  6. We tried to go all out with the newsletter, the game build up, and the post game but the Green Bay Packers are only the second team since 2008 to win nine games and in this league we feel that's a really hard thing to do. It was hard to watch Miami lose on the last play of the game. The only team that Green Bay lost to was the Chicago bears and I predict that the bears will go five and two next season they are another one of those teams who have really benefited from the draft.
  7. Thank you so much my brother! I have to say those Green Bay Packers are pretty incredible they had the magic touch and you got to give credit when credit is due! That was a terrific Super bowl it reminded me of the 2008 Super bowl between the raiders and the Giants that we had when Dave Casper started the game with 100-yard kick return and then he ended the game with 100-yd kick return to win the game in overtime! But we could not stop Sterling Sharpe and he deserved all the credit in the world because what he did was magical! the first time ever that Green Bay won a Super bowl in our league and I can't thank you enough for giving us the recognition in the museum and we will be forever grateful to you. We are thinking about making a Facebook page or if you don't mind we could just post on your page but then we'd have to have an account and none of us have accounts LOL
  8. STERLING SHARPE UNSTOPPABLE AS PACKERS BEAT DOLPHINS IN LIEFL SUPER BOWL XVI THRILLER 52-49! Long Island Electric Football League Super Bowl XVI MVP Green Bay Packers Sterling Sharpe (Above) runs back his electrifying game winning 100 yard touchdown run as Green Bay went on to win their first ever LIEFL Super Bowl 52-49, in one of the most thrilling and intense championship games of all-time! Sharpe finished the day with a heroic 530 all-purpose yards, with four touchdowns, including two 100 yard touchdown runs! December 27, 2020. Coquina Key Florida. It has been an amazing year for the Long Island Electric Football League. Super is the right word for the 50 carries 1393 total yards, and 12 action packed touchdowns scored between the now AFC Miami Dolphins (8-3), and the underdog NFC Green Bay Packers (9-1), in Long Island Electric Football League's Super Bowl XVI, between two of our best coaches! Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe walked away with LIEFL-Super Bowl XVI MVP honors! Sharpe shined as he lit up the scoreboard with a historic 530 total yards, with four touchdowns, two of them for 100 yards, including the game winning, thrilling 100 yard touchdown with 29 seconds left in the game, with the Packers trailing 49-46, with no timeouts left for Miami, beating the Dolphins 52-49 in a thunderous, roaring Super Bowl! The game was intense and exhilarating! It was filled with roars, and huge surprises as Sharpe and the Packers were just as magical as the Miami Dolphins career in this league. LIEFL host Ray Negron said, "It was Green Bay's night, and any league that can last 49 years in a hobby is a night to be respected." LIEFL-Coach Ed Viggs (23-11), walked away with a $750 payday, a ring, and he will receive a trophy as well for the second straight year after this memorable and incredible game over Coach Billy O'C (22-11)! They say, "The third time is a charm" but the Green Bay Packers and Coach Ed Viggs have taken criticism all season long regarding his Packers. Viggs silently did his talking on the scoreboard by not backing down an inch to a high-octane offense against my Dolphins. He played absolutely flawless!" Green Bay scored just 74 points this season, so what happened and how did they pull this off? Coach Ed Viggs said, "Sorry, I don't give my strategies away, but never think anything is impossible, and that goes for life too. These coaches trashed my team all year long and that motivated me more than you know for this game. These Packers put on a clinic tonight in how to win the biggest game of their career, how about that Sterling Sharpe? Hooyah!" What an exciting opening kickoff as Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe, the NFC Championship Game MVP, picked up where he left off last game, this time returning the ball 85 yards to the Miami 15-yard line to open the game for Green Bay! Miami's defense stood tall on first down, stopping running back Packers running back Terdell Middleton, pushing him back 15 yards on the first two two plays, but on third down big Jim Taylor, the unsung hero found an open field and scored a 30-yard touchdown on a pass from Aaron Rodgers, to give Green Bay the lead 7-0 with 9:13 left to go in the first quarter! The energy was buzzing in Coquina! The excitement was overwhelming as AFC Championship Game MVP Mark Duper opened the Dolphins scoring drive with a hundred yard kick return to ignite Super Bowl XVI, tying the score at 7-7, with 7:58 remaining in the first quarter! Holy Cow! What a run! WOW! WOW! After a gorgeous 54-yard kick return by Sterling Sharpe, fullback Jim Taylor on first down ran the ball 46 yards into the end zone to give Green Bay the lead 14-7, with 4:47 left to go in the first quarter and the Packers are on fire! Miami is in for a game as the Green Bay offense came to finish off what they started last week against Washington! Coach Viggs must have saw something in the Dolphins game last week against the Chargers because he's taking advantage of any soft spot he can find, and while many Fernandez is an excellent player Green Bay's All-Pro defensive tackle, Forrest Gregg out-schooled Fernandez by trapping him inside the line on that last play while Taylor ran outside for the touchdown. What a great play and great coaching! Mark Duper blazed 61 yards downfield on the ensuing kickoff as the two minute warning sounded for Miami at the 39 yard line of Green Bay. On first down Mercury Morris ran 19 yards to the Green Bay 19-yard line, and Morris was hit hard by Packers All-Pro linebacker Ray Nitschke, who's had an amazing year making himself a fiercely respected player in the NFC. What a great atmosphere to play a game in, especially a Super Bowl! To begin the second quarter, the Green Bay defense kicked in as the Dolphins lost five yards on the play. After being stopped on first and second down, quarterback Dan Marino hit Mercury Morris on a 29-yard slant pass for a touchdown to tie the game at 14-14, with 11:39 remaining in the half! On the next kickoff for Green Bay, Sterling Sharpe returned the ball for 35 yards. Miami stopped Jim Taylor on the first two runs, but on third down, Middleton was wide open on a great pass by Rodgers, after the Packers lost almost 20 yards, and Middleton blazed 74 yards downfield to the Miami 13yard line with 5:30 remaining in the half! What an explosive play! On first down Middleton failed to pick up any rushing yardage and on second down he was stuffed six yards behind the line of scrimmage, caught in the backfield by Miami defender Mark Clayton at the Dolphins 22-yard line, with 2:32 remaining in the half. The excitement was endless. On an absolutely amazing play Aaron Rodgers threw a rocket into the end zone to a wide open Sterling Sharpe for the touchdown! Coach Viggs and the Packers explode on the Dolphins! go for a two-point conversion. After the Jim Taylor two-point conversion from two yards away Green Bay took the lead 22-14 with 1:21 remaining one of the best first half's of the playoffs! Miami called their first time out of the half with one more remaining. On the kick return Jim Taylor and Sterling Sharpe, the two rising Stars for the Packers, saved the day tackling Mark Duper with an open field ahead of him at the 38-yard line as Miami called their last time out of the half with one minute remaining. The next play for Miami was spectacular! Mercury Morris broke free at the Dolphins 38-yard line on a pass from Marino taking it 62 yards into the end zone for a Miami touchdown! And from two yards away, Dolphins fullback Larry Csonka scored to tie the game 22-22, with 20 seconds left and Green Bay called their first time out, with one remaining. As time was running out Sterling Sharpe returned a 35 yard kickoff. And with 11 seconds left Green Bay called their last time out! Sharpe caught a 9-yard pass from Rodgers as time ran out with a score tied 22-22 at the half. In the LIEFL, coaches are not allowed to kick a field goal beyond 60 yards, and time ran out on the Packers in order to do that after the catch. What an amazing first half of football with the score, Miami 22-Green Bay 22! The first half was perfect! It was very exciting with the two teams about evenly matched. Jim Taylor came up big for the Packers scoring two touchdowns in the first half and for the Dolphins Mark Duper's hundred yard kick return grew the intensity of the game, but Green Bay matched the Dolphins! Mercury Morris had two touchdowns in the first half setting up a beautiful highly anticipated third quarter. To start the third quarter Miami's Mark duper exploded on a 47 yard kick return to set up the Dolphins running game. Miami got going immediately in the third quarter as Mercury Morris on first down, took it around the right end for 53 yards into the end zone to make the score 28-22, with 13:23 remaining in the third quarter! Csonka scored on another two-point conversion for the Dolphins to make this a 30-22 game, Dolphins in the lead, with 11:22 remaining in the third quarter! Oh baby! Sterling Sharpe changed the mood of the game again, exploding on a hundred yard kick return to light up the scoreboard 30-28! These Packers are not backing down, as Sharpe's spectacular run gives this place something to roar about! What a play! The place is going crazy as Coach Billy O'C looks flustered! On the kick return "Super Duper" took it back 60 yards. And on first and second down Morris ran for 17, and then 15 yards, as Miami took the ball to the Green Bay 8 yard line with 3:23 remaining in the third quarter as coach Billy OC worked the clock. This has been a spectacular strategic game. On the following play, Morris scored his third touchdown of the game from 8 yards away to give Miami the lead again 36-30, with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter! The Dolphins will go for the two-point conversion. The way the clock works for the two-point conversion in the LIEFL is the clock stops until both teams set up. Once both teams are set, the clock starts again. Miami has played like a powerhouse on offense and the team criticized the most this season was the Packers for their offense, but not today! Green Bay is right there with Miami hanging tough on every play. Morris caught a rocket from Marino for the two point conversion to give Miami the lead 38-30 with 2:16 left to go in the third quarter! On the ensuing kick return, Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe exploded for 69 yards to keep his team in the game. Sharpe has come a long way in the past two seasons, but these playoffs has made him a star! He's been nothing less than outstanding, as the two minute warning wound the third quarter down with Miami ahead of Green Bay. Miami's offensive line has been terrific today but there's no denying that Green Bay has been just as good as the Miami Dolphins, who looked for their seventh LIEFL-Super Bowl title! On the following play, the Packers were forced to pass on second down, losing 15 yards on the play before at their own 47 yard line. Dolphins All-Pro defensive end Jason Taylor, made a tremendous stop on Middleton. And now Green Bay is forced to come up with an answer on second down as the third quarter came to a close! We are on to our final quarter of LIEFL-Super Bowl XVI, with the score Miami 38-Green Bay 30! When play picked up again, Terdell Middleton tore it up to begin the fourth quarter with a 36-yard first down, bringing the ball to the Miami 12-yard line with 14:16 remaining in the game. There will be no quitting today from this Green Bay team, and Miami hasn't been able to get an inch off of the Packer defense. On a stunning play coach Viggs pulled off a huge 12-yard touchdown on a quarterback sneak to tie the game after the two-point conversion by Middleton making the score 38-38 with 12:15 remaining in the game! What brilliance! WOW! We all know in this league how hard it is to get to this point, where you work so hard as a coach to get here and these two fierce competitors Viggs and O'C will never give into each other with the score tied 38-38 on second down for Miami! The Dolphins are just rolling ahead with another 13-yard pickup by Morris. Miami keeps pushing through the Green Bay defense, and two plays later the Dolphins were at the Packers 40 yard line with 5:21 remaining in the game. On another explosive run by Morris, he ran thru the left side of the line for a 40-yard touchdown run! What a play! On the two-point conversion, Mark Clayton broke free at the two-yard line to catch the two-point conversion in the end zone, giving Miami the lead 46-38, with 3:40 remaining in the game, and this one is going to end in a nail-biting thriller because the Packers are not finished yet! On the next kick return Sharpe was clobbered at the 35-yard line by Duper with 2:27 remaining, with the pressure mounting. We are down to the final two minutes of the game as the two minute warning sounded off! And Coach Viggs and the Packers are going to go for it all has Don Hutson broke free at the Green Bay 35-yard line from Mark Duper again for the first down! On the next play, the No-Quit Packers Sterling Sharpe caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the end zone to make the score 46-44, with 1:14 remaining in the game! That was Sharpes third touchdown of the game in this thriller! With time running out and no timeouts left the Dolphins ran the ball 56 yards on the kick return from Mark Duper, and they were forced to kick a field goal, giving Miami back the lead 49-44! The pressure is on the Packers! Oh my God! With the game on the line, the pressure overboiling, the place roaring with just 29 seconds left on the clock with no timeouts left for Miami, Green Bay's Sterling Sharpe exploded for 100 yard touchdown on the last play of the game to give the Green Bay Packers theior first ever LIEFL Super Bowl victory! This place has exploded with a huge roar as we witnessed one of the greatest Super Bowl finishes of all time, with the Green Bay Packers (9-1) defeating the returning AFC Champion Miami Dolphins 52-49 in dramatic fashion! All year the Packers have played spectacular football and today they beat a fantastic football team! Sterling Sharpe earned LIEFL-Super Bowl XVI MVP, and the Packers are going wild! What a Super Bowl! The key to the game was scoring because there was no stopping these two perfectly matched teams in this game. Sterling Sharpe finished the day with 11 carries for stunning 530 yards with four touchdowns, with two thrilling 100 yard touchdowns, one of them drowned the Dolphins! Coach Billy OC said, "We came here ready for this game but so did Viggs and the Packers, and that is what this hobby and Super Bowl should be all about, sportsmanship, class and artistry of the craft. Viggs is a big game professional. He's also the $750 winner. What a game!" Coach Viggs said, "I've played in a lot of great games but this one stole the cake of the best game I have ever played in! Sterling Sharpe was the difference, he did so much on his own with the desire for success, and today we proved to this league that we can play with anybody. We are the Cinderella team of 2020, and I can't wait until next season! That was one of the best electric football games I ever played. Yeah baby, how about them Packers!" 12. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LIEFL SUPERBOWL XVI will be played on Sunday December 27, 2020. PLUGGED IN with Coach Matt McQueen. It was a lot of fun writing these articles, not always grammatically correct, but nevertheless, we put the records out there, and it was a huge undertaking for the losing team to have to write articles, but we decided to do it for the love of the hobby, to put on display the magic we all experience in bringing electric football and our heroes to life through these plastic figures. We decided as a league we won't be doing it next year because the league is not as interesting to people as we thought, and we are totally fine with that. The show must go on in our 50th year next season! This Long Island Electric Football Super Bowl XVI, really does have a Florida Super Bowl feel to it. It might be the unforeseen matchup of the year when the re-engineered Miami Dolphins (8-2) and Green Bay Packers (8-1) take the field. For league Commissioner Billy O'C, BOC, who also resides in Coquina in the winter. The Dolphins are on the verge of winning their 7th Long Island Electric Football League Super Bowl! As the #1 All-Time win team in our league with 151 wins with 36 losses, this will be a game! The history and the roots are all here because Green Bay is some stiff competition. They too, with their win over Washington in the NFC Divisional Championship Team made it their 100th victory! That is a great feat in any league, and we have the records of every game to prove it, even from our younger day handwriting! RICH HISTORY: BOC said, "I am so pumped up for this game. I can win some cash too! I remember as kids in that Miami 28-3 win on December 7, 1978, in Super Bowl III over Green Bay. That 1978 season, Miami went (13-1), and they scored an LIEFL leading 239 offensive points, giving up only 93 points in 14 games. They had 32 touchdowns that season and our original Mercury Morris had 143 carries for 2943 yards with 29 touchdowns, but Green Bay's Terdell Middleton wasn't far off. He was the #2 leading all-purpose player with 122 carries for 1934 yards, with 18 touchdowns! That season Green Bay went (8-6) but they had huge upsets over the league leading Minnesota Vikings 14-2, who were (13-1), and the Denver Broncos 14-10, who were (12-3)! In those days, our Broncos played in the NFC. For The Miami-Green Bay Super Bowl, we played on the back stoop of my childhood home outdoors in the cold. It was so cool! This electric football stuff is a game for the ages. The teams we build, work with tirelessly to get to this point, makes us feel like we really have something at stake. I love the Packers and what Coach Viggs has done with them because I too, did the same over the past three seasons with this new generation Miami team. We will beat Green Bay and they are in for a rude awakening Sunday." file:///C:/Users/willi/Downloads/229008182_1978LongIslandElectricFootballStandings%20(10).pdf Coach Viggs said, "As a kid I didn't know football the way I do now. I have planned and planned for this game like a General's last stand, but I have obstacles to overcome. We get the ball first, and we have to really work the clock. I pass better than O'C, who is an average coach who cannot pass or make the big pass plays. All he has on me is the running game, but I have a few things in mind today to stop that. If I can force the pass, watch out baby! It's all about the matchups. I have great faith in my team. We know Duper had 523 yards last Super Bowl, but that was against the Rams, we are the Packers! Our defense is #1 in the LIEFL for a reason. I built them to stop teams like the Rams and Dolphins. So here we are. We have won some big games, and beating Washington with that tough defense showed me we should be here. We belong here. We respect Miami, but we have to make them respect us early on." The difference between this team and the LIEFL Dolphins teams of the 70's is Mark Duper. Mercury Morris used to get the ball on almost every play in the past, and now he shares those duties and responsibilities with other players and that is what makes this team so food. They are a four-punch team. Over the past two seasons making it to the AFC Championship Game and winning after being absent from the big show for so long, this Dolphins team is well rounded. The league has undergone extreme competitive changes due to our draft, and it has become necessary to be that four punch team which means great passing, running, special teams, and a defense that wins games. Last year Miami lost the Los Angeles Rams in overtime in LIEFL-Super Bowl XV, 44-41. Miami has not stopped winning! They have improved each game but not without questions. After losing 18 games for three seasons the Dolphins have come back strong, and some say stronger than ever, with 15 wins in the last two seasons. That's a lot of winning and Coach Billy OC said, "It took a lot to rebuild this team and I just couldn't watch them be destroyed by every team in the league in one of the most humbling experiences in my fun times as an electric football coach. But I got some great draft picks and one of them is Mark Duper who changed the way teams around the league have to play us." Don't forget, Duper had over 500 yards in last year's Super Bowl, and he is on fire! Dolphins lineman Jason Taylor has been nothing less than sensational and O'C has two tackles in Manny Fernandez and AJ Duhe, who are going to give Colin Cole and Forrest Gregg a huge challenge. The matchup between the Packers front line and Dolphins front line should be a very good one. Miami Lineman Larry little can hang with anybody in the league, and so can Jason Taylor who has a whopping ten tackles and a sack. Coach Paddy Brannigan, who also has a home in Florida said, "I really like the matchups and I put nothing past coach Viggs because he is the best coach in our league. The difference between him and O'C is planning. It's not good enough that he plays against a great coach, you need to be fully prepared for Viggs because he is a "mental approach" which you have to be ready for. I was shocked that I lost with Washington against Green Bay and I still think Washington is the better team. That opening NFCDG kickoff by Sterling Sharpe, in many ways was the beginning of the end for me. It gave Viggs the momentum, but the Packers made the big plays early on and we couldn't cover the points. I thought Tony Green played sensational too in our loss. This guy Viggs, has an action for every reaction, and execution will be the difference in the game. Viggs is what I call a "core coach". He played the game, was a quarterback for two Long Island Rutgers Cup Teams, and a cornerback who understands reactions like few do." There is an awful lot of work to be done before the game between statistics gathering information, putting it all together and we ask ourselves is it all worth it in the end? We hope that someday somebody will appreciate what we have developed in a terrific league, and some might say this is the way a league should be run with detailed information, structure, organization, and professional people running the league. It has been joyful and has brought a lot of joy and that's what the holiday season is about. If you have read the articles this season you have followed these teams each one battling to get to where they are in a fast-paced high-octane quick setups, one-stop efficient league. We are proud to be part of the National Electric Football Game Museum run by the legendary Chris LeMay of Tennessee. It has taken 49 years to create the Packers team that is on the field today, playing at a never before seen level. Nobody can deny the history of the Green Bay Packers, especially when it comes to one of the greatest coaches in the history of all sports Vince Lombardi. Lombardi was not just a football coach. He was a man who stood for the challenge of men. He coached men to stand up to men, and to be men of character, of good moral fiber. His players rose to the occasion in the face of defeat. That is Green Bay's motto ... just win baby! To keep the tradition alive in our league we work really hard on the historic NFL teams like the Packers the Vikings, Steelers, Browns and others to be at peak performance so that our history remains rich and complete. You only know how good your teams are when you face other competition. We know over the years what Miami has done and they have been in at least as many as 20 tournaments with just 11 players on their team. We have very strict rules of 11 man rosters which is a challenge because a coach has to find their 11 best for offense and defense. They're also very strict rules when it comes to running and passing with the exception of the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl game you can run and pass all you want compared to regular season where you are allowed to pass once every set of downs, which means you can pass all day long as long as you get your first down on that one play. It is a tremendous challenge and the coaches love it because the great equalizer is the running game, so come to pass, but defend the run. The Green Bay Packers started to show signs last season that they would be performing at a different level this year when they made it to the NFC Wild Card Game, losing to the Carolina Panther 42-20, but a lot has changed. Detroit beat Carolina this season, but so did Green Bay in the regular season. Most of Green Bay's competition was in their own division. It turns out that their division once again proved to be one of the top performing divisions in the LIEFL. The Chicago Bears were a step away from making the playoffs. They are in the position that Green Bay was in last year as an emerging team. They are one or two players away from becoming a Super Bowl contender, and that's exactly what the league is about, bettering every single team so that no team is ever safe in the league, and they are just a game away from victory or defeat, or being knocked out of contention by a single mistake!

  14. Thank you my brother! I love the Packers as well! Should be a terrific game!!! When we first started I wanted the Pack but lost them to Viggs in a coin flip! They are really improved since last season and his linebackers are beasts! We'll see! Green Bay really showed their stuff against Washington and shocked me for sure. Watching them is interesting, they are never the same team. They adapt to the situation. Yesterday's game was jaw dropping. I've been practicing quick set ups because this cat moves as fast as a shark!
