tie the game at 14-14, with 2:33 left to go in the game! As time ran down on the clock, the Vikings returned the ball on the ensuing kickoff, 36-yards by Adrian Peterson. Minnesota's Fran Tarkenton threw a quick 6-yard pop-pass to Peterson as Peterson sped to the 47-yard line. And on the last play of the game with 3 seconds left the Minnesota Vikings win their first game of the year on a dramatic Joe Pizz 58-yard field goal to make the score, 17-14, the Vikings (1-2) win! Tennessee Titans and an angry Kevin Mac will play Pittsburgh (2-1) at home next week, and Coach Pizz heads to Houston to take on the Texans (0-3), and then their season can turn with a win over Carolina (1-1) and Chicago (1-1), to play two home games in a row.
  3. That is true and he was so hard to bring down and of course we wouldn't deny any of these guys in our backfield and he might have lasted even longer if you had some type of support in the backfield with him or even a huge block in back I don't remember if he had that
  4. Yes with what is going on in the country New York has drastically changed, but it is becoming that way throughout the USA
  5. Thank you so much for your input. Where my favorite full-backs was Riggins. He had an amazing run as you know in 84 and it's a great documentary out there about him. I have to do a little more research on Taylor I know who he is but I didn't watch a lot of the film worth it. He's a big strong tough guy
  6. Thank you so much! Very happy to be part of this hobby! Thanks you for all you do!
  7. Thank you so much my efl brother send any pictures my way I'll do the same for you
  8. That is well written and I remember those Rams of the late 70s and the Steeler players we're great as well and your knowledge of all these players like Gabriel and some of the guys you have on your team is incredible. I'm waiting for your championship game
  9. Lacrosse is a huge board here on Long Island and when you hear Jim Brown talk about lacrosse it's really funny
  10. Doug thank you for your time in advance. I was wondering if Tudor had any of the older TTC bottoms like from a few years ago. Not the newer version.
  11. RAMS BEAT BILLS IN SHOWDOWN 16-10 IN OVERTIME ON TYLER'S 67 YARD TOUCHDOWN! August 25, 2020. Orchard Park, Buffalo, New York. Great coaching has a price tag when you are playing against your own teams. This Long Island Electric Football League game between the 2018 and 2019, two-time defending LIEF Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams (1-1) and the 2017 Super Bowl Champion Buffalo Bills was a heart-break game with so much amazement. Coach Billy "O'C" against Alternate Coach for the league, Joe "Bino" was one to remember! We know you EF hobbyists feel like us when we say, "Our players are doing things on their own". Well, this was that game and those players! It was a game coaches dream about for a Super Bowl showdown. There couldn't be a better match-up in this feature game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills. "I love my Bills and I love my Rams, but someone has to lose. Both of these teams show incredible teamwork and winning will be a matter of capitalizing on the others mistakes. There is something about the "Juice" in the game that keeps me wanting to see him play, but the Rams have Isaac Bruce who I have been fortunate enough to develop into one of the most dangerous players in the LIEFL." Coach Bino said, "These are the games I play the hobby for. I know what I have with the Rams and I am just going to play it out and bring all of who they are. I love watching them. It's like they are alive and making plays without me." All the earmarks for a great game exist between the powerful Rams special-teams and their running game versus the Bills star running back OJ Simpson, who is not new to any big games. MVP in LIEFL 2017, Super Bowl XIII, Simpson is one of the most explosive reiable backs in the LIEFL. How good he really is is a battle of Buffalo's will. Today is a little different, he's going to have to be on fire to beat this Rams team and the Bills will have to play at Super Bowl level, even at home. The sign of a great team in this league is one who can win on the road. The Rams own the road. They are 17-4 since 2018, and last season in their second straight Super Bowl run, Billy O'C's Rams knocked out everyone as a Wild Card team! THE GAME: On the kick return OJ Simpson dropped the ball but recovered for a 29-yard kick-return for the for Bills to set up their first run of the game. Simpson ran for 17, 9, and another 9-yards on his first four plays. Los Angeles finally started to kick in their Fab-Five defense with All-Pro Jackie Slater in the lead, stopping Simpson on the next two plays, bringing it to third down with 11 yards to go for the first, with 6:43 to go in the half as Buffalo chewed up the clock. After stopping Simpson on third down quarterback Jim Kelly threw a rocket from the pocket hitting Andre Reed for the 33 yard touchdown pass to give Buffalo a 7-0 lead with 1:18 left to go in the half! On the Rams first return, we rise to our feet to watch "The Reverend" Isaac Bruce return the ball. Bruce sped down to the 39-yard-line where he was tackled by OJ Simpson with a little over a minute to go and a half! On an amazing running play Los Angeles running back Wendell Tyler, squeaked around the right side through a lot of traffic for huge 24-yard gain to the Buffalo Bills 35-yard line! The Buffalo defense gave the Rams a hard time running the ball and on third down Isaac Bruce made a great catch for 40 yards down the right sideline as he blazed in for the touchdown to tie the game 7-7 with 10:24 remaining in the game! Buffalo decided to give rookie Ray Brown a try a kick-return as he took it back 45 yards giving the Bills outstanding field position. What an intense battle between two great team's and coaches. The Rams front-line of the fabulous, furious five came to play some electric football in Buffalo as they force the third-down after a huge 35-yard run from OJ Simpson, pushing the ball back with 4:08 to go in the game as the Bills are forced to pass. And on third down the Bills came up short on an incomplete pass attempted for OJ Simpson at the 9-yard line as Buffalo is kicks a field-goal from 35 yards away to make the score 10-7 with a minute left to go in this amazing match-up! The Bills did their best to keep the ball out of Isaac Bruce's hand, but Bruce wasn't having it. He navigating an amazing heart-stopping run for Los Angeles, returning the kick for 82-yards, hit by his own man forcing Bruce out of bounds at the 18-yard line of Buffalo as the Rams run almost run out of time. The Rams kick the field-goal to tie the game 10-10, as we go into overtime in a phenomenal game! And as luck would have it the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams win the coin toss in overtime! Bills coach Billy O'C falls to his knees disbelief! Watching two of your own teams play on the field and having to make these types of choices is very difficult as the Rams continue their curse on their own coach. What we mean by that is O'C's Dolphins lost to these Rams in the Super Bowl last year, and here he is with a team that he loves in the Buffalo Bills on the verge of an upset against the defending champs. If they lose Buffalo will have their backs against the wall for the rest of the season. One game can be a tremendous setback in this league. Bruce took the overtime kickoff back 41 yards to set Tyler up for the run. Buffalo will not give in as they push the Rams back to the 28 yard line for a huge 14-yard loss, making it third-down enforcing the Rams to go up in the air. At 6:02 in overtime Jarod Goff made a sensational pass to Rams running back Wendell Tyler as the Bills watch Tyler scorch 67-yards down the sideline and into the end-zone as the Los Angeles Rams (2-1) explode on Buffalo to win an incredible game, 16-10! One game can turn a season around in this league. The game left Billy O'C speechless. Joe Bino said, "I love it! I love beating O'C and I love ruing other teams chances for the playoffs. In a way, as alternate coach, it's my job to put on the best performance. I want that $1500 payday and I have nothing to lose. Let these guys get caught up in all the emotional stuff, I just play hard!" The Buffalo Bills (1-2), have put themselves in a bind. They play Las Vegas, LA Chargers, and Denver on the road. Coach O'C said, "Nothing is impossible with these Bills. We are going to rise to the occasion. We have a score to settle with the Chargers and that was a screaming match in the AFC Divisional Championship 49-48, but I will be ready. I cannot allow this game to knock my Bills out of the playoff picture." The Los Angeles Rams (2-1) play the Giants at home and then they travel to San Francisco to play division rival San Francisco!
  12. STEELERS TAKE A BUS RIDE DOMINATE TEXANS 13-7 August 25, 2020. The STEEL City, Pittsburgh, PA. Long Island Electric Football League Coach Paddy Brannigan's Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) came out in force looking for their second win in three games as they try to build momentum to get this Steelers team back on track and into the playoffs after a season of rebuilding through the Draft They may never have won an LIEFL title, but they are a tough group of player figures. Rookie Head Coach Levi Vick of the Houston Texans (0-2) has Ron Dayne. Dayne can single-handily beat almost any team if he gets hot, but the Texan's line has failed them so far. "Ultimately these loses fall on me, but I feel I can really work with this team. I have never lost so many games, and I am a bit embarrassed, but it is what it is, and I have to work through the growing pains because I love the teams and the league is absolutely worth fighting to be in. I think I thought too far ahead. The guys even let me use my player bases from my All-Star teams in my previous league, but that was a risk I regret," said Vick. On the opening kick-off "The Bus" Jerome Bettis ran a 42-yard kick return for Pitsburgh. Bettis is taking over all of the offensive duties because both Swann and Stallworth have injuries, but they will slowly get the ball more. Coach Brannigan has these Steelers on the run doing blue-collar stuff! The Steelers on third down pulled a Terry Bradshaw quarterback-sneak on rookie coach Levi Vick for a Bradshaw gain of 26-yards to the Texans 17-yard line setting up the Bus for a touchdown run on the very next play for the game's first score 7-0, Steelers in the lead! Houston's Ron Dayne finished 5th last week in the LIEFL AFC statistics with 293 kick-returns yards. Dayne returned a beautiful run 75-yards to the Steelers 25 yard line. The STEEL Curtain showed up and shut down Dayne and the Texans running game on their first set of downs, forcing them to pass on third down. Steelers linebacker Jack Lambert couldn't match Texan running back Ron Dayne's speed as he caught a pass for a 19-yard gain after two loss of yardage plays in a row. The Texans were forced to go for it on 4th down or punt. They decided to run the ball. It was a huge gamble for the Texans as Steeler All-Pro tackle John Kolb came up with a huge hit stopping Dayne in his tracks at the 25 yard-line, Steelers ball! The 12:51 second half "Bus" arrived for a 23-yard gain! The Steelers offence advanced for a first down to their own 48-yard line, almost to midfield! Pittsburgh had two more runs with the Bus leading the way for 23, and 10 yards gain until they came to a sudden halt by the sleepy Houston defense who kicked the energy level up a notch forcing a third down with 8:15 left to go in the game! Pittsburgh's Rocky Bleier made an 11 yard catch, but the Steelers came up short of the first down and were forced to kick a field-goal to make the score 10-0, with 7:05 left to go in the game! Houston's Dayne took the ball back 46-yards in heavy traffic with 5:19 left to go in the game! On the next play, Dayne exploded to the left side of the Steelers defense for a 16-yard run and a first down! The Texans offense decided to kick it up a notch as Ron Dayne took it around the left side of the field for a 38-yard touchdown run to make the score 10-7, Steelers with 3:44 left in the game! With the Bus, the Steelers offense ran down the clock but not before kicking a field-goal to make the score 13-7, Steelers! Pittsburgh Coach Brannigan said, "Levi Vick is a very good coach. He did everything right and we like his style and believe that next year his given teams will re-energize. What we would like to see is Levi finish strong and show some will." Next week, the Steelers go to Tennessee and then they are home against the Ravens for the war of the 2020 North Division season between Brannigan and the Freeport-Chucker! The Chucker is already talking smack. Houston's season is in severe trouble at (0-3) as they Minnesota (0-2) at home next week and then they travel to Detroit. Jerome Bettis had ten carries for 111 total yards with one touchdown, and Houston's Ron Dayne was nine for 205 yards with a touchdown!
  13. EXCELLENT ATHLETE YOU ARE! YEAH, The south is so different from LI, but the LI kids sometimes think they are in their own world. LOL
  14. That is so cool! Where are you from? It is great that you could use that multi-sport talent to take your soccer skills to football! We didn't even have soccer when I graduated believe it or not, but baseball, football, was intense in Florida!
  15. What a game the Jets advanced. This is going to be an exciting super Bowl
  16. He was a tremendous athlete and that wasn't even his best sport believe it or not. He was a superstar in Lacrosse.and that is awesome that you are into electric football at 29
  17. I was just thinking about how when they age have devastating effects can be on the body. I watch the John Riggins documentary and that guy hasn't had the same problems because he was all padded up if you look at his uniform. And he was able to do all that with a lot of padding
