  1. SEAHAWKS LYNCH 76-YARD TOUCHDOWN RUN BURIES PATRIOTS! Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch (24) explodes for a 76-yard touchdown run to give Seattle the advantage against a tough New England Patriots team. August 21, 2020. Seattle,Washington. Football should have no politics. The Long Island Electric football league has its challenges in many ways. In 2016 during the early stages of our 7-game season format, the New England Patriots were one of the best teams that year. In fact they won the AFC championship and made it to LIEFL Super Bowl XII, losing to the battle-harned NFC Detroit Lions 42-17 in a Lion romp! On paper it was a great match-up but once Detroit's Dexter Bussy got hot, it was over. The Patriots have been steady in the East Division, but they haven't been able to get back to the a better performing team then what won them that AFC Championship in 2016. Coach Levi Vick said, "I am frustrated with this team, but I love the guys on the team. Kevin Faulk was named All-Pro by the coaches, and I have made some changes since last week. I just don't want to see them bow to Miami or Buffalo. We should be able to beat those teams, and we should play the Jets hard too. Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner said, "With their backs against the wall the Patriots face a tough Seattle Seahawks team and the resurgence of the Seahawks offense with running back Marshawn Lynch, makes Seattle a fearsome team to be playing on the road. Don't forget, last week Seattle lost to Atlanta 17-14, but Lynch unleashed 118 yards rushing with two touchdowns! He also had an explosive 59 yard touchdown run in that game, so the Patriots have their hands full, and I don't think they will stop #24 today." Coach Paddy Brannigan has his Seahawks ready! "Yeah baby! We want that jackpot at the end of the season and I think this team has a shot," said Brannigan. On the opening kickoff Seattle All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch took the ball back 37-yards with some energy. Lynch had five consecutive runs of 10, 5, 12, 26, and finally a 10-yard touchdown putting the Seahawks ahead 7-0, with 5:16 left to go in the half! In this game of Electric football we have to rise to the occasion when you taking on a tough team. The Patriots acted like Patriots and they came storming back with nine plays into the end-zone on a terrific catch by All-Pro utility Back, Kevin Faulk for a 30-yard touchdown to tie the game 7-7 with 7:45 left to go in the game! Seattle was determined to stop the Patriots with a test of their own--stopping the elusive Lynch. After a 24-yard kick return and being stopped on first down, Lynch broke loose and went into "Beast-Mode" for an early season record 76-yard touchdown run into the end-zone on an absolutely spectacular breakout play for the Seahawks, making the score 14-7! What a game! On the kickoff the Patriots refused to fade out and be intimidated by Brannigan and his Seahawks. Rob Gronkowski scorched through the center of the field for a amazing hundred-yard return to tie the game at 14-14, with 3:22 left in the game! As time ran out on the Seattle Seahawks they were forced to kick a record 62-yard field goal to win the game 17-14 in a hard-fought intense battle! Marshawn Lynch had 139 yards and two-touchdowns on 8 carries along with 61 yards on kick returns, totaling 200 yards! The "Gronk" had 137 yards on special teams for New England with a touchdown as the Pats go to (0-2) and they play the Raiders (0-1)at home.Coach Vick's Dallas Cowboys (0-2) will play Brannigan again next week at Seattle in a war next week! Lets see who plans better!
  2. LA's TOMLINSON LEADS THE WAY FOR CHARGERS WITH 197 RUSHING AND 3 TD'S AS CHARGERS UNLEASH AGAINST THE CHIEFS IN OT! Los Angeles Chargers LaDanian Tomlinson (21) had a huge day rushing for a record 197-yards, totaling 330 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns, to beat the division rival Kansas City Chiefs 20-14 in 5:05 OT! August 19, 2020. Los Angeles, California. There are premiere players and coaches in leagues both solitaire and organized around the country. The Long Island Electric Football League is completing Week #2 of their 2020 seven-game format season with some amazing competition in this 8-coach league. The league is filled with excitement! One team who thinks for themselves in the LIEFL is the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have been a team with a chip-on-their-shoulder for two straight seasons. Charger Coach Ed "The GOAT" Viggs, if you have been reading, already know he is not only a classy guy, but he was an excellent athlete in high school and at the college level, but he's more than that, he is smart! When you absolutely, positively MUST have the job done, he is going to get it done nine out of ten times. This season may be the year the GOAT is back in force with LaDanian Tomlinson, the AFC Offensive MVP last season! Whether with the Chargers, Green Bay, Washington, or San Francisco, one way or another Viggs will be there competing hard in the end! THE GAME: LaDanian Tomlinson had the Chargers (0-1), all amped up for their home-opener. Going into the game Tomlinson had 149 yards last week in Los Angeles' overtime loss to Cincinnati 20-14, so this week the GOAT went back to the drawing board to focus on what got them to the playoffs two straight season in this progressive LIEFL which seems to ante-up the competition every year with surprises from the LIEFL-Draft every January. Kansas City really struggled last season, but they won a tremendous Draft-pick in Tyreek Hill who set the field on fire last week with 147 yards and a hundred yard kick-return against the Texans. Hill has blazing speed and toughness and he will be an All-Pro for Coach Matt "Zoo-York" Mulqueen's Chiefs. Muqueen said, "We were awful last season, but with the Draft we got a heck of a player in Tyreek Hill. He is a flat-out play-maker and he makes us a threat every week. You can't turn your back on a player like this. This league is swamped with great electric football players, but I am confident you will see Mr. Hill in the top three or four when all is said and done this season." The coaching in the LIEFL is focused. Mulqueen (5-2) this season as a coach, has his teams playing terrific. His Eagles, Panthers, and Browns have been competitive, and this Chiefs team has no quit! On the kickoff the All-Pro Tomlinson took the ball back 31 yards for the Chargers on a short kick return. This home opener is important with the challenging schedule Los Angeles has this season. It won't be an easy one for Los Angeles. Tomlinson and his line have to rise to the occasion and in just five plays, after runs of 28, 20, 6, and 13 yards, Tomlinson took it in for one-yard out to make the score 7-0, Chargers in the lead with 7:14 to go in the half! The Kansas City Chiefs came storming back on a 41-yard kick return by last week's hero Tyreek Hill, who is quickly becoming the Coaches' Selection in the league as the "most popular and fastest players" in the league. While the Chiefs did not lack on special teams, the front line could not open the trenches for Chiefs star running back Priest Holmes and on his first two runs, Holmes was stuffed by the Los Angeles defense. Then on a third down rush Chargers lineman Russ Washington made a tremendous tackle on a game-breaking play that was stopped at the 48-yard line, as Washington crushed Tyreek Hill who was brought down by Washington as the first half came to a close with the score 7-0, Chargers in the lead! The game was getting heated and both coaches had to be warned for stalling the game. Coach Mulqueen got a 5 yard penalty for not setting up completely in the 40 seconds allotted. And another new rule that delays a game is even if by accident a coach drops their player on a player from the opposing team it's a 5-yard penalty because it causes each coach to re-set. This is a brand new rule that's in effect in 2020. This Los Angeles defense came alive and they had a relentless pursuit on Priest Holmes knowing full well what he is capable of on the field. The Chargers issued a 22-yard loss. forcing Kansas City to pass again on third down. On third down the Chiefs pulled a quarterback sneak for a 40-yard gain by Patrick Mahomes, bringing the ball down to the charger 30-yard line! One play later Tony Gonzalez ran in a 30 yard touchdown catch from Mahomes slicing right down the middle of the field to tie the game, 7-7! On the ensuing kickoff Tomlinson ran into a wall for 37 yards for the Chargers. After a short 5-yard run, Tomlinson brought in the BIG GUNS exploding for a 58-yard touchdown through the center of the field to put the Chargers ahead 14-7 with 4:25 left to go in the game! What a play! With a minute left to go in the game Tony Gonzalez scored his second touchdown of the game on a tremendous 40-yard pass play leaving Tomlinson just seconds left to score as time ran out on both teams. Tomlinson was tackled hard at the 30-yard line as the game went into overtime. The Chargers won the coin toss in overtime! The momentum was with Los Angeles. We could feel the energy of the game growing and the coaches could feel the anxiety setting in as well and it's very important division rival. On the overtime kick-return LaDanian Tomlinson ran the ball back 34-yards and after runs of 6, 10 and finally a 50-yard touchdown run the Chargers (1-1) beat the Chiefs (1-1) in overtime a the game in 5:05 of OT 20-14! Tomlinson ended the game with big numbers. He had 14 carries for 330 total yards, 197 of them rushing, with 3 touchdowns, two of them from 50 and 58 yards! What a day for the best runner in the AFC last year! The Los Angeles Chargers play the Carolina Panthers (1-1) next week in what should be a spectacular game.   3. RAVENS RULE ON DEFENSE IN CLOSE WIN OVER TEXANS 14-13! August 19, 2020. Houston, Texas. For Houston Texans Coach Levi Vick this season has been hard on his team. "We have the talent, we just need the defense," said Vick. One sure thing for this team is running back Ron Dayne, a terrific blue-collar workhorse for the Texans. But, he can't act alone. He needs Vick to build on this team. With great blocking Dayne is unstoppable. The Texans have been a very consistent team in the Long Island Electric Football League. In their five years in the league Vick has been to the playoffs three times, one of them an AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills in 2017, when the Bills won, 43-26. The Baltimore Ravens are a team on the rise. Coach Johhny Freeport-Chucker" Lafromboise always has lots to say for his rising Ravens. The Chucker said, "Be careful because we will be here for the entire game and I am ready with my Ravens. With return specialist Derrick Mason, how can I go wrong?" On the opening kickoff a ready Houston Texans running back speedy Ron Dayne, returned the ball 60-yards to the Baltimore 40 yard-line. Ravens tackle J'von Parker made a hard hit on Dayne. Parker had three tackles on the first three plays, blasting through the line of the Houston Texans to the Baltimore Raven 30-yard line chasing the speedy Dayne and tackling him in the backfield for the loss. The Raven defense came up big on third down stopping the Texans again, this time at the Texans 45-yard line pushing them back for a loss of 25-yards from where they originally started. Dayne and the Texans got stuffed by Tony the "Goose" Siragusa on third down, forcing the Texans to kick a field-goal making the score 3-0, Texans with 4:55 left to go in the half! The Baltimore Ravens have been dangerous on special teams. On the ensuing kick-return LIEFL All-Pro Derrick Mason, exploded slicing through the middle of the field with an electrifying hundred-yard return for a touchdown giving the Baltimore Ravens the lead, 7-3! Houston's Ron Dayne was not about to be outdone by Mason as Dayne ran back a sensational hundred yard touchdown run to put the Texans ahead 10-7, in a very exciting match-up with 2:55 left to go in the half! The battle for special teams wasn't over! Derrick Mason returned the ball 60-yards to the Houston 40 yard-line and on first down Jamal Lewis exploded for a 17-yard pick-up to the Houston 28 yard line! This trench game was getting brutal as Houston's Brandon Frye hit Jamal Lewis so hard he was knocked over at the 24 yard line of the Texans on second down at 13:31 left to go in the game in an intense war. The two coaches put two extreme teams on the board who were hitting hard. The speed of the game a few times was hard to follow that's how fast the board was running. On one run, three players were knocked down and we have never seen that before in any game. Energy is great in electric football. With the score 14-10, in favor of Baltimore, the Texans Ron Dayne returned a 46 yard kick return. One play later powerful tight end Ryan Griffin caught a pass for a 16-yard first down to the Baltimore 28-yard line with 10 seconds left in the game as time ran out on the Texans. Houston was forced to kick a field-goal with the Ravens ahead 14-10, as they ran out of time on one last catch by Griffin again for 19-yards as the Ravens win on the road 14-13 in a tremendous finish! The Chucker said, "As I said, I am a winner. Vick can't stop me." Vick had no comments. The Texans are in a very difficult spot at (0-2). They play Pittsburgh (1-1) on the road next week and then Minnesota at home in Week #4. On a positive note Ron Dayne isn't slowing down. He finished with 216 total yards today with a touchdown. The Chucker's Ravens are home against Kansas City who just lost in a heart-breaker 20-14 in OT to the Chargers.

  5. ARIZONA BLAZES WASHINGTON WITH SECONDS LEFT 17-14! Arizona Cardinals back OJ Anderson (32) keeps the Cards on fire with his 106 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a great battle in the trenches, overcoming the Washington Football Team's defense 17-14! August 18, 2020. Phoenix, Arizona. On paper you'd think the Cardinals were mismatched to many teams. The Long Island Electric Football League Arizona Cardinals had it all last year at the top of their game for Coach Kevin "The Mac" Maloney! They were undefeated up to week #6, but Maloney spoke to soon telling the league it was the Cardinals' year in 2019, as the league watched his Cardinals crumble as he set his eye-on-the-prize, but was undone because of the jinx! After losing to Paddy Brannigan's Seattle Seahawks 17-14, and then Billy O'C's defending Super Bowl Champions, Los Angeles Rams 17-14, it was clear that the Cardinals were starting to lose their sizzle as the most important point in the season closed. It all came undone in the NFC Divisional Game when they were crushed by Coach Matt "Zoo-York" Mulqueen's Carolina Panthers 49-35, sending the Cards home early, losing to three different coaches, and posing a question mark for this 2020 season. But the resilient coach and Cardinals never quit. After losing in the playoffs Coach Maloney had plenty of time to think about what went wrong for Arizona. "We just ran out of juice, and I was tired from work outside of the hobby. My guys Mel Gray and OJ Anderson had great games, Gray had 412 yards in the game and people seem to forget that! Where I fell short is in preparation. Mulqueen was just more organized. He had a better game plan and beat me on my own mistakes, thinking I could run all day. Sometimes it doesn't work that way. I realize this is a hobby, but I really want that trophy in the end. Not every league competes for a prize other than pride. We are uniquely organized. I won a few Championships in other leagues, but this league has a great diverse group of guys, who are talented in real life, not just in the hobby of electric football. It's like having 8 Alpha personalities with the same goal ... to win!" The Washington Football Team in all of this controversy have kept it together on the field. Tony Green has remained a consistent force in the NFC East, and Washington is navigating their way thru new terrain with a tremendous coach in Ed Viggs. Viggs most memorable game of the many he has played in was when his then Redskins beat Billy O'C's Miami Dolphins 34-31, in Super Bowl VIII. Coach Maloney said, "It's exciting to play against Viggs. He has a history in this league and its always a huge challenge to beat him. Seems he always has some trick in the bag. Viggs squashed the Miggle Toys World Qualifier 21-7, and he is one of the most competitive low-key EFL players in the World as a guy who brings a powerhouse running game, and a dead-on accurate passing game, but I think his special teams is incredible." Coach Viggs won Coach of the Year last season, defeating Billy O'C's Dolphins again 44-41 with the Rams as alternate coach. Slawson's Corner, Andrew Slawson said, "Washington matches up well with the hot Arizona Cardinals. Viggs finds ways to win when his back is against the wall, but where he most dangerous is in strategy. He plans very carefully for each team he plays and he capitalizes on his opponents weaknesses. Tony Green is his guy. Green had 260 special teams yards against the tough Philadelphia Eagles who Washington beat 13-10 in a great game." THE GAME: On paper this could not be a better match up with two tough teams who are highly competitive. Coach Viggs Washington Football Team WFT, have improved their defense for sure. After not making the playoffs last season the Washington Football Team is back! On the opening kick-off, Arizona played the game plan a little different. Coach Maloney gave the ball to Larry Fitzgerald. who hasn't seen the ball much in the last two seasons, but Maloney said he wanted to get Fitz more involved in the game. The Cardinals drove downfield with 7 consecutive running plays totaling 22 yards for OJ Anderson who brought the ball to the Washington 40-yard line with 5:07 left to go in the half! . WFT defensive tackle Joe Jacoby really took it to the Cardinals Frontline, but the Cards trench-men Dierdorf, Davis, and Rookie Josh Jones. Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray made a huge play connecting with wide-receiver Larry Fitzgerald for a huge 46-yard pickup to give the (1-0) football team the ball at the Washington two- yard line. On the next play running back OJ Anderson who had 83 rushing yards last week against San Francisco, sliced thru the WFT defensive line for a two-yard touchdown run, making the score 7-0, Cardinals with 1:02 left to go and a half! Washington running back Tony Green played a great game on special teams last week with 239 yards against the tough Philadelphia Eagles. Green took it back 55 yards on the opening kickoff to the Arizona 45-yard line for Washington. One play later, Green exploded around the left side of WTF's great tackle Joe Jacoby for a 45-yard scorching run to tie the game 7-7, with 14:43 left to go in the game. The Washington line, the "Hogs" tore will not be intimidated by Arizona's size. Of all people to make a huge play on the Cardinals kick return after Washington scored was lineman Dave Butts who hit return-specialist Mel Gray hard at the 20-yard line of Arizona to put the Cards in poor field position. But, one play later Anderson exploded around the right side for a 26-yard pickup with another tackle made by Joe Jacoby for his third of the day! The Arizona front-line kicked in with three straight first downs, plowing the way and moving bodies for Anderson on a 26-yard first down. Arizona had a 21-yard run and a 10-yard run to bring the ball to the Washington 22-yard line with 8:21 left to go in the game! From 22-yards away Otis Anderson blasted through a tired Washington line and into the end-zone for his second rushing touchdown of the game, putting the Cardinals up 14-7, with 7:11 left to go in the game! For a moment it appeared as though the Arizona Cardinals were going to control the rest of the game until Washington's Tony Green ran a blazing hundred yard kick return into the end-zone for a touchdown to tie the score at 14-14, with 5:36 left to go in the game And as time ran down on the Washington Football Team, return-man Larry Fitzgerald opened eyes with a game-clinching 93-yard kick return for the Cardinals, bringing the ball to the Washington 7-yard line to to set up the field-goal for the Cardinals (2-0), winning the game 17-14 in a spectacular finish! Coach Maloney said, "Anytime I can beat a coach like Viggs, it is a big day!" Viggs said, "Maloney's team played a great game. I knew it would be tough on the road to beat him, but this team is resilient and we shall return!" OJ Anderson finished with 106 yards rushing with two touchdowns, and Larry Fitzgerald had a surprise 130 yards on special teams, and Tony Green for Washington touched the ball 3 times for an astounding 210 yards with two touchdowns! Green has 470 total yards already this season. Arizona plays Detroit at home next week, and then they are off to Carolina to play the Panthers. Washington (1-1) is at Cleveland (1-1) next week and then home against Baltimore (1-0).

We love reading about electric football and the more information we get out there the greater our legacy and contributions will be remembered. You are so right about all the Wild-West players. The Players Figures: We use the LIEFL uses the "rare" Tudor 67 Big Men players with no exceptions. We love the artistic work coaches have done with their player figures, but in our league we don't allow over-sized custom made player figures because it simply changes the professional uniformity of the league. All LIEFL teams MUST have official NFL Tudor Regulation size, and officially licensed painted uniforms in both home and away jersey's professionally decaled using only NFL teams. The Rule Issues: Over the years we have competed in at least 15 tournaments outside of the LIEFL, which provided us with great insight into rules, strategies, and skill-level, as well as the attitudes of coaches we competed against. Here is what we learned. We learned that first, we can compete with the best of them, next, that the biggest conflicts are over rules, so our rules committee, which consists of eight people debated for weeks about rules until we finally collaborated and came up with our own variation of rules so that everyone protects the integrity of the hobby.We know that some coaches are insistent over rules as a "must-way" of doing things, but they seem to be put off by running leagues. We don't care who passes, and you shouldn't care that we run. It's good old fashion smash mouth electric football, and it works! Even in the NFL, the running teams utilize the skill to control the clock and the ball. In our clarity, the official version of the Tudor rules was created by hobbyists like us, but the problem is we all see the play-by-play on the field differently in what's best for the game and the coaches. Like your leagues, our rules benefit everyone, and not just tailored for the few or a few people who made rules to manage their style of play. We all do this. One of the biggest issues to us with the rules is set-up times and formations for the offense and defense, time counts to turn men, and other arguable rules. The Essence of Time: We find that one of the most important factors in moving a game along is time. Because we are working professionals like almost everyone else around the country, we have strict rules which engage the competition and propel the progress and the speed of the game. Our goal is always to make the game more competitive, while keeping tradition and originality in tact. A few philosophical differences exist in our league approach in terms of time to set-up plays, regulation size player figures sizes and weight, and the format in which we use to play the game on the field. These fundamental differences are what make each league unique. In previous years, the LIEFL used to give one-minute to complete set-ups, but we now utilize a 40-second for coaches to complete a set-up for both offense and defense with no re-sets like we have witnessed in other leagues where more time is taken to move and turn several players. In our league both teams have to set-up within seconds of the 40 second regulation time or we walk you back 5 yards. Time management is crucial and the offense must complete their set-up at the same time as the defense. It's all about never interfering with the natural flow of a game with all these stops. Like most great competitive leagues, having set-up times are important to us. We feel it forces our coaches to think about play-making and the big picture before the game. In the LIEFL, if the team and opponents don't frustrate and break coaches down, the time will. Our regular season games are 30-minutes with post-season games set at regulation time of 60 minutes with two timeouts per half. We don't whine, we just play the game and make the necessary adjustments. When our fastest set-up coach had his team set up in 30 seconds consistently in games on offense, we realized the game speed standard had to change with all of us compromising on a 40 second complete set-up clock. This new standard for us would change the game to be more competitive, even with the most experienced of EFL coaches. If coaches want to be competitive in the LIEFL there has to be a plan with quick-thinking strategies in order to constantly improve how to handle fast 40 second set-ups without delays and penalties. In our first seven-game season format in 2008, managing the clock was a frustrating challenge for coaches who struggled handling the chaos, but these days after working smarter and as a result of the 40 second time-stress set-up rule, there are 10-15% more plays. We know you understand how that goes when the rigors of being able to play hard under duress could cause big mistakes that cost teams wins and losses. It gives coaches a realistic feel to the sport of football, of how stress affects and impacts performance in a time-driven league. We feel that is one important factor in determining what is missing from the national rules. Way too much time is given again, to turn players, have other countdown rules, and impact the flow of the game. In the end, this progressive fast time set-up balances the competition quickly, but it also pushes coaches foreign to our league to think on their feet, make split second decisions, make mistakes, and define the need to make adjustments and corrections to each coaches playing style. We suggest you try this mode in your league to see how your time-competition changes the speed of the game. Our highest scoring 30-minute game last season was on August 14, 2019, when the LIEFL #19 Ranked Tampa Bay Buccaneers (66-86), beat the very tough LIEFL #17 Ranked San Francisco 49ers (66-76), 35-31, in an opening day stunner! There were several high-scoring, high-stake games like this. Play-by-Play on the field and the Natural flow of the Play: In the LIEFL when it comes to passing, we strongly believe that if we get burned on a passing play, we get burned, that's part of the game! We also have no rule against linemen touching elbows and we never will as long as coaches do not stack their line, we are good. We find that rule to be open for debate against other leagues and Tudor Rules. We embrace and respect all styles of electric football, but what works for some doesn't always work for all. One of our play-by-play rules on the field in the LIEFL is coded that when a receiver catches a ball we do not allow the defender closest to the receiver to suddenly be turned around with the game stopping to chase a receiver in any way. Again, it interferes the the actual play that was naturally meant to be. We don't ever change the continuity of any play. We believe a coach needs to be prepared at every level win or lose when it comes to running, passing, receiving and defending in real-time with the only game turn-off to pass the ball and hit a receiver. RULES: The on-going Debate of rushing and passing rules and the "Great Equalizer": We have been playing the hobby as long as most people around the world. As for Rushing the ball. For us, bull-rushing, in-your-face, smash-mouth bully-ball electric football is considered a style of play whether we win or lose. In the NFL when the offense is on the inch-line breathing down the defenses' throat crunched together the way the Chicago Bears did it in 1985, when William "Refrigerator" Perry did in Super Bowl XX against New England with his one-yard touchdown run. The defense didn't like it, and fans and players were whining because they couldn't stop the Bears front line or Perry, but they had to adjust and accept it that Perry tanked them. Our rule is simply that "as long as there are five core lineman on the line of scrimmage, three guards and two tackles, with two receivers on the ends on offense, and anywhere from one to four men in the backfield," it's game-on as long as there are no stacks of five men in the backfield! We call this style of electric football the great equalizer. It forces coaches to defend against the great running teams just as coaches have to defend against the great passing teams. It balances out. We also feel that the great coaches are one's who can do it all; pass, run, kick, play tight defense, and be special teams experts. O OOOOO OO OO O In our league, we don't allow passing sticks, strings, custom crafted passing enhancement tools, or special guides in passing. We expect our coaches to use "raw" talent to pass in the LIEFL. Coaches must be able to develop passing skills using a Tudor Games provided official kicker/passer. If an opponent wants to live by the pass, they need to develop the skill to win by the pass with no exceptions. One team may get buried by the passing game, but another team may equalize the game with the running attack, and it's just a theoretical strategy that works well in balancing the game in our league. It is a fair balance of agreed upon rules, and when we compete against other people in tournaments, we go 50/50 on rules. We see many different rules in other leagues vs. the new standardized Tudor Rules. The contention with that is that we didn't necessarily all agree on the rules, but we do agree to disagree. That is what makes the game so exciting! The sign of an exciting league is when each year different teams make it to the Super Bowl, but as you all know, when a team wins two in a row, that is special in a competitive league. Miami star, Mark Duper returns a 92 yard kick with 8 seconds left in the game to give the Dolphins the win over tough division rival Buffalo Bills, 17-14 on a field-goal! August 17, 2020. Miami, Florida. This field is special to the Miami Dolphins after making it back to the Granddaddy of them all last season in the Long Island Electric Football League's Super Bowl XV. This rematch is a war between fierce competitors Miami Dolphins versus Buffalo Bills, but also between coaches Billy O'C and Joe "Bino" Cerbaino. After all the Draft picks in the league over the last two seasons Buffalo has been challenged every step of the way after winning the Superbowl in 2017 and dominant fashion against the Detroit Lions. That greatness that they found in that season, we now understand, it is "rare" to be that good consistently. They may not have lost to the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams 44-41 in OT, but the LIEFL #1-Ranked Miami Dolphins (167-34) did beat this Buffalo Bills team 31-21, in the AFC Championship Game to stun Buffalo, and make it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 20 years. The Bills are still a super team. They won LIEFL Super Bowl XIII in 2017, in one of the most dominant performances in the history of the Long Island Electric Football League with Bills All-Pro running back OJ Simpson scoring an incredible record-setting seven touchdowns in the game, beating the defending LIEFL Super Bowl XII Champion Detroit Lions 49-35! The Draft brought incredible competition, completely transforming this league with strong signs of improvement every year since 2008 to the point that no team is safe on Sunday's. Since coach Billy O'C owns both teams, this season's alternate coach Joe Cerabino or Bino, will play with the Buffalo Bills (1-0), Coach O'C will play with his unbeaten Dolphins. O'C said, "Man I was embarrassed for three or four seasons losing like 18 games during our rebuilding of the league and my Dolphins. All of my great players from the past are now running backs around the league. With the rookie bases, we just could not compete against everyone's TTC player bases. It was humbling watching my team's dynasty crumble. To me the sign of an excellent league is 32 teams who can all win! But we are back! I have Jason Taylor and Larry Little leading the way, and AJ Duhe has come up big at tackle for us. But, the biggest addition to my team is Mark Duper who I won in the draft! This guy is a tremendous set-up specialist for Mercury Morris, who is again at the top of his running game. Duper gives and gives to this team. He is a dangerous and respected player in the league. He was the #2 kick-returner in the LIEFL last season, so I expect big things from him. He performed in the Super Bowl against the Rams with 500 all-purpose yards. We have to focus on OJ though to win this game by keeping the ball out of his hands, and keeping our offense on the field. Bino is a great coach so it should be a great game." Bino said, "Bring the Dolphins on. I always want revenge against them because they beat my Eagles in a tournament 3-0, on a field-goal in 1978. Today, if OJ gets the juice going it will be a long day for Miami. I watched the film of the Super Bowl XIII win with the Bills on YOU-TUBE, when they kicked Detroit's butt, so I am psyched to play with them. OJ is literally a "beast" and we have a lot to prove, and I have no attachments to any of the teams, so I am going to play to win in a big upset to fight for the division title! At the end of the day, the way I think about it is, I may be the alternate coach in a Super Bowl that could win me $750! There is a great chance that O'C may have two of his teams in the Super Bowl like last season. That means I am alternate coach."The Buffalo Bills will be sporting brand new uniforms throwback style, and they look gorgeous. THE GAME: The excitement was tense in the build-up to this rematch and on the opening kick-off return specialist LIEFL All-Pro Mark Duper ran the ball back 41 yards. Buffalo looks gorgeous, sporting brand new uniforms throwback style and they look gorgeous. On the Dolphins first run of the game Mercury Morris took the ball 20 yards to the Bills 41-yard line on an explosive run by Morris around his favorite guy, AJ Duhe. One play later Morris ran around the left side again for a 31-yard pick up to the Buffalo Bills 10-yard line, putting the Dolphins in scoring position with 10:10 left to go in the first half. After a great tackle and loss by great Buffalo Lineman Marcell Dareus, the Dolphins were pushed back to the 22-yard line. But on the very next play Miami quarterback Dan Marino aired it out to "Super Duper" for a 22-yard blazing touchdown down the sideline of the Buffalo Bills to make the score 7-0, Miami! At 4:49 to go in the half the Bills lost much of the first half chasing Morris around. Buffalo running back OJ Simpson ran a 18-yard run on first down, and then Simpson burst straight up the middle on a draw-play for a Buffalo Bills 29-yard touchdown right through the Miami defense tying the score 7-7 with 1:27 left to go in the half. Duper's 33 yard ensuing kick-return ran into a defensive wall by the Bills. Miami was stopped on the first few runs and on 3rd down, Dan Marino aired it out to Mercury Morris for a tremendous 67-yard touchdown down the left side of the field to give the Miami Dolphins the lead 14-7, with 11:11 to go in the game! The Bills drove downfield with six consecutive runs by OJ Simpson who finally ran in for a 2-yard touchdown to tie the score at 14-14, with 58 seconds left to go in the game. This was a clock-eating game by both coaches, almost to perfection. The game was a nail-biter! On the kick return with the clock running. Miami's hero, Mark Duper came up big for the Dolphins with a super 92-yard kick-return leaving Miami at the 8-yard line with 8 seconds left to kick the field goal and win the game in dramatic fashion 17-14! What a game by both coaches as they shook hands and are on to the next one! Miami's Mercury Morris ended up with 119 all-purpose yards and a 67 yard touchdown, and Mark Duper blew it up with 188 yards, a touchdown and the game winning set-up for a field-goal! Buffalo's OJ Simpson is unstoppable. He ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns, totaling 182 yards with two touchdowns! Coach Billy O'C said, "When the going get tough, I rely on Duper to get the job done. You always have to have a player that can rise to the competition, and Duper and Morris are those guys. Duper got off to a rough start but once he got warmed up, it was lights out." Coach Bino said, "Buffalo is a great team, and if we were in Buffalo, the outcome would be reversed. The last run my guy got turned in and missed the tackle and that cost us the game. You can't make mistakes against O'C because that will be the difference between winning and losing the game. I think the coaches in this league are just that good!" What a week next week for Buffalo (1-1). They play the defending two-time Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams (1-1) at home, and Miami heads to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars (0-2).
  9. Same, there have been several! One of the best was in 1978 when we bought the EF game with the Broncos and Dallas. Those Broncos were really the first time we saw how the TTC player bases performed. At the time Miami in our league was great, but Denver put them to the test giving the Dolphins their first ever loss 8-5! Then that season Miami came back in the playoffs and beat Denver 21-17 in the AFC Championship Game. In 1980-81, Miami beat Denver again, 37-21 in the AFC Championship Game, and then again in 1983-84, Miami beat them 35-34 in the AFC Championship Game! Incredible rivalry.   10. INCREDIBLE FALCONS BEAT COWBOYS IN OT 26-21! Falcons Gerald Riggs (42) had 4 touchdowns with 354 all-purpose yard in Atlanta's highly anticipated game with Dallas, beating the Cowboys 27-21 in an OT thriller! August 16, 2020. Dallas, Texas. The game was in Dallas, one of the toughest places to win on the road, but the high-flying "Dirty-Birds" played amazing in this overtime game! It is Tudor Games who sold us some amazing 67' Big Men, especially the Atlanta Falcons! In 2008 we revamped our entire league and sold all of our Haiti guys and Hogleg, bought a whole new 32-team home and away Big Men, painted them, decaled them, and WALA--a new look to our established league! We were ready for a change and each coach had something at stake. We've had a few regrets because of the "rare" historic value of the Haiti and Hogleg figures, but we've come to love the Big-Men. Subliminally, it is Tudor Games who does that for us. Tudor is a great company that keeps our hobby alive. This is a company who actually cares about the people they serve. In my few encounters with customer service they have been nothing less than professional in their commitment to the game and customers. They build relationships with the customers as well. In our league each coach is held accountable for their team and we don't joke around when it comes to signing rules at the beginning of the season. We aren't playing at Mom's table anymore. Everyone is clear about how we go about taking care of business. In 2017, the Falcons lost to Minnesota 24-17, in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game after winning the NFC South Division. Long Island Electric Football League Coach, Johnny "Freeport-Chucker" Lafromboise might be the most vocal coach in this league when it comes to his Atlanta Falcons (1-0), who were just on the crust of making the Long Island Electric Football League playoffs last season, only to be cut short of that hope in the final week of the season by Coach Kevin "Mac" Maloney's comeback kids, the New Orleans Saints 26-21, in OT! Today, Atlanta faces a seasoned group of veterans in the Dallas Cowboys (0-1), coached by Levi Vick, but we have yet to figure out how league "Bad-Boy" Johnny Freeport-Chucker, has set so many records with his "Dirty-Birds" and the power-back Gerald Riggs without advancing further in the NFC playoffs with this team. Could it be the size of the Tudor 67' Big Men? The Coaching? The Schedule? For some answers we turned to the highly controversial, but unbiased Slawson's Corner. If a coach wants to find sentiment in Slawson, forget it, he goes by the numbers and statistical invariables. Statistics or probabilities do sometimes matter in electric football. Our expert analytic feels that the Falcons need to rise to the occasion against the better teams because that is where they fell short each season, in coaching. "They were involved in 4 historic league games last season, three of the games were overtime games in which they won two of them. We are talking about winning one regular season game more because if a team like the Falcons make it, they can be a very dangerous team in the playoffs. The coaching is a story in itself. The division produced a 4-win playoff team in the Panthers, and the Falcons, don't forget, beat the Panthers in a high-scoring duel during the regular season. If they just won one more game, they would have won the division because they beat Carolina, and they would have seen the postseason. Can you imagine how many points they could have scored in the postseason if they got hot? This is a team that only great coaching will drive a chance at the LIEFL Super Bowl, and the Falcons are not quite there. What do you want, a novel? It is really simple to understand, like it or not, this coach is a hot head. Yeah it's a sad day when coaches start using profanity then let their anger get the best of them in a game," said "The Claw" Andrew Slawson, who himself was an excellent lineman and All-County Wrestler in high school. Slawson was recently inducted into the Long Island Sports Hall of Fame. True story! No answer from the Chucker. The type of offensive firepower the Falcons have produced is exceptional. They have one of the premiere offenses in electric football and because of the numbers the Freeport-Chucker has been able to put up, when Gerald Riggs and the Falcons play, almost everyone in the league shows up to watch this exciting team. In fact, no one has put up better numbers than the Chucker's star, Riggs. Riggs became the only 2,000-yard player in a seven game season with an LIEFL leading 2339 all-purpose yards with a record 21 touchdowns. Riggs and that Falcon offense produced 22 touchdowns last season in our seven-game season format. Slawson thinks the Falcon coach focuses too much on the stats and not on the big picture. Riggs has totaled 7,429 all-purpose yards with 59 touchdowns in his LIEFL career, and he has won three MVP's. This criticism may indeed motivate the Freeport-Chucker to take a closer look at this season's Falcon game plan. The team is capable of next level competition, but what holds them back, only the coach can say. In these 2019 historic games, the first historic game that went into the record books for the Atlanta Falcons last season was against the Philadelphia Eagles. Gerald Riggs had 402 all-purpose yards with four touchdowns and two, hundred-yard kick-returns for touchdowns! There was over 700 yards in the game with seven touchdowns in the Falcons 26-21 victory over in OT, beating the Eagles! The next game they got even better! Riggs played his heart out but the Falcons lost to the excited 49ers, 31-28, in 7:16 of overtime. Between San Francisco's Rickey Watters, Jerry Rice and Riggs, they had a combined total all-purpose yards of 880 yards with 8 touchdowns in a regulation 30 minute game, putting that game in the record-books! In that game Riggs exploded for 350 all-purpose yards with 224 yards on special teams and 126 yards rushing, with three touchdowns. As if that didn't open up eyes in the league for the least popular coach, Riggs produced 457 all-purpose yards against one of the best defenses in the league, beating their division rival Carolina Panthers 31-28, in an electrifying finish against Matt "Zoo-York" Mulqueen's Panthers. That was an all-out verbal-brawl and assault, and the Chucker was fined for his language, $25 league fee by Rules Commissioner and former Pro football player for the arena league's Albany Firebirds, and legendary Albany high school football coach, Pete Porcelli. Porcelli said, "We have a professional league we are running here. We don't tolerate that type of behavior. We know guys get heated in the game, but they have to learn to respect their opponents and deal with their anger management issues. We can't have coaches who lack discipline and sportsmanship." The last guy Porcelli tossed from the league was Wilfred "Grubsy-Bee" Brimsby, in a year-2000 shouting match with coach Ed Viglietta, when Brimsby broke Viglietta's men in a tantrum 28-10, loss by Brimsby's Seattle Seahawks to Coach Vigs' San Francisco 49ers." Brimsby was banned from the league and we heard he joined another league where it was reported back that he won a Super Bowl! Good for him because Porcelli said, "He won't be back in this league." In the last historic game of the year, Riggs set the 2000-yard record with 300 yards against Jacksonville on October 29, 2019, with 147 yards rushing with three touchdowns and another 153 yards on special teams. So, there is a strong historic team here, not to mention the beauty Tudor Games produced in these 67'Big Men! They are enormous. The one thing that needs to stay cool is their coach. Coach Billy O'C said, "Riggs can do lots of damage and he's just a beast! I want him on my team, but at least when we play tournaments outside the league, he's with us rather than against us." The Dallas Cowboys have been sporadic in the past two seasons, but a favorable schedule could land them in the postseason, if Coach Vick can manage them. This top-10 team in the LIEFL is fast, big, the scouting report is that they have a double threat between Terrell Owens and Emmitt Smith, two top players in the LIEFL. As game-time set in, the excitement was in the air with a full house on hand to watch this LIEFL game. The Cowboys opened with a booming kick-return by Terrell Owens who took it back 34-yards. In just two plays, Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith had runs of 23 yards and 43 yards into the end zone for a touchdown, 7-0, Dallas! Coach Vick yelled loud when the Boys scored! As Coach "Chucker" looked close at his Falcons, carefully setting up his first kick-return, he had a smirk on his face. On a weak kick-return, star back, Gerald Riggs ran the ball back only 30-yards. Atlanta had trouble against that Dallas defense. They could not get the running game going and the Falcons ran the clock down in the first half with four runs from Riggs for just three yards and then Jamal Anderson came up huge with two catches in the flats for big first downs totaling 70 yards in receptions from quarterback Matt Ryan taking the ball to the Dallas Cowboy 11-yard line! Riggs and the Atlanta front line were just warming up as Riggs powered his way into the Dallas end-zone for a touchdown to tie the game, 7-7 with 14:25 remaining. Coach Chucker and his Falcons were prepared tonight. Surprise! Surprise! Coach Vick has a prepared Cowboy team! Terrell Owens silenced the Falcons running one back for a hundred yards on the kick return into the end-zone, putting the Cowboys up 14-7, with 12:15 left to go in the game on a terrific blazing run! Riggs answered with a 76 yard-kick return of his own! On first down at the 24 yard line of the Dallas Cowboys, the Falcon superstar Gerald Riggs exploded for a 24-yard touchdown to tie the score at 14-14, with 9:19 left to go in the game! What a stunner! The Cowboys were not quitting. After a 63 yard kick-return from Owens, on his fourth consecutive run, Emmitt Smith scored on a sweet 11-yard run to put the Dallas Cowboys ahead 21-14, with 2:58 left to go in the game! The excitement was amazing and people were loud in this incredible action-packed thriller! With 50 seconds left to go in the game the Falcons decided to pass the ball to Gerald Riggs who scorched the Dallas defense with a 53-yard reception and Riggs third touchdown of the night! Game tied, 21-21! The Freeport-Chucker is taking his Falcons into overtime with the Cowboys! And, in a stunning turn of events the Freeport-Chuckers Falcons win the coin toss with Coach Vick in disbelief. Dallas was looking at its second possible loss in a row. Atlanta got caught up on a weak 12-yard kick return in overtime, which meant they had to march a long 88 yards for a score with a tired Falcon offense. But, Riggs made Vick's Cowboys pay. Once the Falcons took over on a horrible kickoff return for 12 yards by Riggs, he made the Cowboys pay the price driving the ball, six plays and 88 yards later in 12:35 of overtime, Gerald Riggs scored his fourth touchdown of the game from 9-yards out as the Atlanta Falcons stunned the Dallas Cowboys 27-21, on one of the most spectacular performances ever by an LIEFL player and coach! Cowboys Coach Vick said, "Really, you have to tip your hat to Gerald Riggs and their coach in a game like this. The Falcons came back and fought hard and Riggs took over. It was like he had some kind of magic. We played a great game, but we lost the coin toss and that was enough for Atlanta because Riggs won the momentum." Slawson's Corner's Andrew Slawson said, "Now that was an impressive victory. You know the Falcons, they really played a great game, it was a very impressive performance." Riggs has done this kind of damage before, but this one might go down as one of his best because they came from behind and Riggs just took charge of the game. The offensive line of the Falcons are not a team to be messed with. Riggs finished the game with some big yardage totaling 354-yards with four touchdowns. He had 137 rushing yards on 14 carries, and 164 yards on special teams, and 53 yards receiving! How's that for a Sunday afternoon? The Chucker said, "My Falcons are coming for all of you. Riggs is coming after all of you so I'd be careful what you say about him because in the end I'm going to prove this Slawson wrong." For Dallas, Terrell Owens finished with 197 yards and a touchdown and Emmitt Smith rushed for 103 yards against the Falcons in an absolutely incredible game! The Cowboys (0-2), are off the a shaky start. The face a real challenge next week in Seattle and then they will have three home games in a row where they will have the chance to save their 2020 season. It is a huge mountain to climb. Atlanta has such a big game next week at home against the uprising Chicago Bears (1-1)! Gerald Riggs has run up the numbers with 608 total yards and six touchdowns! This guy is on fire and so are the Falcons (2-0)!

  15. CLOCK-EATING PACKERS SHOW THEIR DEFENSIVE MUSCLE BEATING DETROIT, HOLDING DETROIT'S BUSSY TO 81 YARDS! Green Bay's Terdell Middleton (34) runs in the game winning touchdowns for 20 yards as the Packers(2-0) beat division rival Detroit Lions (1-1), 14-7! August 14, 2020. Lambeau Field Green Bay Wisconsin. Anytime the Detroit Lions (1-0) meet up with the Green Bay Packers (1-0) in the Long Island Electric Football League, it means instant battle because it is a strong division rivalry, but as the teams in this league improve through the Draft, the new challenges have to be studied by each coach. Green Bay Coach Eddie Vigs was a quarterback and college scholar-athlete himself, so he understands how important it is to be flexible in his game-plan, but no mercy when it comes to his opponents. "He beats you with silence," said Coach Billy O'C. He is the best coach in the league. Vigs was the alternative coach last year who beat Billy O'C's revived Miami Dolphins 44-41 with the Los Angeles Rams in OT in Super Bowl XV. On the other end of the spectrum the dynamic Detroit Lions are well coached by the "Freeport-Chucker" Johnny Lafromboise, who we call the "risk-taker" in the league as his teams become dangerous when they are ahead or behind in his savvy coaching. Last week the Chucker and his Detroit Lions exploded with superstar Dexter Bussy totaling a record 499-yards with five-touchdowns against the amazing, rising Chicago Bears! The next closest performances were Philadelphia's Harold Carmichael with 338-yards, and Denver's Terell Davis who had 370-yards against the Titans. Slawson's Corner boldly predicted Vigs Packers will win in a close one, but the Chucker says, "hogwash." "How is anyone going to tell me that Vigs Packers will win this game? After we watched Carolina tear them apart in the playoffs 42-20, we figured out a game plan to stop this team on the road. Vigs isn't the only coach who can win a championship in this league. I am bringing a team that continues to perform, and we play well in our away games and our lucky blue and white's (Uniforms). Vigs better be ready for Bussy because when he hits numbers like last week against good teams, that is called momentum! The Packers won't stop our special teams. We are going to make a statement in this game that we won't be manhandled. This is our year, just like in 2016, when we beat New England down to the ground and embarrassed them, and the Rams should watch their back too. It's my job to talk for my teams!" The agitated coach stepped-up his verbiage predicting that his Lions will win the division, and we are only in Week#2. This on-going competitive feud is one-way by the Chucker, but Coach Vigs said, "With the Lions and Bussy, you can't afford not to be prepared because he really is a great player and he's the heart-and-soul of the Lions. We have to get Sterling Sharpe and Jim Taylor more involved in the offense and score more points. Just as Coach Vigs promised, Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe returned the opening kick-off 38 yards. On their first possession Packers running back Terdell Middleton pressed the Detroit Lions defense, almost taunting them to stop him as he had gains of 22, 15, and 8 yards until quarterback Aaron Rogers connected on a 27-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline to Don Hudson, 7-0 Green Bay! The Packers wasted no time scoring with 5:52 left in the half. After a 52 yard kick return on their opening kick-off, Detroit Lions star Dexter Bussy exploding on first down for 29 yards for the first down. Green Bay's defense would make a "not today" statement, stuffing Bussy on his next two runs. On third down, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford found All-Pro Calvin Johnson for a 25-yard touchdown to tie the score at 7-7, to end the first half. Sterling Sharpe took the Packers next kick return 42-yards setting up Middleton with excellent field position for Green Bay. After the Lions stopped Middleton on the Packers drive, Coach Vigs decided to air it out with a great pass to Sharpe for an 18 yard pick-up for a first down! Just as Coach Vigs promised in the pre-game talk, Coach Vigs got Sharpe more involved as Sharpe took the ball to the Detroit 30-yard line with 6:49 left to go in the game. Detroit Lions All_Pro tackle Lomas Brown, was all over the field today making his third stop of the game on Middleton, but the Pack just kept moving the ball forward on a big 8-yard catch from Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rogers to Jim Taylor for the first down with 1:38 left in the game as the Packers drove the ball to the Detroit 20-yard line with time running out, in another challenging defensive battle this week for Green Bay. Last week's win over Minnesota was a powerful display of the Packers tight defense. With 23 seconds left in the game Green Bay's Terdell Middleton ran it in from 20 yards out to put the Packers up for good in their 14-7 victory over the Detroit Lions. The Packers game plan worked for Coach Vigs, to keep the ball away from Dexter Bussy, and it's exactly what they did. They held Bussy to a total 81 yards and shut down the Lions on offense. Coach Vigs said, "Well, now you know the game plan and my Packers are not going to back down to anybody this year. We beat one of the best team's in the LIEFL. This team will come to play you every week. There was no comment of course from the wounded Freeport-Chucker as he rushed out of the "War-Room" silent and the division momentum went to the Packers for today. August 13, 2020. Indianapolis, Indiana. The Long Island Electric Football League was rocking with stubborn defenses in this great match-up of teams and coaches. When defense defines the team for the season, the will of the mind can play games with us. This Week#2 match-up between the new-look defensive Minnesota Vikings (0-1), led by Carl Eller, and Bubba Smith of the Indianapolis Colts (1-0) was just that, a game of the mind between legendary coaches, Joey Pizz and Billy O'C, two excellent coaches who have played in some humongous games. Pizz' most memorable game came in 1984 when his then Colts rocked O'C's Dolphins 21-14! Pizz said, "That was a great game and I actually loved that feeling of beating those old Dolphins because they were so dominant that season. But I had Curtis Dickey running the ball all season with precision. I think he had 1600 yards and about 20 touchdowns that season, but he had 150 yards rushing in that Dolphins game. He was unstoppable!" The Colts lost that year 33-32 to the other dominant team in the AFC, the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card Game. Since then, Pizz kept his Jets and Giants as each coach negotiated to keep their number-one favorite team, and Billy O'C kept Miami, and he won the hat-pick of the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and these Indianapolis Colts, but he has Joseph Addai in the backfield. Coach Pizz' Vikings have a different tone to them this season. They lost to 2019 Coach of the Year, Ed Vigs and his Green Bay Packers (1-0) last week 7-0 in another powerful defensive game for Minnesota. The game was predicted to be high-scoring "romp" by Slawson's Corner so Pizz said he took aim at Slawson's predictions because he feels Slawson always puts his teams on the losing end. We asked Slawson about that an he said, "Listen, I don't have a crystal ball and I predict, not determine the outcome of these electric games. I think the coaches need to get their act together to win in this competitive league. I have been involved in football for 40 years, I am not Robert Channing. In reality my prediction that the Vikings would lose was correct wasn't it?" On the opening kick-off Addai ran the ball for a short 33-yard kick return for Coach Billy O'C's Colts. O'C has turned this team into a running machine, but Coach Pizz has readied his Vikings defense, who are off to a slow start offensively this year. After four consecutive runs that "Purple-People-Eater" defense of Minnesota forced Indianapolis to pass the ball as Indianapolis quarterback, Jacoby Brissett hit Joseph Addai on the run for a 50-yard gain, bringing the ball to the Minnesota Viking 10-yard line with 6:01 left to go in the half. It took three more runs for the Colts to get into the end-zone until finally, from 6-yards out Addai curled around the left side of the field to scorch into the end-zone to make the score 7-0, Colts! The Minnesota Viking defense stepped up to the plate as the Colts offense ate up the clock ending the first half of great electric football and coaching. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson took it out of the end-zone on the kickoff for a 46-yard return, hit hard by Indianapolis Colts special teams player, Marvin Harrison. Harrison was slow getting up. This was such an intense battle. On this series of downs, Minnesota played the clock down to 2:27 in the game when Chuck Foreman caught a great 35-yard touchdown pass, running into the end zone to tie the game at, 7-7! As time ran out in the game Joseph Addai went right to work, catching a a 21-yard pass for a first down, but Indianapolis ran out of time sending the game into overtime. Billy O'C's Colts won the OT coin toss in what turned into a defensive war. On the kick-off for the Colts, Minnesota EFL Hall of Fame lineman Carl Eller came up with a huge hit on Addai for the second time in the game making a beautiful open field tackle holding Addai to a 27-yard kick return. On first down in overtime Addai busted out with a 23-yard run to bring the Colts offense to midfield. After two failed runs in a tough push back by the Minnesota Vikings defense, tight end Raymond Berry broke away from double-coverage as he blazed down the right sideline for the game-winning touchdown 53-yards play giving the Indianapolis Colts their second win of the 2020 season for Coach Billy O'C. What a game! Billy O'C said, "I love competing against Pizz. He is one of the classiest coaches in this league and I know we know each other's every move so winning will be when each of us makes a mistake and the other takes advantage of it." Indianapolis Joseph Addai finished the day with 15 carries and 226 total yards with a touchdown and Minnesota's Adrian Peterson went 9-87-0. The Colts face the tough New York Jets (1-1), at home next week and then they are on to way to Soldier Field to play the high-octane Chicago Bears in what should be a great game between Billy O'C and Bears Coach Paddy Brannigan. Mulqueens high-flying Eagles stepped-up their game as Mulqueen engineered the best coaching performance of his LIEFL career! This has to go down as another historic game involving the Rams, this time on the losing end in a mind-blowing performance by Philadelphia's Harold Carmichael! Carmichael played to perfection with a record three 100 yard kick returns for touchdowns in the game, outplaying this great Coach Billy O'C, and his 2018 and 2019 LIEFL Super Bowl XVI and XV Champion Rams! Carmichael finished with three touchdowns and an incredible 338 yards! Second best only to Detroit's Dexter Bussy this season who had 499 yards against the Bears in Week#1! The grudge match is not over yet, as these two teams may be meeting again in the NFC playoffs as Coach Billy O'C's Rams battle for their third straight title. The Eagles opened the game up with a hundred-yard kick-return for a touchdown by Superman Harold Carmichael, in a sensational run which Carmichael started out to the right side of the field, and then he turned right down the center of the field speeding right past Los Angeles LIEFL All-Pro lineman Chris Long for the touchdown as though he had a mind of his own! Coach Billy O'C said, "Mulqueen is a great coach. In all of my years of playing this game, I never saw a play like that, and man, coach brought his game. Carmichael just left me speechless with the talent he has. Carmichael is the best player we have ever faced. He got even better if that's possible since the Wild Card Game. I love this kind of competition!" The Eagles started it up, 7-0 in an electrifying game with two teams who have become fierce rivals! On the ensuing kickoff, LIEFL All-Pro, two-time MVP Isaac Bruce, took it back 56 yards, but was hit hard by Philadelphia lineman, Jerome Brown. After two short runs last year's Super Bowl XV MVP Wendell Tyler, found an opening and took it through his "Fabulous-Five" front line for a quick striking 43-yard touchdown downfield to tie the score 7-7! On the Eagles next possession Carmichael sped downfield and was hit in a head-on collision with Ricky Proehl for 38 yards. The Eagles could not run the ball on Los Angeles. Keith Byars was silenced. A few plays later quarterback Carson Wentz tossed an incredible rocket-pass to receiver Irving Fryar who showed his speed with a 70-yard touchdown catch to give Philadelphia the lead, 14-7, dusting the Rams defenders! Before the half ended the "Reverend" Isaac Bruce ran the ball back 47-yards giving Wendell Tyler and the Fabulous-Five great field position in scoring position. The thrill of the competition continued in the second-half as the Eagles defense kicked-in as both coaches were in the heat of battle. Wendell Tyler at full-speed collided with Philadelphia's defensive tackle, Jerry Sisemore who made a huge hit on Tyler stopping him just short of a Rams first-down. Sisemore opened eyes with a powerful four tackles on the day. He made two consecutive tackles on Tyler, bringing Wendell Tyler down at the 26 yard line of the Eagles for another Rams first down. On third down the Rams capitalized on an open third-down specialist for the Rams, Ricky Prohel for a 27-yard touchdown play making the score, 14-14 with 6:12 left to go in the game. Tyler finished the day with 89 rushing yards and two-touchdowns! And another kick-off to the Eagles and the lethal Harold Carmichael. OH MY GOD! Carmichael did it again! Carmichael blazed it right up the middle of the field exploding for a stunning 100-yard kick return, giving the Philadelphia Eagles the advantage on their home turf, 21-14 over the Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams, with 4:58 left to go in the game. Carmichael to this point had 238-yards in a game! He put on a clinic! To make this rematch even more exciting, never count Billy O'C's teams out of the game. On the Rams' next kickoff return, Isaac Bruce exploded on an 86-yard return to the Philadelphia 11-yard line with 3:35 left to go in the game in back-to-back nail-biters today. On the Rams first play from scrimmage in this set of downs, Tyler switches his direction and goes from left to right, faking out the Eagles for a 19-yard touchdown play, with the score tied, 21-21, with 2:20 left to go in the game. This one's going down as one of the greatest in history for sure. Harold Carmichael with 50 seconds left ran back his third 100-yard kick return of the game putting the Eagles up 28-21 for good! Bruce, who finished the day with 166 kick-return yards, got one more chance to tie the game, coming up just short of a back-to-back hundred-yard returns as he's brought down for a 63-yard kick return and the Philadelphia Eagles in an amazing performance get revenge, 28-21 over the defending champion Los Angeles Rams in an absolutely super finish! The excitement in the league is incredible. Each time we thought we had the best performances, they get even better! Slawson's corner predicted a great game between the Bears and Giants favoring Chicago by three at home, but this one was a breath-taker with Paddy Brannigan's Chicago Bears outplaying Coach Pizz' New York Giants in a thriller! Unreal! On the opening drive Chicago's Willie Gault took it back 50-yards for the Chicago Bears. After seven plays for the Bears the Giant defense came up big, forcing the Bears to kick a field-goal with 1:51 left to go in the half making the score 3-0, Bears. The Giants spend almost 13 minutes killing the clock in the first half. In the begining of the second half, New York got busy. Giants running back Saquon Barkley, on his only run of the game took it a league best 60-yards around left tackle Osi Umenyiora for a Giants touchdown, sizzling the Bears defense, but the Bears were just getting warmed up! On the Bears next possession legendary Walter Payton had some extreme razzle-dazzle moves, one for a 3-yard gain and another one for a 29-yard run as he was spinning out of bounds and picked up an extra 10 yards when he was hit by another player from his own team taking the ball to the New York Giants 26-yard line with 9:17 left to go in the game. After three seasons the Bears pick-ups in the Draft are paying off for Coach Brannigan as he was loud and proud yelling for his team to perform, as we EFLer's do when we play in a big game. There is no quit in this Bear team as they drove 55 yards downfield in 8th plays, eating up the clock as Walter Payton ran into the end zone from 5 yards away to put the Chicago Bears ahead of the New York Giants 10-7 with 3:25 left in the game. What a game! Nothing but excitement! The Bears are in-sync and playing well as a team. On the Giants kick-off, Odell Beckham Jr., ran the ball back 64-yards on the kick return to set up the Giants at the 36-yard line of the Chicago Bears with 1:50 left in the game. With the clock winding down the Giants had a chance to win the game, but a spectacular tackle by Don Hampton on Ahmad Bradshaw saved the day as this game was out of time and heading to overtime. For the second straight week, Chicago found themselves in another overtime game, losing last week's dual 34-28, in a historic battle with division rival Detroit. Willie Gault shinned in that game with a spectacular 236 yard day with a hundred yard kick-return for a touchdown. The Bears won the overtime coin toss and from their own end-zone in dramatic fashion, the Giants just couldn't touch Gault as he whizzed down the Giants sideline for 100 yard kick-return in 13 seconds in overtime as the Chicago Bears win a huge game 16-10! Gault finished with 195 yards, totaling 485 yards with his third touchdown of the year, and Walter Payton rushed for 74 yards against a tough New York defense. The Long Island Electric Football League payout is big this season. In June coaches paid a league fee of $150, and at the end of the year the $150 league fee goes into a pool for December's Granddaddy of them all, with the Long Island Electric Football Super Bowl XVI winner taking $750 and the trophy, and the loser of the Super Bowl earns $350 with the AFC and NFC Championship Game loser earning $50 each! Next year for our 50th Anniversary celebration, two-time USA World Swimmer Greg Jagenberg, will sponsor and donate the $750 for LIEFL's Super Bowl XVII winner. $1500 dollars is a huge payday! Also, the league announced that fierce competitor Joe "Bino" Cerabino will be the alternate coach, which means that when a coach has a team that has to compete against one of his own teams, instead, Bino will fill that role. So if two of your four teams are playing each other, Bino plays with one of the teams. He has much experience! The dream of the league is to have 32 fully committed coaches! Even though it is early in the season for the Long Island Electric Football, it is never too early to follow important rival match-ups that become meaningful in the last few weeks of the four-month season. The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1), lost to the Indianapolis Colts (1-0) in Week #1, which makes for a tough mountain to climb when losing at home in this league, but rookie Coach Levi Vick, who has experience from another league says his Jags are going to win any way they can. Vick moved to New York from Tuscon, Arizona last year where he won his 12-man EFL Championship against mostly passing coaches. He is coaching the Cowboys, Patriots, Texans and these Jaguars in the LIEFL. "I heard about this league through Coach Pizz and I waited about a year to get in when another coach unfortunately became sick with COVID-19, so he had to opt out. This is a bittersweet exciting opportunity that I could fill the vacant slot. This league might expand to 10-coaches next year, and that would mean I could play permanently with the league and what I really love about it is these guys are really committed to the hobby. I am just learning the teams and the coaches, but I know the game, and my teams will be ready," said Vick. Vick is facing the loudest coach in the LIEFL, Kevin Maloney with his Tennessee Titans (0-1), who lost in a brawl to Denver in Week #1 24-21. Maloney is always ready for electric football showdown, it's a huge hobby for him. He is never at a loss for words either when it comes to the other coaches in this league. The league has a "Push it forward" attitude. The losing team has to do the write-ups and then the Commissioner, Professor Billy O'C posts on the Tudor website. "We love it," said Maloney. Maloney continued, "I don't know Levi well, but he will know my Titans today because not only are we in the same division, but he cannot stop my passing game, and just like his Texans lost last week to the Chiefs, this game with his Jaguars will be a repeat of that Chiefs game. Just because we lost last week doesn't mean we lose as a habit and in this league when you don't bring your A-Game, someone else will. It is really a great league, flexible and well organized with established guys, strict rules, fines, stats and top coaches with proven track records. For two-hours a week, it's the greatest downtime I have during the week. I like to pass so I don't think anyone in this can pass like I do." Maloney also plays in a New York City league where his Titans won their Super Bowl. Speaking of passing, Maloney's Titans and Enron Kinney played like a Super Bowl MVP busting out with 268 yards and three touchdowns in the Titans, 24-21 loss to Denver! Titan specialist and last week's play-maker against the Broncos, Enron Kinney, opened the game with a 48 yards kickoff return. Tennessee running back Eddie George on his first run, ran for 12 yards and the first down to the Jacksonville Jaguar 40-yard line. Two plays later the Jaguars defense came alive and defied the Kevin Maloney's Titans for a 16-yard loss on second down. And on second down, not to be outplayed, George earned all those lost yards back with a first down to the Jacksonville 30, with Moloney's Titans banging on the door in a fierce battle. After three straight first downs by George totaling 32 yards the Jacksonville defense made more adjustments, pushing George back to the 18-yard line for an 8-yard loss. Then Rob Meier, tackle for the Jaguars, made a sensational tackle at the 2-yard line on George forcing Tennessee to pass the ball after being stopped on third down. One play later Ryan Tannenhill had a 5-yard toss to the reliable Lorenzo Neal as he went into the end-zone giving Tennessee the lead 7-0, as the first half came to a close. Jacksonville's Fred Taylor is off to a slow start this season with the league improving, Coach Vick missed the Draft being a rookie coach, but he is working with what he has. Taylor had a very hard time running the ball against this tough Titan defense. But on third down for Jacksonville, Coach Vick gave Kevin Maloney's Titans a taste of their own medicine with a beautiful 19-yard pass to receiver Allen Hurns, but they fell just short of the first down at the Titan 35-yard line with one yard to go for the 1st. And on fourth Taylor came up big with a first down for the Jaguars with 8:30 left to go in the game. It would be the only rushing yard in the game for Taylor and the Jacksonville offense which total just 20 yards against the experienced Kevin Maloney and the Titans. And after two more failed runs with Taylor getting pushed back the Jaguars could not complete a pass on third down forcing a major 4th down decision for the Jaguars as they settled for a field-goal from 40 yards away with 3:36 left to go in the game 7-3, Titans in the lead! On the kickoff Tennessee's Brandon Jones took the ball back 60-yards with 2:08 remaining in the game. Two plays later, the Tennessee Titans (1-1), ran the clock down to kick a field-goal and win the game, beating the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2), 10-3. This low-scoring match-up set the tone for the division. Tennessee's Eddie George had 51 yards rushing in this low-scoring duel and a decent showing on defense for Coach Levi Vick.   21. HARPER IS BACK AS JETS UPSET 49ERS IN STUNNER! (Meadowlands, NJ August 10, 2020). The New York Jets and Coach Joey Pizz are on a hot streak. They came out to play tonight and the game plan worked! The 49ers were no joke in 2019 going (6-2) and losing in the NFC Divisional Game 38-34 to division rival Los Angeles Rams. On "Slawson's Corner" it was predicted that the Jets would have their hands full trying to shut down last year's #1 rusher and LIEFL record-breaker Ricky Watters and a very competitive 49er football team. San Francisco is coming off a big loss and letdown at home in Week#1 against the Arizona Cardinals, which could affect the entire season for San Francisco as they get off to a rough start. "You can't afford to fall behind in this league. We have to try to figure things out here with the Jets tonight, and we have the Giants next week" said 49ers Coach Ed Viglietta. The Jets may be as good as they were in 2008, when they won the 32-team throwback tournament and then in an upset, they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card Game 34-31 in (OT), before losing to the AFC Champion that year, New England 35-31 in the AFC Divisional Championship Game! It would be their only playoff appearance in LIEFL history and since 2008, the New York Jets and Coach Pizz are (6-15). With the Draft, the league has changed dramatically with the league becoming extremely competitive and unpredictable with the eight "Alpha-personalities" as coaches who have the desire for success. Jets back Bruce Harper was riddled with injuries in 2019, but they picked up Le'Veon Bell last season who was a big contributor with 543 yards totaled with five touchdowns. Coach Pizz' goal is to create a dynamic-duo between Harper and Bell to make the Jets more competitive in the already competitive AFC East. On offense the experience and leadership of Bruce Harper has made a difference with big contributions the last two games. If Harper can stay healthy the Jets may again reach the playoffs.On defense, the Jets came up big in the Draft with much needed improvements. Coach Pizz won, gaining defensive back Jamal Adams and a front line anchored by Joe Klecko. On New York's opening drive, Bruce Harper's first run from scrimmage, he ran a 19-yard first down for the Jets and then he sped through the 49er defense for a six yard touchdown after a 75-yard kick return by return-man Wesley Walker on the Jets opening drive to take the lead, 7-0 for New York! Pizz has his Jets looking terrific, even after the 14-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, holding OJ Simpson to 78 yard rushing the Jets have rebounded with an attitude. Harper's touchdown put the score at 7-0, with 10:54 left to go in the half! San Francisco return specialist Jerry Rice returned the ball on the kickoff 46 yards for Ricky Watters and the San Francisco offensive line to take over. Watters was held to 77 rushing yards last week against Arizona, so Coach Viglietta said that he has to get Watters more involved in the game. It took six plays for Watters to score on a 22-yard run to tie the game 7-7, with 44 seconds left in the half! The second half of football went fast with a back-and-forth defensive battle between the Jets front three of Gastineau, Hill, and Klecko and 49er's Haley, Dean, and Cross, fighting hard in the trenches making Watters and the 49ers work overtime for a few yards. It is a change in the Jets. On a 29-yard return by Walker, New York managed to battle down field with Harper catching a wobbly 40-yard pass from Jets quarterback Sam Darnell, and then Harper had a 22-yard run, and finally, Harper caught another pass for 18 yard pass, this time for a touchdown, putting the Jets ahead 14-10 with time running out on Viglietta's San Francisco 49ers. On San Francisco's final drive, Jerry Rice managed a 50-yard return and the 49ers kicked a 50-yard field-goal, as the New York Jets win their home opener 14-10 in a stunner! Bruce Harper had 9 carries for 107 total yards with two touchdowns, and Wesley Walker had two returns for 104 yards!
