  1. PANTHERS UPSET VIKINGS IN OT INCREDIBLE HEARTFELT GAME HONORING THE GREAT GALE SAYERS! September 29, 2020. Minneapolis Minnesota. Today's Long Island Electric Football League game pits the Minnesota Vikings (1-3), against the two-time consecutive NFC finalist Carolina Panthers (2-2)! The Vikings struggled this year on offense until last week when Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson exploded for 300 total-yards in the game against Houston, with three touchdowns. That is the kind of performance Coach Joey Pizz wants to see from his veteran, who has been lackluster at best the past two seasons. Minnesota's defensive game has been right on point! Coach Pizz, who has played terrific in the past two weeks said, "It has been a nice five-day break in the league, and I have been practicing with my Vikings team, constantly finding ways for them to improve. Today, my team has to battle to the last second in order to win this game. We have to breakout the receivers to win the game because the Panthers are one of those teams we cannot fall asleep on. This game can keep us in the playoff hunt, but we need to improve on offense." This Vikings defense has kept them in the game for nearly every game this season. And today, they're going to need that defense now more than ever playing against a very feisty Panther team. The Panthers have a chance to capitalize on the Falcons 24-21 overtime loss to the Raiders yesterday. The two time NFC finalists have the opportunity to make their move into first place in the NFC South for the third straight year but it won't be easy, as nothing is easy in the LIEFL when it comes to winning. Panthers Coach McQueen said, "With a team like the Vikings, it's not just the team, it's the great coaching they have. I expect my team to come out and do some damage and put this Viking defense to the test. We have had a rough schedule, but we have performed well." Wow! The fireworks started right from the beginning of the game, as Adrian Peterson's exploded for an opening kickoff return for a hundred-yard touchdown! Vikings took the lead, 7-0! Beautiful run by Peterson! The Vikings needed to get that offensive going tonight and it appears they have! The Long Island Electric Football League announced that September will be Gale Sayers month as the LIEFL continues discussing the National Dialogue on Race, making a difference in our World, and the world of electric football! On the opening kickoff for Carolina, fullback Greg Jones ran into a brick wall, met by a tough Vikings defense! Alan Page made the tackle at the 37-yard line of Carolina for Minnesota. The Panthers were stopped on three straight running plays by the Vikings, with Alan Page again, making the tackle with John Randle leading the way for the Vikings, forcing a fourth downplay! On fourth down Keary Colbert took a Cam Newton touchdown pass 66 yards into the end zone to tie the game 7-7, with 5:34 left to go in the half! Incredible excitement! Adrian Peterson picked up exactly where he left off this time for a 62-yard kick-return, giving the Vikings beautiful field position at the 38-yard line of the Carolina Panthers. In these last two games Minnesota has looked outstanding and we can't help but reflect on their defense and the fact that they're playing the Panthers the way they are has opened eyes! On offense, the Vikings ran the ball hard on first down with Adrian Peterson ran for four yards. On the next play, Peterson ran a 17-yard run right up the middle with some amazing blocking by the Vikings who took the ball to the 17-yard line of Carolina, bringing the first half to a close! Coach Joey Pizz has a motivated Vikings team playing playoff style football! On the first play of the second half Adrian Peterson scored from 17 yards away to make the score 14-7, with 14:02 left to go in the game and the Vikings take the lead! Peterson is on fire! That motto, "True Champions Never Quit" stands true for this team, even with their record, and at this very moment, the season appears far from over for these Vikings, as the NFC North heats up! The league has finally figured out Carolina fullback, Greg Jones kick return techniques, as he returns to ball 36-yards. Jones would be a starter on any team in the Long Island Electric Football League. There is talk by Coach Matt Zoo-York McQueen that he may shop Jones out and give up a few first-round draft choices for him. Jones would be worth it and the Panthers would consider a blocking back tyo block for All-Pro running back DeShaun Foster. Holy cow! What a run! On first down Foster blasted around the right side of the line of scrimmage for a scorching 64-yard touchdown run for a huge touchdown run with 11:13 left to go in the game to tie the score at 14-14! Adrian Peterson is tearing it up in the last two games, this time against a very impressive Carolina Panther team as Peterson returns the ball in the kickoff 70 yards. On the next play Peterson ran for a 20-yard first down to the Carolina 10-yard line with Page, Randle, and Marshall leading the way, with 7:39 left to go in the game. The Panthers were "handled" by this tough Viking team. It is hard to believe that a team as good as Minnesota is (1-3). We have not seen the Panthers get pushed back like this all season long. The Vikings have come very much alive in Week#5, and it all began last week. They may have lost to Houston 24-21, but they put up a huge battle! And on second down, Adrian Peterson barreled his way through his line scoring his third touchdown of the game from 7-yards out to make the score 21-14, in an unbelievable game, with 4:37 left to go with the Minnesota Vikings in the lead! Greg Jones took the ball back 55-yards on the kick-return with time running out in regulation. On first down Jones caught a nice pass from Cam Newton, bringing the ball 35-yards to the Vikings 10-yard line. On the next play, a wide open Jeff King roped in a beautiful pass for 10 yards and a Panthers touchdown to tie the game Panthers 21-Vikings 21! Another spectacular Week#5 overtime game! Wow! The Panthers win the overtime coin toss in an unbelievable turn of events! Coach Pizz had his heart drop as the Vikings put on their most impressive performance of the season, only to lose the coin toss in overtime in an absolutely incredible game! In overtime, Greg Jones took the ball back 39 yards for Carolina. DeShaun Foster took over and in a single play Foster took a blazing run, exactly like his first 64-yard touchdown, this time taking the carry 64-yards into the end-zone, game over! The Carolina Panthers are in first place in a comeback victory 27-21! This is what happens when a winning team in this league, who played in the NFC championship game two years in a row, plays this type of playoff caliber football. This Panther team is unbelievable! We wish you were here to watch it! What an upset! Coach McQueen said, "The Vikings played a heck of a football game and I have to tip my hat to Coach Pizz. He's an amazing coach and we just happened to get the better of him today!" Pizz said, "You can't make mistakes against a team like the Panthers. The way Foster ran around the ends that fast into the end-zone. It made my heart come out of my chest as I watched my team lose a game that they should not have lost." This game was a very special game for the second week in a row Adrian Peterson had 300 yards and three touchdowns, but this time it was against an outstanding football team. Peterson had 232 yards in kick-returns, plus a hundred yard touchdown run. The Carolina Panthers gave us a taste of what it's like to be in the heart of a championship type team as they come back to win the game in overtime 27-21, with DeShawn Foster the hero! Foster had two enormous runs, almost identical, finishing the day with five rushes for 126 yards, with two touchdowns! Greg Jones had 168 yards in kick-returns as the Panthers win the game in 1:26 of overtime! Minnesota faces the Chicago Bears in a division showdown in Week#6! And Carolina, who suddenly finds themselves at the top in the NFC South, plays the undefeated Green Bay Packers in a rematch of last year's Wild Card game. The Packers lost that game to a Panthers team that dominated Green Bay 42-20!
  2. FALCONS COMMEMORATE THE LIFE OF GALE SAYERS BUT ARE UPSET BY THE RAIDERS AS CASPER AND RIGGS FACEOFF WITH 767 TOTAL YARDS AND 6 TD'S IN OT! HISTORY BEYOND THE GAME: After a five day off period in the Long Island EFL, we resume play today with Inter-League Play and a beast of an AFC-NFC matchup! The legendary gridiron warriors ALWAYS matter in the NFL because they inspire others to be better. Better players, better people make life transformations to build better communities. Legendary Chicago Bears running back, Gale Sayers is one of those people! Just as the Chicago Bears when they play this week will commemorate the life of Gale Sayers, our league is respectfully honoring Gale Sayers before this game and every game this week by offering a few moments of silence by watching a video Long Island Electric Football League Founder, William O'Connell produced in memory of Sayers. Our electric football Bears will do an official event in Week #7 when they play rival Green Bay at home by watching "A Football Life" Sayers and Butkus. Gayle Sayers was not just about football, he was a man of integrity, about doing the right thing, about overcoming the barrier of racism. His place in football history speaks volumes about the man, the legend, the play-maker, and his legacy as we celebrate his life. Sayers deserves a tribute! Our coaches joined hands as the video played thinking of our own immortality. League Founder William "Billy" O'Connell was asked by Slawson's Corner Analyst Andrew Slawson about the news piece he produced regarding the death on September 23, 2020, of Chicago Bears Hall of Fame running back, Gale Sayers. O'Connell said, "Years ago, when I was a news reporter, way before I began teaching, I loved to do time-capsule pieces, and this Gale Sayers video is one what gave me a sense of deep respect for a man I never met and his rightful place in history. Sayers left his legacy behind for generations of athletes. Being that my mother was an International athlete from Cuba, I thought, there is no better way to commemorate someone's life than by showing who they were. Nothing is more powerful than producing a historic memory of that person. I sourced some clips from NFL Films and did my own produced version of how I want people to remember Gale Sayers beyond the football field in a world where racial tensions are high." We write in this Tudor Games Forum, to write History! The reason is, we want this writing about this league to be part of a wonderful Tudor Games story that only those who play the game can tell. All of us are a small part of their success. This is a story for kids to see what a hobby can evolve into. We try to edit the writing, but with the professions and work schedule's everyone has, that wouldn't be possible. When the losing team is responsible for writing the articles on here it says much about the love we all have for the hobby. Commitment is a funny word. People throw it around a lot. Our friendship to each other is a strong commitment and the loyalty and United Brotherhood we share is rare. It is rooted in our upbringing of what the American Family was then, when we grew up, to what it is now, and the world our children face. We are here for a short time on this planet, but we are here, here to be part of something special that we created that we can be proud of! Kids need a sense of pride to recapture what the human spirit is capable of. Nobody needs a lecture, but our generation born in the 60's encompasses more than just time. We have a mission to leave behind a better world! This hobby does that, it shows us the better part of life that exists when people come together regardless of who they are, to play in a Brotherhood and Sisterhood of passion linked to this game. Coach Billy O'C, LIEFL-Founder said, "Nobody likes to lose the chance to win money, but I think it is about pride too, in any league. You get the chance to brag until next season's draft when the new draft bases come in to change the game as competition progressively improves to reach new heights. We have considered the possibility of extending the league to 32 coaches, but that would mean 100% commitment from 32 people. It is a huge undertaking! With work and all the other things in life going on, that would be hard to accomplish, but the payout would be great! Do the math $200 annual dues x 32 to the Super Bowl Winner and AFC-NFC Finalists! The Long Island Electric Football League makes it a priority to be as organized, as strict with rules as possible, and we keep every detail and accurate statistic of the league. It is amazing! Few leagues around the country have the records the way the Long Island Electric Football League has. What you see on the Tudor site regarding the LIEFL, is only the structure. We have the core recorded, with each team's individual statistics for tackles, yards, carries, touchdowns for each individual player, and we have All-Time team records for every single game each team and coach has ever played. LIEFL-Co-Founder Eddie Viggs said, "It's what I love so much about this league. You know it's in the back of our minds that we can reflect on the league records, it's history, and our contributions to the best hobby on earth. With the records, it makes it more realistic when we play to feel as though we are part of something bigger than us, something we can leave behind to some really special person. We can strive to set new goals, perform at different heights, and set new records like a real league. The fact that we can reflect to the extent of the league records shows how special this hobby is. Next year, a major Newspaper will do a story on our league as we celebrate our 50th year playing this incredible addictive hobby. I can think of worse things we could be doing at our age." September 25, 2020. Atlanta, Georgia. Week #5 is Blazing in the Long Island Electric Football League as the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) play the Atlanta Falcons (2-2). It's a dirty game with two coaches on the brink of unleashing their frustration. The Falcons started the season on fire, beating Seattle and Dallas, but then this outstanding Chicago Bears (3-1) team came to the Dome and beat the "Dirty Birds" on their home turf in a stunning victory, 20-14 in overtime, which altered the Falcons 2020 season! It would be a shock if the Bears do not make the playoffs this season. They are a Super Bowl contender, but so is Atlanta. Falcons Coach, Johnny Freeport-Chucker lost a big game Wednesday with his Bengals against the Giants in a LIEFL historic game, but tonight he vows to take it out on Coach Kevin "Mac" Maloney's Raiders today. The Chucker has a slight chance to have four teams in the playoffs this season, and the Falcons are one of them. With Atlanta's Gerald Riggs at running back, anything is possible. Riggs ranks #3 in the NFC in all-purpose yards with 48 carries for 942-yards, with eight touchdowns. That is a lot of offensive firepower to stop, and the AFC teams are just a step short of playing at the level of the NFC teams in this league. Of course, that is a matter of opinion, but we can never underestimate the Raiders. To say the least, Las Vegas has underperformed the past two seasons. The league continues to evolve into what we could describe as a fiercely competitive, organized productive hobby with a Kaizen approach to success. The Raiders were once the dominant team in the league back in 2008, when they won the first seven-game season format Super Bowl, but these days, they need a makeover. This team has undergone many changes in the NFL, but in electric football the weird part is, when the team goes through changes it seems to effect us as well. The synergy between a coach and a team is very magical. When five-time LIEFL All-Pro, tight-end Dave Casper came onto the scene in our league in 2008, we realized that this type of Tudor Games player base was something our league lacked. Now, we see studs throughout the league using that particular generation of player bases. Casper is the guy for the Raiders. Casper ranks #10 in AFC all-purpose yards with 612 yards with only one 100-yard TD. Last year Casper was the #1 kick-returner in the AFC, with 1323 yards. He had seven 100-yard TD's. When he isn't working on all cylinders, it's lights out in Las Vegas. Casper has to have a career day to beat the Falcons on their home turf! THE PLAY BY PLAY: Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) vs Atlanta Falcons (2-2) The Falcons came out on fire and it did not take them long to score! Atlanta running back Gerald Riggs ran back a 67-yard opening kickoff return to the Raiders 33-yard line. It took Riggs just two plays to get into the end zone from 25-yard away after a sweet 8-yard run! 7-0 Atlanta, with 11:19 left to go in the half! Gerald Riggs just went over the 1,000 yard mark again! The one thing Gerald Riggs is lacking is a LIEFL-Super Bowl ring! He's accomplished almost every other feat in the league. Las Vegas Superman Dave Casper took the ball back 47-yards on the Raiders opening drive! He earned that name in LIEFL-Super Bowl XI, when he single-handedly beat the New York Giants 27-21, with a 100-yard kick return to open up the game, and in a spectacular overtime finish, Casper stunned the Giants with another 100-yard touchdown to win the game for the then Oakland Raiders! The Raiders haven't quite been able to get back to that status in finding the magic that they found in 2008, but they will never back down from a challenge! The Raiders had a beautiful set of downs, Dave Casper returned the ball 47-yards on the kick return and after two failed running attempts by Bo Jackson, Las Vegas quarterback David Carr faded back on third down and he passed a beautiful sideline pass to Dave Casper who took it 72-yards down field for the touchdown to tie the score 7-7, with 4:54 left to go in the half! Wow, what a play! The Falcons game storming right back with a 44-yard kick return by Gerald Riggs. On first down, Riggs took the ball 19-yards. But on the next play, Riggs scored on a 37 yard touchdown play to make the score 14-7, Atlanta took the lead as the first half came to a close! To open the second half, Dave Casper gave the Raiders great field position with a 60-yard kick return, returning the ball to the falcon 40-yard line. The Raiders had to try to keep this game close to get it into overtime as they try to avert a fourth loss in the 2020 season. Las Vegas running back Bo Jackson picked up nine yards on first down bringing it to the 31-yard line of Atlanta. It would be Jackson's only yards in the game. On second down Jackson got stuffed and brought back to the original line of scrimmage at the 40, and the Raiders were forced to pass the ball. And again, on third down quarterback David Carr came through in the clutch for the Raiders with a 40-yard touchdown strike to Tim Brown! Great play to tie the game 14-14, with 10:46 left to go in the game! On the ensuing kick return, Riggs proved why he is so valuable to the Falcons as he took the ball back 70-yards on the kickoff, and that type of field position would be very difficult to defend against as the clock kept ticking at 8:45 left to go in the game. Riggs and Casper were both unstoppable. After a 2-yard run by Riggs, the Raiders defense could not stop Riggs as he ran 28-yards to the Las Vegas 2-yard line after being tackled by Las Vegas defensive tackle, Howie Long. And on first down, Riggs ran into the end-zone with his third touchdown of the day making the score 21-14, Atlanta in the lead with 5:12 left to go in the game with the clock ticking! What a day for Riggs! And the Raiders needed to do something drastic after the 40-yard return by Casper who ran right down the center of the field, but there was nowhere to run for the Raiders. They were forced to pass on first down with 3:10 left to go in the game! Superman Dave Casper just exploded on first down on a short pass at the 40-yard line and Casper took it 60-yards down field for his second touchdown of a game! He was absolutely on fire! It is an extremely dangerous move when a guy like this gets going tie game 21-21 with two-minutes left and the clock is running! Casper was having a great game. He played like the Dave Casper that we watched in the LIEFL-Super Bowl XI, dominating on the ends. This game was really going to elevate his motive to win, even though the Raiders are behind in the division, they this may be their last chance of the season to save themselves in an intense division. As time ran out Riggs took a 35-yard kick return back. The Falcons had one chance left to prevent the game from going into overtime. Julio Jones on first down ran 46-yards for the first down, forcing the game into overtime! The expression on the Freeport-Chucker's face when the Raiders won the coin toss in overtime, said it all! The Falcons coach shouted profanities, which in this league is a 15 yard penalty. Advantage Las Vegas as the coach cost his team an opportunity to stop the Raiders,. Instead, Atlanta was on the verge of collapsing and losing their second home game of the season and jeopardizing their playoff hopes. The Raiders won the coin toss! On the overtime kick-return, Dave Casper ran a blazing 74 yard return! The Raiders didn't waste a second. They kicked a 26-yard field goal to win the game in overtime 16 seconds! What an upset! The Falcons may have just surrendered the division to their Arch enemy the Carolina Panthers and the Freeport Chucker left his Falcons on the table without putting them away, as League commissioner Pete Porcelli makes the Falcons pay with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and a warning for the start of the next game! No comments after this game in Atlanta's 24-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders! What an explosive day! Gerald Riggs went 11-337 total yards with three touchdowns with 121 of those yards being rushing yards. Las Vegas Dave Casper went on a blaze torching the Falcons with 353 yards on 6 carries, with 2 touchdowns. Casper had 132 receiving yards! The Atlanta Falcons (2-3) are home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week and the Raiders host the tough Los Angeles Chargers (4-1)!

  7. JETS BELL'S MAGICAL 100-YARD RETURN IN OT DROWNS MIAMI TO TAKE OVER FIRST PLACE IN AFC EAST! September 24, 2020. Meadowlands, New Jersey. WEEK#5 THE COUNTDOWN: People not from the New York Metropolitan area should know that where the Jets play is a long ride to nowhere, the Meadowlands. It is no meadow that for sure. And because of the heavy traffic in this area we Long Islanders would not regularly travel to New Jersey to watch a football game. In the Long Island Electric football league when it comes to the Miami Dolphins (3-1) and the New York Jets(2-2), it's always a game with lots of fireworks. Over the years the Dolphins have had a seesaw battle with the Jets, but this year's Jets have opened some eyes. They did lose their first game of the season to Buffalo 14-7, then they beat a struggling San Francisco 49ers team 14-10, and in Indianapolis they lost to the Colts 17-6, convincingly. Last week they played an amazing game against Denver beating the Broncos 24-21 in overtime, and that is the magic Jets Coach Pizz hopes to get back after his last upset late last night when his New York Giants beat the Cincinnati Bengals in OT 27-21, in a historic game. Coach Pizz is on the rise! So far this season the Jets have not lost a home game, so we expect their defense to play hard against a powerful Miami offense, even though the Dolphins are (3-1), they have struggled a bit. But, Miami has to watch out for Wesley Walker who has 10 carries for 443 yards with one touchdown. New York has not been able to pose a strong offensive threat. Sometime two seasons ago Bruce Harper started to struggle after having a stellar career. We're not sure why he's playing the way he's playing but he's only been able to muster up 264 total yards this season on a limited basis. LeVeon Bell will have to make up for a lost offense. For the Dolphins it's been all about defense. As a team, they have 25 tackles and seven touchdowns, with Mercury Morris owning six of them. Miami All-Pro lineman, Jason Taylor has been a beast! Between Taylor and right guard Larry Little, the Dolphins have been able to remain stable. Miami started off the season great. They beat New England on New England's home turf 17-10, then they beat Buffalo 17-14, and in Week#3, they won on the road against Jacksonville 16-10 in overtime! It all looked great for Miami until Seattle came into town and beat the Dolphins in a huge upset last week 14-10, and that's where they stand today. Dolphins tailback Mercury Morris' biggest day was 74-yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The guy who's done most of the work is All-Pro Mark Duper. Duper has 10 carries for 603 yards on kick returns, and he's been the guy who's been able to launch the offense for Miami. This will be a huge game for both of these teams because it has playoff implications and the Jets have an opportunity to tie for first place in the division, something they haven't done in their history. In 2016, New York beat the Pittsburgh Steelers the AFC Wild Card Game, in a huge upset 34-31 in overtime, eventually losing to the AFC champions, New England Patriots 35-31, in the AFC Divisional Championship Game! In 2016, the Jets with Coach Pizz, won a huge metro-area New York City 32-Team Throwback Tournament! It made us so proud! THE PLAY BY PLAY: Miami Dolphins (3-1) vs New York Jets (2-2) The opening kickoff was amazing as New York's Wesley Walker ran the ball 93-yards to the Miami seven-yard line. And one play later, Jets running back Le'Veon Bell exploded around defensive tackle Marty Lyons for the Jets first touchdown of the game as the Jets took the lead 7-0, with 12:57 left to go in the half on a beautiful play by Bell! The Jets were so pumped-up and Coach Pizz was on his feet! Miami All-Pro Mark Duper had a weak return for 36-yards, and three plays later the Dolphins started moving the football as running back Mercury Morris was stopped on the first play, but the second play he had 14-yards, and then the third run he had another first down for 13-yards, bringing the ball to the New York Jets 33 yard-line with 6:56 left to go in the half! On first down Jets defensive lineman Winston Hill made a really nice tackle on Morris. On the next run, Hill came up big again with his second tackle of the game, stopping Morris at the line of scrimmage. Winston Hill when he started with the Jets he was a tackle, and Coach Pizz moved him to the line because at that point he was already at two-time All-Pro. Hill opened eyes last week at center. After two-weeks playing the Nose position, he has brought some respect back to this New York Jets front line, as Miami is forced to pass on third down. With 4:17 left to go in the half, Miami receiver Mark Clayton blazed down the left side line for a 36-yard gain, to the New York one yard line! On the next play Mercury Morris tied the game with a one-yard touchdown run 7-7, as the first half came to a close! On a spectacular kick return is second of the half, Wesley Walker opened with an amazing return. He was tapped on the sideline inbounds by Winston Hill and turned Walker towards the center of an open field for a hundred yard kick return for a touchdown! New York earned the lead 14-7, with 14:41 left to go in the game! What a sensational play! On the Dolphins next kickoff Mark Duper ran the ball back 45-yards and he was hit by hard by Jets linebacker Greg Buttle! On Miami's first down, Mercury Morris brought the ball to the 50-yard line at midfield as he was brought down by defensive tackle Marvin Powell for the Jets. On the next play, Morris exploded for a 27-yard run up the middle to bring the ball to the Jets 23-yard line with the Dolphins on the move. Morris ran for seven-yards, but was tackled again by Marvin Powell with Miami coach Billy O'C acting as a "clock-hawk" managing the time in the game with 7:53 and running. One the next play, Morris ran a 17-yard touchdown into the end-zone to tie the game at 14-14, with 7:16 remaining in the game, and the excitement began! This time on the kick return the Dolphins stopped Wesley Walker for a 36-yard return with 5:20 left to go in the game! Miami didn't seem to be able to stop them, and if the Jets win this game they are tied for first place! On first down the Dolphins blitzed and the Jets lost 16 yards on the play, pushing the ball back to the New York 29-yard line, as Jason Taylor and Larry Little dragged down Bell for no gain on the pass! As the clock came to the end, we are going into overtime! The Dolphins defense came up huge on that play! And the New York Jets win the coin toss in overtime! Holy cow! What a week of football! In a thriller to end the game the magic of the Jets watches Le'Veon Bell in overtime, run back a hundred yard kick return to win the game for the Jets! Oh My! The New York Jets (3-2), play a spectacular game to beat the defending AFC Champions, Miami Dolphins! Try to imagine the excitement in the room! In this league when Miami loses there are roars! They ruled the league for so long that it is a duty to beat them for every coach in the LIEFL! The Jets have an uphill battle to climb. Victory is great for today, but New York is on the road for two straight games, so they are at a disadvantage, and Miami (3-2), has it no better. They face New England at home next week, and then they are at Buffalo for the season finale. Wesley Walker slammed Miami with 4 carries for 229 yards with a 100-yard touchdown, and LeVeon Bell carried the ball five times for 118 yards, with two touchdowns!

Week#5 LIEFL THE COUNTDOWN: We are coming down to do-or-die in the Long Island Electric Football League Week#5, in a game between two fighting teams and coaches who want to see their team in the post-season. The NFC East is a powerhouse division and the New York Giants (2-2), have played great this season, but so have the AFC North Cincinnati Bengals (2-2)! With just two games remaining in the 2020 LIEFL season, Week#5 is where the men of the metal board, get separated from the boys! This is the time where teams have to perform on the road in order to make into the 2020 LIEFL playoff scene, where the games are fueled by charged up coaches, trash-talkers, and strategists! One of those trash-talkers needs no introduction, the 6-foot 4" Johnny Freeport-Chucker. We call him chucker because of the way he chucked the basketball when he was younger. We never changed the name! The Chucker can certainly boast about his league leading coaching record this season at (12-5), but he is playing against a coach in Coach Pizz, who has just as much experience. The New York Giants have tenacity. Coach Pizz has one of the best running games in the league, and the Giants are proof of that for sure! Giants running back Saquon Barkley has been very impressive in one of the toughest divisions in the LIEFL, with one of the toughest schedules. Barkley has rushed 27 times for 317 yards, with 5 touchdowns this season. This team has depth. Odell Beckham Jr., has added a strong component to an already powerhouse offense for New York. OBJ has carried the ball 7 times for 395yards with one touchdown! The Giants line is stacked and will match up well against Cincinnati. Their will be a great war between Bengals defensive tackle, All-Pro, Brian Blados against either David Deihl or Osi Ominyiora. This season Blados, Jacksonville's Rob Meier, and Dallas Randy White have been incredible. Blados has been voted LIEFL-1st Team All-Pro three straight season's. The Giants tackles are no pushovers. The Bengals Chad Ocho-Cinco has been very consistent this season. Both he and receiver Chris Collinsworth lead the AFC in receiving. Ocho has climber to #11 in AFC all-purpose yards this season with 11 carries for 573 total yards with three touchdowns. He has become a huge threat in the AFC and he's just as dangerous catching the ball with 164 yards with three touchdowns. Collinsworth has the same amount of yardage with two touchdowns. That makes Cincinnati lethal! Cincinnati has yet to develop a strong running game. Running back Icky Woods adds 186 yards rushing to a unpredictable Cincinnati Bengals Football team. Chucker said, "Between my Ravens and Bengals I don't know who I love more. Pizz ain't nothing. His Giants are in for a surprise today. I am slashing everyone in the league in case you have not noticed. I am living in the backfield against Big Blue today. If I can't win with my team, they will destroy playoff hopes for other teams." Pizz said, "Right, we'll see." THE PLAY BY PLAY: New York Giants (2-2) vs Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) On the opening kickoff the Cincinnati Bengals kick return specialist Chad Ocho-Cinco Johnson ran a beautiful play slicing right through the middle of the Giants core for a 53-yard return! The Bengals front line on first down plowed down the Giants as Cincinnati running back Icky Woods ran for three, and then five yards. The Giants defense stopped woods on third down as tackle David Diehl came up big, forcing a fourth down play and a passing situation with 10:05 left to go and a half. On fourth down rookie quarterback Joe Burrow pegged Chris Collinsworth for a first down as Collinsworth ran the ball 34 yards for a first down to the Giants 12-yard line, with 7:38 left to go and a half! Wow! What a professional play by Coach Chucker! The Freeport Chucker is on fire this year! On defense, Giants defensive tackle David Diehl ran right through rookie Bengals tackle Trey Hopkins for a 5-yard loss. That was Diehl's third tackle of the game. On second down, the Giants defense stopped Woods again, forcing a third down-play as Michael Strahan ran right through Icky Woods, tossing him to the ground at the 20-yard line with 3rd and 18 coming up! And on third down this coach Chucker decided to run a trap play on the Giants that they didn't expect, and even with double coverage Ocho-Cinco exploded into the end-zone from 20 yards away to score the touchdown 7-0, Cincinnati takes the lead over the Giants with 2:42 left to go in the half! Holy cow! On the opening kickoff for New York, Odell Beckham Jr., blazed down the right sideline for an amazing 100-yard kick return to tie the game at 7-7, with 1:20 left to go in the half! What an incredible run! The Giants are running on all cylinders as Coach Pizz raised his fist in the air and he pointed at The Chucker! The Bengals ran the ball back with another great return by Ocho-Cinco for 59-yards to the Giants 41-yard line. Two great coaches staring each other down as the first half comes to an end. The Giants have two home games left against Cleveland and division rival Dallas, which may determine who's going to the playoffs in that division. This is a very exciting Giants team, and Saquon Barkley hasn’t even touched the ball yet! On the Bengals first play to start the second half, David Diehl just beat down rookie Trey Hopkins, making his fourth tackle of the Giants defensive tackle. The Chucker switched things around a little by putting Blados on Diehl. It didn’t matter to Diehl who's there. That is how you make All-Pro in this league, by making big plays that are noticeable in crucial situations against the best competition! The Giants defense came up big on second down again, stopping Woods who lost eight yards, pushing Cincinnati back to the 45-yard line with 14 yards to go for a first down. The Bengals have done a tremendous job keeping the ball out of Barkley's hands on defense, but Beckham was blazing! On a third down run, Bengals running back Icky Woods ran an amazing around-the-end play 45-yards into the end-zone for a great touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Joe Burrow, with 10:05 left to go in the game. The Bengals take the lead 14-7! This coach has this Cincinnati squad prepared and outplaying a lot of teams! Wow! The crowd was silenced on the kickoff as Giants returner Odell Beckham Jr., just ran his second 100-yard touchdown of the game with a scorching run through the middle of the field! He has played amazing this season! The Giants tie the game, 14-14, with 8:57 left to go in the game has the competition heats up! On the kick return Ocho-Cinco ran the ball back 40-yards with an open field, but he was turned around by his own man, preventing him from doing more damage on the scoreboard for now. On first down, Woods ran for a first down with a dazzling 11-yard run. David Diehl almost made his fifth tackle of the game. The Giants play a very tough Cleveland Brown team next week who beat this Bengal team 14-3. Cincinnati found their momentum as Brian Blados battled hard with Diehl, who is playing a great game against him! Diehl pushing Blados back, but Blados is a technician, holding his ground in the battle for the trenches, making Diehl unable to get to Woods in the Bengals back-field. That's what makes these two guys so great. We watched everything about them as the play unfolds. On the next play Icky Woods ran a stunning 45-yard touchdown sweep around Archie Griffin who set another blocking trap against the Giants as the Bengals take the lead 21-14! Other than the Bengals opening day game against the Chargers, this has to be the most impressive game the Bengals have played. It's certainly the best game for running back Icky Woods, with 2:58 left to go in the game! What a play by the Giants kick-return team as OBJ ran back another spectacular run, this time for a 76-yard kick return! OBJ has 276 yards, with two touchdowns in the game already! He is dominating the game! Bengals lineman Anthony Munoz saved the day, tackling OBJ at the 24-yard line. The Giants will go right in the air with time running out in the game. What a play! What a thriller! On the last play the game New York tight end Mark Bavaro got wide open, scoring a 24-yard touchdown to tie the game 21-21! We are going into overtime! And the Giants win the coin toss! The Chucker watched the game-changer in front of his own two eyes, and he couldn't believe it! What a game for the Giants as they lined up in solidarity in a straight line for the kickoff! They wanted to give OBJ as much room as he possibly would need to take his time running the ball back. What a game! What a game! The anticipation built. On the kickoff history was made in this Long Island Electric Football League Wednesday Night game! In a stunning turn of events Odell Beckham Jr., ran back blazing third 100-yard touchdown as the Giants pull of a tremendous morale-boosting upset over the AFC North Cincinnati Bengals to win the game in overtime 27-21! The game left the coaches in the room speechless! This was one of the best games seen in this league in a long time! The games just keep getting better and better. Both of these teams played like champions tonight and the Chucker had a few rare comments after the game. He said, “I really have to give credit to this team. The Giants played an incredible football game and Coach Pizz is an amazing coach. I got too confident in this game and I cost my team a playoff run, but the Giants are really an incredible football team and Odell Beckham put on a historic show tonight. Nobody would have stopped him! When guys like that play like that it's over. After his second run I knew I was in trouble I am blown away.” Coach Pizz let out a huge roar for his Giants and he said, “I knew this would be a really hard game going into the game, but never in a million years did I think that Odell would put on that type of a performance tonight. He is quickly becoming a superstar in this league amongst many, many, stars. What a terrific performance. I'm so proud of my team, and now we have to get ready for a very tough team in Cleveland!” No one else touched the ball for the Giants today except for OBJ and never has anybody been louder this season watching him take his third 100-yard touchdown back which is so rare. It's like the hat-trick in hockey! Odell Beckham Jr., had 376 yards with three touchdowns tonight, tying Harold Carmichael's earlier season record of 338-yards with three touchdowns! Icky Woods had a great game, with 11 carries for 116-yards and two touchdowns, a 45-yard run, and the other was a 45-yard reception. Chad Ocho-Cinco Johnson continues to impress. He had 172-yards, with four carries and one 20-yard touchdown reception. What a game!
  9. CHARGERS TAKE AIM AT THE AFC WITH WIN OVER BUFFALO! September 22, 2020. Los Angeles, California. WEEK#5: THE LIEFL-COUNTDOWN: What a tremendous game scheduled between the Long Island Electric Football League #12 Ranked Buffalo Bills (2-2) (77-77 All-Time), against the #13 Ranked Los Angeles Chargers (3-1) (76-70 All-Time). The Chargers moved up a slot in the LIEFL-All-Time Rankings, and they are ranked #8th in Slawson's LIEFL-Power Rankings in this 2020 season. The All-Time Rankings and up-to-date records will be tabulated after the season in the All-Time Records section of the league, just before our Super Bowl Game. The Chargers have played almost flawless football. They opened up the 2020 season at Cincinnati, and lost to the Bengals 20-14 in overtime. That was a shocker! Then they went on to win three straight games, which is where Coach Eddie the "GOAT" Viggs has the Chargers right now, at the top of the AFC West Division in a battle for a division title with the Denver Broncos! Los Angeles beat Kansas City 20-14, in overtime, Carolina 21-14, and Tampa Bay at Tampa Bay 20-14, in overtime! They are on fire right now! Los Angeles won't have it easy. They may need to win one more game on the road to make the playoffs this season, but this highly anticipated game in Buffalo is critical! It is a rematch of last year's controversial Divisional Championship Game. The game clock in that game had 11 seconds left with no time out's remaining and the argument was over the final set up for Tomlinson to get one last run, but the clock ran out. Viggs accused Billy O'C of taking his time. Coach Viggs felt that he should have had one more opportunity to return the football, but Buffalo walked away a 49-48 winner, with Buffalo eventually losing to the Miami Dolphins in the AFC championship game 31-21! This game should be a thriller down to the last second! If the Chargers win this game, the momentum may lean their way. There's one more issue for the Chargers and that is the Denver Broncos, who are battling for the division title and their first playoff spot since the 1992 season when they lost to Cleveland 28-17 in the Divisional Championship Game. The Broncos are hot! And while we are at it, we cannot ignore running back LaDainian Tomlinson for the Chargers. He has rushed 30 times for 394 yards, with six touchdowns, one of them a 58-yarder! Tomlinson has totaled 887 yards with seven touchdowns this season and he currently rank's #4 in the AFC in all-purpose yards. Not much needs to be said about Coach Billy OC's Buffalo Bills. To say the least, they've had an intense season, and it's certainly not because the Buffalo Bills have gotten any worse as a team, it's because the league has gotten better, considering the Bills were LIEFL-Super Bowl Champions in 2017. The Bills have synergy! No team ever dominated the playoffs like Buffalo did in the LIEFL in 2017! The Bills play hard and they can light up the scoreboard quick! Buffalo won a big game on the road last week at Las Vegas, getting back that game behind they lost because of their loss to the Rams. The Bills beat the Jets to open a season 14-7, then they lost Miami 17-14, then they lost a very difficult home game against the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams 16-10, in overtime. Last week the Bills came from behind and beat the Raiders on their home turf 17-14, but the Chargers are no Raiders. Coach Viggs said, "This Buffalo team is a darn good football team that we are playing against today and both of these teams will have our hands full. To us, this is a playoff game. Really, the key is to go after OJ and slow him down." Coach Billy O'C said, "The Chargers are an amazing team. To stop LT is almost impossible, but the Chargers are also an all-around great team, not just their running game, but they have Winslow and Alsworth at receiver, and a line that is a real challenge to beat! Viggs has them playing on all cylinders as a Super Bowl Contender. We haven't lost a step in Buffalo, we just have one of the toughest schedule's in the league. We have to play better than our best football today in order to hitch this team into overtime. That might be the only chance we get." Buffalo's All-Pro running back, OJ Simpson, has played great this 2020 season. Simpson has carried the ball 25 times for 302 yards, with five touchdowns, not to mention his 415 yards special teams, and he has totaled 717 yards this season with six touchdowns on 32 carries. The Bills have also yet to use receiver Jay Brown full time. Brown will be the future for Buffalo. The one guarantee is, this is going to be some game. Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee and LIEFL-Countdown Analyst, Andrew Slawson of Slawson's corner said, "We couldn't have a better electric football matchup this week in these two teams, and this might even be the game of the week when all is said and done. Both of these teams are just going to go all out and may the best team win! This is a very important game to both teams because of their position in their respectful divisions. Buffalo cannot afford a loss here today because the Jets have a favorable schedule hosting Miami this weekend. A loss might mean that Buffalo gets knocked out of the playoff picture. Imagine, the division is so good that this great Buffalo team gets knocked out of the playoff picture? That is what I mean when I say there are almost 32-fiercely competitive teams in this league. Even the 0-4 teams will challenge, but the league continues it's evolution of improvement! The NFC is stacked with studs and the AFC is evolving! I love it! Both of these coaches are exceptional and it's going to be a war on the board!" THE PLAY-BY-PLAY Buffalo Bills (2-2) vs Los Angeles Chargers (3-1). Ten people showed up to watch this showdown! Who says Long Island isn't a football community? We may not be the best, but we are competitive and will battle to the finish! The opening kick-off was exciting! There are always a few game day jitters before we click that button to buzz the game in. This game has particularly jittery feelings as Coach Eddie Viggs and Coach Billy OC shook hands. Coach O'C said to Viggs, "Are you ready for this rematch?" Coach Viggs said, "I'm always ready, but the outcome might be different this time Billy O'C" . Then Coach Viggs complimented Coach Billy O'C on the beautiful job he did with Buffalo's uniforms. The Bills are noticeably different looking with the Red Buffalo on the helmet, going old school. One of the league favorites is the Los Angeles Chargers and their uniforms, going back to the yellow pants with the bolt down the side and the white helmets. As it gets colder out in New York, it brings all of us closer to electric football because there is less to do at home than the traveling some of us do in the summertime, and it's a huge commitment to bring eight guys together when they're scheduled to play. Since we all live pretty close to each other it eases the burden of having to find other people who might be on the fence about their commitment to our league. Coach Levi Vick, who is the newest coach in the league has been outstanding in terms of his commitment to his teams, the league, his dues, and his attitude. He's the right mix for our league. Before the game Simpson and Tomlinson went face to face. The field was cleaned and prepared and the running players dipped in water to ensure that they have no lint stuck to the bottom as is the ritual. Both teams and coaches have been able to move past the controversy of last season and they shook hands on it. The Chargers opened up with a beautiful electrifying 77-yard kick return by All-Pro running back and AFC Offensive Player of the Year last year, LaDainian Tomlinson, who ran the ball to the Buffalo 23-yard line! On first down, Tomlinson ran for a 20-yard first down again to the 4-yard-line as the Chargers offensive line ran right through Buffalo. Coach Viggs wasn't playing around! Tomlinson looked sharp with 12:14 left to go in the half as coach Billy OC switched things around for Buffalo moving Bruce Smith from the nose position to the right side and Marcel Dareus took over at nose tackle. It only took a few plays, but Tomlinson busted through the Buffalo defensive line for the first touchdown of the game to make the score 7-0, Chargers, with 11:22 remaining in the half! On the Bills kick-return, Bills All-Pro running back OJ Simpson was not going to be outdone. Simpson returned the ball-72 yards to the Los Angeles 28-yard line on a beautiful run with 9:52 left to go in the half. When Los Angeles lines up on defense that lethal combination of All-Pro's Ernie Ladd and Earl Faison and Russ Washington, are brutal in the middle as they shove Simpson to the ground at the 33-yard line! These two teams went head-to-head with some great match-ups! Coach Billy O'C switched the line around until he had the right adjustments as the Bills got stopped again and pushed back to the 42-yard line with 20 yards to go for the first down. Buffalo is forced to pass, and man do these Chargers look outstanding today! On third down the Chargers defense comes up tremendous, huge! They stopped Buffalo on third down and the Bills are forced to settle for a 43-yard field goal, making the score 7-3, Chargers in the lead with 4:50 left to go in the half! We think Coach Viggs has revenge on his mind and Coach Billy O'C commented during the game telling coach Viggs, "great coverage"! Buffalo started putting out on defense late in the half, dragging LaDanian Tomlinson back for a 6-yard loss with second down coming up. On second down rookie Ray Brown, caught Tomlinson in the backfield for another 5-yard loss, bringing the ball back to the Chargers own 33-yard line! Los Angeles was forced to pass as Buffalo tried to save themselves from being embarrassed with the clock running down ending the first half! To begin the second half, on third down, Los Angeles quarterback Philip Rivers threw a dart to tight end Kellen Winslow ran the ball with blazing speed down-field with an open hole, taking it 58 yards into the end zone on an electrifying play! This one lite up the crowd! The Chargers score made the score 14-3 Los Angeles, with 14:15 left in the game! A dejected Billy O'C and the Buffalo Bills watched on in disbelief as the game appeared to be getting away from Buffalo. What a play! Sometimes we think these little plastic figures are real with the way they play, almost as though they know how big the game is, and almost like they remember the loss of the 2019 Divisional Championship Game! Regardless, the Chargers are on blazing! There is no quit in Billy OC or his Bills! On the ensuing kick-return, OJ Simpson ran the ball back 43-yards. Maybe was time to watch Ray Brown get involved as a kick returner so that Simpson can focus on the running game! But whatever the case may be Coach Viggs is the master of preparation, schooling Billy O'C in this game for sure! On first down for Buffalo, Simpson exploded from the right side of the field running a 57-yard scorcher downfield to make the score 14-10, with 10:54 left in the game! What a play by Buffalo as the Bills answer the Chargers, just like that, they are back in the game! Tomlinson had a nice kick return for 43-yards as Ray Brown made his third tackle of the game, making himself very useful on defense! How about this one, on first down Tomlinson steamrolled a 57 yard run into the end-zone on the very next play for the touchdown! He won't be outdone by Simpson today! WOW! That amazing run gave the Chargers a big lead, 21-10, with 7:56 left to go in a thriller! The Bills made a mess of their kick return as Ray Brown had a shot to run into an open field, but he was turned around by his own lineman at the 35-yard line to stop the play. The Buffalo Bills looked a long way down field with 6:10 left to go in the game. Buffalo Coach Billy O'C did not expect the Chargers to put up 21 points against the rough Buffalo defense, but the Chargers have dominated today! Buffalo fought hard as Simpson ran for 20-yards on first down, bringing the ball to the Los Angeles 45-yard line with 4:43 left to go in the game, and the clock ticking fast. Simpson kept moving forward collecting another first down of 11 yards, as the Bills took the ball to the 32-yard-line. The problem for Buffalo is they were behind by 11 points, so a touchdown was not going to tie the score, and they were running out of time against a fierce defense in Los Angeles. One play later, on a beautiful run by Simpson, he scampered into the end-zone on a 32-yard run to make the score 21-17, with 28 seconds remaining in a brutal match-up! The Chargers will see the ball one more time! And on a tremendous run back for Los Angeles, LaDanian Tomlinson ran back a scorching 61-yarder as he was tackled by Buffalo linebacker, Shane Conlin as the Bills watched the clock run out of time, losing to the Los Angeles Chargers 21-17, as they get revenge on the Buffalo Bills! Coach Billy O'C said, "That was a tremendous game. The Chargers are a great team they remind me of the Detroit Lions with Dexter Bussey. Those two teams have a lot in common. Coach Viggs said, "That was a great game! I think we proved today we can play against anybody in this league, and this team might be one of the hardest working teams in the league because OJ is almost impossible to stop, but we slowed him down enough to take the edge off of a great team! Simpson played great, and once he gets hot that's it, but we showed them a different Chargers team today. We dominated I feel!" The Los Angeles Chargers advance their record to (4-1), and they remain in first place as they face Las Vegas next week in Nevada! Buffalo found their way back to the doghouse at (2-3), as they head to Denver to find out if they can get to the next level against a brutal Broncos offense. This one is going to be a nail-biter! Big numbers on the day for LaDainian Tomlinson who had four kick returns for 221 yards with a 77 yarder! Tomlinson had an additional five rushing carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns, with a 57-yard touchdown run, totaling a spectacular 302 yards in the game for Tomlinson! For Buffalo, OJ Simpson carried the ball seven times for 120 rushing-yards with two touchdowns, one of them a 57-yard touchdown run, but Simpson ended with 235 total yards on 9 carries, with two touchdowns in the game! He's a super player in this league but there are so many great players in the league. He's just having a great year and if you go to our league page you will see records dating back to 1975. The coach that coaches them was afraid that it would jinx his team if he changed the running back to Billy Sims and even the great Barry Sanders. We appreciate you my brother

Heinz Field Football Stadium Heinz Field is a football stadium located in the North Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It primarily serves as the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League, and the Pittsburgh Panthers college football team. Heinz Company, which purchased the naming rights in 2001 WEEK #5: THE COUNTDOWN: This game between the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2), and Baltimore Ravens (3-1), has divisional playoff implications, but the Steelers have the home field advantage. Baltimore is coming off of a tough loss to Washington last week 24-21, but Ravens running back Jamaal Lewis impressed last week when he ran all over a tough Washington defense with 6 carries for 147-rushing yards with three touchdowns, one of them a 55 yard touchdown! The Ravens want more than a Wild Card Game, they want respect! Leave that respect and tough-guy approach to the self-proclaimed LIEFL trash-talker and Ravens Coach, Johnny Freeport-Chucker who has to rally this team against his best friend and Steelers Coach, Paddy Brannigan, two guys who have seen lots of action of the electric football table and on the streets of New York City. Baltimore won the division last season on points scored. They were the best representative of the AFC North Division in the playoffs, losing a tough 45-34 game to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Game! Chucker said, "We need more coaches in this league, I feel. This is a battle of stubborn minds! I think I am better than all of these coaches this year. I cannot lose this game. It's time for Pittsburgh to say goodbye to their season. I've watched them in three games and they got their mouth's busted last week by the Titans! Today, I am just going to bust their lip more, or maybe an eye. (Laughing) I know their weaknesses right? Their receivers have played horrible since the end of last season. We are winning this division because we will crush Jacksonville next week, and then we are going to show Cincinnati why we deserve to be the division Champions in the final week, when we are BOSS! I have to think like Ray Lewis in this game. We are aiming for 6-1, but we will take 5-2! So, we have to come into the Steelers home turf and teach them a lesson they won't forget!" This season sways in a different direction for the Ravens and Steelers, with all the new draft picks around the league. If the Ravens win they take soul possession first place, and if the Steelers win they're in first place in the division. Right behind them is Cincinnati, which makes for a very interesting AFC North Division. We can expect Baltimore Ravens receiver and kick-return specialist, All-Pro Derrick Mason to step up his game today. Mason is having an awesome season. Mason is #7 in the AFC in all-purpose yards, and #4 in kick-returns with 10 carries with 626 yards and two 100-yard touchdown returns! On the other end of the spectrum is Pittsburgh's Jerome Bettis who has rushed for only 136 yards this season with two touchdowns, and his longest run was for 36-yards against the New York Giants in Week#1. Coach Brannigan said Bettis will be a workhorse today saying, "I have found that when the Bus gets involved early in the game, that's when we play our best electric football." It won't be easy though, the Ravens have a fierce defense, and between the defensive tackle Tony Siragusa, lineman John Ogden, and linebacker Ray Lewis, it could be a long day for Pittsburgh. The Steelers got spanked last week by Tennessee 14-0, and their last two games of the season are on the road with division rivals Cincinnati and Cleveland. THE PLAY BY PLAY: Baltimore Ravens (3-1) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) A desperately needed Lynn Swann is back! Swann opened the game with a graceful, perfect 100-yard kick return to put the Steelers on the board first 7-0, as coach Paddy Brannigan made his opening statement game-face to the Freeport-Chucker as he watched Swann in disbelief! The Ravens All-Pro top guy, Derrick Mason wasn't having it! He ran the Ravens opening kickoff back 52-yards to set up running back Jamaal Lewis in excellent field position for Baltimore. Lewis couldn't get anywhere against this Pittsburgh "Steel-Curtain" defense on the first three runs, which amounted to two yards. Then quarterback Lamar Jackson hit Ravens tailback Mark Ingram for a 21-yard pickup and a first down with Ingram running to the Steelers 29-yard line, with 7:18 left to go in the half. The Freeport-Chucker has his Ravens playing aggressive in the game, as Lewis ran for 5, 12, and 8 yards, down to the Steelers three-yard line, with 2:13 left to go in the half! The energy and hard hitting was outstanding. The Steelers stepped-up their game today playing flat last week against the Titans, but this week they realize how big of a game this. The Ravens were one yard shy of the first down as Steelers All-Pro defensive tackle John Kolb made a huge hit that lifted Lewis off his base at the two yard-line, as the first half comes to a close in a very tough battle with the Steelers defense surprising the Ravens offensive game! It was evident that Coach Brannigan prepared his Steelers well, to stop the run against Baltimore. The Ravens were not having the running week that they had last week against Washington. Pittsburgh's offense completely changed with Lynn Swann back in action. Swann gave Jerome Bettis the exact yards that he needed to be effective. On third down, Jamal Lewis ran in for the score from two-yards away to tie the game 7-7, with 14:48 left to go in the game! Lewis is so tough, he literally acted like a linemen running the ball bashing through the line, even knocking his own player to the turf as well as running over Pittsburgh's Jerome Bettis! On the kickoff, Swann ran a beautiful 66-yard kick-return, giving this Steelers terrific field position at the 34-yard line Baltimore. The Pittsburgh Steelers frontline and the Bus took over! On the first run, after being spun around several times by his own lineman, Bettis busted free around the left side of the field for a 34-yard touchdown run to put the Steelers ahead 14-7, in this amazing division rivalry, with 10:49 remaining in the game! Both coaches looked anxious. Not so fast though! Derrick Mason silenced the crowd with a hundred-yard touchdown return to tie the game at 14-14! The room erupted! What a play by Mason with 9:41 left to go in the game! On the ensuing kickoff, Lynn Swann revived his career with a 60-yard beautiful run, setting up great field position again for the Steelers, with 8:28 left to go in the game! Swann had his best day of the year with well over 200 yards in kick-returns! He's got a few things he's got to work on, but he's playing fantastic as he gives Pittsburgh the clout that they need. The Ravens frontline played a brutal hard-nosed game as the defense tackles Bettis in the backfield for 15-yard loss, forcing a third down situation. The Steelers were forced to kick on fourth down as a 40-yard field-goal straight through the middle of the upright to put Pittsburgh ahead, with the score 17-14, with 1:38 left to go in the game! On the last kickoff of regulation time for the Baltimore Ravens, they placed the ball in the grip of one of the most dangerous player's in the Long Island Electric Football League, Derrick Mason! It was time for Johnny Freeport-Chucker to put his money where his mouth is. Chucker had a very focused look on his face and the Steelers were not taking any chances on the kickoff with Mason at the helm. They lined up every player straight across the 40 yard-line to attempt seal off any possible holes that Mason could run through, as time was running out on Baltimore. Mason flew back on the return 42 yards to set up the game tying field-goal with time running out in regulation. Baltimore decided not to risk one more play, and instead, they kicked a field-goal to tie the game 17-17, as the clock ran out and the game went into overtime! What a super game! Pittsburgh couldn't get luck on their side. The Ravens won the overtime coin toss! WOW! And the Ravens won the ball back in overtime as the Chucker jumped in the air by winning the coin toss in what might be a heartbreaker for the Steelers! This is great electric football folks! It's what every league should experience when the talent puts it all on the line! In overtime Mason took the ball back 42-yards. One play later, Jamal Lewis exploded for a 37 yard run, bringing the ball to the Steelers 21-yard line. Coach Brannigan had such a look of dejection on his face as the Steelers lose on a field-goal to the Baltimore Ravens 20-17! This one was such a tough loss to swallow. Brannigan said, "We had it! We were ahead and should have won, but the mountain to climb now is very tall." The Chucker said, "Yeah, Baby! My teams are rocking. I keep telling you guys, none of these coaches are safe." The intensity in the league is on the rise! Lots of positive things came out of the game for the Steelers. Swann played great, the offense showed up, and the defense played well in a game which could have gone either way! The Baltimore Ravens (4-1) played a great game. Derrick Mason led the way with 235 yards and a 100-yard touchdown for the Ravens! Two of the best Long Island Electric Football League team's with a history take the field today in Coach Eddie Viggs Washington Football Team (3-1) vs rookie Coach Levi Vick's Dallas Cowboys (2-2)! This will be a close game with both teams featuring some serious caliber players in Washington's LIEFL-Player of the Week last week, Tony Green. Green had 332 yards last week with two touchdowns in Washington's beating of the undefeated Baltimore Ravens, one of the best defensive teams in the AFC! The Cowboys have played outstanding in the past two weeks, beating both Seattle and Cleveland. Just as Washington has Tony Green, Dallas has the #5 rusher in the LIEFL-NFC, Emmitt Smith. Smith has carried the ball 22 times for 290 yards rushing, with five touchdowns behind a huge Dallas front line! Terrell Owens is dangerous too! He can change a game fast. Owens has 659 total yards, with three 100-yard touchdown returns! Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee and Sports Historian Andrew Slawson, our Analyst said, "Dallas needs to get the jump early on Washington to win this game. But, Dallas plays sporadic football, and that is because the coach crumbles under pressure. He is a rookie getting schooled. Yeah, he's been playing a long time, but not against these big boys. These coaches bragged about his play in his league he came from, but here, he has been humbled. I did talk to him one on one and told him it's nothing personal. It's just that maybe he has the jitters and is putting too much pressure on himself. Nice guy, but can't play in this league. The truth hurts!" Vick was asked about the nervousness, the jitters, and the other league. He said, "When I lived in Texas I played in a really nice league, the guys were great competitors, but seriously, these guys here match them and are even better. They know football. THE PLAY-BY-PLAY: Washington Football Team(3-1) vs. Dallas Cowboys (2-2) The excitement for the kick-off between these two teams was looming in the room with a full house to support Levi Vick, win or lose as we enjoy the last day of the weekend with some exciting games with great Brothers! On the opening kickoff Terrell Owens took a 43-yard return back for Dallas. The Cowboys went to work. Emmitt Smith peaked through a few holes, but never made it out of them on his first two runs as the Washington defense came up big with Charlie Taylor tackling Smith in the backfield for a 3-yard loss forcing a third down for the Cowboys! Dallas quarterback Zach Prescott hit Terrell Owens wide open for a nice 39-yard first down, bringing the ball to the Washington 23-yard line, with 9:20 left to go in the half! Beautiful job by coach Levi Vick executing that play! He really knows his Cowboys! Washington's defense played Dallas very tough as they forced another third down with four yards to go for the first down! On third down Michael Irving broke free from Washington's Art Monk to score the Cowboys first touchdown of the game 7-0 Dallas, with 4:19 left to go in the half! Dallas plays great at home! On the kick return Tony Green got hit by Chris Hanberger and Green got spun around at the 35-yard line, stopping the play right there as Washington stared 65-yards down field at the end-zone, with 2:55 left to go in the half. Washington running back Tony Green took his first run for a 13-yard gain and a Washington first down! On second down Green headed toward the sideline and he ran out of bounds for a loss of three as the first half came to a close. To start the second half, Green ran a trail-blazer around the right end for 17-yards with Randy White chasing him! White made a great tackle, his second tackle of the game! Washington's frontline looks pretty potent! After a 5-yard pickup Larry Allen, Leon Lett, and Ed "Too-Tall" Jones pushed Washington and Green back for a 9 yard loss on the play as Randy White made his third tackle of the game. What a year White is having with 11 minutes left to go in the game! On the next play, quarterback Dwayne Haskins tossed a beautiful pass to the athletic speedster Art Monk who took a spectacular 44-yard touchdown into the end zone crossing to the center of the field and into the end-zone for the touchdown 7-7, tie game with 8:32 left to go in the game! Dallas did a great job holding back Tony Green. Washington couldn't say the same as on the very next play Terrell Owens distanced the game with an explosive hundred-yard kick return into the end-zone for a Dallas Cowboy touchdown making the score 14-7 Dallas, with 6:54 remaining in the game! What an electrifying play by Owens and the Cowboys! One play later Tony Green took the ball back 57-yards and was crushed by Larry Allen at the Dallas 43-yard line! Beautiful run by Green! The Cowboys continued to come up big as Terrell Owens made a huge play on Green, who was just about to break away for a touchdown, stopping him at the 47-yard line of Washington, forcing a third down play with 2:32 remaining in the game, with time running out! Washington failed to execute the first down on a third down play, and they are forced to go for it on fourth down with 36 seconds left to go in the game! Washington decided to kick the field-goal to earn the points in the event that points become a tiebreaker in the division. The Dallas Cowboys come up big! They win the game 14-10 in a spectacular finish for Levi Vick and his Cowboys! Vick played a perfect game as Dallas (3-2), are now tied with Washington(3-2), for second place! The Philadelphia Eagles move into sole possession of first place! The Cowboys won there 84th game in the Long Island Electric Football League today! The Dallas Cowboys has a chance to get to the playoffs if VicK plays his cards right, but it won't be easy in the NFC-East, and never count Coach Viggs out! Viggs said, "Coach Vick's Cowboys played an awesome game. We'll be back strong!" Vick was very happy, winning his sixth game! Vick said, "I just have to keep working hard. I am a blue-collar guy, so hard work is what I am about." Really, it was Terrell Owens's play that won the game for the Cowboys, and Dallas did a great job holding Washington running back Tony Green to 127 total yards without a touchdown! For the Cowboys Terrell Owens had 3 carries for a total of 188-yards, with a hundred yard touchdown return! Dallas plays the winless San Francisco 49ers in Week#6 in Dallas! Washington faces Seattle at home! What a week it will be.

Ford Field Football Stadium Ford Field is a domed American football stadium located in Downtown Detroit. It primarily serves as the home of the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, as well as the annual Quick Lane Bowl college football bowl game, state championship football games for the MHSAA, the MHSAA State Wrestling Championships, and the MCBA Marching Band State Finals, among other events. The regular seating capacity is approximately 65,000, though it is expandable up to 70,000 for football and 80,000 for basketball. WEEK#5 LIEFL-COUNTDOWN: Week#5 of this year's exciting Long Island Electric Football League is taking on it's own personality as rookie Coach Levi Vick takes on the smoking-hot Detroit Lions of trash-talker Johnny Freeport-Chucker in the first game of the week. The Lions only loss so far was to the 2020, undefeated LIEFL #1 Ranked Green Bay Packers who beat Detroit 14-7, in Week #2. But other than that loss, the impressive Lions have played near flawless football, beating Chicago in their home opener 24-21 in OT, Arizona 20-14, in OT on the road, and New Orleans, 21-14! With Detroit running back Dexter Bussy leading the LIEFL in total yards at a record pace, Bussy has 31 carries for 1,114 yards, with ten touchdowns! Bussy is on pace for a 2,000 yard season. He would be only the second player ever in that category in a seven-game season. That will be a huge challenge for the (1-3) Houston Texans to compete against on the road. Coach Chucker said, "It's too early to say how my Lions will do, but all of these coaches better watch their backs because they are far from safe on the field. I feel on-fire with this team, and if we get you in a back alley, it's over! We are here to mix-it up and beat any team who challenges us. This team has black-magic! We aren't great, but Bussy is! We aren't trying to stop Ron Dayne, Ron Dayne has to keep up with Bussy, how's that? Any coach playing electric football would love this guy on their team, trust me. I m coming after Vick and his Texans to give them his 14th coaching loss!" Houston Coach Vick, had no comment for the 6-foot 4" Chucker before the game. The Lions will not stop Houston running back Ron Dayne either, Dayne is explosive! He has 38 carries for 830 total yards, with four touchdowns, two of them 100-yard kick returns! If not for such a challenging schedule, the Texans might be in a different spot. THE PLAY-BY-PLAY Houston Texans (1-3) vs Detroit Lions (3-1) Dexter Bussy launched the Lions offensive weapons early, right out of the gate with a sizzling, beautiful 100-yard touchdown run, his 11th of the 2020 season, and 5th 100-yard touchdown! WOW! Bussy is tearing up the League this year! It's not even about the statistics anymore for Bussy, it is about the legacy of who will be the lucky person to inherit this league when we are finished! These records dating back to 1972 in this league are by far one of the greatest components to the LIEFL! The Lions jump in front with the lead over the Texans 7-0, with 14:20 left in the half! On the Texans opening kick return, All-Pro running back Ron Dayne buzzed downfield for a 47-yard beauty! On first down, Dayne ran the ball through the left side of the Houston line for a 21-yard pickup, bringing the ball to the Detroit 33-yard line for the first down! Dayne is a great player, but his Texans need work. Coach Vick looked a little stunned from the Bussy run. It seems no matter how much opponents prepare for Bussy, he holds the magic with his graceful ability! On the next Texan play, the Detroit defense stopped Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson wing pass attempt and the Texans are forced to kick a field-goal from 40-yards away to make the score 7-3 Lions, with 6:35 left to go in the half! The anticipation for Bussy's next kick-return brought a look of anxiety on Texan Coach Levi Vick's face. Bussy ran the ball right up the middle of the Houston belly, for a 50-yard kick return. On the Lions first run, the Texans defense marched right through the offense of the Lions for a 20-yard loss on first two downs! They answered Bussy's play! Bussy earned 10-yards back, bringing the ball to the Lions 40-yard-line with 20 yards to go for the first down. That was a steep challenge for Detroit, but with Detroit's dangerous passing team with third down coming up with 2:34 left to go in the half, the Lions have the talent. And on third down All-Pro receiver, Calvin Johnson freed-up by outstepping the Texan defender for a huge first down on a 20-yard pickup! There is no messing with these Lions as the first half came to a close! With the first down from Johnson, Detroit initiated a ground attack in the second half. Dexter Bussy had a beautiful run for 15-yards, taking the ball to the Houston Texans 25-yard line! We could feel the vibration change in the game has Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker's Detroit Lions took control of the football with Dexter Bussey running for another 6, and 9 yard runs, taking the ball to the 10-yard line of the Texans! The Lions threatened to score their second touchdown of the game as the Texans tried to figure out Bussy. And on second down for the Lions, Bussy, instead of running left, he ran right into the end-zone from 8 yards out, to make the score 14-3, with 9:02 left to go in the game. Detroit was absolutely on fire playing playoff-caliber football! Dexter Bussey scored his league-leading 12th touchdown of the season! On the Texans kick-return, Ron Dayne earned 40 yards. Dayne was stopped on his first two runs losing nine yards, and the Texans were pushed back to their own 31-yard line on third down as Dayne was tackled in the backfield by Herman Moore who came up with a huge defensive play for the Lions! On a huge play, Houston's Andre Johnson caught a beautiful pass from quarterback pass DeShaun Watson for a big 35-yard first down to the Detroit 34-yard line, with less than three minutes left to go in the game! On a beautiful passing sweep by the Texans, Dayne caught a nice 35-yard touchdown pass from Watson to bring the score to 14-10, Detroit in the lead, with 1:32 on the game the clock, which was winding down fast! On Detroit's last chance to score, Bussy just missed his second hundred yard touchdown of the game as he's tackled by Houston defensive tackle Brandon Frye, after gaining 84 yards on the kick return! Detroit set-up for a quick field-goal, winning the game, 17-10! What a beautiful victory for the Detroit Lions and Coach Johnny Chucker! The Lions go to (4-1), as they head to Tennessee to face the Titans! Detroit's Dexter Bussy again comes up huge for the Lions! He had 10 carries for an amazing 274-yards with two touchdowns, one of them for 100-yards, his 5th of the season, giving the star 1,383 total yards with 12 touchdowns for the season! Coach Chucker said, "We want the Titans!" It seems the Lions are improving and constantly trying to find ways to win at home and on the road! The Texans have a rough road ahead and they will need some big-time drafts in the next draft so that they can allow Ron Dayne to be Ron Dayne! Houston is (1-4), and their hopes to advance in their division were just crushed for Coach Levi Vick. Dayne finished with 137 total yards with a 35-yard touchdown catch. Houston will play their last two games at home against division rivals, Indianapolis and Tennessee to complete the season!
