  1. (2-3) (3-2) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (2-3) COACH: LEVI VICK (7-13) Patriots head coach Levi Vick is safe for now. Vick was the center of controversy at the beginning of the season when the rookie coach lost his first nine games in this league after playing super in the Nassau County League, just 16 miles away. The New England Patriots have had a rocky 2020 season, but they had a tough schedule. The shinning star in the line-up is LIEFL-All-Pro, Rob Gronkowski. Gronk has 16 carries for 910 yards with two touchdowns. Filling the trenches for New England is John Hannah, who's also having a terrific year for the Patriots, almost single-handedly keeping them in games. Looks like New England will be looking for a few linemen and linebackers in the off season, and they will be getting updated uniforms as well for the start of next year! Running back Lawrence Maroney may be in his last season for the Patriots. Coach Vick is making this team his own. Maroney has had a challenging season behind an under-performing line with only 182 yards and three touchdowns. It's not like the LIEFL 70's, when Sam "BAM" Cunningham bested defenders in this league. The Patriots are coming off a really tough loss to Arizona who beat them on their home turf, 21-14. In WEEK#1, Miami also beat the Patriots on their home turf, 17-10. This is a must win situation for the Patriots in order stay alive for a playoff spot, but for the division rival Miami Dolphins, they could be in sole possession of first place with a victory here today. Miami's last home game is on the road at Buffalo against a very angry Buffalo Bills team. Coach Billy O'C is always ready for the big game. He said, "I have been in games like this before, but on the opposite end at my opponents home field. Being at home today, we have to come out here and fight the battle! Levi is a very good coach, and he is going to have to stop Morris today who is due for a big game. Today has to be our day because if my guys play like they did the last two weeks, it will be very difficult to win a division title." Miami Dolphins (3-2) Coach: Billy O'C (15-8) The Miami Dolphins are the winningest team in the Long Island Electric football League, with six super bowl trophies, with 143 victories, for Coach Billy oc. Last year they were AFC Champions after losing 18 games in three seasons. The Dolphins are coming off of a very difficult 14-10 loss to the brutal Seattle Seahawks of the NFC West, last year's winningest division in the LIEFL! Then Miami lost to the Jets the following week 20-14, in overtime. Miami has struggled. Running back Mercury Morris put up a solid 84 yard performance rushing, with two touchdowns against New York, but the Dolphins really needed to excel was in special teams, but opponents are on to Super Duper. Mark Duper has had just an average year after exploding for 520 yards in last year's Super Bowl against the Rams which Miami lost 44-41 in OT. Opponents have watched Duper very carefully, and they figured out his running patterns. It similar to opponents figuring out league sensation Harold Carmichael of the Philadelphia Eagles. The guy who everybody's talking about is Jason Taylor. Taylor is the spark in the Dolphins defense. He is on fire, exploding off the line for eight tackles coming into this game. He not only was an All-Pro last year but he looks like he's in the running for the best Lineman award this year. Coaches have noticed! The Dolphins need to find the spark plug in today's game with lots to prove still, especially if they think they can take on the Chargers in the playoffs, or the Colts, who have both dominated the AFC! DOLPHINS MORRIS AND TAYLOR DOMINATE PATRIOTS! PLAY BY PLAY:NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AT MIAMI DOLPHINS Miami Florida, October 29, 2020. On the opening kickoff Miami's Mark Duper returned the ball around the right side of the field for a 56-yard kick return. After running two plays for eight total yards, Mercury Morris plowed his way through the New England front line with All-Pro Jason Taylor leading the way opening a hole for a huge 36-yard Miami touchdown as the Dolphins take the lead 7-0, with 8:54 left to go in the half! Patriots return specialist Rob Gronkowski, returned a 38-yard kick return and then on first down Laurence Maroney was crushed by Miami All-Pro lineman Larry Little, for a 5-yard loss at the New England 33 yard line. On second down AJ Duhe made a fantastic tackle for another 5-yard loss to the 27-yard line of New England with third down approaching. On third down it was all Miami as Tom Brady took a quarterback sneak to the 39-yard line for a 12-yard pickup, but short of the first down by 8 yards. New England kicked a beautiful 61-yard field goal to make the score 7-3, with 3:50 left to go in the half! And on the return kickoff Miami's Mark Duper exploded for a gorgeous, blazing 100-yard kick return to make the score 14-3 Miami, with 2:19 left to go in the half! What a run by Duper! New England stormed right back with a 66-yard kick return by the Rob Gronkowski to the Miami 39-yard line as the first half came to a close. There was great excitement and energy! Miami completely shut down the running game of New England and on the first two runs of the second half, the Patriots found big trouble on third down at the Miami 42. They needed 20 yards to go for the first down. Quarterback Tom Brady lit up the scoreboard with a great pass to All-Pro Kevin Faulk, who took it 42 yards into the end zone for the touchdown to make the score 14-10, with 11:12 left to go in the game! On the ensuing kick return for Miami, Mark Duper ran out of bounds so that the Dolphins could work the clock. They put the ball in the hands of Mercury Morris. Morris had three beautiful runs in a row with Jason Taylor just blasting through the Patriots defensive line for a 9, and then five yards, bringing the ball to the 42 of New England on 2nd down, with 5:39 remaining in the game as Miami coach, Billy O'C kills the clock! Jason Taylor was relentless as he pushed Morris through for eight more yards, and then 14 yards for another first down to the New England 19-yard line, with 2:54 left to go in the game with the clock running. And the Dolphins ran out of time, but managed to kick an 18-yard field goal to beat the New England Patriots (2-4), 17-10, as Miami take's soul possession of first place in the AFC East! Miami's Mercury Morris ran the ball 10 times for 98 yards with a 36-yard touchdown. Super Duper had three carries for 193 yards, with 100 yard kick return as the Dolphins trounced New England by the exact same score as their first encounter in week one!
  2. (3-2) (3-2) LONG ISLAND EFL MAIN LEAGUE PAGE https://forum.tudorgames.com/files/category/39-2020-long-island-efl-standings-coaches-current-rankings-schedule-2019-leaders-and-liefl-all-time-wins-loss-records/ (3-2) Seattle Seahawks Coach: Paddy Brannigan (11-12) The Seattle Seahawks might be one of the nicest hidden gems who have prospered from the draft in the Long Island Electric Football League this season. Coach Paddy Brannigan has them motivated and climbing the league ladder with respect by their opponents. Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch has been explosive! He ranks #3 in the NFC in rushing with 27 carries for 421 yards with six touchdowns, and he has 1008 total yards with 9 total touchdowns, which is 6th best in the NFC all-purpose yards category! Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks defense has played beyond even their capabilities with two consecutive weeks of massive upsets, beating the AFC Champion, Miami Dolphins 14-10, two weeks ago, and last week they defeated the high-octane Philadelphia Eagles, 21-20, sending the league into a spin! That opened eyes because to beat those two teams on their home turf is something special! Nobody knows where the Seahawks will land up, but you can count a war here today in Washington. It will be no easy task stopping Tony Green. Green and the Redskins have had a decent year as they battle for an NFC East playoff spot. Seattle coach Paddy Brannigan said, "My team is well prepared for this game in Washington. We've been on the road for two weeks and we've come closer together as a team. Since the league in October slows up a little bit because of the fast pace, I'm not going to look too far ahead, but I think my team will be in the playoffs. This team for years was on the losing end when I was younger, and I have never given up on them since I have been their coach in the 70's! In the last five or six years using the seven game season format and the draft, I've been able to make some great choices and fix a lot of things that were broken about this team. In the 70s and 80s we didn't have such a great running game, but in that first big draft I was able to create Lynch and he's now one of the most premier elite players in the league." Against a great Miami defense, Lynch had 134 yards with a touchdown, and then last week he had 274 yards with two touchdowns. He's as good as any back in the league and he's got a front line who's getting the job done. Seattle marches into Washington with confidence and swagger! Washington Football Team (3-2) Coach Eddie Viggs (14-8) The big question is can the Redskins stop Lynch? They seem to be able to tame even the best teams. The Hawks face stellar Washington running back Tony Green, and an intense offensive line today. While Green has not put up big numbers in the running game with 32 carries for 179 yards, with three touchdowns, he has been explosive on special teams, where he has done most of his damage! He is #8 in the NFC in all-purpose yards with 951 yards, and 750 of those yards are on kick returns! Washington beat Philadelphia 13-10, on opening day, then they lost to Arizona 17-14, beat Cleveland 10-0, beat a tough Ravens team 24-21, and then they lost to division rival Dallas 14-10 last week, which gave the Cowboys the advantage in a four-way tie in the NFC East. Coach Viggs is the master of preparation as you know by reading these articles. He refuses to think negative about his team's chances today. He said, "This Seattle team is the best I have seen in a long time. You can't just beat Miami and Philly back to back not not get some attention. I got to watch the Eagles game, and what makes me nervous is #24 Marshawn Lynch. It's crazy how he lives up to the NFL's version of Lynch. It's like he came out of nowhere and carried this team to where they are. Kudos to Brannigan. It will not be an easy game. In fact, no game is easy in this league, and we have to be playing on all cylinders today to win so I need to think with a clear mind and not get stuck in the hype. Tony Green has to have a big day, but I am thinking that Taylor and Monk will be a little more involved as well. I will save the Diesel (Riggins) if I need short yardage. We need to win this game to stay in the hunt." THE PLAY BY PLAY:SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (3-2) vs WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM (3-2) WASHINGTON STOPS RED-HOT SEAHAWKS! October 27, 2020. Washington DC. The opening kickoff was exciting as Coach Viggs played his traditional "Hail to the Redskins" before the opening kickoff as he did his traditional march regardless of the new Washington Football name! This tradition with this team has gone on since 1984 for Washington after winning Long Island Electric Football League Super Bowl VII in 1984, beating Miami in overtime, 34-31! With the fight song winding down, Washington's Tony Green took it back 70-yards, helping himself to the Seattle 30-yard line. In one play, Green ran around the left side of the Seattle Seahawks defense and into the end zone to make the score 7-0. Washington storms ahead with the lead! Wow! On the Seahawks first kick, Marshawn Lynch took it back 80-yards until he was tackled by Dexter Manley who stopped Lynch from scoring a 100 yard touchdown! And boy, did this Washington defense go after Lynch as he was turned back for a 15-yard loss on first down with 9:39 left to go in the half. After being stuffed by the Washington football team's defense on first and second down, the Seahawks went to the air and Steve Largent picked up 17 yards, bringing the ball to the Washington 15-yard line, forcing a fourth down running play. Washington's Dave Butz put a stop to Lynch for an 8-yard loss as Washington stopped the red hot Seahawks on fourth down! Washington takes over at their own 23-yard line. With 3:46 left to go in the half, Dave Butz, who was having an enormous game blocking and on defense, opened a hole for Tony Green on first down. Green was stopped on the next two plays, forcing a third down pass play for Washington. On third down, Charlie Taylor took the ball 45 yards to the Seahawk 29-yard line on a great pass by quarterback Dwayne Haskins to set up a first down on a beautiful play executed by the Washington Football Team! Coach Viggs came prepared as his team took charge by shutting down a very tough Seahawks team with 11:20 left to go in the game! Coach Viggs ran the clock down as Washington moved forward with the 26-yard field goal to make this score 10-0 with 5:59 left to go in the game! What a surprise this game has been by the ferocious Washington Football Team. Washington dominating on the line with Seattle collapsing on offense. The Seahawks kick return was taken back by Lynch 36 yards, and on first down quarterback Russell Wilson connected on a beautiful pass to Joey Galloway who broke free for scorching 64-yard touchdown pass to make the score 10-7, with 1:30 left to go in the game, Washington in the lead! As the clock wound down with just seconds left Washington kicked the field goal to win the game 13-7. Seattle's streak is snapped and the Redskins win their fourth game of the season putting them in great position for the playoff hunt as Seattle after two amazing weeks looses their third game of the season. Washington played tremendous, holding Marshawn Lynch to two kick returns, shutting down the Seattle's offensive running game. After the game Coach Brannigan said, "Coach Viggs is one of the best of the best, and I just have to give him credit for playing a great game against my team who was red hot. We just couldn't seem to get anything going because they controlled the football and I don't think Washington should be underestimated. They're very good football team. They have been one team in this league that has always been a wedge in everybody's side and they remind me of the Rams, they play great together!" Washington (4-2), plays Philadelphia on the road next week to battle for the division title!
  3. (4-1) (2-3) DETROIT LIONS (4-1) Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker (12-7) This WEEK#6 Long Island Electric Football League game between the NFC North Detroit Lions (4-1), and the AFC South Tennessee Titans (2-3) is a tremendous matchup for several reasons. Detroit comes to the board always ready, with one of the best running backs in the game Dexter Bussey. Bussey has 25 carries for 274 yards with six touchdowns, a 70-yard touchdown catch, and five 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns this season. Bussey is #3 in the LIEFL in all-purpose yards. He has totaled 1044 yards in kick returns and this guy has totaled 41 carries 1388 yards with 12 touchdowns this season against some pretty hefty competition! That's not to mention that he is backed up by two of the best receivers in the league, in three-time All-Pro, Herman Moore and two-time All-Pro, Calvin Johnson. One thing is certain about Detroit, they have been roaring! They began to season with fireworks as Bussey set an LIEFL-NFL record with 499 yards and five touchdowns in the opening day game versus Chicago, which the Lions won 34-28 in overtime. Then the Lions lost the Green Bay 14-7 in week two, beat Arizona in week three 20-14, beat New Orleans in week four 21-14, and last week they beat the Houston Texans 17-10, for their 70th franchise win! The Lions have had a terrific season! It is not impossible for the Lions to make it to another NFC Championship Game because the Chucker is unpredictable!" Detroit has done it all for coach Johnny Freeport Chucker, and he's proud to brag about it. He's the showboat of the league and the biggest trash talker in town, standing 6-4' 230 pounds. He said, "I'm not saying much about today's game. I have to stay focused and get this team ready for war. I'm going to take it one second at a time and just let Dexter magic, and do his thing. He would be a star in any league, just put a line in front of him and we will score points. I am praying his player base lasts for the life of the league. I take immaculate care of my players. That is the key to their longevity," the retired police detective said. He continued, "It's like Bussey's got a mind of his own, and I know one thing, we're coming to play today. It's starting to get a little cooler in New York and the football feeling is here. Somehow we've managed to win four games against some great competition, so I look very much forward to this game today because the Titans are unpredictable and a big challenge for us." (2-3) Coach: Kevin "Mac" Maloney And speaking of those Titans, they too have had a very good season, although they got beat up by the Indianapolis Colts their division rival last week, 14-3. The Titans began their season with a loss to Denver 24-21, then they beat Jacksonville in WEEK#2, 10-3, and in WEEK#3, they lost to Minnesota 17-14, but they recovered in WEEK#5, by humiliating the Pittsburgh Steelers 14-0. The Titans in their season finale will face division rival Houston next week. One shining Star for this team has been their offense. They've improved with Eddie George rushing for 256 yards with four touchdowns this season. And All-Pro Brandon Jones has played very well with Eron Kinny on the other side of the field, who has been spectacular with 375 yards and three touchdowns, including a hundred yard kick return period Bruce Matthews has anchored the line for the Titans . The one problem for Tennessee is you never know which team is going to show up. They seem to play awesome against the tougher teams in the league, but lose to the struggling ones. Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner said, "This is going to be a hard fought game for Detroit, but the Titans defense is a mysterious one in the league. They seem to appear and reappear in flashes. An example of this is beating up a decent Steelers team, 14-0! They just make big plays when they need to, and that is what this Lions coach needs, an awakening by a tough defense, but with Bussey, we can expect an explosive game as always! The Freeport-Chucker has one of the best weapons in the league in Bussey, and he throws that smokescreen out there with his trash-talking, but when the game starts, especially with these Lions, they work on their own. Bussey might be having one of his best ever seasons this year. I 've been impressed with the consistency of Detroit and the loudmouth coach as well. To win four games is hard to do in a league that keeps getting better, and just when you thought you built your team the way you wanted, the ever-changing talent in the league forces the coaches to keep up to speed with the changes. The teams they beat last year are beating them up this year. The founders of the league have done an amazing job growing the league and making it fiercely competitive. Like the NFL, each team has a life of their own. A 32-team league is an incredible amount of work to run, and we do it as well as anyone in the country because we are organized!" Play By Play TITANS EDGE LIONS 17-14 IN HUNT FOR A SHOT AT PLAYOFFS! On the opening kickoff for Tennessee, return specialist, Brandon Jones ran the ball back 35-yards. It's crazy how anytime Dexter Bussey plays everybody in this league shows up to watch. We should sell tickets! There is a great energy in this game. It's definitely felt that the Lions and Titans are contenders this year. On the first down the Titans lost 17-yards and they're going to have to come up with something better. They'll try one more run. The Lions have been very diversified on offense and defense this year and they've improved the defense quite a bit. On second down, Tennessee running back, Eddie George gained 8 yards towards the line of scrimmage after the loss, but it still forced a third down as George was hit hard by Titans tackle Zack Pillar! The Lions brought the ball back to their own 27-yard line where they needed a good 19-yards for a first down with 10:51 left to go in the half ! On a huge down play, Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill tossed the ball to Lorenzo Neal who took it 27 yards for the first down, on a beautifully executed play by the Titans to the Detroit 47-yard line with 7:48 remaining in the half. Tennessee tried to run on first down and they were brought back 13-yard line by the Detroit defense with 6:15 left to go in the half. On second down, Eddie George picked up five yards, forcing a third down pass play once again for the Titans with 4:39 left to go in the half. The Detroit Lions defense played very well on all cylinders. On third down, Eron Kinney broke free at the 43-yard line and took it across field for the game's first touchdown with 2:54 remaining in the half as the Titans take the lead, 7-0! Absolutely unbelievable! Detroit's All-Pro running back, Dexter Bussey ran a scorching 100 yard kick return back for a touchdown on the Lions first possession to tie the score 7-7, with 1:11 left to go in the half! Wow! These coaches love Bussey's heart! If the Titans could hold Bussey back from touching the ball, they have a chance. To begin the second half the Lions shut down the first two running plays by Eddie George and the Titans as they lost a good 13-yards, pushed back to the 44-yard line from the 32 yard line, forcing a third downplay for Tennessee with 13:05 left to go in the game. On third down, Tannenhill passed to George over the right side of the field as George took it down field 44-yards into the end zone to put the Titans ahead 14-7, with 11:35 left to go in the game! What a play! On the kick return for Detroit, Bussey ran it back 27 yards and was hit hard by Eron Kinney! On first down, Bussey went to work with a 19-yard first down run, with 8:22 left to go in the game. After the set-up, with the clock running down to 5:06 remaining in the game, Bussey exploded for a 43-yard first down run to the five yard line of the Tennessee Titans! And from 5 yards out on the very next play, Bussey ran his seconf touchdown of the game into a end zone with no one there to tackle him. Detroit tied at 14-14, with 3:58 left to go in the game and time running out perfectly for Coach Maloney's Titans to take full advantage of the opportunity! As the clock ran down and out of time, Brandon Jones took it back 51 yards on the Titans last kick return to the 49-yard line of the Lions. On first down, Jones again, came up big with a 21-yard first down bringing the ball to the 27-yard line of Detroit where the game ended on a dramatic field goal by Tennessee, who won the game 17-14, handing Detroit and the Freeport-Chucker's Lions their second loss of the season! What a game! The Detroit Lions (4-2) Dexter Bussey had 200 yards total with 127 yards in kick returns, with his 6th 100-yard touchdown of the game, plus he had 73 yards rushing 0n four carries with a five yard touchdown run, giving Bussey touchdown's 13 and 14, for the season, and a total 1588 yards! Detroit plays Minnesota at Detroit next week in the season finale! The Tennessee Titans are now (3-3), and very much in the playoff hunt in the AFC! Brandon Jones was spectacular, as was Eron Kinney, two stars in this league. Jones had three kick returns which were pivotal in the game, as the speedster had 154 yards! Kinney had a 43-yard touchdown catch, and Eddie George added a 44-yard touchdown catch from Tannehill as the Titans will have a major battle at Houston next week to compete for their parting shot at a playoff attempt!
  4. (3-2) (5-0) MAIN PAGE FOR LIEFL:https://forum.tudorgames.com/files/category/39-2020-long-island-efl-standings-coaches-current-rankings-schedule-2019-leaders-and-liefl-all-time-wins-loss-records/ CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-2) COACH MATT ZOO-YORK MCQUEEN (8-12) The Panthers joined the NFL in 1995 and were instantly competitive. Carolina finished its inaugural season with a 7-9 record to set a new NFL record for wins by an expansion team. The following season, the Panthers claimed a division title and advanced to the conference title game. Then, in 2003, just two seasons removed from a 1-15 record, Carolina won the NFC championship to gain its first Super Bowl berth. The Panthers earned another NFC championship in 2015, but were defeated in Super Bowl 50. Courtesy of Pro Football Hall of Fame The LIEFL-Carolina Panthers live for games like this. The Long Island Electric Football League in Week 6 and 7 are usually the most exciting weeks. It's win or walk! This game is a really important rematch of last year's NFC Wild Card game, where Carolina beat Green Bay 42-20 in what was a closer game than the score. In that game the Packers showed a lot of promise, so much promise that here they are undefeated in Week #6 taking on the Panthers at home. Every coach came to watch this game. They all have access to the Tudor site, and they all follow the numbers religiously. Carolina Coach Matt Zoo-York McQueen said, "My team is hungry for this game. Foster and Jones can deliver a knock-out shot to the Packers, and I 've been scouting the Packers out. Good luck stopping my two guys who have produced 1243 yards and 10 touchdowns! That's a lot of firepower coming at you and I think my game plan will succeed today, but hey, I am going against Coach Viggs, and he's definitely one of the smartest coaches in the country. The guy is an excellent athlete and he is a student of the game. The Green Bay defense has definitely improved, but I think we will get the best of them and keep this game close. How about, Kevin Greene, Sam Mills, and Larry Webster are going to come up big for us. We've been talking about this game for the last three weeks, and now it's here." The Panthers are an explosive football team. They've won two straight games, one, against Arizona 17-14, and last week they beat Minnesota at Minnesota 27-21 in overtime! Carolina has distributed the ball nicely, and their kick returner Greg Jones has 818 yards and two touchdowns! It doesn't stop there. Running back DeShaun Foster is almost impossible to stop. He's ranked #4 in the NFC, and he has ruffled up 425 total yards with eight touchdowns as one of the toughest backs in the league. The Carolina defense is vicious as well! No team in NFL history has won more championships than the Packers which has earned Green Bay the moniker, "Titletown USA." Over the years, the Packers have twice strung together three straight league crowns (1929-1931, and 1965-67). In all, the franchise has claimed a record 13 NFL championships including four Super Bowl titles. Courtesy of Pro Football Hall of Fame On the other end of the spectrum. This should be a great rematch. The Packers defense has given up an NFL-BEST 31 points, but many around the league feel they haven't been tested, and are suspect, but we'll see today against one of the best offenses in the game. Packers Coach, Ed Viggs knows that this will be no easy game in this matchup and he's relying that brutal and unforgiving Green Bay defense to stop the Panthers mauling ability. Viggs has to rely on a not so great offense to win this game. As the teams get better the Packers will need an offense. Maybe they will bring back John Jefferson from the past, or who knows who they may trade for in the January Draft. Coach Viggs builds winners! Green Bay beat Minnesota to start the season 7-0, then they beat rival Detroit 14-7, and New Orleans in New Orleans 14-10, and in a very close game, they beat the Atlanta Falcons 10-7, in overtime, until last week they beat a very convincing and "red-hot" Chicago Bears team 13-7! That brings them to this game. Packers running back, Terdell Middleton has only 239 yards rushing, and he has been part of the offensive production of the team, but Sterling Sharpe has totaled 482 total yards with one touchdown. They have yet to unleash Jim Taylor, who exploded against Carolina in that 2019, Wild Card game for 160 yards rushing. The Pack is holding on to Taylor in the event they can trade off for him so they can add to an already stellar defensive unit. Is Viggs leaving Taylor in the cage until tonight's game? The question is, how far can Viggs take these Packers? On first down, the Green Bay Packers offense kicked into high gear handing the ball off to the Panthers nemesis, Jim Taylor who took a 28 yard run upfield for the first down! On second down, Taylor burst forward for another first down to the Carolina 30-yard line! Surprise, surprise! And the Panthers fought right back on the next play dropping Jim Taylor four yards behind the line of scrimmage, with second down coming up. Carolina continues to struggle trying to figure out Jim Taylor as he ran hard around the right side of the field into the end zone to make the score 7-0, giving Green Bay the lead in front of a home crowd at Lambeau Field, with 8:55 left to go in the half! What a run by Taylor! We don't see the guy run the ball all season, but in the big games, the Packers and Coach Viggs breaks out the big guns! Panthers star back, Greg Jones ran the ball back 44-yards for the Carolina Panthers on their opening kickoff! On first down, Deshaun Foster ran 21 yard full steam ahead to the Packers 35-yard line on first down! It took just three plays for Foster and the Panthers to run to the Packers 15-yard line with 2:30 left to go in the half. The Panthers busted through the number one defense in the Long island Electric Football League in Green Bay who has allowed just 31 points this season. Foster ran ahead again, this time for 14-yards to the Carolina one yard line, tackled by Green Bay defensive end, Reggie White as the first half came to a close! At the start of the second half, from one yard out, Carolina running back, DeShaun Foster ran in the touchdown to tie the game with 14:48 left to go in the game, 7-7! On a great kickoff return for the Packers, receiver Sterling Sharpe exploded for a 44-yard return. On first down Jim Taylor picked up where he left off with a 6-yard run to midfield, tackled by Greg Jones. On second down, Taylor ran for 10 yards for another first down to the Carolina 40 yard line with 9:37 left to go in the game. This is exactly what Green Bay needed to keep the pressure on Carolina, and unlike that game in the playoffs last year, Coach Viggs has created a stable balance between his offense and defense tonight with big Jim Taylor leading the way. On second down, Green Bay decided to pass after Taylor was stopped on first down. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw a beautiful pass to Sterling Sharpe over the middle of the field, and Sharpe ran for a 28-yard first down, bringing the ball to the Carolina 16-yard line with 5:08 remaining in the game! Taylor was stopped on a first down run at the 20 yard line, for a 4-yard loss as Coach Viggs worked the clock. The Packers have played nearly a perfect game, keeping the ball away from Foster and Jones, and that is not an easy task. Leave it to the Green Bay defense, which Viggs seems to believe in more than the league does. Taylor was stopped on first down and brought back for a 17 yard loss, and the Packers again, decided to pass the ball on second down. With clock running down, running back Terdell Middleton failed to get a first down for the Packers on the pass play, and he was stopped at the line of scrimmage! On the next play Jim Taylor got back 4 yards, but he brought the ball to the Carolina 35-yard line with 7 seconds left in the game. The Green Bay Packers in dramatic fashion kicked the 35 yard field goal to win the game, beating Carolina in a 10-7 war as the Packers remain undefeated in the 2020 season! They are the only undefeated team in the Long Island Electric Football League in Week#6! Coach Viggs just threw his fist in the air in victory as the Packers had great reason to celebrate, beating an awesome football team who they will most likely see again in the playoffs! The Green Bay Packers (6-0), defense kept the ball out of Foster's hands and Jones hands and that was the key to the game, time management and defense! So far this season defense has played a significant role for the Packers but they proved today against one of the best teams in the league that they can play offense as well. Jim Taylor rose to the occasion with 84 yards rushing and a touchdown to give the Packers the victory. What a game! Green Bay flies to division rival Chicago to battle to be the only team in the seven game season to have an undefeated season! The Carolina Panthers (3-3) will finish the season at home against division rival New Orleans Saints!
  5. RAMS HOLD OFF JETS 21-13, AND MAY HAVE CRUSHED NEW YORK'S HOPE FOR A PLAYOFF BID! (3-2) COACH JOEY PIZZ (10-11) October 19, 2020. Los Angeles, California. This Week#6 Long Island Electric Football League game between Coach Billy O'C's Los Angeles Rams (4-1) and Coach Joey Pizz' New York Jets (3-2) is intriguing because the Jets have had a Cinderella year and the Rams, are the two time back-to-back LIELF Super Bowl Champion. The Jets have a combination of great teamwork. They've scored nine touchdowns and have won two straight games at home. This game is on the road and they have not won a game yet on the road . They opened the season losing to the Buffalo Bills 14-7 on the road, then they beat San Francisco 14-10, and lost to Indianapolis at Indianapolis 17-6, but the big star on their schedule was beating Denver 24-21 in overtime, and Miami 20-14 in overtime. The Jets, for the first time since 2016, are aiming for another shot at the playoffs. There is nobody who stands out on a team more than Jets receiver, Wesley Walker, who has 672 yards with two touchdowns. The "Reverend" Isaac Bruce, has 1027 yards with four touchdowns, complimented by Wendell Tyler's running attack who has six touchdowns, and 387 rushing yards on 42 carries. This Rams team has won two games on the road and two games at home. After their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-21 in Week#2, the Rams have been stellar, beating three tough teams in Buffalo 16-10 at Buffalo in overtime, the New York Giants 21-14, and division rival San Francisco 49ers 16-10 in overtime in San Francisco. It could be a long day for both teams but Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner, thinks it's going to be a very close game. He said, if you look at the Jets schedule, of course it's not like the Rams, but the Jets have stood up and played some tough teams. There only weakness is on the road, and that's where they'll fall short today. This game will determine whether or not they make it into the postseason and it will be a miracle for the New York Jets to pull off an upset against the Rams. It would be a franchise historic game." Rams coach Billy O'C just lost with the Buffalo Bills against Denver, so to play back-to-back games at this level will be an experience. The Rams have to come out ready to play and if the Jets can get him into overtime this could end up in a very big upset. After gaining two yards on second down Tyler took it eight yards for a first down, tackled by Jets defensive lineman, Joe Klecko at the Jets 22-yard line with 10:06 left to go in the first half as Billy OC switched things up on the line. It's was going to be tough for this Jets defense to stop Wendell Tyler. And Tyler ran for another first down for the Rams at the 12-yard line of the Jets, with Winston Hill making the tackle. Hill has had a spectacular year for the Jets switching over from the tackle spot to the line, and he's been brilliant, but this will be his biggest challenge yet! On the next play, Tyler scooted in from 12 yards out to give the Rams a 7-0 lead, with 6:36 left to go in the half! On the Jets opening kickoff, Wesley Walker took it back 56 yards with 5:11 remaining in the half. On first down for the Jets they got pushed back 13-yards by a ferocious NFC West Rams defense, and the Jets had to make some adjustments so that they can figure out a way to get through the Fabulous-Five front line of Los Angeles. There's a lot of talk around the league about these Rams and whether or not they're hungry for a third title, but they have played outstanding football this season. Jets running back, Le'Veon Bell picked up 11 of the 13 yards that he lost bring the ball to midfield as the Jets are forced to pass on third down. As the first half came to a close Sam Darnell hit Wesley Walker across the middle for a 49-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7! The Jets are working on all cylinders. Holy smokes on the first play of the second half Isaac Bruce ran a hundred yard kick return down the Jets sideline into the end zone to make the score 14-7, with 14-47 left to go in the game, the Rams take the lead! After a 59-yard kick return by Le'Veon Bell the Jets got stuffed on three straight downs, forcing a fourth down field goal attempt from 41 yards away to make the score 14-10 in favor of the Los Angeles Rams, who put on a performance with 7:26 left to go in the game! Isaac Bruce ran it down the right side again for 45 yards and he was hit hard by Joe Klecko! Coach Billy O'C and the Rams plan to eat the clock as the Jets put themselves in a serious situation and start to realize there is a possibility that their playoff hopes will be jinxed as Wendell Tyler gets turned back for a 6-yard loss on a great defensive play by the Jets. On second down, Don Maynard came up with a huge tackle for a 15-yard loss back to the Rams 30-yard line forcing a third down play! These Jets are not finished yet! And on third down on a well-fought play by the Jets, Wendell Tyler broke Free at the last second and he took it down field 61 yards into the end zone to make the score 21-10, with 1:56 left to go in the game! The Rams are looking at their fifth win of the season! And this is exactly what the great teams do. The Rams have their backs against the wall, on the verge of giving the ball back to the Jets who could have taken the lead, but they were denied by this Rams offense who continues to perform under pressure! They've been passing every single test for two years, including when their backs are against the wall, and the Rams teamwork is incredible on this team with 1:06 left to go in the game! Le'Veon Bell took the ball back 56 yards with an open field tackle made by Rosy Grier, his third of the game with 35 seconds left to go and the Jets decide to kick a field goal and go for the points as the Rams win the game 21-13! What a spectacular finish! The Los Angeles Rams (5-1), saw Wendall Tyler total 103 yards with two touchdowns, one a game piercing 61 yard pass play from quarterback Jared Goff to seal the deal! Isaac Bruce had three kick returns for 198 yards, with a 100-yard touchdown! The Rams face the Arizona Cardinals next week in the season finale! As for the New York Jets (3-3), they are still in the playoff hunt, but their backs are against the wall. They play on the road again next week at New England and it will take a miracle to beat the Patriots at home. ReplyForward
  6. BUFFALO 21 DENVER 24 DENVER CRUSHES BUFFALO'S PLAYOFF HOPES 24-21 IN THE TERRELL DAVIS SHOW WITH 3 TD'S AND 386 RECORD SETTING YARDS! THE COUNTDOWN (2-3) COACH BILLY O'C (14-7) This Long Island Electric Football game between the Buffalo Bills (2-3) and the Denver Broncos (2-3), has come under the microscope because this game could be one of the keys to making the playoffs. If we went back to the Buffalo Bills championship team of 2017, they were an awesome force in the playoffs, taking the league by storm and eventually winning the LIEF-Super Bowl as a Wild Card team. And then, the next season through the Draft, with an improved team build up in the AFC draft, the Bills didn't even make the playoffs in 2018. We never thought a team would be as good as Buffalo after that record-setting 2017 Super Bowl. We thought Buffalo might be a two or three-peat champion, but we couldn't have been more wrong. At the end of the season the league will purchase 175 new player bases for the upcoming 2021 Draft. Several teams stand to gain the competitive edge in next season's competition; #1 San Francisco,#2 Jacksonville, #3 Cleveland, #4 Houston, #5 Kansas City, #6 Minnesota, and #7 Las Vegas. At the moment, San Francisco will earn three first round Draft picks. We take the top 25-30 player bases from the Draft, but sometime out of all of those bases we only get 10 bases who can perform, or try to perform in the league. In this case we purchase an additional 100 player bases until we can get the number we need. Like all leagues, only the best survive the January LIEFL Draft. Great players have changed the league, Jimmie Giles from Tampa Bay, Isaac Bruce from the Rams, Jerry Rice of the 49ers, Don Hampton of the Bears, Miami's Jason Taylor, who led the Dolphins to the AFC Championship, the Packers front line, and the Broncos, along with the Saints, just to mention a few, all benefitted from a great 2020, Draft. The league's own strength took itself by storm with 25 out of 32 teams currently still alive in the playoff hunt in 2020, due to a tremendous 2020 Draft. That is the sign of a very good league. We are in Week#6, and we cannot predict the 14 teams who will make the playoffs, but it's great competition. Billy O'C's Rams (4-1), Dolphins (3-2), Colts (5-1), and these Bills (2-3), may make the playoffs, which means that Alternate coach, Joe "Bino" will have to play against O'C. Although this game will be much tougher for Coach Billy O'C's Buffalo Bills than for Coach Paddy Brannigan's Denver Broncos, this year has been filled with surprises and upsets! Anything is possible! In the 1981 season, Buffalo lost to the Denver Broncos 23-13 in the AFC Divisional Championship Game, and in the 1982 season, the Bills spoiled a perfect (14-0) Denver Broncos season in the AFC Divisional Game, 28-27! Proof of that was last week when the (1-3) New Orleans Saints upset the Denver Broncos 17-14, in Denver, embarrassing them on their home field. Paddy Brannigan walked off in shock! Broncos running back, Terrell Davis has to find his fire at this point or the Broncos will be looking at another year of rebuilding, instead of playing in the post-season. It's been 28 years since Denver has seen a post season game in the LIEFL. Davis has been exceptional. He is ranked #3 in the AFC in all-purpose yards with 40 carries and 1347 yards, with 11 touchdowns, six of them 100-yard kick returns. He can be very dangerous, but he needs this Broncos line to come to work and play the entire game. Buffalo is not a team or coach to sleep on. O'C has found a way to keep all of his teams at the same fierce competitive level, win or lose, he's coming to play. In the meantime, Terrell Davis has had an explosive year for Denver but the real question is did he hit his peak? Nothing really needs to be said about OJ Simpson he's going to come to play no matter what but this is Buffalo's opportunity to turn things around with the extremely challenging schedule they've had, but beating Denver at home will be a huge challenge but not impossible. Historically in the Long Island Electric Football League the Denver Broncos in the'70s were a powerhouse, but as we research further into our league we compared the new player base bottoms to the old and believe it or not, there is some noticeable wear and tear on the prongs of the TTC bottoms. It is possible that those player base bottoms wear out after time and as they lighten in weight the new bottoms have the advantage weighed down. "Our league watches for any advantage coaches try to get with the player bases, extra paint, and any form of cheating at all," said LIEFL Rules Commissioner Pete Porcelli, a former Pro football player in the Arena League. Porcelli played his college ball at Emporia State, Nassau CC, and CW Post. In a 32 team league it's extremely difficult to transform every single team all at once, so over the last five years, every single team in the Long Island Electric Football League has been worked on as though they were a new team competing for a championship. "This year already, 25 teams have remained competitive to Week #6. That's actually incredible! It makes for enormous competition. Of course it's not the NFL, but we can see the improvement standards of the league consistently grow. I think that's what commissioner every league strives for," said LIEFL Commissioner and Professor of Communication, William O'Connell. Denver Broncos Coach, Paddy Brannigan said, "When you're playing for money and makes competition meaningful, lifelike, and we have high standards in terms of the rules. It does make a difference. People take a league a little more seriously when it comes to winning and losing. The statistical data that we use within the league is also very helpful. We see it each week and we can follow the competition and their stats, players to watch, and even the accurate standings can be helpful. For me I know OJ Simpson's work in the league. He is a legend, so we know we have our work cut-out because he can beat you with one play under pressure. Keeping accurate information and data helps us to project, predict, and follow the results of each team's transformation." Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner said, "The fact that Miami were AFC champs last year and we are seeing the result of the 2020 drafts go to work, the dimension of competition has changed because teams continue to improve and when you see that happening in a league, it makes for a very exciting electric football league. These Broncos are a perfect example of a team who has made a comeback. They slowly, over the last three seasons, have changed their defensive and offensive schemes and running back, Terrell Davis is right at the top of the game in this league. I'm actually surprised that the Broncos have lost three games, but that's the beauty of the league. I think the only team that has played dominant football in this league, and I wouldn't even call it dominant, is the Los Angeles Rams. They serve as perhaps the best example of teamwork. Yes, they have stars, but they seem to get the job done in the trenches when they need it most and that's what makes the Rams special." PLAY BY PLAY: The excitement of this game brought the opening kickoff of a full House to their feet as Broncos running back, Terrell Davis returned the ball 43-yards! And on first down Davis took a stunning 57-yard touchdown into the end zone to put the Denver ahead 7-0 on an explosive run, with 13:12 left to go in the half! What a run! This is a do or die situation for both of these teams. The season has slowed up to keep up with the due date of November 15th to complete the regular season games, as Buffalo's OJ Simpson explodes on the Bills opening kickoff for 72 yards, to the Denver Broncos 28-yard line. The next game on the Week#6 calendar is the Los Angeles Rams against the tough AFC East New York Jets! On first down, Simpson bullied his way ahead for a 9 yard gain, to the Denver 19-yard line, just a yard shy of the first down. On second down OJ Simpson again rushed his way 12-yards to the Denver 7-yard line, making it first in goal for Buffalo. On the very next first down Simpson could only gain one yard as Denver's defensive lineman, Karl Mecklenburg came in and made a huge tackle at the six yard line. The Broncos defense is evenly matched with Buffalo's offense. On second down, Denver came up huge, and OJ Simpson was tackled at the 12-yard line for a loss of six yards, forcing a third down pass play for the Buffalo Bills. And rookie Ray Brown broke open at the one yard line and scored a touchdown from 12 yards on a Jim Kelly touchdown pass to tie the score 7-7, with 4:08 left to go in the half! Wow! Terrell Davis did it again! Davis flew scorched the Bills special teams unit with his 7th 100-yard touchdown return of the season, as he explodes to give Denver the lead with 2:31 left to go in the half on an amazing run, 14-7, Denver! This one is turning into a spectacular game Davis is having a dream season as the Broncos rebound at home! Denver learned lots of lessons last week in their home loss to New Orleans. It is a game they should not have lost, but in this league on any given Sunday anything can happen as the first half comes to a close with OJ Simpson running for the first down! At the start of the second half, OJ Simpson took the ball to the 42-yard line of Denver for a 14-yard pickup for the Bills. And on first down again, Simpson ran for eight yards through the Denver defense. On the very next play Simpson took the ball in from 32-yards away into the end-zone to tie the game at 14-14 with 13:31 left to go in the game! Spectacular! This battle was on fire! It's just what we expected from two high-powered high octane offenses on both sides! On Terrell Davis next kick return, he took it 59-yard to the 41-yard line of Buffalo. Davis got busy right away with a 23-yard first down to the Bills 19-yard line. What a game! Both of these teams knew this might be their last meaningful game of the season. Either one of them will most likely be eliminated from the playoffs hunt. Imagine, two teams like this on the verge of being eliminated from the playoffs, two outstanding football teams regardless of their records! They've both been in every single game of the season as the competition heats up to an entirely different level, as we watch Davis pick up six more yards, tackled by Marcel Dareus. The Broncos offensive line pounded the Bills defense. And this time Davis blasted through the hole, taking it in for a 13-yard touchdown run to give the Broncos a 21-14 lead, with 8:09 left to go in the game in an amazing game! There was a roar in the room as Davis scored his third touchdown of the game, and his 14th touchdown of the season!. On the following kickoff OJ Simpson ran 44-yards, but Randy Gradishar hit him hard to make the tackle with 6:27 left to go in the game! The Bills will try to kill the clock as coach Billy OC is looking at defeat if he doesn't manage this game properly. It's unlikely that Buffalo would be able to kill 6 minutes. On first down, Simpson ran for 14 yards as he was stopped by Denver defensive lineman, Neil Smith at the Broncos 42-yard line. Holy cow! On first down, OJ Simpson edged around the right side of the field for a 42-yard touchdown scamper into the end zone to tie the game at 21-21, with 3:27 left to go! The anxiety and stress along with the excitement set in. As the clock wound down, Terrell Davis exploded again, this time for 79 yards on the kick return! What a game for Davis as he took the ball to the Buffalo 21 yard line with 52 seconds left to go in the game! This might just be the last play of the game as the clock wound down to the final seconds. On first down Davis ran for 3 yards to the Buffalo 17-yard line. On the next play is the clock had seconds remaining and the Broncos kicked the game-winning field goal to win the game 24-21 in a stunner! This Denver victory may have just ended the Buffalo Bills 2020 season! The Denver Broncos (3-3), came up huge at home by doing everything right! Terrell Davis was nothing short of spectacular in this game and if he can have another game like this next week, the Broncos would be a primed playoff team! What a heart-breaker for Buffalo as Billy O'C goes to (14-8), and Broncos coach, Paddy Brannigan jumps in the air, celebrating a Denver shot at the post-season run! The Denver Broncos are back in the saddle as running back Terrell Davis had record setting day for the Broncos, with five rushes for 102 yards, with two touchdowns, one a 57 yard touchdown run, and four kick returns for 281 yards, with a 100-yard kick return for a touchdown for the blazing back! Davis totaled 9 carries for 383 yard, with three amazing touchdowns! That brings him to a league leading 1730 yards with 14 touchdowns! He is just 270 yards shy of becoming only the second player in Long Island EFL history to reach 2,000 in a seven game season! He will be hard to catch in the AFC! Denver plays Las Vegas in Las Vegas next week! OJ Simpson ran for 133 rushing yards with three touchdowns, and he had 160 yards on kick returns, totaling 293 yards on nine carries for the Bills, as the Bills complete the 2020 season at home against Miami!

Week #6 of the Long Island Electric Football League is underway with two extremely competitive teams in the Houston Texans (1-4), coached by rookie coach Levi Vick against the veteran coach Billy O'C's Indianapolis Colts (4-1). These two teams will battle regardless of their records because this is an epic division rival. The Colts never count the Texans out! Coach Billy O'C said, "Coach Vick has done a great job this year. It's very tough to come into a new league that you know nothing about other than how to play the game, and perform against guys who have a lot of experience, and nobody likes to lose. And I believe I have learned just as much from him as he might from the whole league. None of us think that we're better than each other, that's the beauty of the league, we just love to play the game and the game loves us. To think that we started this league 49 years ago when my Mom showed me how to play her way, is amazing that I've stuck with it all these years. Houston running back, Ron Dayne is no one to be fooled with. He's a great player and one of the top runners in the league and if it were not for the Texans tough schedule on the road, they might be in a different position right now, so I expect my running back to keep the ball on the ground and try to secure our fifth win of the season." Houston Coach Levi Vick said, "I love my Texans. I think they're very exciting football team and in this league you're always one game or sometimes even one play away from winning or losing. I'm really happy to be a part of this league and the guys are just amazing and the teams are fantastic. I'm playing my heart out so that I can at least experience the postseason with hopefully one team. I just have to try to stop Joseph Addai today and that is not going to be easy. He's so explosive and I just have to score points and keep up with the Colts and look for linebackers in the draft for this team. We don't need a running back. I think Ron Dayne is a star that I inherited when I took over. I need to get him a line that can compete on every down, and I'll be looking for linebackers who can step up." Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Andrew Slawson of Slawson's LIEFL Corner said, "Ron Dayne ranks 5th in the AFC in all-purpose yards, with 957 yards and five touchdowns, with two 100 yard returns! And Joseph Addai for the Colts ranks 4th in the AFC with 55 carries, and 1127 all-purpose yards with seven touchdowns, but 39 of those carries and 451 of those yards, and all of those touchdowns are from rushing, ranking him #2 in the AFC in that category behind Los Angeles' LaDanian Tomlinson. These guys will put on a show! This will be no easy victory. Either way you look at it these are two teams are extremely competitive. They do their own thing on the board and I am seeing lots of improvement in coach Vick who I was hard on early in the season. It's time for the Colts to make their move in the AFC. They have been pressing the competition during the last three seasons, but have fallen short of an AFC title. They have two terrific receivers in Marvin Harrison and Raymond Berry, who can both turn on the afterburners at any time!" PLAY BY PLAY: Houston Texans (1-4) vs Indianapolis Colts (4-1) LEVI VICK (7-12) BILLY O'C (13-7) The game opened with a beautiful kick return by Indianapolis All-Pro running back Joseph A d d a i, who ran the ball back 65-yards to the Houston 35 yard line. On first down the Texans drove that front line of Indianapolis back for a huge 15 yard loss, but on the very next play coach Billy O'C made three or four adjustments on the Colts front line and then he watched his running back A d d a i take charge with an explosive 34-yard run to the one yard line of the Texans! What a brutal matchup! After being stopped on first and second down by the Texans defensive line the Colts were forced to pass on third down with 8:14 left to go in the half. On a great play by quarterback Peyton Manning threw a pass to the lightning fast Marvin Harrison who took the quick pop pass into the end-zone for the touchdown from 7 yards away to give the Colts the 7-0 lead, with 7:44 left to go in the half! Houston's Ron D a y n e returned the Texans first kickoff 40-yards until he was turned around by Andre Johnson of his own team, and the Texans peered 60-yards downfield toward the end zone. After two failed rushing attempts, stopped by a brutal Indianapolis defensive front line led by Bubba Smith, the Texans were put in a predicament after losing 25-yards, and they were forced to pass on third down. Coach Billy O'C's Colts are being primed for a playoff run, yet again. And on third down, Houston quarterback, Deshaun Watson failed to find an open receiver, and that spelled trouble for the Texans as they turn the ball over to the Colts. And just like that, on an explosive run by Joseph Addai, the Indianapolis Colts take the lead 14-0, on a scorching 100-yard kick return by Addai to end the first half! Wow! The great coaches take advantage of the opposition's weakness and that third down stoppage by the Colts of the Texans blew the doors open for Indianapolis who has put up some numbers this season, but it's their defense that keeps the balance! This is a very good football team, even improved from last year! On the ensuing kickoff Ron Dayne took the ball back 39-yards and he was clobbered by Addai head-on, as the Colts continue to perform and battle to clinch the division title today, working hard for home field advantage in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Chargers are (5-1), and they will battle it out with the Colts the two best teams with the best records fight for the advantage. Dayne ran the very first play after that 39 yard return, around the left side of the field, exploding for a 56-yard touchdown run! The Texans fire back, making the score 14-7, Colts in the lead with 11:15 left to go in the game! What a spectacular run by Dayne! When the Colts returned their next kickoff Joseph Addai exploded to the 54-yard line with defensive tackle Eric Winston coming up big, making his third tackle of the day! On first down, Addai again, bullied his way 22-yards down to the Texans 25-yard line with 8:04 left to go in the game! This league has not seen the best of Addai yet. On next first down set, the Colts were pushed back 13-yards on a great defensive surge by the Texans front line, with lineman JJ Watt leading the way. And after another failed attempt on first down, Indianapolis were forced to pass. On third down Colts quarterback Peyton Manning threw a bullet to Raymond Berry this time, who dashed downfield 45 yards into the end zone to make the score 21-7, Colts jump ahead with time running out in the game at 2:45 left to go! Wow! Ron Dayne ran a spectacular 63-yard kick return back! Dayne wasn't about to quit! He was turned just 40 yards short of a touchdown run and a wide open field great play by the Texans with two-minutes left to go in the game! The Colts are going to clinch a playoff spot and get home field advantage in their first game of the playoffs! This team just keeps getting better and better each week. They might be the best coach team they ever put on the field! And, with time running out, Houston kicks the 37 yard field goal in a 21-10 thrashing from division rival Indianapolis Colts. The Colts (5-1), play the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) next week, and the Houston Texans finish with Tennessee! Colts running back finished with 56 yards rushing on seven carries, and he had 219 kick return yards with a 100-yard touchdown, totaling 275 yards on the day! Ron Dayne had 142 kick return yards, and an explosive 56 yard Touchdown scamper, totaling 203 all-purpose yards!

  11. COACH ED VIGGS (12-8) COACH KEVIN MALONEY (8-11) THE COUNTDOWN Week#6: is a beast of a week! The Long Island Electric Football League is winding down with lots of division rivalries that will have many teams finding a plan for 2021, and only the best coaches will remain in the hunt for the playoffs. The division races are so close that it is still too early to pick the playoff teams, but one team who we will see in the post season for the second year in a row is the only undefeated team in the league, the Green Bay Packers (5-0). The excitement is mounting for LA Chargers Coach Viggs, whose Chargers have been very hot lately. Los Angeles has won four straight games to hefty competition in Kansas City, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and last week they beat Buffalo 21-17, in a rematch of their AFC Divisional Game. LaDanian "LT" Tomlinson won't be easy to slow down. Tomlinson has 35 carries with 475 yards and 8 touchdowns rushing, and 49 carries for 1189 all-purpose yards with 9 total touchdowns! This data tells us how good LT is against the competition as he continues to consistently be one of the best back's in the game, which he would be in any league. He was the AFC All-Purpose Leader in 2019 with 1779 yards, and this season, he is second, only to Denver's Terrell Davis! The Raiders have been playing terrific in the past few weeks and they won the Super Bowl in our first seven game season format in 2008! This 2020 season has been a huge challenge with the fierce competition. They lost their home opener to Carolina 14-7, then they beat New Orleans 10-3, lost to New England 27-21 in OT, lost to Buffalo 17-14 at home, and before this game they beat Atlanta at Atlanta last week in a stunner, 24-21! Las Vegas tight end, Dave Casper is ranked #5 in the AFC in All-Purpose yards, and he's been the leader again for Las Vegas, with 18 carries for 965-yards, with five touchdowns! The Raiders must find their purpose today. If they win this game, they have a great shot at making the playoffs for the second year in a row. PLAY BY PLAY Los Angeles Chargers (4-1) vs Las Vegas Raiders (2-3) Las Vegas, Nevada. October 12, 2020. On the opening kickoff Raiders return-man Dave Casper, who has really upped his game in the last few weeks, returned the ball 70-yards on the opening kickoff! The Raiders get a great start at the Chargers 30-yard line! On first down, Las Vegas got bullied back 11-yards for a huge opening drive loss. The Chargers sure did their homework! That relentless charging ahead with this All-Pro defensive line that the Chargers have is impressive as they head into the postseason. If they win this game, they clinch a playoff spot at (5-1), with one game remaining in the regular season! Now is the time for a team to get strong and work out any of the kinks before the playoffs. This Los Angeles team has done this high-octane play three straight seasons as they systematically hone in on their offensive plays. Coach Viggs has this team well trained! Las Vegas running back, Bo Jackson gets pushed back another 11-yards, 22-yards shy of a first down back to their own 48-yard line, and that's going to force a pass play on the Raiders, but on third down, the Chargers defense came up big as Marv Hubbard took the ball 12 yards, ten yards short of a Raider first down. The Raiders are in trouble as they were forced to kick the Field-Goal by a fierce Chargers defense from 42 yards away! The ball went right through the uprights to give the Raiders the lead 3-0! LaDainian Tomlinson took the ball back for LA. Tomlinson is having another outstanding season for the Chargers. Once the Chargers took Casper out of making a play on that last drive, it almost left them no hope for a first down. You can bet that the Chargers are playing playoff-style football right now, having no mercy at all for any team in the league. Tomlinson returned the ball 50-yards with 8:07 left to go in the half! On first down LT exploded, carrying the ball 40-yards to the ball to the Las Vegas 10 yard line. The Blue-Collar Chargers, made quick work of the Raiders defensive line! And on the very next play, the reliable Tomlinson found himself in the end zone for a quick 10-yard touchdown as Los Angeles takes the lead 7-3, with 5:28 left to go in the first half! The Raiders, when they played in Oakland was such an intense atmosphere with knowledgeable football fans. This new set of circumstances in Vegas is totally different, as Dave Casper gets set to run his second kick return back, returning the kick 57-yards. Casper has been on fire in the last two games. The Raiders are not going to waste any time running the football. Coach Maloney's Raiders need to strike and get ahead here and play the clock game. That's two plays that Casper has given the Las Vegas offensive line an opportunity within short distance of the end-zone, but they could only muster up three points. On the first play from scrimmage, the Raiders faked the pass and Bo Jackson delivered a one yard gain on the run, brought down by LA defensive lineman, Louie Kelcher. The Raiders tried to get something going in the ground game, but Los Angeles has played outstanding on defense this season. The Chargers made it to the LIEFL-Super Bowl two seasons ago where they lost to the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams 31-28, in OT. It will be amazing if it were a rematch between the two teams as the Chargers look for their first Super Bowl victory, but the Rams will be looking for their third in a row if that ever happens! The Raiders lost 12 yards on the second down play, and it forces a third down passing situation. We certainly didn't think that the Raiders would struggle this much in the running game, but again, the Chargers defense looks fantastic as the first half comes to a close! In the first play of the second half, Las Vegas quarterback David Carr, could not complete the pass to a wide open Tim Brown, who had great coverage at 14:22 left to go in the game, forcing the Raiders to make a huge decision. And Las Vegas decided to go for it on fourth down, but then changed their decision, looking for a 59-yard field goal as the kick sways left of the upright and the ball is turned over to the Chargers at the 41-yard line! LT was going to make quick work of this opportunity as the Los Angeles defense came up huge for the second time in the game! We're quite sure you're not going to see any Mercy from the Chargers, who have a whole different agenda, as Coach Maloney might be on the verge of trading this team to Coach Brannigan. It's been the talk of the league because for years Brannigan has wanted to own the Raiders. We don't think Maloney will give up on a season, but it looks like the Raiders are in dire straits at the moment as LT picked up two yards on first down as Howie Long made the stop with the clock ticking away at 12:20 remaining in the game as Tomlinson found an open hole into the end zone from 38-yards away for his second score of the game 14-3, Los Angeles Chargers! Unreal! On the next kickoff for Casper took it back 57-yards giving the Raiders great field position once again. Casper would be a star in any league and his consistency since 2008 has been incredible. And with 9:04 left to go in the game, Las Vegas needs a score here. The Chargers are relentless, and just as we said that, Bo Jackson blasted through the left side for a 48-yard touchdown into the end zone to put the game at 14-10, with The Chargers in the lead, and the Raiders finishing strong! Beautiful run by Jackson with 7:44 left to go in the game! The Raiders have really struggled in this game. They missed the field goal, missed two third down conversion opportunities, and have played with their backs against the wall the entire game. The Los Angeles Chargers will have the chance to clinch a playoff berth today, with 6:33 left in the game. That last play was the play that the Raiders needed the entire game! On the kickoff, Tomlinson returned the ball 38-yards, setting up a first down for the Chargers. On first down, Tomlinson picked up three yards. On second, down he picked up another 3 yards, and then on third down Tomlinson ran for the first down to the Raiders 49-yard line with 1:44 left in the game as Coach Viggs hunt for another touchdown falls just short with seconds to go in the game. And on the last play the game Lance Alsworth ran for the first down to the Raider 39-yard line as the Chargers (5-1), clinch a playoff birth, winning the game 14-10, knocking the Raiders (2-4), out of the playoffs! The Raiders need help at linebacker for next year and that may be the last we see of Coach Maloney with the Raiders! The Chargers go to (5-1), winning their second game on the road. Los Angeles will head to Kansas City (1-4) to complete the regular season! Tomlinson had 7 carries for 103 yard rushing, with two touchdowns for Los Angeles, and Casper had 3 carries for 181 yards! 16. SEAHAWKS BEAT EAGLES IN MAJOR UPSET 21-20! Paddy Brannigan (9-11) Matt McQueen (8-11) THE COUNTDOWN: No team is safe in the Long Island Electric Football League as Week#5 comes to a close with a team you can't go to sleep on, and that's Coach Paddy Brannigan's Seattle Seahawks (2-2). Seattle competes in the toughest division in the league in the West. Today, they face one of the best teams in game. We say that because these Philadelphia Eagles (3-1), coached by Matt Zoo-York McQueen, beat the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams in Week#1, but today they are playing a team who has come out of nowhere as the most improved team in the league, capitalizing on last year's draft. The Seahawks have been winning quietly, but it is hard not to notice. They lost their opening game to Atlanta 17-14, then they beat New England 17-14, and Dallas beat the Seahawks on their home turf 21-14, but this is where Seattle said, No mas" when they beat Miami at home, 14-10! Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch has been super! Of all the dangerous teams in the league the Eagles have emerged as probably the most dangerous because they have the leading return Man in The League last year in Harold Carmichael, but defenses have figured Carmichael out on the kick returns and he's going to have to rise to the occasion today against Seattle. THE PLAY BY PLAY: Seattle Seahawks (2-2) vs Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) On the opening kickoff All-Pro return man, Harold Carmichael ran the ball back 56-yards to the Seattle 44-yard line, as Seattle tried to recapture the magic in their huge upset performance over the AFC Champion Miami Dolphins 14-10. On first down Philadelphia running back, Keith Byars lost three yards. On second down the Eagles were stopped again by that Seattle front line of Darryl Trapp, Ray Willis, and Cortez Kennedy. These guys are starting to open eyes around the league as the Seattle defense makes a statement early on! On third down down, Seattle stopped the Eagles from getting a first down and they're forced to kick a field goal to take the lead 3-0, with 8:53 left and a half! And on first down for the Seahawks, after a 41 yard kick return by Marshawn Lynch, he ran for a 27-yard first down on the first play from scrimmage. What a battle on the front line! On the next play Seattle lost 15-yards as Philadelphia's Hugh Douglas and company stormed into the backfield with Jerry Sizemore making his 7th tackle of the season! This is definitely a defensive game as we watch Lynch pick-up 10 of the 15-yards he lost on the previous run, making it third down with the Seahawks forced to pass the ball. Hugh Douglas is having some game as he is blasting through that offensive line of the Hawks. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, made a beautiful pass to Lynch to give the Seahawks the lead as the half wound down with Lynch scoring a 38-yard touchdown on a great pass from Wilson! Seattle took the lead, 7-3! To start the second half Harold Carmichael exploded for his fifth hundred yard kick return of the season to put the Eagles up 10-7 with 14:34 left to go in the game on an amazing run by Carmichael! Wow! On the next kickoff, Marshawn Lynch silenced the crowd by roaring right back with the scorching hundred yard kick return of his own, and all the sudden we have a game, 14-10, Seattle with the lead coming from that West division with 13:24 left to go in the game! Philadelphia went right back to work as Harold Carmichael was one man away from running his second touchdown back of the game, giving the Eagles incredible field position with a 59-yard return! On first down, Keith Byars exploded around the Left end for a 27-yard first down with 10:47 left to go in the game! The excitement was growing. The Seahawks look more and more like a playoff team every week as they battle to stay in the hunt just like the Eagles! On first down, Byars ran for 8-yards. On second down, the Seattle Seahawks stopped the run as well as third down, forcing another fourth down situation on Philadelphia at the 10-yard line. And on fourth down Carmichael caught a nice pop-pass for a 10-yard touchdown play! The Eagles take back lead 17-14 with 4:16 left to go in the game, and the clock is running! On the kick return Lynch took it back 68-yards on a spectacular return! What a game with 3:13 left to go! The Seattle Seahawks set up for the pass play to go for it all! The Seahawks gamble paid off BIG with a blazing 33-yard touchdown into the end zone by Joey Galloway, as the Seahawks take the lead 21-17, with just 1:29 left to go in the game! Amazing! Unbelievable! The Eagles could not set up on time, so they kick a field goal, and they end up losing the game in a huge upset to Seattle 21-20! Brannigan jumped all of his 6'4 frame into the air! Is anybody feeling like Seattle's going to the playoffs? They walk out of Philadelphia beating the Eagles at home in an incredible game as the Seahawks head back to Seattle to play the Washington Football team in another clash of the titans! Watch out for Seattle, they are an outstanding football team and they pulled off another upset and they go to (3-2), just like the Eagles who are now in a four-way tie in the NFC East as this league just raised the bar of competition!
  17. GREEN BAY MAKES STATEMENT WINNING 5TH STRAIGHT IN SHUTDOWN OF BEARS! Coach Paddy Brannigan (8-10) Coach Ed Viggs (11-8) October 8, 2020. Green Bay Wisconsin. Lots of excitement happening in the Long Island Electric Football League as we light the torch in our 2020 LIEFL season Week#5 wind down. https://forum.tudorgames.com/files/category/39-2020-long-island-electric-football-league-ratings-all-time-wins-coaches-standings-and-schedule/ The Long Island Electric Football League mourns the loss of NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Gale Sayers, and in his spirit, the Chicago Bears (3-1), couldn't be more anxious to prove they're for real this season. They have been just as spectacular as the Packers, almost flawless. The Bears won three amazing draft picks in the 2019-LIEFL Draft, changing the entire dynamics of the team and making them fierce competitors. Lineman Don Hampton, tight-end Mike Ditka, and Willie Gault have had an amazing year. Gault has been super, with 13 carries and 779 yards, with three touchdowns, all 100-yard kick returns. Stopping the Bears is going to be a big challenge for the undefeated Green Bay Packers (4-0). The Bears have been nothing less than competitive. The Bears now have three offensive weapons, each with four touchdowns, which shows the equal distribution of how they move the ball around. They are flat-out dangerous! Walter Payton, Mike Ditka, and Willie Gault are the triple threat for the Bears. They have won three straight games against tremendous opponents. Chicago opened the season with a 34-28 loss in overtime to the Detroit Lions. Then they beat the New York Giants 16-10 in overtime, and the Atlanta Falcons 21-14, in overtime, and then last week they beat the AFC playoff contender Indianapolis Colts 21-17 giving them their first loss of the season. What was big about last week is Walter Payton rushed for 97 yards with two touchdowns! His setup man Willie Gault had 157 yards in kick returns for this sizzling-hot team! It's a huge challenge to win in Green Bay, but the Packers know that they need to do to stay ahead of Chicago. They must shut down those offensive weapons of the Bears. Green Bay is well coached and well schooled. Coach Viggs has taken these Packers to two LIEFL Super Bowls, but this season the Packers have only scored five touchdowns, and their biggest intimidator is their defense. They've been vicious. The league talk as we mentioned a few weeks ago, is that the Packers haven't played anybody. They beat Minnesota 7-0, then they beat Detroit 14-7, New Orleans was next, and they beat them 14-10 in New Orleans, and then last week they shut down the high-octane Atlanta Falcons 10-7 in overtime! This week is a different story. They're playing a team with a lot of heart who knows how to finish. Coach Viggs thinks it's going to be a very close game, but he's not making any predictions. He said, "I think we're about as ready as we can be to play this team and you have to love what you see in the Chicago Bears. We have a lot of respect for them, but today we have to get our offense going because this team in Chicago can score 30 points a game. I have been very impressed by Patty Brannigan's shenanigans (laughing). He seems to know how to play very well with this team, and we still have to play them again in the last game of the season in Chicago on their home field, so it won't be easy. My goal is to get ahead early and keep this a close game." Brannigan is in a zone, and he had no comments before the game. THE PLAY BY PLAY: Chicago Bears (3-1) Green Bay Packers (4-0) What an exciting game! On the opening kickoff Packers return specialist Sterling Sharpe, ran the ball back 41-yards to open the game for Green Bay. On the first run of the game Packers running back, Terdell Middleton ran for a 15-yard first down to the Chicago Bears 44-yard line, as Bears Coach Paddy Brannigan made some immediate changes to the front line, switching people around to stop the Green Bay surge. On Green Bay's next first down run, William "Refrigerator" Perry stuffed Middleton, holding him to a 2-yard gain, with second down coming up. So far this game is going a bit different than expected. Packers Coach Viggs game plan is clear, run the football and tire the Bears defense out! When it comes to division rivalries, one never knows what can happen! And on second down, Green Bay picked up one more yard on the run, forcing a third down. On third down Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, threw a great strike on the numbers to receiver Sterling Sharpe, as Sharpe broke free for a stunning 43-yard blazing touchdown run into the end-zone to give Green Bay the lead, 7-0, with 6:53 left to go in the half! Chicago was anxious for the return and on their first play, their star player Willie Gault ran back a beautiful kick return for 77-yards, tackled by Packers defensive lineman, Willie Davis at the Green Bay 23-yard line with 5:31 remaining and a half! On the Bears first play from scrimmage, running back Walter Payton got turned back and denied by that LIEFL-NFL League leading Green Bay Packers defense! The Packers have given up only 24 points! And on second down, Payton was again stopped, and brought back to the 30-yard line as Don Hutson made a great defensive play from the outside for Green Bay! That is the thing about the Green Bay defense, they hit you from all sides. And on third down for Chicago, the Bears made their first huge mistake of the game. They received a ten yard penalty for not turning their quarterback around on the pass play, losing out on the down, and forcing a fourth down pass play at 40-yard line with 27-yards needed for the first down. In this league the quarterback must be turned in the opposite direction when passing, and Brannigan failed to do that. Paddy Brannigan may have cost his team big on this one, as the clock wound down to end the first half. On fourth down to start the second half, Chicago fell short of making a first down, and another costly mistake by Coach Brannigan turned the football over to Green Bay! Quarterback Jim McMahon's 19-yard pass to tight-end Mike Ditka wasn't enough for the needed 27 yards as the Bears fell well short of the first down on the play. Chicago turned the ball over to Green Bay. That's one thing coaches cannot afford to do against Coach Viggs, is make mistakes. Things are not quite going the way Chicago Coach Brannigan planned. He had a very disheartened look on his face, and let's see if Green Bay can capitalize on Chicago's mistakes. On first down Green Bay's Terdell Middleton ran for 8-yards! The Bears looked stunned as their front line was mowed down, not what we expected, but the momentum shifted back in Green Bay's favor. On second down, this time Middleton exploded for 19-yards after being tackled by lineman Don Hampton and linebacker Brian Urlacher, as the Packers advanced close to midfield with 11:08 left to go in the game! Green Bay took charge with a huge gain by the Packers for 20-yards by Middleton to the Bears 31-yard line, for another Green Bay first down, with 9:38 left to go in the game! That Green Bay Packers front line has dominated the game! The Bears have tried to switch the line around three different ways, but the Packers have stepped up their game, exposing the Bears weakness in stopping the running game. The key to this game for Green Bay was to keep the ball out of Willie Gault's hands, and they have succeeded at that as we watch the Packers chew away at the clock. This time Richard Dent threw Terdell Middleton to the ground on first down, and the Packers lost a good 12-yards on the play. Green Bay played hard today, and don't forget these two teams will meet again in the final week of the season at Soldier Field in Chicago. On the next play, Middleton was turned back again by the Chicago defense, forcing a third down! The mental errors that Coach Brannigan made in this game have been the turning point for Green Bay. Coach Viggs has taken full advantage of the mistakes! On third down, the Chicago Bears came up huge at the 45-yard line, and the Bears force Green Bay to kick a 45 yard field-goal, making the score 10-0, with 4:20 left to go in the game! Green Bay has a date with Carolina next week in a rematch of the NFC Wild Card game last season in which the Packers lost 42-20! When Chicago got the ball back after a 40-yard return by Willie Gault, on first down the Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, dumped the ball off to Gault, who ran a scorching 60-yard touchdown into the end-zone to make the score 10-7 Green Bay in the lead, with 1:19 left to go in the game! On Green Bay's last possession, Sterling Sharpe ran the kickoff 42-yards as the Pack ran out of time, but not before kicking a 58 yard field-goal right through the center of the goal post, making the score 13-7, as Green Bay wins another one! The Green Bay Packers(5-0), put the Chicago Bears (3-2) to the test as Green Bay remains undefeated! Anyone who doubted the Packers in the league may want to rethink how they play this team. Next week will be another test for the Packers, as they play the Carolina Panthers (3-2), with a chance to remain undefeated! Terdell Middleton played great today as his 65 yards rushing allowed the Packers to consume the timeclock. Green Bay' s Sterling Sharpe had 3 carries for 126 yards, with a huge 43-yard touchdown play! The Bears Willie Gault ended the day with 177 total yards and a gorgeous 60-yard touchdown!
  18. BUCS STAY IN THE FIGHT AS THEY EDGE CHIEFS! Raymond James Stadium Raymond James Stadium, also known as "Ray Jay", is a multi-purpose stadium located in Tampa, Florida. It is home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League as well as the NCAA's South Florida Bulls football team and the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL. The stadium seats 65,618. With the addition of temporary seating, it can be expanded to 75,000 for special events. Matt McQueen (8-10) Joey Pizz (9-11) October 6, 2020. Tampa, Florida. Week#5 Long Island Electric Football League is hard pressed to find a game not meaningful as we have witnessed some huge and playoff-impact upsets this week! This game between Coach Matt Zoo-York McQueen's Kansas City Chiefs and Coach Joey Pizz' Tampa Bay Buccaneers will decide how to proceed moving forward in 2021 for both Kansas City and Tampa Bay. The Chiefs haven't found an answer to winning. They are (67-86 All-Time), and they are (14-21), in the seven game season format of the LIEFL. They haven't seen a playoff game in this league since 1982, when they lost to Miami 28-3, in the AFC Divisional Game. In 38 years, that's the best they've been. The problem is they have league stat leaders who at times have outperformed the best players in the AFC, so it doesn't add up. They went from the Joe Delaney's of the world to Ted McKnight, to Christian Okoye who ran for a career 2966 yards, to this amazing back, Priest Holmes, with little to show for the team other than stats. Through years of rebuilding each division, it is so difficult between the AFC West Raiders, the Broncos, the Chargers and for this Chiefs team to find the winning combination. Coach Ed Viggs Chargers have been in it! The goal for Coach McQueen's Chiefs moving forward, is to be fierce competitors each week. Each time the Kansas City has rebuilt, the challenge has become more difficult in the League because the League is rebuilding. After the 2019 season, Kansas City received the first-round draft pick in Tyreek Hill. Hill has played well, but it isn't enough. Hill has 369 yards and a touchdown. McQueen has to get him more involved in the game. Tampa Bay has been to the playoffs three times in their history, most recently in 2016, when they made it all the way to the Divisional Championship Game and lost to the Detroit Lions 28-24! The Bucs have played hard with great coaching. Normally Bucs running back Ricky Bell would be ranked higher in rushing, and that is where Pizz needs to focus to get this team back into the post-season. Bell ranks dead last in the NFC in rushing with just 167 yards. The highlight of the team is the amazing Jimmie Giles. Giles has been stellar! He has carried the ball 13 times and he has totaled 703 yards with three touchdowns. Giles set a record this season with an 86-yard touchdown play against Denver in Week#3. (1943-2020) PLAY BY PLAY: Kansas City Chiefs (1-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) On the opening kick-off Tampa Bay All-Pro return man Jimmie Giles took the ball back 39-yards. On first down, Tampa Bay running back, Ricky Bell ran for two-yards with 13:04 remaining in the half. On second down, Bell exploded for 38-yard amazing run for the first down, and he didn't stop there! Bell burst ahead for another 14-yard run to the Kansas City seven-yard line with 9:50 left to go in the first half! Tampa Bay was on fire with lots of energy in the first five minutes, then they were stopped on the next two running plays, but on third down Jameis Winston threw a lob pass to Ricky Bell, who ran into the end zone for the touchdown to make the score 7-0, with 4:51 left to go in the half, and the Buccaneers strike first! Kansas City return-man Tyreek Hill returned a 51-yard kickoff to the Tampa Bay 49-yard line and the suspect Chiefs offense rolled in. The offensive line went to battle with the Tampa Bay defense as running back Priest Holmes blasted through a hole for a 25-yard run on his first run and on second down, as the first half came to a close, Holmes was stopped at the line of scrimmage. To start the second half Kansas City picked up where they left off as both of these teams battled hard for a playoff spot. If the Chiefs win this game they will be tied with the Raiders and the Broncos the second place in the battle for a possible Wild Card spot. On second down the Chiefs closed in the Tampa Bay lead as Priest Holmes ran the ball over right tackle with Tony Gonzalez following him to score the touchdown from 24-yards away, tying the score at 7-7, with 13:55 left to go in the game! Wow! What an answer by Tampa Bay All-Pro Jimmie Giles exploded with a hundred yard score to make the score 14-7, with 13:33 left to go in the game and the Buccaneers take the lead! There are some amazing players in this league just like Jimmie Giles! He came to play! Tyreek Hill ran the kickoff back 46-yards on a nice return for Kansas City. On first down, Priest Holmes got turned around as the Tampa Bay defense came up big, pushing Holmes back to the 40-yard line leaving them in their own territory as Kansas City looks 60 yards down field to to the end zone with 8:50 remaining in the game. On a beautiful running play Holmes blasted through the inside of the field for a huge 23-yard run for a Kansas City first down as Warren Sapp made a huge tackle at the 33-yard line for the Bucs stopping Holmes from breaking free into the open field. And after a loss of yardage on their next run, Holmes ran a blazing 29-yard run for another first down for Kansas City, bringing the ball to the 3-yard line of Tampa Bay! The chiefs haven't looked this good running the ball all year! Holmes kept pushing forward, as he did regularly in 2019. He ran the next play right into the end zone on first down for his second touchdown of the game! Win or lose, Kansas City has brought their game back as they tie the game 14-14, with 5:11 left to go in the game! Week#5 has been incredible! There have been some amazing match-ups with these two teams battling right to the end! Jimmie Giles took an amazing kick-return back 59 yards with 4:09 left to go in the game, giving Tampa Bay excellent field position to score. Nobody likes to end their season early, especially in this league. With the clock running out of time, on first down Ricky Bell picked up four yards. One more first down and the Buccaneers can close in on a victory with 1:59 left to go in the game! Ricky Bell was stopped behind the line of scrimmage at the 43-yard line, with third down coming up. The Bucs had just seconds left to kick a field-goal as they run the clock down to win the game 17-14 by a field-goal! What a tremendous game and what a tremendous setback for the Kansas City Chiefs (1-4), who played their best game of the season even in the loss. Tampa Bay (2-3), does have a shot at the playoff. Tampa Bay had a great win! Jimmie Giles had three carries for 198 yards with a hundred yard touchdown, and Ricky Bell had 63 yards rushing with a touchdown! Tampa Bay plays division rival Atlanta in their last two games, and Kansas City is at New Orleans.
  19. (1943-2020) DENVER STUNNED IN WEEK FIVE UPSET BY SAINTS! Mile High Stadium was an outdoor multi-purpose stadium located in Denver, Colorado. The stadium was built in 1948 to accommodate the Denver Bears baseball team, which was a member of the Western League during its construction. Originally designed as a baseball venue, the stadium was expanded in later years to accommodate the addition of a professional football team to the city, the Denver Broncos, as well as to improve Denver's hopes of landing a Major League Baseball team. Although the stadium was originally built as a baseball-specific venue, it became more popular as a pro-football stadium despite hosting both sports for a majority of its life. DENVER BRONCOS: Paddy Brannigan (8-9) NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: Kevin "MAC" Maloney (7-11) WEEK#5 THE COUNTDOWN: We take every single game in the Long Island Electric Football seriously, regardless of the team's record, or the coaches skill level. They are treated with respect and professionalism like an organization. In today's match-up, Denver Broncos (2-2) Coach Paddy Brannigan (8-9), plays against Kevin "Mac" Maloney's (7-11), New Orleans Saints (1-3) in a very interesting matchup. These two are best friends until they play electric football. The last three seasons have been very difficult on the Saints because after finishing strong at the end of the season, they are in the doghouse this season, with a horrible schedule that has given them too many setbacks. New Orleans defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week#1 to open the season back in July when we first started the Long Island Electric Football League 2020 season. In that game they won 17-14. New Orleans running back Reggie Bush had 147 yards in kick returns in that game and a 55-yard touchdown catch, and the Saints defense looked outstanding carrying over from 2019. Then the offense disappeared. They lost to Las Vegas 10-3, Green Bay 14-10, and Detroit 21-14, and although they were close games, the Saints have not performed like the franchise New Orleans Saints who won LIEFL-Super Bowl VIII, against Miami in 1991-92, 26-20 in overtime. That was long ago in the league, but the Saints needs to get back to the basics. Reggie Bush has been carrying the team with 735 yards and three touchdowns on 39 carries, but they are playing against a very competitive Denver Broncos defense today. Denver is another team with a great history at 104-62-1, Ranked #3 All-Time in the LIEFL! Last year the Broncos played great football and they nearly made the playoffs, but lost in the season finale to the Los Angeles Chargers 14-13! This year running back Terrell Davis has been the most explosive back in the AFC, he's been incredible! He may be the best running back ever for the Broncos, dating back to the great Rob Lytle. Davis has just 32 carries for 1085 yards, with nine touchdowns, and five of those touchdowns were 100-yard kick returns. He has lit it up, especially at Mile High Stadium in Denver, where the Broncos are undefeated this season! The Broncos front three on the line have been dominant with Paul Smith, Karl Mecklenburg, and Neil Smith. They beat Tennessee 24-21, lost to Pittsburgh 17-14 in a war, beat Tampa Bay 21-14, and then they lost to the New York Jets 24-21 in overtime. They are in the hunt to make the playoffs this season, and they have home field advantage today, and next week. Next week, the Broncos play Buffalo, and then they play the Raiders at Las Vegas in their last game of the season, which may be the determining factor as to whether or not they will be a playoff team in 2020, for the first time since 1991-92. Denver lost in that 1991-92 season in the AFC Divisional Championship Game to a great offensive Cleveland team, 28-17! The Broncos are a historic team in this league. They are the only Long Island Electric Football League team, other than the Miami Dolphins, to have an undefeated regular season. Their only loss came to Buffalo in the 1982-83 season, in a huge upset in the AFC Divisional Championship Game 28-27! They will have some emotion for the Bills next week because they have never forgotten that loss as a franchise. The same two coaches for Denver and Miami, who were 19 years-old at that time, coach Billy O'C and Paddy Brannigan, still play with the same teams today in 2020! These Broncos are better than that team! "BUYER BEWARE" ... That's Coach Kevin Maloney's logo on his personal game field for his New Orleans Saints. He said, "This game will not be some easy win for Denver. My New Orleans team is a playoff crusher for teams seeking entry into the road less traveled in the league. We are getting better each week, and I am working hard to get this team to the next level." Brannigan loves the Saints so at the end of the year Maloney said, he might cave in and trade both his Saints and Raiders for Brannigan's Seahawks and Steelers, his two favorite teams. Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee and Game Day Analyst Andrew Slawson of Slawson's Corner said, "The Broncos might get into the playoffs, but it may very well take a victory in Las Vegas to do it. If they do get into the playoffs, they are a dangerous team. It all depends on Terrell Davis' play in the next three games. Teams have collapsed at the end when the pressure builds up. It's all about the coaching, and Brannigan has been great. Just look at what he has done with the LIEFL-Chicago Bears who have made a title wave in the NFC competition pool." THE PLAY-BY-PLAY: New Orleans Saints (1-3) vs. Denver Broncos (2-2) On the exciting opening kick return Denver Broncos running back, Terrell Davis took the ball back 54-yards to the New Orleans Saints 46- yard line. On first down Davis gained eight yards on the play, but New Orleans looked to be prepared. On second down the Broncos lost what they gained on first down, forcing a pass play on fourth down, where the New Orleans Saints defense came up huge stopping the Broncos at their own 48-yard line and turning the ball over to these Saints with 8:06 left to go in the half! WOW, the Saints mean business! It's unbelievable that the Broncos were stopped on fourth down and it puts them in a precarious situation. On first down for the Saints Reggie Bush was dropped behind the line of scrimmage by Karl Mecklenburg the Broncos hard-hitting defensive end. On the very next play Bush exploded around the right side for a 49-yard touchdown run with 4:53 to go in the half, 7-0, New Orleans takes the lead! We watched this game unfold as the New Orleans Saints make a statement. They could potentially destroy Denver's playoff hopes and further, could this be a situation where Denver and Coach Brannigan looked too far ahead? That's something you cannot do in this league. Terrell Davis returned his second kick return, this one for 61-yards, giving the Broncos great field position! On first down, Davis ran to the right side for a 5-yard pickup with 1:31 left to go in the half. On the next play, Davis exploded around the right side of the Saints defense for a 34-yard touchdown run to tie the score 7-7, with 1:04 left to go in the half on a beautiful play! New Orleans running back, Reggie Bush returned the ball 41-yards for the Saints and he was tackled and Randy Gradishar on a hard hit has the first half came to a close! To start the second half, on a beautiful run Reggie Bush ran a 24-yard play to the Denver 35-yard line. This Saints team came to play today. That has been the talk of the town about New Orleans. The Saints seem to play great against the great teams, but they have been criticized that they don't play at the same level against the weak teams in the league. They seem to run out of steam and lose those games they should win, but today the Broncos look sloppy and they are a little out of sync. On the next play the Broncos rose to the occasion as Reggie Bush was tackled hard by All-Pro William Roaf, losing a yard. On second down Bush got stuffed again for no yards, bringing up third down with 10:40 left to go in the game. The Broncos had to keep a very close eye on New Orleans tight end, Jeremy Shockey their star receiver. The Saints were not about to back down on third down. Quarterback Drew B r e e s connected on a great pass to Bush, who took it 36-yards down the sideline to score another New Orleans Saints touchdown to make the score 14-7, New Orleans takes the lead with 7:50 left to go in the game! Again, WOW! Reggie Bush is having a great day as the Saints once again try to become the 2020 season spoilers, but you can bet that the Broncos will play to the last second! On the ensuing kickoff, Terrell Davis exploded for a hundred yard kick return to tie the score at 14-14, with 6:39 left to go in the game and just like that we are tied! What an amazing run by Davis as he ran back his sixth 100-yard kick return of the season! Suddenly, there was tremendous excitement in the air with the score tied and clock running at 5:47, Reggie Bush set in the end zone with a potential upset in the making! And Bush on the kick return is hit hard by Neil Smith at the 34-yard line with 5:02 left to go in the game. Coach Maloney was going to try to abuse the clock and that's something that usually causes an uproar in this league so that the Saints can run the time out of Denver. On first down Reggie Bush took off for a 15-yard gain to the Denver 46-yard line and the Broncos were in trouble with 3:06 left to go in the game, with the clock winding down! This will be the biggest win of the year for the Saints if they pull the victory off. Coach Brannigan will be searching for answers as to what went wrong with the Broncos offensive line who failed to execute. On first down for the Saints, Rubin Carter tackled Reggie Bush in the backfield for a 6-yard loss. And on the very next play On an amazing catch by Marcus Colston grabbed a gorgeous Drew Brees pass as Coltson ran the ball 42-yards for the first down to the Denver 10 yard line! That was enough for the field-goal from the 10-yard yard line in a major upset for the New Orleans Saints as they do exactly what they always set out to do, crush the playoff hopes of other teams! Denver collapses! Coach Brannigan is beyond upset as the New Orleans Saints win the game 17-14, and they remain in the fight in the playoff hunt! Anything can happen, especially after watching them dismantle Denver! These NFC teams are powerful! The Denver Broncos (2-3), have to figure out who they want to be after this loss. They are not out of it yet, but they sure did make it very difficult on themselves to climb that Mile High Mountain back into the race for a playoff bid. On a bright note, Terrell Davis totaled 262 yards on 8 carries, with two touchdowns, including his 6th 100-yard kick return for a touchdown. New Orleans (2-3), is back in business as Reggie Bush exploded for 199 yards, with two touchdowns! Bush was multi-purpose with 36 yards receiving and a touchdown, 75 yards rushing, and 88 yards on kick returns!
  20. NIGHT WINLESS 49ERS BEATEN BY RAMS IN OT! Levi's Stadium is an American football stadium located in Santa Clara, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has served as the home venue for the National Football League's San Francisco 49ers since 2014. The stadium is located approximately 40 miles south of San Francisco and is named for Levi Strauss & Co., which purchased naming rights in 2013. THE COUNTDOWN: October 3, 2020. Santa Clara, California. In the Long Island Electric football league we are learning that the Los Angeles Rams (3-1) are a very unique and distinct team as Week #5 has illustrated just how important these games are. The battles are heating up in the journey to make it to this year's playoffs. This Rams team is one that coach Billy OC has working in synergy, in running, special teams, defense, and an offensive line to talk about. He builds winners. Did it in Miami for years, and in Buffalo, and now the Rams in the LIEFL. The fabulous five Rams front line is special because they've won two consecutive Long Island Electric Football League consecutive Super Bowls. The Miami Dolphins are the only team in this league's 49 year history who can say that! At the beginning of the season we thought this was going to be a playoff making or breaking game for both of these teams because the 2020 winless San Francisco 49ers, coached by Ed Viggs were the favorite to win the NFC, but they were upset by this Los Angeles Rams team, so this game is a game of pride! Since the 49ers have the advantage at their home field, the uphill battle today will be on the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Viggs said, "Losing that game last season against LA, is something I really don't want to think about, but I have to because I cannot seem to figure this Los Angeles Rams team out. Electric football is unique in that each coach and each league develops their own representation of what they think is a strategy. We don't know if our teams are really that great until we compete against other teams from other leagues, but we do have to say, statistically the league is driven by good hard data. Last year Ricky Watters rushed for 925 yards, which is a Long Island Electric Football League record. I'd like to see that Watters back on the field here today competing. It's all I want from my teams, win or lose, but at least complete. This is an embarrassment being 0-5 with a very good football team. I know it doesn't sound right but I know that I can play anyone in the country with this team. We have had horrible brakes. I'm playing the same type of football with the same players and for some reason I'm not getting the same results. That tells me how strong this league grows every year and what we had last year almost becomes obsolete. I am not saying electric football will ever be the NFL of course, but it is sort of like an NFL mentality, because the draft has become such a popular and important thing in our league that it allows our league to keep getting better and better. Today, my plan is to get Ricky Watters and Jerry Rice more involved in the game. I feel like I have not given Rice the ball enough. He's a proven track player who can put on the after burners and contribute more to the team. Rice seems to be the only one having a decent season for my 49ers. Coach Billy O'C on the other hand said, "This Rams team is hungry! We're battling every week against some great teams in this league and amazing coaches, and this game is special because it's a division rival and records don't matter, Viggs will be in the game until the last second, so I have to get them into overtime. My guys have really performed at a different level this season and the reason I say that is because we've won some games on the road! Beating the Buffalo Bills on their home turf was a huge motivation booster for us. Coach Bino played with my Bills that day, but I know they are a great test for this Rams team. But we're not finished! This is really just the beginning, and that's the way my guys are looking at every game. You can't call a team a dynasty if they win one Super Bowl. I'm not even sure if you can call a team of dynasty if they win a second Super Bowl, but a third Super Bowl? That would be what I would consider a dynasty team, and that is the aim for my team. We're going to un-turn every stone and every team viciously until we get what we're looking for. That's true about life too, because goal setting is a very important part of life, and while this is just a hobby, electric football and the attitude I play with filters down to the way I feel as a professional. I am never satisfied with my position in life, and rather than blame the world, I take the world on and always strive for excellence! My friends are my hero's!" There are some real Stars playing in this game today with the hopes that they will all rise to the occasion and make this a tremendous game to remember in Week#5. THE PLAY BY PLAY: Los Angeles Rams (3-1) vs San Francisco 49ers (0-4) What a buildup of excitement to this game as Jerry Rice took the opening kickoff back 40-yards, and one play later Ricky Watters showed why he's an All-Pro, regardless of the record of the team. Watters stormed down field with a blazing 60-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-0 49ers, with 13:13 left to go in the half! WOW, what an electrifying run by Watters! There was already a feeling that this was going to be an explosive matchup with a lot of pushing and shoving going on by San Francisco's offensive line. Looks like the 49ers are finally tuned up after four straight weeks of losing. Something is bound to give, and it looks like this coach and his team are taking their frustration out on the right team in LA. The Rams as usual, are very poised. Coach Billy O'C complimented Coach Viggs on a great run by Watters, who took it right through the center hole of the Rams line, while the clock ticked away. On the opening kickoff for Los Angeles, "The Reverand" Isaac Bruce collided with San Francisco's Dwight Clark at the 50-yard line! Clark has been making great plays the entire season on special teams for San Francisco. On first down Rams running back Wendell Tyler took over, as we watched the "Fabulous-Five" offensive line of the Rams go to work, which consists of Deacon Jones, Rosy Grier, Jackie Slater, Chris Long, and Merlin Olsen. This beautiful looking team was originally painted two seasons ago when the Rams won their first LIEFL Super Bowl. On first down, Harris Barton made a great tackle for the 49ers on Tyler. On second down the Rams gained 5-yards of the 8 yards they lost on first down, with 8:43 left to go in the half, bringing up a third down for Los Angeles. On the next play, Los Angeles quarterback Jared Goff threw a rocket to Isaac Bruce over the middle of the field and Bruce took it 53-yards on third down into the end-zone to tie the score 7-7, with 6:50 remaining in the half on an outstanding play by the Rams! For Coach Vigg's 49ers, it's not so much that they've played bad football. They've had some bad breaks and in this league in 2020. You need a little bit of luck especially when you're in four overtime games. These 49ers started the season out on the wrong foot losing their first game to Arizona 17-14 in overtime, and it all went downhill from there. They just collapsed, leaving Coach Viggs to find the answer to getting this team to perform up to par. Jerry Rice's second kick return for 46 yards put Rice at 86-yards for the day, with 5:15 left to go in a half. San Francisco couldn't get anything going on first down as Ricky Waters was turned around at the line of scrimmage for a one yard loss past the line of scrimmage. On the next play, the 49ers front line opened a beautiful hole for Watters and he exploded 20-yards to the Los Angeles 34-yard line, with 1:59 to go to end the half. Somehow, Coach Viggs had his 49ers rise to the occasion here on a beautiful run by Watters, who already has 80 yards rushing on the day. Watters ran for three straight first downs as the 49ers advanced the ball to the Los Angeles 18-yard line with 32 seconds left to go in the half! This is the best San Francisco has looked all season long as the first half came to a close with the score tied at 7-7! To open the second half, Ricky Watters ran the ball to the two-yard line as he hit 112-yards rushing in the game! Coach Viggs 49ers front-line beat up on the best team in the league! You know what they say, "on any given day" it's anybody's game, and that's the definition of a great League, which seems to be the case today. We have a winless team performing against one of the best teams in the league. Coaching matters! On the next play, this time on first down, the Rams defense did their job, stepping-up and stopping the running back Ricky Watters, for a huge 15-yard loss, bringing the ball back to the 17-yard line of San Francisco with 12:03 remaining in the game. In any League the 49ers would be a contender! We haven't seen the best of them this year, but today is a different story. And on second down, Ricky Watters was turned around again to the 11-yard line, forcing a third down pass play for quarterback Joe Montana, and this is where the Rams can be really tough, but we could already see LA's Coach Billy O'C's strategy was to get this game into overtime to gain the chance to beat San Francisco. And on a poor play by Coach Viggs, Los Angeles All-Pro Free-Safety Nolan Cromwell sacked Montana on third down at the 40-yard line, making a tremendous play, giving San Francisco a 28-yard loss on the play! This is exactly what we just talking about with the Rams, mistakes lose games. The 49ers were forced to kick a 40-yard field-goal as they have to settle for a 10-7 lead, with 7:50 remaining in the game! This has been a fierce battle and you can see that these two coaches are intensely focused. Billy O'C jumped in the air on the sack and these mistakes are not common for a coach who has earned the reputation as "The master of preparation" in this league in Coach Viggs. Viggs looks very upset. On the kickoff to Los Angeles, Isaac Bruce took the kickoff back 40-yards and he was hit hard by Harris Barton, for Barton's second tackle of the day on a great return with nowhere to run for Bruce. The Rams have not been able to run the ball at all today. The only person who has had considerable yardage in the game for Los Angeles is Isaac Bruce, and that's why he is so invaluable because when the machine is broken down, he is the only guy who's going to pick up the pieces. The synergy and teamwork for these Rams is incredible. They are far from a great team, but they play great together! On first down, Wendell Tyler finally exploded for 21-yards for the first down, carrying the ball to the 49ers 39-yard line, and this Rams offense was showing their worth. They're at the point in the game where this is when they need to transform the running attack. Coach Viggs switched things around on his line because he knows he cannot afford to give up huge runs like that. Billy O'C was trying to control that clock and that might be a difficult thing to do, but he is at his best. On first down for LA, Tyler was stopped at the line of scrimmage at the 39-yard line. On second down, 49er's defensive tackle Chris Doleman made a beautiful play for an 11-yard loss, forcing a third down play coming up for the Rams. The San Francisco 49ers have played a terrific football game today. They've had a very impressive outing with lots of compliments by O'C to Viggs with 1:05 left to go in the game! And on the last play of regulation, running back Wendell Tyler grabbed a beautiful pass from Jared Goff for a 31-yard gain to the 19-yard line! This is Rams football, teamwork! The Rams ran out of time and they were forced to kick the game tying field-goal to make the score, 10-10! We are going into overtime! Unbelievable! The Rams won the overtime coin toss! Simply unbelievable! The expression of humiliation on Coach Vigg's face said it all as his team was looking at a winless record going into week six. Coach Viggs lost his cool a little bit. On the overtime kick return Isaac Bruce took the ball back 51-yards on a beautiful run as he was met by 49ers lineman, Randy Cross and Ken Norton Jr. Coach Viggs had a few choice words for the Rams. As alternate coach last year, Viggs played with Billy O'C's Rams against Billy O'C's Dolphins in the LIEFL Super Bowl, which Viggs won $750 and a Super Bowl ring and trophy. Viggs called the Rams traitors. O'C has taught this Rams team how to win. If they win this game they are an amazing 21-5 in their last 25 games. On first down Tyler picked up eight yards, bringing the ball to the San Francisco 40-yard line, as the front line for the Rams went to work on a worn down 49ers defense. On second down, Tyler ran for another nine-yards to the 31-yard line for another first down for the Rams. Tyler picked up another four yards carrying the ball to the 27-yard line, and the 49ers will not quit, as the 49ers front-line did a spectacular job stopping a prolific running back. What always amazes us about a league is how when it comes to division rivals they play almost like they do in the NFL, with a grudge! It's just a tremendous battle between these two teams regardless of their records. On the next play the Rams readied the pass. The 49ers set up their defense man to man as Isaac Bruce pulled off an electrifying play, breaking free from the 49ers coverage for a Los Angeles Rams 27-yard game-winning touchdown to make the score 16-10 in 7:30 overtime! WOW! The Los Angeles Rams (4-1) win the game! What an incredible game for Isaac Bruce who finished the day with six carries and 268 total yards with two touchdowns! The Rams are on fire as they eliminate the San Francisco 49ers (0-5), from the post-season! Coach Billy O'C pointed the one finger! Coach Viggs was dejected. Los Angeles plays the red-hot New York Jets (3-2) at home, and San Francisco travels to play the red-hot Dallas Cowboys (3-2)! No team is safe! We are running a league on all-cylinders. The competition is only getting better each week!
  21. What do we do on game day?
  22. Correction we are sorry but the writer from the losing team got one thing wrong he put the name of the other quarterback from the Titans on his Colts.
