  1. RAVENS BEAT CHIEFS, STAY UNDEFEATED! September 8, 2020. Baltimore, Maryland. COUNTDOWN: We finally made it to the end of Week#3 in the Long Island Electric Football League with a dynamic match-up between the rebuilding Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) and the defending AFC North Champs, the undefeated Baltimore Ravens (2-0), but the biggest question is, what happened to Kansas City running back, Priest Holmes? We turned to our Big-Time professional analyst, Andy Slawson for that answer. Slawson's Corner Analyst and Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Andrew Slawson, said of Kansas City running back Priest Holmes, "We can't ignore the numbers on Holmes productivity because the numbers speak volumes about a productive team in this league, obviously. You know Matty "Zoo-York" McQueen is a very good coach, but I have to hold him accountable for the sudden collapse of the Chiefs and here’s why. In 2018, the Chiefs went (4-3), and they were looking like a team who might be a serious playoff contender in 2019, but that never happened, they fell apart. Maybe Matty-Zoo has some big plans for the Chiefs, but he cannot ignore the numbers on offense. Slawson rattled off the top of his head just how important Holmes has been to the Chiefs. Listen again, in 2018, he was the 2018 AFC Offensive Player of the Year. Holmes was the #3 rusher in the AFC totaling 545 yards with 11 touchdowns, but more important he was the #1 all-purpose player in the Long Island Electric Football League, with an AFC record-setting 1942 yards with 16 touchdowns. Not even OJ could do that! Then, last season, Holmes worked twice as hard, as the Chiefs went (1-6). Holmes managed to rush for 567 yards with 9 touchdowns, and he had 1318 all-purpose yards with 10 total touchdowns on a team with six losses. The league is getting more and more competitive with strong drafts and it's evolving too with high-level, high-performing coaching skills. My prediction: Look no further, if McQueen doesn't get Holmes involved in this game, it's lights out for Kansas City." Coach McQueen said, "This is a big game for us tonight. We have to get back to the basics and get the running game going as well as play some serious defense against an excellent team. We watched the Texan game that the Ravens won 14-13, and I think we can keep it close. I am sure as Chucker tries to get under my skin, I will find a way to force this game into overtime and turn things around here. There is a lot of pride in Kansas City Chiefs as we improve, and I just have to get the guys to bring it all together. We think the Ravens really haven't played anyone and we think we can figure out their soft-spot. If you make the playoffs in this league, you have a darn good football team." We are completing Week#3 of the LIEFL schedule, and Priest Holmes has just 51 total yards. It doesn't take much to figure out the trouble Kansas City is in, but there have been some bright signs as well. They have shared responsibilities and moved the ball around with rising star receiver, Tyreek Hill. There is a little tension in this game and it’s always animated because these two coaches played each other in LIEFL-Week#1 when the Chucker’s Ravens beat Zoo-York’s Cleveland Browns 17-7, so Zoo knows what to expect! The Ravens, Jamaal Lewis has 170 total yards with three touchdowns. His running ability is as exciting as the damaging Baltimore front line led by Yanda, Anderson, and Ogden and we cannot underestimate the magnitude of this game because it is a chance for the Chiefs to make a huge statement if they want to remain competitive and reach the top in this league. They have to surprise the Baltimore Ravens, coached by the loudest coach in the league, Johnny "Freeport-Chucker" LaFramboise. As he walked in the room for today's game, Chucker said, "Let's get ready to rumble" man! Ready for a beating, he said to McQueen. How do you like my Ravens? And the Chucker continued. This is like a mini-war. People think we don't think of our teams much during the week, but this is the best hobby with incentive, so I am always watching other coaches on YOU-TUBE to pick up things that may help me, but the league-rules really favor the coaches in other leagues, with two-stops, sticks for passing, changing player directions by stopping the game, and timer countdowns. No sir, that would never happen in this league. The pressure is forced on us to perform in the strict time rules allotted in our league, with more of a live action effect to the game. There are no sticks, no turns, no time stops and countdowns, just pure intense non-stop action! If they did all those stops in the NFL, the game would take forever. I always feel the pressure in this crazy league! Even the most competitive guys out there would love this league, and trust me, you'd feel the pressure and intensity. As they say, 'There is always someone better.' There is always a lot at stake in this league. The money is real, the prestige is real, and playing in this league is like playing under tournament pressure in every single game. Newsday, will be doing a special on this league next year as we celebrate our 50th year! We win on mistakes and calculations, and miscalculations. I love it!" For our readers who might wonder how we type these little journals of the league so fast, we have a "Voice dictator" in our Word program which can type. Then we just read what was written, and we have to check for spelling etc., and of course we make mistakes, but we do our best to write fluent, informative articles. THE GAME: Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) (LIEFL RANK-#18/ 67-84 All-Time) vs. Baltimore Ravens (2-0) (LIEFL RANK-#28 /31-28 All-Time) The time had come to put up or shut up now for the Coach Johnny LaFramboise, aka the Freeport-Chucker! On the opening kickoff Ravens All-Pro Derrick Mason flew downfield with blazing speed for a hundred yard kick return as the Ravens make an opening statement and the Chucker just jumped up in the air as Baltimore took the lead 7-0 with 14:45 left in the half! That kick return took Mason 15 seconds to go 100 yards! On the Chiefs kick return Tyreek Hill ran back a 38 yard run into the "Goose" Tony Siragusa, the Ravens tackle. On the first two plays Kansas City running back Priest Holmes announced he was back as he took a slicing run 12-yards for the first down. Coach McQueen's Chiefs let the Ravens know that they're here to play! Looking back at that touchdown by Derek Mason his speed and his versatility are what make him one of the best players in the Long Island Electric Football League. He's been doing it for five straight seasons! The Kansas City Chiefs front line started to really surge forward on the Ravens defense as Preist Holmes chipped away at the Raven front line as he ran for another first down. Holmes put together 24 yards in four runs, quite a contrast from what he's produced in the last two games, but Coach McQueen said is determined to get this Holmes back to his playing standard, and vowed to give him the ball more with 5:33 remaining in the half as the Chief steamroll ahead with another 6-yard run on first down! And a Chiefs line blew open a hole on the right hand side of the line as Holmes practically walked into the end zone 33-yard touchdown, untouched to make the score 7-7, with 2:05 left to go in the half as the clock winds down on the Ravens kickoff when Derek Mason took the ball back 58 yards to the Chiefs 42-yard-line. On their first running play the Chiefs defense stuffed Ravens running back Jamal Lewis of the at the line of scrimmage on a great tackle by Bobby Bell as the first half comes to an end with the score tied at 7-7! As the Ravens front-line pushes forward on third down Jamal Lewis ran for five yards to the chiefs 20-yard line to pick up another first down on a huge play for the Chucker with 10:34 left to go in this fast moving game. The defense for the Kansas City Chiefs came up big on first down for a 15-yard loss as the Ravens were pushed back to the 36-yard line. McQueen had his team ready as the Chiefs defense really came alive pushing the Ravens back another 10 yards, stuffing Jamal Lewis to the ground on a heavy tackle by Chiefs defensive end Willie Lanier at midfield, forcing a third down for the Ravens with 7:43 left to go in this exciting game! On a the next play, quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a great fade pass to Raven tailback Mark Ingram who blew the doors off of the Chiefs defenders as he took it in to the end-zone for a 48 yard touchdown up the left side of the Chiefs sideline to score the touchdown making the score 14-7, with 5:40 left to go in the game as the Ravens take the lead! On a quick kick-return by Tyreek Hill for 38-yards, he was plastered by Ravens defensive tackle Tony "The Goose" Siragusa with 4:33 left to go in the game! On second down Priest Holmes busted out with a 62-yard touchdown run on second down, silencing a shocked group of EFL onlookers! What a play to tie the game 14-14,with 1:55 left to go as the clock wound down fast! When the job absolutely, positively, must get done the Ravens give the ball to their number one guy, Pro-Bowler Derek Mason, who returned the ball 66 yards to seal the deal for Baltimore as these Ravens kicked a field-goal as they let the clock run down at 33 seconds left to go in the game. The Ravens walked off the field undefeated as they pull off a 17-14 victory as the Chucker jumped in the air screaming, "Yeah baby!" After the game, Coach McQueen said, "I got to hand it to Derek Mason he single-handily beat us today, but I saw a lot of great things from my team too in our loss. We showed a lot of progress. We got our running back involved in the game and I really think we're going to be okay." The Chucker said after the game, "How about them Ravens? I told you I know the weaknesses of every coach in this league and beating the Chiefs brings us just one step closer to the goal for my team. As I always say, don't take it personally we're here to win!" The Baltimore Ravens (3-0) head to Washington and then to division rival Pittsburgh. Derrick Mason shook the Chiefs with 3 returns for 224 yards and a touchdown! The Chiefs will go back to Kansas City to play the hot New England Patriots. Priest Holmes busted out with 125 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and a gorgeous 60-yard touchdown run!
  2. PACKERS DEFENSIVE HANDS SAINTS LOSS IN HURRICANE LAURA BOWL! HURRICANE LAURA BOWL. September 3, 2020. New Orleans Superdome. The Hurricane Bowl is what we are calling this intense NFC match-up between the Green Bay Packers (2-0), and the New Orleans Saints (1-1). It's the battle of the coaches. The Master of Preparation in Coach Eddie Viggs against the spoiler, Coach Paddy Brannigan, who is fresh off of a loss between his Seahawks and Rookie Coach, Levi Vick's Cowboys in which Dallas won 21-14! Coach Eddie Viggs has his Green Bay Packers (2-0), so fired up this year, especially for the New Orleans Saints. You see, these two teams have held a grudge against each other dating back some time. It isn't really the coaches, its the magic of whatever these plastic figures do on the game-board which owns the meaning of "grudge" for whatever it's worth. This grudge-match goes back to 1978, in a game we remember well, when the Green Bay Packers lost to the New Orleans Saints 35-33, in the NFC Wild Card Game! We even wrote the temperature down outside for some crazy reason as we looked back at the original paperwork. Their was more than 20 inches of snow on the ground. It was 10 degrees! That is really cold for Long Island. That year the New Orleans Saints and Coach Brannigan lost to Billy O'C's Dolphins in LIEFL-Super Bowl IV, in a close one, 34-28! New Orleans has rebuilt with one goal in mind obviously, but Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner said, "The Saints are good, but their is something missing. The front three need work and the Saints coach really needs to go for two lineman in the Draft if he can trade off for them." Coach Eddie Viggs never forgot that loss to the Saints, and neither did Coach Brannigan forget the win. Coach Viggs said, "New Orleans is as rough and mean as their coach, but my Pack is Back! Let's see if we can pull one off today. Brannigan's Seahawks just lost to Dallas, so maybe I can give him two for Thursday!" Brannigan had no comment before this game. THE GAME: Green Bay Packers (2-0) vs. New Orleans Saints (1-1). Before the game began the two coaches shook hands which is not usual for the league, but it was a nice gesture. There was tension in the air and the nervousness from both sides because one loss can mean a huge setback in the league. Coach Brannigan had a huge setback earlier in the day with his Seahawks, but he had to move past that loss to focus on this game. New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush took the opening kick-return back 41-yards as the holes downfield were completely closed off by the Green Bay defensive unit as the Packers made their own statement that they are boss in the NFC! Bush was shut down on the first rushing attempt and on the second run. It got no better for New Orleans as the Saints lost a total 16-yards in two plays. The Packers defensive line has earned some respect this season allowing only seven points. They mean business. They put so much pressure on the Saints on third down that New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was forced to throw the ball away. The Saints punted on fourth down and denied themselves the opportunity to score on their first drive. Big mistake! When you make mistakes against Coach Viggs, payback is relentless! Green Bay's emerging star Sterling Sharpe took back an electrifying 69-yard run to the New Orleans Saints 31-yard line which stunned Coach Brannigan as he looked on helplessly as the game was getting away from him. Two plays later, the Green Bay Packers on an electrifying pass play from Aaron Rodgers to Don Hutson from 50-yards away, lit up the scoreboard 7-0 Packers, with 3:07 left to go in the half as first blood is drawn! As the first half came to a close New Orleans Reggie Bush had a 16-yard run, bringing the ball to the Green Bay 30-yard line to open the second half. And after a 5-yard gain on first down the Packer defense put up a wall of white jersey's serving Bush a 10-yard loss, bringing the ball back to the Saints own 37-yard line. The Saints rose to the challenge as was predicted from both of these teams in the Pre-Game hype, and on third down New Orleans tight end Jeremy Shockey shook free and took a beautiful 37-yard pass from Drew Brees into the end zone to tie the score at 7-7! On the following kickoff-return Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe shut down the Saints momentum as he blazed downfield for a 55-yard return to set-up Packers running back Terdell Middleton with 8:54 left to go in the game on first down. After being stopped on first down, Middleton ran into his own teammate Reggie White and he was knocked to the turf in a spoiler at the 45-yard-line, bringing it to third down for Green Bay. What an intense battle as the Packers on third down took it all the way down field on an Aaron Rodgers dump pass to Middleton who scored on a scorching touchdown run from 55-yards away, silencing the New Orleans crowd with time running out and 2:53 left to go in the game! On the kick-return Reggie Bush returned the ball 51 yards for the Saints to the Green Bay 49. In 1-minute EFL clock-countdown mode, Drew Brees fired a pass to Marcus Colston whose hands the game rested in, and he just couldn't get the job done. Colston and the New Orleans Saints came up 16 yards short of the touchdown to tie the game, as Saints (1-2) instead lose to the undefeated Green Bay Packers 14-10! No spoiler today! The Saints have to now go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate their receiving situation, which at the moment seems to be their weakness. The Saints next two games will not get any easier in this league. The "ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY" as New Orleans play at Detroit (2-1) and Denver(2-1) both on the road! Wow! Coach Viggs and his Packers are at war with the league until they face a challenger who can beat them! Viggs said, "We have been to the Super Bowl and both times lost, but this time my team is not going to settle until we face a "Battle at Okay Corral " again. The Packers remain undefeated at (3-0)! Viggs continued, this was a really good match-up. I actually thought we'd keep it close but my offense got the better of the Saints today and Coach Brannigan played a great game." Brannigan had no comment. The Packers are on a roll! They go home for three straight games against tremendous teams, Atlanta (2-1), Chicago (2-1), and the Carolina Panthers (1-2), all potential playoff teams! ReplyForward
  3. OWENS AND DALLAS SHOCKS SEATTLE IN THE "HOSTILE CITY" IN AN INCREDIBLE GAME! September 3, 2020. Seattle,Washington. (Pre-Game) On any given week in the Long Island Electric Football League, the excellent coaching and calculation is important, just as it is in most leagues with our EFL brothers united in the hobby around the world. We can expect almost anything to happen regardless of a team's record. With all the turmoil and crisis going on in Seattle and throughout the country these days, electric football is a way to bring calm to get away from the stress of watching the news. It's crunch time however, in the Long Island Electric Football League 2020 season as we approach the midway point to the Granddaddy of them all, LIEFL Super Bowl XVI, to be held in Tampa December 15, 2020, with big prize winnings! The post-season picture, as to the 12 teams who will compete for the trophy is becoming a little more clear, and for Coach Levi Vick's Dallas Cowboys, they most certainly will not be one of them. They may end up 3-4 or 4-3, but the intensity of the NFC East may get the better of them as this game with the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) happens today. To start the season 0-3, is next to impossible to come back from. Everyone in the division would have to have the same close records in order for Dallas to see the post season in 2020. Vick said, "We have one of the toughest schedules in the league this season, the battle is real and the bottom line is, I need to perform and so do the Cowboys. I just have to keep pressing on and make good choices for the Boys. Terrell Owens will have a big day today and I still believe in my front line!" Owens has totaled 334 yards with two touchdowns already in two games, so Seattle must rattle him early or the game could be closer than Seattle Coach Brannigan thinks it will be. Seattle Seahawks Marshawn Lynch has 449 total yards with four touchdowns in two games for the Hawks, 257 of the yards are rushing yards against Atlanta and New England, so his ability to perform against a rough Cowboys defense is crucial today. Last week Lynch ran for 139 yards with two touchdowns, and he set this year's longest run record thus far with his 76 yard touchdown run against New England. Coach Paddy Brannigan said, "I feel a blow-out today! When we play our home games, it's our bread-and-butter, and I actually practiced this week in my down time from the craziness in New York City theses days. I am unleashing the BEAST today and giving Lynch full range of the field, but watch out for Joey Galloway too. We can't stand the Cowboys so this one will be a big game for us. Coach Vick is coming along, but with Lynch, watch-out!" If the Seahawks win today, they tie with the Rams and Cardinals for first place in the toughest division in the LIEFL, the NFC West. THE GAME: Dallas Cowboys (0-2) vs. Seattle Seahawks (1-1) On the opening kickoff Dallas defensive end Leon Lett made a tremendous high-impact hit on Seahawks All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch at the 29-yard line to start the game. That hit could sends chills down the back! Cowboys Coach Levi Vick sent a silent message that he has his unpredictable Cowboys ready for the challenge today. On the first set of downs, Seattle's front-line kicked in as Lynch ran for 10, 10, and 6 yards, as Seattle battled for a first down. The Cowboy defense hit hard and fast as they forced Seattle to pass on third down. Lynch could only get 1 yard on the third down pass reception as a slew of Cowboys made the tackle, forcing a 4th and 3 play for the Seahawks with 6:41 left to go in the half! On fourth down defensive tackle Randy White came up huge with his third tackle of the game at the 50-yard line for a 7-yard loss for the Seahawks. Coach Brannigan's play calling on this run could be costly for Seattle. Seriously, one play can cost a team a season! On the Cowboys first play from scrimmage running back Emmitt Smith picked up a 17-yard gain with a lot of pushing and shoving of the men on the field as things are not quite going the way Coach Brannigan had planned. The war is on between the two coaches, and the will to win may turn into a break out day for LIEFL rookie coach Levi Vick. In one play, Vick's Cowboys line and Emmitt Smith burned the Seattle defense with a big 33-yard run into the end-zone for the first score of the game Dallas 7-0, with 2:43 left to go and a half! Brannigan kept edging Vick on into a war of words, but Vick stayed focused on the game and said, "Just play the game and look at the scoreboard." Coach Levi Vick studied Seattle very carefully obviously, as Randy White came up huge on defense beating both Seattle tackles Joe Nash and Garry Gilliam off the ball, crunching the tackles with his speed and power. Each time White set up, Seattle avoided his side on the run. The Seahawks were very successful running the ball to the opposite side of White though. On first down from the 50-yard line, Marshawn Lynch unleashed an incredible 50-yard touchdown run, slicing a hole right through the middle of the Cowboys front three to answer by tying the score 7-7, with 14:42 remaining in the game! After a nice kick return by the Cowboys Terrell Owens for 41-yards, Emmitt Smith ran a busting 44-yard run to the Seattle 15-yard line to set up the next Cowboys score! Suddenly, these Dallas Cowboys have found their heart on the road in the city as the momentum has turned around with the Cowboys chasing the lead with 11:35 left to go in the game. One thing for sure is that these Cowboys are not ready to lay down their season for anybody, as they suddenly have a will to win the game. Levi Vick is also showing his coaching skills coming over from another League. Vick showed true character in this game as he commits to working through the growing pains withstanding the competition in a very positive way. There's no stopping Emmitt Smith in big games and on the Cowboys next play, Smith scored his second touchdown of the game on a 4-yard run, every inch of it earned, as the Dallas Cowboys take the lead on the road in a hostile territory 14-7, with 6:55 remaining in the game! The Seahawks went back and forth on the kick-returns getting both Joey Galloway and Steve Largent involved in the game. On this return Largent set-up Lynch at their own 45. On another explosive run on first down, Marshawn Lynch took a 56-yard run through the middle of the field to tie the game at 14-14, with 3:48 left to go in the game, and what a game it is turned into! Oh my God! As if the game was not exciting enough, kick-returner Terrell Owens with blazing speed got a little help from Bob Lilly at the 45-yard line to turn Owens across the field as Owens turned it up, running the ball in for a hundred yard touchdown on an absolutely amazing run! Dallas took the lead 21-14, with 2:20 left to go in the game as the clock was running out on the Seahawks! And on the last two plays of the game Seattle's Steve Largent brought the ball back 45-yards on the kick-return. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, faded back on first down in a race against the clock to complete a pass to tie the score at 21, but he was denied as the ball fell just short of receiver Joey Galloway as Paddy Brannigan's Seattle Seahawks (1-2) lose in a major upset to the Dallas Cowboys 21-14, giving the Cowboys their first win of the season! What a game! Dallas Terrell Owens raised his game with 141 yards and the game winning touchdown! Running back Emmitt Smith had 105 yards rushing with two touchdowns, and Seattle's Marshawn Lynch had 161 total yards, 132 of the yards from rushing! Seattle goes to play the undefeated 2019 AFC Champion, Miami Dolphins next week in week#4, and for Dallas, suddenly, they could turn their entire season around as they play Cleveland, Washington, and San Francisco in Dallas until finally, they head to the Meadowlands in New Jersey to play what might be the biggest game of the season against Coach Joey Pizz' New York Giants! Boy did they get this one wrong in the Pre-Game write up! Coach Levi Vick said, "Don't count me or my teams out of any race. I read what was written before the game that, the battle for the trophy is becoming a little more clear, 'and for Coach Levi Vick's Dallas Cowboys, they most certainly will not be one of them.' They really got that wrong! And, don't forget we have Owens and Smith who are tearing it up in the league so we are not going out without a fight, or without ruining other team's playoff hopes. I don't mind being the underdog!"
  4. LIONS BUSSY STUNS CARDINALS WITH 242 YARD PERFORMANCE IN MAJOR UPSET IN OT! September 1, 2020. Phoenix, Arizona. When Dexter Bussy was Long Island Electric Football League's Player of the Week in Week#1, it was evident that he was going to reach new heights, but today was special! What a tremendous match-up between two serious competitors in Coach Johnny "Freeport-Chucker" Lafromboise's Detroit Lions against Kevin "The Mac" Maloney's undefeated high-flying Arizona Cardinals (2-0). For the Cardinals this is like deja vu going back to Coach "Mac's" 2019 season when they were 5-0, until they lost their last three games of the season. To prevent that from happening this year the Cardinals coach said he vows to play one second at a time. The Lions have played some intense football on the other hand. They never quit! The three-time consecutive NFC finalist have lots to prove about being undone in this league. In 2016, Coach Chucker won LIEFL Super Bowl XII 42-17, beating the pants off of "Mac's" Patriots at the time. Now Levi Vick coaches them. Slawson's Corner analytical expert and Long Island Sports Hall of Fame inductee Andrew Slawson said, "Anytime Detroit's Dexter Bussy is playing opposing coaches better have a game plan because this guy can wreck a team and blow your game plans. He's just unpredictable and when he's hot, nobody is going to stop him. I have been watching him for years and what I have seen him do almost seems like he's human. It is crazy that a game can bring that much excitement after all these years." Detroit Coach, the Freeport-Chucker said of Slawson, "This guy always gets my games wrong because he thinks I am a hot head, but we will see who the hot head is today when I pull an upset on Mac. He's got me wrong, I am not only a better coach but I know the weaknesses of every coach in this league and that is how I devise my strategy to win." THE PLAY-BY-PLAY: Detroit Lions (1-1) vs. Arizona Cardinals(2-0) On the opening kickoff Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald took the ball back 41-yards in his second game returning kicks. On the Cardinal's first run, OJ Anderson and the offensive line of the Cardinals worked hard downfield with runs of 10, 6, another 10, another 6-yards until finally he burst through a Dan Deirdoff hole for a sweet 28-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-0 Arizona, with 7:24 left to go and a half! On the kickoff for the Lions Dexter Bussy flew downfield taking the ball back 48-yards. After a 7-yard pickup LIEFL All-Pro Lineman Danny Deirdoff made a sensational tackle at the Cardinals 47-yard line to stop Bussy from scoring a touchdown. Third down Detroit as the excitement builds. What a game! With 12 seconds left to go in the half, Bussy ran an electrifying 38-yard touchdown through the left side of the line behind the big LIEFL All-Pro tackle Lomas Brown, as the Lions tie the game 7-7, to end of first half! The excitement could be felt in the room as Arizona's Mel Gray returned the ball 58-yards to start the second half. Gray has been slowed up with a sore ankle so he's been switching return duties with Larry Fitzgerald. The Lions defense stepped up big on Arizona's first possession of the second half, stopping OJ Anderson on his first two runs. Then on third down quarterback Ty Murray aired it out a 44-yard touchdown pass to Gray with 9:16 left to go in the game to give the (2-0) Arizona Cardinals a 14-7 lead! Detroit's LIEFL All-Pro running back Dexter Bussy wasn't about to quit on the road down 14-7, and instead he riled his team up to play like Champions. Bussy returned a 35-yard kick and then the Lions frontline got going with Bussy runs of 6-yards and then on third down Detroit was forced to pass. Coach Chucker knows he has two of the best receivers in our league in Herman Moore who has a record 6 LIEFL Super Bowl touchdowns, and Calvin Johnson, who has 3 LIEFL Super Bowl touchdowns. As Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford stepped into the pocket, he threw a great pass to the All-Pro Johnson, but Mel Gray hung with him side-by-side stopping Johnson from scoring a touchdown, for a 20-yard Detroit pickup and a first down at the Cardinals 39-yard line with 4 minutes remaining in the game. With time running out in the game the Lions are forced to pass on first down. Stafford threw another strike, this time for 30-yards to Herman Moore as Moore takes it to the Arizona 10-yard-line. The very next play with just seconds to go in the game Calvin Johnson scored on a 10-yard pop-pass for a Detroit touchdown to tie the score at 14-14, as the game clock runs out of time. We are in overtime with Detroit winning the coin toss in the making of a huge UPSET! Coach Chucker raised his fist in the air and Coach Mac was in disbelief watching his Cardinals deflate! In an unbelievable turn of events Detroit won the overtime coin toss. The Lions roared right down field 30-yards on a Dexter Bussy kick return, but it is what Coach Chucker did next that opened eyes against an outstanding Arizona Cardinals electric football team. In one play the Freeport-Chucker decided to go to the air, but he faked Mac out to over-cover Moore and Johnson, and instead Bussy took the ball 70-yards for a Detroit Football Lions dramatic touchdown, game over in 2:49 of overtime! Detroit (2-1), 20-14, over Arizona (2-1)! "Never count the Lions out," said Chucker! This was a huge win for the Lions and it puts Arizona in a tough spot. Coach Mac said, "Better to lose now then the playoffs, but we will be back, and maybe next time there will be a different outcome. You have to give it to Bussy. He is absolutely amazing!" Dexter Bussy and the Lions are on fire! Bussy had a total 242-yards in the game, 51 rushing yards, 113 on kick returns, and a 70 yard touchdown catch to win the game. Bussy now has 27 carries for 814 yards, with 7 touchdowns on the season going into Week#4 LIEFL battle with the tough New Orleans Saints (1-1) at home! The Arizona Cardinals (2-1) will have to regroup and refocus on the road as they play one of their toughest games of the year in a rematch of the 2019 LIEFL NFC Divisional Championship Game, which they lost 38-35 in OT to the Carolina Panthers! This could be a season to remember in the Long Island Electric Football League as the competition grows!
  5. CHICAGO BEARS ON THE MOVE WITH GAULT'S 229 YARDS UPSET OVER UNDEFEATED FALCONS 20-14 IN OT! (This was an actual photo--artistically FROZEN IN FRAME). In the running for Long Island Electric Football League's Player of the Week for WEEK#3 is Chicago's speedster Willie Gault (Running on the edge to get the Bears the first down!). Gault surprised the tough undefeated Atlanta Falcons on the Falcons home-turf in Chicago's upset road-win 20-14 in OT! Gault was sensational with his explosion of 229 yards in the game. He had a hundred yard kick-return and touchdown! The Bears rose to #6 in the 2020, LIEFL-Rankings, and Gault has risen to the number three guy in the LIEFL NFC with 660 all-purpose yards with four touchdowns, three of them 100-yarders! 6. BRONCOS DAVIS SHOWS MUSCLE IN BEATING OVER TAMPA BAY 21-14! September 1, 2020. Denver Colorodo. PRE_GAME: We full well realize that we probably do these write-ups for ourselves to read, but keep in mind all of the visuals are as they are happening. If for nothing else, Tudor has allowed our history to be part of their history! Every season in the Long Island Electric Football League the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Coach Pizz seems to come out with a burst of energy. The only criticism the Bucs seem to warrant is that they need to finish strong. This team has immense history dating back to 1977-78 when Pizz nearly beat Billy O'C's Miami Dolphins in the first Round, but the Bucs lost in a tight 7-3 game! That was back when the LIEFL had 4 divisions and two conferences. That conference is now known as NFC! Fast-Forward to today's Buccaneers--they are much better than that 77' team, but the league has grown and the talent has improved. Today's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) and the Denver Broncos (1-1) are both owned by Coach Pizz so the Buccaneers will be played by the wild Joe "Bino" who is the alternate coach! Denver is another team that has not been able to break out and make a Super Bowl and one of the main reasons is because they can't get over that hump! So at least when these two teams take the field today the guy who has risen to the occasion most has been Tampa Bay's Ricky Bell along with Jimmy Giles who have charged the offensive power of the team. Playing in Denver will be a tremendous challenge for Tampa Bay on the road as the Broncos came so close to making the playoffs last year are they lost the final game of the season to division rival the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos are hell-bent on making the playoffs for the first time since 1992. That's 28-years! The Broncos Terrell Davis has been a beast this season, with an offensive and defensive group of players who have the potential to make a Super Bowl if the momentum is right. Davis comes into the game with 21 carries for 545 yards with four touchdowns, two of them 100-yard returns! Coach Pizz said, "It has taken three straight season's to get to the point I am at with these Broncos. They are the real deal, but I don't want to be overly optimistic with all of the great coaches and teams in the league. This league has at least 24 teams that can win a Super Bowl, so it is too early to say anything more. I will say we will talk on the scoreboard. It is a shame I have to play my own team in Tampa Bay because I love watching Jimmy Giles and Ricky Bell go to work." The alternate coach Joe Bino seemed his usual self, excited to play. Bino said, "I said it before and here I am saying it again, I have no allegiance to any one team. I come here to win!" Bino will play Pizz again next week as Denver meets the New York Jets. Out of all the teams in the AFC Denver may be the best team to give the Chargers, the Bills and the Dolphins a run for their money. THE GAME: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) vs. Denver Broncos (1-1). The Broncos wasted no time running the ball back 59-yards as Terrell Davis made his way to the Tampa Bay 41-yard line. That terrific Bronco line opened up huge gaps in the Buccaneers line for Davis as he ran for 9, 30, and a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Broncos the lead 7-0, with 10:39 left to go in the half! On the Bucs first kickoff All-Pro Jimmy Giles, took the ball back 40-yards as he was hit head-on by special teams player Rob Lytle as we could hear the impact of the hit with six people watching the game. Giles has been a gamer for Coach Pizz and he made an amazing pick in the 2019 Draft selecting Giles in the first round. The Orange Crush defense continues as the Bucs lose 15-yards on their first run. On third down Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston threw a rocket to Jimmy Giles who took it 86-yards downfield for the touchdown 7-7, with 4:02 left to go in the half! Giles set this year's record for the longest pass reception for a touchdown! What a game and what a play! Giles road the sidelines with Ed McCaffrey chasing him. Keep in mind these photos are taken as the play is happening. On the ensuing kick-return Denver's Terrell Davis, who's having a sensational year, exploded for a hundred yard kick return to make the score 14-7 Broncos, with 2:47 left to go in the half! This is a heck of a football game! To start the second half it didn't take long to figure out that the Broncos defense is relentless as they stopped Tampa Bay from getting the ground game on, as they lose 12 yards after once again. The Bucs and Winston had to rely on the passing game and on third down Dave Moore caught a 21-yard first down to bring the ball to the Denver 47-yard line. The buccaneers had their eyes set on tying the game with 12:09 left to go. The Broncos were just relentless as they pushed Ricky Bell back 14-yards for another loss as Neil Smith buries running back Ricky Bell into the dirt. The Broncos have been in the backfield the entire game showing off that LIEFL NFL league-leading defense from last year! The Broncos defense stopped the Bucs again, this time at the 44-yard line as Denver forces a third down and a running play as Tamopa Bay missed their passing opportunity. The Bucs punted the ball away to a waiting Terrell Davis as he took the punt back 60-yards into Buccaneer territory at the 40-yard line with 6:34 left to go in the game! That mistake by Joe Bino of not getting the first down for Tampa Bay may end up being very costly. On the next run Davis started running right, and then he sliced back left for a 22-yard pick up. Davis was on fire as he ran the ball to the Tampa Bay 18-yard line for the first down. The Broncos are without question, playing playoff-style football as they pummeled a very good Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. If there ever was a time to gauge inside the organization, this was the time to see what Tampa Bay needed to improve playing against these Broncos as we watch Davis bust into the end-zone from 18 yards away to score his third rushing touchdown of the game to make the score 21-7 Denver, with 3:41 left to go in the game! On an amazing kick return Jimmy Giles took the ball back 89-yards as he ran out of bounds at the 11-yard-line. Two plays later, Ricky Bell scored his only touchdown of the game from 11 yards out has Tampa Bay takes a beating from the Denver Broncos 21-14! Denver's Terrell Davis had 300 total yards on 8 carries with three touchdowns giving him. Davis has 845 total yards for the season with seven touchdowns! What a day for Davis! Tampa Bay's Jimmy Giles continues to set records for the Buccaneers. He went four carries for 258 yards with an 86 yard touchdown! Denver (2-1) is on the road at the New York Jets (1-2), and Tampa Bay plays at home against the Los Angeles Chargers (2-1) in what will be a huge game!

  11. COLTS DOMINATE JETS IN IMPRESSIVE 17-6 WIN! August 31, 2020. Indianapolis, IN. PREGAME SHOW: Week #3 continues to press on in the Longs Island Electric Football League as the New York Jets (1-1) and Coach Joey Pizz met with his rival, Coach Billy O'C and his undefeated Indianapolis Colts (2-0). It's hard in this league when every single game you play is a huge battle, but we believe we have made this league incredibly lifelike so that our coaches feel the stress of being a coach and a player at the same time if that makes sense. That's our love for the game and we are sure that everybody gets that same feeling, but when you're in a league with so many people it really makes for a purposeful experience. Each coach grows to playing at different levels beginning with painting the team, professionally decaling the team, and finally, winning your players in a draft which is ongoing every year. That's what makes the league so exciting, not to mention there's a bonus at the end if you can win it all. The Jets had their run in 2008, when they won a 32-team New York City tournament by beating the LIEFL's opponent's New York Giants, 7-0!. Here we are in 2020, and the transitioning Jets have only seen the playoffs one time since 2000. This year after winning a number of players in the draft, the Coach Pizz' New York Jets have come alive with a tremendous defense and a stable offense. Where the season takes them nobody will know until the end. The Indianapolis Colts on the other hand have been built with greatness. Running back Joseph Addai had an amazing season last year. He led the Colts to the AFC Wild Card Game where they were upset by the then Oakland Raiders 38-34! The Colts fell short again of their goal of winning the AFC championship. Being undefeated at the moment has its advantages. It gives Indianapolis a little flexibility to try new things, and you can bet Coach O'C is going to open it up on New York and Pizz. Raymond Berry has become a big star over the last few seasons and he does it silently, when the Colts need him. Let's see what happens in today's game as it should be a fierce battle! The Game: New York Jets (1-1) vs. Indianapolis Colts (2-0) The Colts came out on fire as a Addai returned a 48-yards blastoff! The offense kicked in Immediately as Addai pushed forward behind a very tough offensive line gaining another 8-yards before scoring on a 45-yard touchdown blast through the left side of the Jets line to make the score 7-0 Colts, with 7:13 left to go in the half. The Jets took over on a kickoff return by Wesley Walker who ran back a beautiful 57-yard scamper to the Indianapolis 43-yard-line. And the action for the New York offense stopped right there as the Colts defense, led by Bubba Smith put the Jets in a third-down situation after stopping Bruce Harper on two consecutive running plays. On third-down Raymond Berry saved the day for the Colts nearly tackling quarterback Sam Darnell at the 28 yard-line for the sack, but instead Darnell threw the ball away, forcing a fourth-down and a 45-yard field goal attempt through the upright to make the score 7-3 Indianapolis, with 5:22 left to go in the half! And after an explosive yard kick return by Addai, he busted loose for an electrifying 60-yard touchdown scamper right down the middle of the field to make the score 14-3, Colts. Addai had a huge day! These Colts are for real! They came out here from the get-go to make these tough Jets pay! The Jets on their kick-return came right back with a stunning Wesley Walker 92-yard kick return with 1:43 left to go in the half. On the first run Bruce Harper lost 32 yards to a ferocious Indianapolis Colts defense led by defensive lineman Bubba Smith The Jets ran into a dead-end and a crippling defensive wall by Indianapolis as New York lost 10 more yards. The Jets were pinned against the wall on 3rd down as the Colts made them pay. Coach Billy O'C kept forging ahead, playing an exceptional football game. If Indianapolis plays like this for the rest of the year they're going to be very dangerous team in the playoffs! And on another fourth down defense rose to the occasion nearly sacking quarterback Sam Darnell in the backfield, but Darnell threw the ball away before the Colts could make the tackle in the backfield. The Jets kicked a 55-yard field goal to make the score 14-6 Colts, with 12:38 left to go in the game. The Colts were relentless as Joseph took back a 47 yard kick-return. Addai and the Colts offense stayed on the attack, rushing forward with a 5-yard and 13-yard run for a first down at the jet 35-yard line with 7:24 left to go in the game with time running down out for the Jets. Addai broke free on the Colts next play with another 21-yard first down right through the left tackle and right past New York Jets tackle Marvin Powell, to the New York 9-yard line with the clock running out at 4:53 remaining in the game. Joey Pizz' Jets defense hung tough as tackle Marty Lyons came up with a big play at the 23-yard-line, stopping Joseph Addai behind the line of scrimmage, bringing it to 3rd down for the Colts with 2:10 remaining in the game! The Jets held back Addai from scoring again to their credit, as the Colts turn a (3-0) record into one of their best season's to date beating the New York Jets (1-2), 17-6, in a very good game by both teams! Indianapolis All-Pro Joseph Addai broke loose for 14 carries with 302 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns! He keeps getting better as the season progresses. What a game next week in Week#4 as the undefeated Colts play Coach Paddy Brannigan's high-octane red hot Chicago Bears (2-1) in Chicago at historic Soldier Field! That will be a full-house on hand to watch that game! The Jets face the Denver Broncos at the Meadowlands in another great match-up as the Long Island Electric Football League heats up!
  12. CHARGERS PLAY BIG IN WIN OVER PANTHERS 21-14! August 31, 2020. Los Angeles California. THE PREGAME SHOW: Well, well, welcome to September! This Long Island Electric Football League game today matters more than people in this league may think! There are goals to be met, business to take care of, and a team on the verge of going beyond the NFC Championship in this league. Anytime you have a two-time NFC finalist, back-to-back, it raises eye-brows in the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers lost a very tough game at Tampa Bay last week 21-17, and that is a small setback, but they have to play this game in Los Angeles like a playoff game or their season could make a quick turn for the worst, as Matt "Zoo-York" McQueen's Panthers face Coach Eddie Viggs' Los Angeles Chargers. McQueen said, "I am not going to panic and I have been planning for this game mentally since the beginning of the season when I laid out the schedule. We come from different divisions so I can show more in this game against Viggs because it is unlikely we will meet anytime soon, but if we do, I have lots of weapons. My Panthers are a triple threat team. My line is going to have to slow down LT early on and force the pass and I expect them to be able to do that." The Chargers are going in the direction few go in this league, and that is, past the AFC title. They are the favorite to light up the AFC! The money is on the line! Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson, the 2019 AFC Offensive Player of the Year, leads the AFC in rushing with 267 yards and 4 touchdowns going into Week#3, and Los Angeles is a team to be reckoned with at (1-1). Their entire season is resting on the next two games versus Tampa Bay on the road and Buffalo at home in a heated rematch of the AFC Divisional Championship Game in which the Bills beat the Chargers 49-48! That game will be a full house! And then the Chargers face their last two games on the road against division rivals, Oakland and Kansas City, so this will be a war-torn season which requires tremendous preparation. Coach Viggs, the LIEFL Master of Preparation said, "You need to understand that I am not looking ahead at all. Leave that to Slawson's Corner. We have an outstanding football team and coach to play today. We have to rise to playoff level electric football in order to even think about the next game. Carolina is a tough team in more than one ways. We have to figure out how to stop Greg Jones and if we can slow down the Panthers field position, we will take advantage of that. Jones has 332-yards with two one-hundred yard touchdowns on kick returns. He's lethal! They have taken their game to new heights with Jones, and DeShaun Foster is one of the most dangerous backs in the league. Do you see our focus now?" THE GAME: Carolina Panthers (1-1) vs Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) On the opening kickoff, LaDainian Tomlinson only took the ball back only 35-yards, but the Chargers showed who's boss today on their home-turf as the offensive line kicked right in with Tomlinson runs of 1, 8, 2, and finally a 45 yard touchdown run to give the Chargers the 7-0 lead, with 9:20 left to go in the half on a beautiful touchdown sweep past All-Pro Guard Ernie Ladd! The Panthers returned the kick with Greg Jones for 43-yards to give the Carolina great field position to open their first possession. And four plays later running back DeShaun Foster skillfully took a 29-yard scamper into the end zone to tie the game at 7-7, with 1:47 left to go in the half! Los Angeles is on a mission just like Carolina. After a gorgeous 51 yard kick return by Kellen Winslow, on the first play of the second half Tomlinson took it 49 yards into the end-zone for Los Angeles, making the score 14-7, with 14:40 left to go in on a spectacular explosive run with 9:31 left to go in the game! The intensity level has risen to a boiling point. Coach Ed Viggs seemed to figure out specialist Greg Jones for the Panthers. Jones was stopped in his tracks by the Chargers at the 39-yard line. Finally, a team who can slow him down a little bit as coach Viggs promised. But on two straight runs DeShaun Foster ran for 20 and 18 yards down to the Los Angeles 19-yard line. Foster was determined and three plays later, Foster ran in his second touchdown of the game to tie the score 14-14 with 5:41 left to go in the game! What a powerhouse display of football for both teams. The Panthers couldn't slow down the running game of the Chargers as time was running out. Kellen Winslow came up HUGE for Los Angeles with a big 63-yard kick return! With 13 seconds left on the clock quarterback Philip Rivers faded to the right and threw a cross pattern pass into the reliable hands of Lance Alsworth for a 28-yard touchdown to win the game, 21-14! What a fast-paced game for both teams. Coach Viggs said, "I knew going into the game I was going to be distributing the ball equally and I got Winslow and Alsworth involved and that was the difference in the game. Those two have not seen much action because LT has been our offense with this great offensive line. LT scored two touchdowns and when you have two of the same type of runs for 45 yards or more, that's going to be a big problem for any defense." Coach McQueen on the other end said, "This guy is like a clever fox, you have to out-fox him. He really knows how to plan for a football game. I think we played great and that wasn't good enough. I tried to get the game into overtime, but Viggs knew how to control the ball. There's nothing wrong with my Panthers. They are a great football team. We just didn't have luck on our side today and now it's like a wrestling match in the wrestle-backs, we are fighting our way back to win our division at a disadvantage, but my Panthers are the best (1-2) team in the NFC! " Both teams play it at a playoff level today. And they're going to need to do that for the rest of the season as the Long Island Electric Football League heats up!
