  4. LONG ISLAND ELECTRIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE S U P E R B O W L X V I I, was action packed from the opening kickoff with our two top teams and coaches facing off. Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes and return specialist Tyreek Hill combined for 595 yards with five touchdowns in the game to beat the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers 47-37! Coquina Key, Florida January 21, 2023. LIEFL S U P E R B O W L X V I I, was a huge success! With $3200 dollars on the line, it was a big day for South Bronx native Coaches Matt Zoo-York (18-14) and Ed Viggs (20-13). We turned this game into a Super Bowl Party. We brought the stadium with us, set it up, and made it look fantastic. Since everything was set, we decided to play the Super Bowl Game last night, and we are so glad we did because the buzz-vibe was so alive and ripe for a sensational LIEFL season finish. Zoo-York took his Chiefs team from worst to first in the Long Island Electric Football League. They didn't even win the division. In tremendous competition, all the top teams in the league lost in upsets by these AFC Championship Chiefs Wild Card team to get to the show. At stake is $1800 dollars to the winner, which gets handed to the winner in an envelop as soon as they win the game, and the loser gets $1400 dollars! The excitement is buzzing before the opening kickoff between the Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) and the San Francisco 49ers (7-3). Coaches just can't believe that their team didn't make the Super Bowl and the Chiefs did. Coach Johnny Freeport Chucker said, "This isn't something I expected to see. I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to them, but Zoo-York seemed to hide Tyreek Hill until the first game of the playoffs. I've never seen a player play like he did. He crushed it! We know Priest Holmes is a steady running back but I just didn't think anything of it. We play 30 minute games during the regular season, but these 60-minute games is the true test of your team. Great coaches expose all of your weaknesses and that's Coach Viggs for you, but today I think he's going to find out just how good this Chiefs team is because he wasn't here when Hill blew up Miami 58-57! That was the best electric football game I ever watched! I am happy that Zoo made it this far, but can he beat the GOAT?" Before we decided to play last night, That was the buzz, can Zoo pull off a win against Viggs. Viggs stunned last year with his Packers, beating the Miami Dolphins 52-49 in LIEFL Super Bowl XVI. To get here, the 49ers dropped Green Bay 38-35 in the NFC Divisional Championship Game and then they whipped the New York Giants 51-44! This is a battle-hardened 49ers electric football team, is loaded with offensive weapons. It's been Jerry Rice and Ricky Watters who have brought a lethal offensive attack for San Francisco, but they have to match the 52 points per game that Kansas City has put on the scoreboard in the last three games. That will be tough to beat! The feeling waiting for the opening kickoff was intense. These two teams have been involved in all the playoff nail-biters. AFC Championship Game MVP Superstar Tyreek Hill ran back a 42 yard opening kickoff and he was clobbered by San Francisco tackle Chris Doleman! The massive Chiefs offensive line of Buchanan, Lanier, Alt, McIntosh, and Taylor moved the Kansas City football fast as running back Priest Holmes, who has 12 touchdowns in the playoffs, exploded on a 47-yard run to the 49ers 11-yard line. What a run! The 49ers defense led by Charles Haley, Ronnie Lott, and Ken Norton came up big, pushing the Chiefs back 18 yards in two plays, forcing a pass play for Coach Matt Zoo York. On third down, Zoo found a wide open Tony Gonzalez who took it 30-yards down the sideline to score the first touchdown of the game at 7:56, with the score 7-0 Kansas City, in S U P E R B O W L X V I I! It was San Francisco's turn to show this Chiefs team that they wouldn't be pushed around. 49ers star Jerry Rice returned a speedy 51-yard kick return, and the 49ers offensive line went to work. Running back Ricky Watters had two beautiful runs of 16 and 13 yards to bring the ball to the Chiefs 20-yard line and then the Chiefs defense stuffed the 49ers run handing the 49ers an 8-yard loss, bringing up third down. On third down, the 49ers were almost sacked with nobody open and nowhere to throw. Zoo York had everybody covered! Viggs was frustrated, but stayed cool. With nowhere to run or pass on 4th down the 49ers had to settle for a field goal to make the score 7-3 Chiefs, with the first quarter coming to a close. To open the second quarter, Tyreek Hill nearly broke free for a hundred yard kickoff return but he was tilted by his own man, returning a 68-yard play to the 49ers 32-yard line. It only took one play for running back Priest Holmes to break through the left side of the field for a 32-yard touchdown scamper to give the Chiefs the lead 14-3, with 13:07 remaining in the half! This Chiefs offense has impressed the entire lead and is the new feared playoff contender. Matt Zoo-York has worked magic with this team. To put up 52 PPG in this league is an eye opener. He isn't backing down to Viggs or the world at the moment. Kansas City's commanding lead is just the beginning, but Viggs always has a trick or two up his sleeve. Viggs won at least six comeback games this season dragging teams into overtime and winning the games after the coin toss. He's a cool customer under pressure. Before the game, the teams were touched up with paint, made to look like they had brand new uniforms so that there are no imperfections. The players are clean because we have a protocol we follow. We wash our hands. Every player's base is dipped in water and completely dried, the field is cleaned with hot water, then Windex, and then the players are weighed and inspected to be sure that there is no cheating in a world of cheaters. Finally, the two coaches choose the game board and agree on it. On the kickoff, Jerry Rice returned to 48-yard kick return but the Chiefs defense showed up big stopping the 49ers again on two runs, until Coach Viggs wasted no time going to the air. Viggs threw a 71-yard bomb connecting with who else? Jerry Rice! Rice exploded down field for a 49ers touchdown, making the score 14-10, with 5:42 left in the half. What a play! San Francisco has their mojo back! Tyreek Hill returned a 40-yard kick return, only to be turned by his own man. One play later is was Priest Holmes who tore up the gridiron again, this time to the 49ers left side of the line, even after the 49ers made adjustments, and Holmes just busted in for the touchdown! The Chiefs take the runaway lead 21-10, at 2:58 remaining in the half! WOW the excitement is mounting! Kansas City is working on all cylinders! On the next kick return, San Francisco's Jerry Rice returned to spectacular 64-yarder. On first down Ricky Watters was stopped again by Kansas City's defensive front on the run, but on second down on the verge of being sacked coach Viggs threw a rocket to Dwight Clark who blazed 50 yards into the endzone for the score with 59 seconds remaining in the half. The 49ers are going to go for two-points, which Clark caught in the end zone to make the score 21-18, Kansas City with the lead! What a way to bring a first half of football to a close! Kansas City fired right back as they have done throughout these playoffs with an incredible Tyreek Hill 100-yard kick return to end the first half! Holy cow! What a spectacular run, right through the middle of the field with Hill finding a lane and almost tackled by Charles Haley! The Chiefs explode for a 28-18 lead in LIEFL S U P E R B O W L X V I I as the first half comes to a close! It's not looking good for a frustrated Coach Viggs. The 49ers received the football to begin the third quarter and Jerry Rice had something boiling in him because he ignited! Rice ran back an electrifying 100-yard kick return for the touchdown to answer the Chiefs to open the third quarter, and the fireworks have begun with the score 28-24, Chiefs still. Jerry Rice took in the two-point conversion to make it 28-26, the Chiefs have the lead with 12:28 left to go in the third quarter! These two players Rice and Hill would be stars in any league, and whoever gets lucky enough to have this league will love the league, the players, and the organization! This time on Tyreek Hill's first run of the second half he ran back a 45-yard kickoff return, but the 49ers came up big, stopping Priest Holmes twice on two runs, and then on third down Zoo-York hit Tyreek Hill for a 59 yard first down to the three yard line! One play after that, Holmes ran in his third touchdown of the game with the Chiefs making the two-point conversion to Tony Gonzalez, to give Kansas City the lead 36-26. The Chiefs took command with 1:31 remaining in the third quarter! What great football game! San Francisco needed to stop Kansas City to reclaim this game and by the way the Chiefs are playing it's obvious that that will be difficult because the momentum of the Chiefs is giving Zoo-York that vision of a championship. His facial expressions and his confidence behind this Kansas City team are obvious. Viggs will never give in. 49ers Jerry Rice returned a 52-yard kick return to the 48-yard line of the Chiefs on the ensuing kickoff. The San Francisco offense couldn't get anything going on the run. They were stopped on the first two plays and pushed back 14-yards which forced Coach Viggs to air it out again to Jerry Rice who ran another touchdown in for 30-yards, his third of the game, bringing the score to 36-34, after the 49ers 2-point conversion, with 8:20 remaining in the game! Tyreek Hill ran back a beautiful 72-yard kick return putting the Chiefs in great field position at the 28 yard line of San Francisco. It only took the Chiefs one play for Priest Holmes to run in his fourth touchdown of the game a 28-yard run! Kansas City scored on the two-point conversion on a pass to Tony Gonzalez to make the score 44-34 with the Chiefs in the lead! The two minute warning sounding off! It's been quite a game for Kansas City on defense. Coach Viggs was running out of time and answers in stopping this high-powered Kansas City offense. The 49ers returned 44 yard kick return by Jerry Rice and they went out passing on first down with nobody open. Coach Zoo-York really played this game tight and built confidence throughout the game on offense, making this game a game out of reach for the San Francisco 49ers to come back from. On 2nd and 3rd down the 49ers ran the ball but everywhere they turned, their were Kansas City defenders closing in. On 4th down San Francisco kicked a 49-yard field goal to make the score 44-37 with no timeouts left! The Chiefs still had one time out after calling their first time out with 23 seconds remaining in the game as the clock ticked away when the Kansas City Chiefs (8-3) kicked a field goal to win LIEFL S U P E R B O W L X V I 47-37! This place erupted for Coach Zoo-York who said, "This is a big one for this team and for me personally. It was great moves and adjusting player personnel that won this game against the best coach in the league. I took advantage of his game by studying his team." When we asked Coach Zoo what he was going to do with his earnings he said, "I am giving $100 back to the league, and the rest, I have no idea!" Coach Viggs said, "The Chiefs are definitely an impressive team and Zoo played amazing, what can I say? Great game! That is what the league is all about, using the draft to make a competitive league, but I will be back next season and lets see what I can do for the 49ers in the draft. It seems I need to make some changes on the offensive line because either Rickey Watters has slipped, or the league has gotten that much better. I think in any other league he'd be a beast, and he proved that the season he set the rushing record in the LIEFL, but we'll be back. I think I was a bit surprised that my Packers are not here, and that just shows how great the league is." Then it was time to vote on the game MVP. Kansas City's Priest Holmes was unstoppable in the running game rushing for 118-yards on nine carries, but Holmes did a lot of damage with four touchdowns. Tyreek Hill did it all. He had seven returns for 418 yards with a hundred yard touchdown run. He made a key 59 yard catch which set up a Holmes touchdown at a crucial point in the game. Both of these players will share the LIEFL Super Bowl XVII MVP Award. The San Francisco 49ers (7-4) played a great Super Bowl against one of the best teams we have seen in twenty years. What a way to celebrate after their post season absence since 1982-83. Kansas City held San Francisco's Ricky Watters to just 63 yards, and the big number that sticks out is Watters failed to get into the endzone. Jerry Rice played Super Bowl Super for the 49ers with six touches for 466-yards all-purpose yards, including a 100-yard touchdown return, plus another 102 yards receiving with two touchdowns!
  5. 2022-23 LONG ISLAND ELECTRIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE S U P E R B O W L X V I I January 22, 2023 San Francisco 49ers (7-3) vs Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) Welcome readers! The excitement of the Long Island Electric Football League was overwhelming on Sunday! Two great coaches towed their Championship teams to Florida to play in a war! The Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) uprising started two seasons ago in 2020, when they drafted the player base for Tyreek Hill. Chiefs Coach and Bronx, New York native Matt Zoo-York, as we call him because the South Bronx is one of the toughest communities in the country, took this team from a (2-5) record in 2020, to where they are today by making tremendous draft picks. Hill saw little action in the 2020 season, but naturally when you put the ball in a player's hands consistently, they earn the opportunity to perform. That's when the Chiefs called on Tyreek Hill, when they needed him most. Priest Holmes had 1,942 all-purpose yards in 2018 with 16 touchdowns, and then the Chiefs forgot how to block. Tyreek Hill blew up defenses in the league with his speed. He had the performance of the year, an astonishing 720 yard game against the top team in the AFC, the Miami Dolphins. We doubt this record will be broken in our league. Hill had three 100-yard touchdown returns against Miami, and it sent a clear message of how important it is to do NFL-like drafts in electric football because teams should constantly improve. The only way to do that is to be unbiased and not favor any teams. Take the worse record teams in the league and give them the best player bases from the draft with the number #1 picks going to the losing record teams in order. It is beyond exciting! That's what we have done in the LIEFL and the vibe of the league has been sensational. That is where Matt Zoo-York proved the importance of the draft, in how far he has brought Kansas City in just a few seasons. Historically, we Traced the Chiefs record back to the 2008 draft, and the rebuilding of the Chiefs were revived in 2016, when the league made a comeback, and it was the 2008 Draft, that started to evolve a different LIEFL with fierce competitiveness. The results have been awesome! This year, all of those draft picks that Zoo-York picked took them from the gutter of the league to where they are at this moment. The player bases like Damien McIntosh, Derrick Thomas, Willie Lanier, and Buck Buchanan changed the way coaches had to play against the Chiefs. The draft started to pay off for the Chiefs and many other teams, taking the Chiefs from (1-6) in 2019, and (2-5) in 2020, to becoming an AFC Wild Card team at (4-3) this season. It's the first time Kansas City has made it to the playoffs since 1982. They have dominated in these playoffs averaging 52 points per game! No team in the history of this league has ever done that and that's what makes them special. Kansas City took second place in the division to the AFC Western Division Champion Los Angeles Chargers. In the AFC Wild Card Game, the Chiefs beat the tough Tennessee Titans 42-31. Then in the AFC Divisional Championship Game, Kansas City beat, who we would consider another elite team in the Buffalo Bills 56-52. Buffalo won the LIEFL Super Bowl XIII in 2017, then they unhinged Miami 58-57, in the AFC Championship Game, recording the highest scoring game in the history of the Long Island Electric Football League. There isn't a coach in the league who expected the Chiefs to be where they currently sit, in S U P E R B O W L X V I I! Chiefs Starters Buck Buchanan-L Willie Lanier-L John Alt-L Damien McIntosh-T Herb Taylor-T Bobby Bell-LB Derrick Thomas-LB Priest Holmes-RB Larry Johnson-RB Tony Gonzalez-TE Tyreek Hill-R Coach Ed Viggs, the Wall-Street Guru won the LIEFL Super Bowl in 2020 with his Green Bay Packers. The Packers drafted Sterling Sharpe, and the team became an instant threat to opposing defense's. The 49ers had a rebuilding year in 2017, but they lost to the Detroit Lions 21-20 in the NFC Divisional Game. In 2019, the 49ers lost to divisional rival Los Angeles Rams 38-34 in the NFC Divisional Game, and they showed progress and promise. But, while coach Viggs worked on his Chargers and Packers, this 49ers team didn't get the attention he felt they deserved, and after going (0-7) in 2020, it was back to the beginning for Viggs who started over. He received one of the top picks in the Draft and along came a new Jerry Rice! Rice has been a beast to defenses! San Francisco has played like champions in the postseason as the NFC Western Division Champions. They are a perfect match for the Chiefs, but many in this league think that the Giants would have been a better matchup because of the season LIEFL Offensive Player of the Year has had, if you follow the league, but you can't control who's going to win a game. When the 49ers beat the Giants in the NFC Championship Game 51-44, all bets are off as to who will win the matchup between Kansas City and San Francisco. Jerry Rice had 533 all-purpose yards in the game with three 100-yard touchdowns! In the 60-minute games Rice has been perfect in the three games in the playoffs totaling 22 touches for 1,427 yards with seven touchdowns, four of them 100-yarders! 49ers Starters Fred Dean-L Charles Hayley-L Randy Cross-L Harris Barton-T Ronnie Lott-S Ken Norton-LB Rickey Watters-RB Roger Craig-RB Jerry Rice-R Dwight Clarke-TE Sunday January 22, we will hold S U P E R B O W L X V I I, in Coquina Key, Florida for our second consecutive year. The San Francisco 49ers (7-3) will battle the Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) for a pay pool of $3200 dollars! That's as real as it gets! asbt.jfif
  6. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)vs. New York Giants (7-2) NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME JANUARY 17, 2023 49ERS WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 51-44 NAIL-BITER OVER GIANTS! NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Jerry Rice (#80) nearly set a new LIEFL record four 100-yard touchdown runs in a game, but on this play Rice exploded for his third of the game as the West Division Champion San Francisco 49ers took it to the New York Giants in last night's 51-44 beating of the NFC East Champs! San Francisco (7-3), will face the powerhouse Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) in LIEFL S U P E R B O W L X V I I on Sunday! (Long Island Electric Football League, Long Island NY.) Everybody in the league is still talking about Tyreek Hill's 750-yard four touchdown performance against Miami in the AFC Championship Game. "That may never happen again, but at least we got to see it," said Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Andrew Slawson. Hill was Zoo-York's #1 pick in the LIEFL 2020 Draft, but at that time he was using Priest Holmes to return the ball and the Chiefs were mostly a running team until Zoo unleashed Hill. Who knew that that player base would be the diamond in the ruff? Coach Matt Zoo-York who has been the hottest coach in the league this season. Zoo is (18-14) this season. The Tudor Games player base quality is the key. We don't mind paying the price when a product is high quality. We bought a few hundred player bases in that 2020 Draft, and the results have changed the offensive threats in the league for many teams. Being a product of that draft, Hill became an overnight sensation in the league judging by the damage he has caused in the playoffs. In three games the Chiefs have dismantled three teams, the Tennessee Titans 42-31, the Buffalo Bills 56-52, and the record setting game with the elite Miami Dolphins 58-77, with Hill going on an absolute record-setting rampage in the process, no matter who's defense they are up against. He has 24 touches for 1465 all-purpose yards with five touchdowns, four of them 100-yard kick returns! He would be a star in any league! The 49ers have a similar playing style to the Chiefs. They unhinged both the Atlanta Falcons 37-31 in overtime, and they beat the number one seeded defending LIEFL Super Bowl Champion, Green Bay Packers 38-35! You could not find a better matchup for a championship game. The San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants have similar players who obviously helped get their team to this point. Another product of the draft for the San Francisco 49ers is Jerry Rice. Rice has been explosive, taking the NFC by storm with Rice blowing up defenses! His laser sharp running has been hard to prepare for if you are the defense because the "Master of Preparation" Coach Viggs uses a dynamic playset and high aptitude for the offensive game. Before today's game against the Giants, Rice has 14 touches for 825 yards with three touchdowns, one of them a hundred yard scamper. LIEFL Commissioner Billy O'C, whose Dolphins were eliminated by the Chiefs said, "Rice is down right dangerous! The Giants are going to have to pull out the weapons to beat the 49ers." With Offensive Player of the Year, Ahmad Bradshaw, the Giants are not worried about their return game. Bradshaw has 14 touches for 675 yards with three 100-yard touchdowns, his 9th 100-yard kick return of the year! Big Blue has Saquon Barkley to back up their talk in the running game. Barkley has 20 rushes for 302 yards with four touchdowns, one of them a 60 yard scamper in these playoffs! Two star players on the same team is enough to deal with. The Giants and 49ers are great defenders, so this ought to be a great war! Bradshaw does not have the speed that Rice has, but nevertheless, he's an electrifying player. When they took the field for the Long Island EFL NFC Championship Game all the coaches in the league came to watch at Joey Pizz place because they didn't want to miss this one. This playoff season was the best ever in the league, a league that keeps getting better! In electric football, just like life, everything is relative. On Sunday we will play our Super Bowl! We have a sponsor who bought the two plane tickets to paradise 5 months ago, to St. Pete, Florida, same place as last year's Super Bowl. The place is wild tonight with the buzz that this matchup between the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) and the New York Giants (7-2) is going to be a great one. South Bronx native Matt Zoo-York, was the alternate coach picked by Coach Viggs to play with Viggs 49ers in the NFC Divisional Championship, which Viggs Packers lost, so since Zoo's Chiefs won, he gave the 49ers back to Viggs, and here Viggs is playing Coach Joey Pizz "red-hot" Giants! If you've never been around a group of New Yorkers, you have to know it's going to be very loud. The San Francisco 49ers Rank #17 all-time in the LIEFL with a record of (72-79) and the New York Giants Rank #9 at (90-75)! KICKOFF! Both of these teams have come a long way to get to where they are today, especially the 49ers. In the season that the Long Island Electric football league had before the pandemic the Giants lost in the last game of the season which eliminated them from the playoffs. The 49ers didn't win the game but they had lots of bad breaks and overtime games in 2020. The opening kick off was anticipated with great excitement! San Francisco came up huge on the first set of downs, stopping the Giants running game, to take the ball back after Ahmad Bradshaw returned the football 36-yards on the kick return. Not a good start for New York. The Giants front line could not get anything going against this determined 49ers defense. On the 49ers first running attempt by running back Ricky Watters, the Giants defense came out slugging as defensive tackle David Diehl made a big hit on Watters. The defense for the Giants has to shut down Coach Viggs rushing and passing attack to win this game. But the Giants had another thought, completely shutting down the 49ers running attempts and passing on this set of downs. The other defensive tackle for the Giants, Osi Umenyiora sacked the quarterback at the 40-yard line of the Giants! Huge plays! On 4th down San Francisco kicked a 40-yard field goal to make the score 3-0, 49ers with the lead in the first quarter with the 2-minute warning blowing! It has been some week of electric football. On the Giants next kickoff, Ahmad Bradshaw worked his magic! Bradshaw ran back an incredible 100-yard touchdown, his 8th of the season, to put the Giants ahead 7-3, with 1:45 left on the clock raising the stakes by New York! What a run! With seconds remaining on the clock, Jerry Rice returned a thriller to the New York special teams, as they watched Rice whiz by for his first 100-yard kick return of the game for the touchdown to make the score 10-7, San Francisco retakes the lead with the first quarter coming to a close! Giants football to open the second quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Ahmad Bradshaw ran 53-yard kicks to the 49ers 47 yard line. One play later, Saquon Barkley exploded for a 47-yard inside run for the touchdown to give New York the lead 14-10, with 12:54 remaining in the half! Barkley and the Giants line has been doing this all year as the Number #1 offense in the league wins the battle in the trenches on this one. The 49ers didn't waste any time Jerry Rice ran back a 44-yard kick return to set up the San Francisco net set of downs. On first down Ricky Watters ran for six yards, but Watters was stopped on second down. Coach Viggs decided to put it up in the air to an unexpected recipient, Roger Craig on 3rd down. Craig caught a hard pass for a 44-yards 49ers first down, taking the ball to the News York 8-yard line! On the next play Ricky Watters ran in for the touchdown to make the score 17-14 49ers, with 3:28 remaining in the half! On another electrifying kick return Ahmad Bradshaw went 89 yards to the 49ers 11-yard line to set up the Giants running attack. One play later, Saquon Barkley ran it in from 11-yards to give the Giants the lead 21-17, forcing a timeout for the 49ers with 1:32 remaining in the half! Coach Pizz jumped in the air! What a war! In the LIEF, we've learned never to get to excited when playing Coach Viggs. Holy cow! Jerry Rice answered that Giants touchdown with Rice detonating his second 100-yard touchdown run of the game! Unbelievable! The 49ers retake the lead 24-21, with 1:20 still remaining in the half! The Giants use their first time out! WOW! Like sitting on eggshells you don't know what's going to happen next, what makes for exciting professional electric football! Jerry Rice has 244-yards and two touchdowns already! No way! Bradshaw returned the gift with his own hundred yard touchdown! OMG! Wild is the scene! We can't talk about Jerry Rice without talking about Ahmad Bradshaw! These two are having a spectacular first half and a Giants retake the lead 28-24, with the 49ers taking a time out with 1:08 left in the half. The special teams units in the Long Island Electric football Rock! Deja vu? This game has a feel like the AFC Championship Game. In what seemed like the never-ending first half of electric football, Jerry Rice was stopped at the 41-yard line by Giants end Mark Bavaro, who hit Rice hard with the half coming to a close. As the clock reached seconds, the 49ers kicked a 59-yard field goal to make the score 28-27, New York Giants in the lead as the first half came to a close! At the start of the third quarter Jerry Rice will run back the ball. It's unbelievable! The game is filled with action-packed excitement. There are no words to describe the competition. Jerry Rice started the third quarter with yet another 100-yard kick return, already his third of the game! Rice smoked the defense blazing past them as if he was waving into the endzone! What a performance by Rice! We can't even make this stuff up! This place is going berserk with excite with excitement!!! The 49ers went for the 2-point conversion and Dwight Clark scored to put the 49ers ahead 35-28! We've played on many game boards, but these older electric football games are the field of choice for most of the people we know who play the game. Giants football with Bradshaw running a 42-yard kick return. New York's next five plays tore the clock up before Mark Bavaro bulled his way for a 22-yard first down. Four plays later, Saquon Barkley ran the ball all the way down to the 26-yard line of San Francisco and the two minute warning sounded with Jerry Rice having a spectacular game making the tackle on defense behind the line of scrimmage for a 9-yard Giants loss! With the third quarter coming to a close Barkley ran a 26-yard touchdown right through the middle of the trenches, his third touchdown of the day to tie the score at 35-35, and the Giants will go for the two-point conversion. Barkley caught the pass for the two yard conversion to make the score 36-35, Giants with the third quarter lead, which ended the third quarter! 15 minutes to go in the game! In this intense nail-biter, Coach Pizz had done a great job coaching his Giants and Viggs has been perfect! It is going to either be a mistake or out of time that will win this game. Jerry Rice is looking for his fourth 100-yard kick return of the game. Nobody has ever done that in this league. Rice would be the first ever in LIEFL history to run back four 100-yard touchdowns if he could do it. Jerry Rice Blew by defenders and ran back a 50-yard kick return, almost breaking Free. On the first two plays from scrimmage San Francisco running back Ricky Watters, was stopped on both attempts by the Giants defense led by All-Pro George Martin and Lawrence Taylor. The Giants defense has held the 49ers to just 14-yards rushing on seven attempts. On second down, the 49ers needed a big play. They have lost 18 yards, pushed back to their own 32-yard line with third down coming up. It's been an intense strategic game. On third down, Coach Viggs aired it out, connecting with who else? Jerry Rice for a 69-yard touchdown reception with Rice blasting off into the endzone, his fourth touchdown of the game! Unbelievable! The 49ers go for the two-point conversion with a quarterback sneak to take the lead 43-36, with 6:50 remaining in the game! Viggs is unreal! You can prepare for his teams but you can't prepare for him! That's why we can't believe his Packers lost to the very team he is playing with, the 49ers! Sometimes these games get personal. Pizz and Viggs just look at each other and take a deep breath. It's New York's football but, Jerry Rice makes the news again! With a wide open field in front of him, Ahmad Bradshaw was hit hard when out of nowhere Rice clobbered Bradshaw at the Giants 34 yard line, with time running out in the game. The Giants drove the football all the way to the 26 yard line. Saquon Barkley ran in his second 26 yard touchdown of the game as the two minute warning sounded off! The Giants scored on the two-point conversion. With the score 44-43 New York in the lead, with 1:45 remaining in the game, San Francisco will get the ball and put it in Jerry Rice's hands! The 49ers call their first time out! It's a stretch, but in the back of Coach Viggs mind, he has to be thinking about Rice. Jerry Rice can make history and on the kick return. Running on the edge of Long Island Electric Football history, Jerry Rice ran the ball back 98 yards, just two yards shy of the record with 1:23 left to go in the game! San Francisco is at the two yard line! On San Francisco's first play, Ricky Watters ran to the left side of the line and into the end zone tackled by Giants tackle David Diehl, and the 49ers go for the two-point conversion with 1:11 left to go in the game! The Giants are out of timeouts, so now more than ever, they need Ahmad Bradshaw to work his magic! He's been the clutch guy all year for the Giants, with two hundred yard touchdowns in the game already! With the game on the line Bradshaw ran the ball back hard, but he couldn't make it happen, running out of bounds at the 34 yard line as Coach Pizz puts his hands on his head watching the clock run out of time! The San Francisco 49ers (7-3) are the 2022-23 NFC Champions and they are on their way to their second LIEFL Super Bowl! What a season it's been for the 49ers, beating the Giants 51-44 in a thriller! What a matchup between San Francisco and Kansas City! The Giants played a great game, they just couldn't get it done as we watch coach Pizz with a face of dejection, but it was a great run for the Giants! Pizz said, "We just couldn't get the job done, and the first drive of the game was the end result. You can't make mistakes against Viggy." Viggy came over and said, "Wow, what a game. Those Giants are badass. I thought it was a great game!" Viggs has a home in Florida and he will be there for the Sunday game! With these two explosive offenses between Kansas City and San Francisco there's no telling what records will be broken, but it sure promises to be our most exciting Super Bowl yet! It's anyone's guess! The NFC Championship Game MVP is Jerry Rice! Rice exploded for seven kick returns for 602 all-purpose yards, with three 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns, plus a 69 yard touchdown! Way to go! New York Giants superstar Ahmad Bradshaw had 8 returns for 499 yards with two 100 yard touchdowns! Saquon Barkley added another 156 yards rushing on 14 carries with four touchdowns! 2022-23 L O N G I S L A N D E F L S U P E R B O W L X V I I
  7. LIEFL AFC Championship Game MVP TROPHY Kansas City Chiefs Tyreek Hill
  8. AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME JANUARY 16, 2023 Miami Dolphins (7-2) versus Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) KANSAS CITY SENSATIONAL IN RECORD SETTING AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Kansas City Chiefs Tyreek Hill set a new record 11 touches for 750 all-purpose yards with three block-busting blazing 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns! Unbelievable! The Chiefs haven't seen the playoffs in the LIEFL since 1982-83 when they lost to none other than the Miami Dolphins, 28-3! Hill earned the AFC Championship Game MVP sending the exciting Chiefs to its first ever Super Bowl in the Long Island Electric Football League! Welcome to Tudor Games Forum! Welcome and thanks for visiting our Forum page! Wow! Hooyah! They had to be sensational today to beat the defending AFC Champion Miami Dolphins, and the Kansas City Chiefs were nothing less, dethroning Miami in a record-setting historic Long Island Electric Football League game 58-57! We cannot tell you how honored we are to share this game with the Electric Football Community! We thought we had seen the greatest game played when the Kansas City Chiefs rose to the occasion to beat the Buffalo Bills 56-52 in the AFC Divisional Game, but Kansas City entered unchartered waters against Miami on the Dolphins home turf! The Chiefs finished a (4-3) team, but they taught the league what wins and losses mean in the big game scoring at will on the best AFC team in the league, making it look easy with a massive offense line, incredible special teams, and a balanced running attack! Talk about draining every ounce of offense and energy poured into one of the greatest games our league has ever witnessed, the coaching was superb. We couldn't have asked for a more competitive AFC Championship Game, it topped them all. It was better than the Buffalo 49-48 stunning win over the Chargers and even the Kansas City win over Buffalo 56-52 because it was Miami! Billy O'C is eliminated from the playoffs! It's going to be Matt Zoo-York flying down to Coquina Key over the weekend to play the winner of Coach Ed Viggs San Francisco 49ers or Joey Pizz New York Giants! Coach Matt Zoo-York has been the hottest coach in the league this season. Both Zoo and Billy O'C have outstanding skillset! Both of these teams have become scoring machines, which may look like they did the impossible which is only possible in electric football! The teams' combined for 115 points in the game, amassing 1929 yards, and 15 touchdowns, and 17 tackles between the teams! Miami never quit and neither did Kansas City, the game was "all that". There were six 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns in the game, three by Kansas City's Tyreek Hill who set records and Miami's Mark Duper and yes, only in electric football, but we've been at this game as long as anyone in the history of the game, and this game between Miami and Kansas City was one, we'll never forget! Two top coaches, and one team with a proven track record in Miami with over 150 career wins, and the other in Kansas City who stormed into these 2022-23 AFC playoffs with a coach who has utter determination in Matt Zoo-York! Kansas City has the most explosive emerging offense in the AFC! Chiefs coach, Matt Zoo-York said, "This is a fiercely competitive league and it's war! I worked hard with this team to get to where they are and Tyreek Hill has become an overnight sensation." It's not like the Chiefs played just anybody. Miami has been trying for three straight seasons to win their 7th LIEFL Super Bowl and they've won two consecutive AFC Championships, only to be denied again, this time by Kansas City! Coach Johnny Freeport Chucker said, "Amen, bye bye Dolphins! Out with the old and in with the New! It is so awesome that Kansas City is going to the Super Bowl. Zoo-York will win it! He's been the hottest coach of the year." This years' playoffs has been sensational, competitive, and intense. The AFC Championship Game features LIEFL Coach Matt Zoo-York's Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) versus Coach Billy O'C's Miami Dolphins (7-2). Kansas City started the season with three wins and no losses until they lost for the Los Angeles Chargers 21-7, after they beat the Charger the week before. The Chiefs got here to the AFC CG by crushing the Tennessee Titans, who Miami lost to, and then Kansas City beat Buffalo in a historic win 56-52! They have used their weapons in running back Priest Holmes and kick returner Tyreek Hill. What they've done in the playoffs has been nothing short of spectacular. The Chiefs have played BIG, way beyond what anyone in the league expected with a (4-3) finish in the AFC West. The best move Matt New York made this season was giving the ball back to Priest Holmes. Holmes had an offseason last year, but he's back as one of the premier running backs in this league. He is a very unorthodox style Kansas City uses a natural delay play that allows the line to do its job, and then suddenly you see Holmes emerging down the sidelines like a DRAW play. Tyreek Hill has been a breakout player this year. He opened eyes in the first two playoff games with 16 touches for 723 kick return yards with a 100-yard touchdown, but he's critical in setting up the Chiefs run. The LIEFL has to now consider him a top level player after helping to bring the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game. It won't be easy for the Chiefs. They're facing the two-time back-to-back AFC Champion Miami Dolphins (7-2). They might be the team to beat Miami after the rampage they've been on. All the seeding stuff went right out the window in the playoffs cuz the Dolphins crushed the Chargers 42-35 and with that front line of Jason Taylor Larry little and Bob Kuechenberg, the Chiefs are in for the game! KICKOFF! It was a great intense feeling in the air with this game considering what the Chiefs have done in the tournament and on the opening kick off Mark duper returned the football 66 yards until Damian McIntosh clobbered him at the 34 yard line of the Chiefs. Duper just missed 100 yard kick return to open the game. Miami was stopped on the first run, and on second down Mercury Morris ran for 14-yards to pick up the first down. On the next play he was in the end zone with a beautiful end around sweep for a 20-yard touchdown run to give the Miami the lead 7-0, with 9:12 left in the first quarter! It was time to see what the Chiefs had left after that stunning defeat over Buffalo in the AFC Divisional Game. On the opening kickoff, rising star in the LIEFL Tyreek Hill, exploded for 47-yards, tackled by Miami's Mark Duper. The offensive line for the Chiefs wasted no time as Priest Holmes detonated on an end-around the left side of scrimmage 53-yards into the endzone to tie the score at 7-7, with 6:27 remaining in the quarter! If there is any way to answer Miami's high-octane offense, its have your own explosive offense. The Chiefs have that and then some! (NOTICE THE GORGEOUS LIFELIKE BROWN FOOTBALL UNDER HOLMES ARM--COMPLIMENTS OF LEAGUE COMMISSIONER BILLY O'C) On the Dolphins next kick return, Mark Duper burst for a 93-yard return to the 7-yard line of the Chiefs. One play later, Mercury Morris ran in from seven yards for his second touchdown of the game to make the score 14-7, with 3:13 remaining in the quarter with the clock running! As a spectator the intensity of the game was phenomenal! Tyreek Hill returned a 39-yard kick return, but he was hit hard again by the same guy Mark Duper. And on first down the Chiefs nearly repeated what they did last time the massive offensive line of Buck Buchanan, Willie Lanier, and John Alt, tore a hole in the trenches of the tough Miami Dolphins defense for a steady feeding of running back Priest Holmes who broke-out for a 43-yard end-around run, bringing the ball to the Miami 18-yard line as the first quarter came to a close. After stopping Holmes for the first time in the game, Zoo-York was forced to pass on third down where he found an open Tyreek Hill on broken coverage by Larry Csonka for a 30-yard touchdown play to tie game 14-14, 9:43 remaining in the half! As expected these two teams have delivered on performance. The Dolphins switched it up and Mark Clayton returned a 50-yard kickoff. On the very first play from scrimmage Mercury Morris ran for his third touchdown of the game with 6:51 remaining in the half and the Dolphins score the go-ahead touchdown making the score, 21-14! Tyreek Hill blew-up for a 52-yard kick return, landing at the Miami 48-yard line. The Chiefs line is playing spectacular. They opened up the entire left side of Miami's defense for Priest Holmes for a 39-yard first down to the Miami nine yard line. Holmes already has 149 yards rushing in the game. One play later, the Chiefs running back was in the end zone for his second touchdown of the game to tie the game at 21-21, with the 2-minute warning sounding off! What a game! The Mark's Brothers Clayton and Duper have played BIG in the playoffs. Tyreek Hill is as dangerous as both of them! On the Miami return, Clayton with blazing speed, nearly broke 100-yard kick return but Kansas City linebacker Derrick Thomas saved the day, tackling Clayton at the 39-yard line for a 59-yard kick return by Miami. What a play, and the Chiefs call their first time out! The Mark's Brothers came to play today. Miami tried to run on first down to kill the clock, but Mercury Morris was met by a wall of Chiefs defenders, losing 12-yards on the play. The Dolphins then called time out. On second down, Billy O'C connected with Mark Clayton who broke free on the left side of the field for a 53-yard touchdown run to give Miami the lead 28-21 with 1:21 left to go in the half, and the Chiefs called their last time out of the half! Clayton might be the fastest player in the league. He literally was hyping up and down going into the end zone with that blazing speed. The Chiefs took a huge risk with no timeouts remaining in the half. Tyreek Hill returned the ball 46-yards and the Chiefs were able to set up for a passing play but the Dolphins defense came up huge and stop them, shutting down that last attempt with a half coming to a close in Miami in the league 28-21. Instead of kicking the field goal, Coach Zoo-York went for it all The start of the third quarter was exciting. For a minute it looked like Miami could capitalize on Matt Zoo-York's choice to go for the touchdown to end the half, but anything he was unsure about was certainly corrected on the kickoff to open the third quarter. Tyreek Hill returned an electrifying 100-yard touchdown run to tie the game score at 28-28, with 14:43 left to go in the third quarter on an absolutely amazing kick return. We have some real speed in this game! Mark Clayton returned the ball 58-yards on the ensuing kick return. The Chiefs defense really came on in the second half and Mercury Morris could not move the ball. Morris was stopped on the first two runs and on third down Billy OC passed to Mark Duper who came up two yards shy of a first down after the Dolphins lost 20 yards to the Kansas City defense. The Dolphins had to settle on 4th down for a 33-yard field goal, to make this score 31-28, with 5:21 remaining in the third quarter, Dolphins in the lead with no stopping in sight for the explosive Kansas City offense. Tyreek Hill ran back a 42-yard kick return to set up Priest Holmes who was stopped on his first running attempt. But on second down, Holmes ran for 13 yards to the Miami 45-yard line with the two minute warning sounding for the third quarter to close down. The intensity and anxiety is building and you can see it on the coach's faces. As play resumed he did it again, Priest Holmes ran on another end-around for a 45-yard touchdown play to give the Chiefs the lead 35-31, with 1:41 left in the third quarter! The room exploded as Mark Duper ran back 100-yard kick return for the touchdown, putting Miami ahead 38-35 as a third quarter came to a close What a run by Duper! Okay wish we could make this up, but Tyreek Hill ran back a 100- yard kick return, his second of the game for the Chiefs to put the Chiefs up 42-38 to start of the 4th quarter. Nothing but fireworks and heavy artillery offense by both teams! What a touchdown run for Hill! This room is wild! (PHOTO BELOW--OUR PHOTOS ARE NEVER DOCTORED--IT IS THE ACTUL PLAY AS IT IS HAPPENING) This action-packed game has been one second of breathtaking plays electric football after the next. Miami's Mark Duper then returned a 71-yard kick return. Mercury Morris then ran the ball three times for 17 yards, but Miami couldn't forge forward on the run, suddenly Kansas City got their second wind, and the Dolphins were forced into a third down pass situation with nobody open but Larry Czonka in the end zone. Billy O'C fired away, but missed the target, bringing up fourth down from the 26-yard line of the Chiefs! The Dolphins failed to execute again, and they had to kick a field goal from 26 yards away to make the score now Chiefs 42 - Dolphins 41, with just 4:50 remaining in the game! Incredible, this one is going to be a battle to the finish until the last man is standing! This game is beyond a nail-biter, and the anxiety is rolling as the two minute warning sounded off with Tyreek Hill nearly running for his third hundred yard touchdown, but he stopped short at the 4 yard line where he went out of bounds almost as if it was on cue. On first down, Priest Holmes ran for one yard, taking the ball to the Miami Dolphins three yard line. Miami could not stop Holmes as he ran in for another touchdown from three yards, his fourth touchdown of the game! The Chiefs went for the two-point conversion to try to seal the deal for Kansas City. Holmes was wide open to make the catch at the two yard line and the Dolphins and Coach Billy O'C finds his team cornered with the score 50 to 41 Kansas City with the lead, with 1:25 to go and Miami called a time out! Unbelievable! Boom! These Dolphins refuse to quit as Mark Duper ran back his second hundred yard touchdown of the of the half in a sensational run right through the center of the field! Kansas City 50- Miami 47! The Dolphins will go for the two point conversion, but it won't be enough to tie the game! What a finish for both of these teams with the coaches again clapping for the production on the field! Miami's season is going to come to a close to these sensational Kansas City Chiefs who came out of nowhere to beat a great team, and really Tyreek Hill had an incredible game and the Dolphins just could not stop him. He was just more than they could handle today, and we have to tip our hat to the Kansas City Chiefs defense for stopping Miami, holding them on 3rd down forcing two field goals in this game. The Miami Dolphins were shooting for their third consecutive AFC championship, but today its the Chiefs going to the show! There was still over a minute left in the game, and the Chiefs wanted to make a final statement going back to the fact that they have not been to the playoffs in this league in 40 years, but Matt Zoo-York has grown 40 years older with his club. On a quarterback sneak the Dolphins went in for the two point conversion to make the score 50-49, Chiefs in the lead! Kansas City called a timeout and they are not finished they're trying to make history here. They already have, for the first time ever in the Kansas City Chiefs organization, they are going to LIEFL Super Bowl XVII, thanks to an incredible draft! With 58 seconds left to go in the game Tyreek Hill gave this Miami Dolphins football team a parting gift of another 100-yard kick return for a touchdown, his third hundred yard touchdown run of the game!!! No way! How on Earth did this Kansas City Chiefs do this? Two straight games of 56 points! That is a league record going into the history books! Again! What words do you use to describe the best game we've ever watched? OMG! Miami called their final time out! No Sir, Said Miami's Mark Duper! On his last return, Duper now ran back a hundred yard kick return his third hundred yard touchdown of the game!!! These playoffs have left us without words! The game, it's just unreal with the score now 58-55, the Chiefs call their last time out! And folks, this is a write-up on the greatest game ever played to date breaking every point record we have. Kansas City broke their own point record last game which tied the all-time LIEFL Most Points Scored in a game with 56, and who knows what's going to happen on this last play by Tyreek Hill! There's nothing more to be said about this incredible game. We just wish you were all here to watch the game, that's how great a game. Champions never die in electric football! Mark Clayton caught the two-point conversion for Miami to make the score 58-57, Chiefs in the lead with 24 seconds remaining in the game. Miami still has a timeout. Coach Matt Zoo-York and Coach Billy O'C have no quit! On the final return, Tyreek Hill ran the ball back 98-yards. Miami calls their last time out with 11 seconds left. Hill has over 500 yards just in the second half and we believe he broke several records! And on the last and final play, the Dolphins were not allowing Priest Holmes to go into that end zone one more time. It's the West Division Wild Card team, the Kansas City Chiefs winning the AFC championship 58-57, in a stunning victory for their first time ever! The Dolphins need to do nothing except for play hard again next year. Miami made it all the way to the AFC Championship for the third straight year! That's quite an accomplishment for an electric football team as Kansas City waits for the outcome of the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants game. Matt Zoo-York, the South Bronx kid has entered into the money round regardless of whether or not he wins or loses. Zoo could win $1800 dollars! Billy OC is eliminated! O'C said, "That was the greatest electric football game I ever played in and Zoo York deserves it. He hung with me the entire time and I can't say enough about his Kansas City Chiefs and what he's done with this team. Keep in mind that I beat the Chargers, but this guy came out here to play today and set all kinds of records and technically speaking even though he had three 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns, Hill nearly had two more. I'm just astounded by what Tyreek Hill did today. He's not real, but damned near seemed it! That might be the greatest single player performance that I've ever seen in all of my years playing this game." We are looking through the records, but at the moment it looks like is the first time ever in the history of the Long Island Electric football that there were six 100 yard touchdown runs in a game, six! Miami's Mark Duper finished with seven touches and 560 yards with three 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns! Sounds crazy but Tyreek Hill set or new record the old record for total all purpose yards in a game by a player. OJ Simpson in 2017, in LIEFL Super Bowl XIII, had 623 yards with seven touchdowns! Today, Tyreek Hill return the football 10 times for 750 total yards, with four touchdowns, three of them 100 yard kick returns! Just as it's hard to ignore what the Chiefs of accomplished in this postseason, it's hard to ignore Mark Clayton and Mark Duper. They have been super! These two guys are quickly making a name for themselves in the league and the Dolphins are becoming feared again. They have three legitimate threats in Mercury Morris, Mark Clayton. and Mark Duper.
  9. Minnesota Vikings (4-4) vs. New York Giants (6-2) NFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME JANUARY 15, 2023 AHMAD BRADSHAW AND GIANTS OFFENSE TOP VIKINGS 38-35 TO EARN CHANCE TO BEAT 49ERS FOR NFC CHAMPIONSHIP! The NFC Divisional Championship was a great game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings. Ahmad Bradshaw came up BIG for the Giants with five touches for 336 kick return yards, two of them for 100-yard touchdowns to help advance New York to the NFC Championship Game to play the high-powered San Francisco 49ers! (Long Island Electric Football League, Long Island, NY. January 14, 2023). Thanks for reading! It would be a mistake to underestimate any team in this Long Island Electric Football Tournament. The teams who are supposed to be here are here. They earned the spot to compete hard until we have a winner, and after watching the Kansas City Chiefs high-powered offense beat the Buffalo Bills 56-52, we know they are a fierce contender for this year's AFC Championship Game. Coach Johnny Freeport Chucker said, "I am pulling for Zoo-York's Chiefs. I am tired of watching Miami and Billy O'C. He's too old school and it's time for Zoo to dish out a beating to those Dolphins. I predict a Kansas City and San Francisco Super Bowl. That is a major change in the league proving the extreme power of the LIEFL Draft. I would say every single team in this league is competitive. It's loaded with talent. Just because the Saints lost six games, doesn't mean they are a poor team, not in this league anyway. I am rooting BIG for KC! Pizz will have these Giants ready today and Levi Vick is getting respect in the league. (Laughing) He's only lost, like what, 30 games since he's been playing with us." Long Island Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, historian Andrew Slawson said, "You could not find four better teams in these matchups. Kansas City and San Francisco have been perfect. I wouldn't want to be the team on the other end facing these two teams. They are two of the most explosive teams in the league right now and I think these are the best matchups ever. The Giants can neutralize a team, but as I'm thinking that I'm just thinking Miami's Clayton and Duper combination for the Dolphins will make for an unbelievable game with the Chiefs and Priest Holmes and Tyreek Hill. That's going to be a high scoring game unless Miami can keep the ball on the ground against the Kansas City defense. The 49ers are so tough and they match up perfectly with the Giants. Bradshaw versus Jerry Rice, wow! Then you have Dwight Clark and Ricky Watters to compliment the 49ers offense. The Giants have the best offense in the league and they've won seven games also, so that is going to be such a great game because you have for the Giants the best offensive player in the league in Ahmad Bradshaw, whose been amazing in the clutch so far! The big question is, who's going to crumble in the big game?" GAME SUMMARY: KICKOFF! Tremendous excitement is mounting in the Long Island Electric Football League as the AFC and NFC Championship Games are now set! It's the Miami Dolphins (7-2) versus the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) in the AFC Championship Game and in the NFC Championship Game it's the New York Giants (7-2) versus the San Francisco 49ers (6-3)! If you've been following the LIEFL playoffs the mounting excitement is with good reason for these four explosive teams! LIEFL Offensive Player of the Year Ahmad Bradshaw lived up to his season success coming through for the New York Giants, not once, but two times in todays’ game! On the opening kickoff Bradshaw returned the ball to the Giants own 40-yard line when he was hit hard by Minnesota lineman Jim Marshall. It only took two plays for LIEFL All-Pro lineman George Martin and company to get Saquon Barkley into the endzone. Barkley and the Giants offense picked up where they left off from last game, beating the Washington Redskins in the NFC Wild Card Game 38-35! Barkley ran for a 2-yard run on first down, and then he exploded for a 58-yard touchdown on second down to give his New York Giants a 7-0 lead, with11:33 to go in the first quarter. Note the football in Barkley's hands. Commissioner Billy O'C made them Brown with two-coats from a new Sharpie Brown Marker! Vikings star kick returner and running back Adrian Peterson returned the ball 36-yards, hit hard by Giants defender on special teams, Ahmad Bradshaw. On the Vikings first play from scrimmage, they were stopped on the run but on the next play, Peterson exploded 64-yards down the left sideline to tie the game 7-7, with 6:53 remaining in the first quarter! Coach Pizz is playing with his Giants, and second year coach Levi Vick is playing with the Vikings. Unbelievable! Ahmad Bradshaw returned the ball 70-yards on the ensuing kick return. On first down, running back Saquon Barkley ran a 30-yard end-around for his second touchdown untouched to make the score 14-7 Giants, with four-minutes to play in the first quarter! Pizz and his Giants came armed and ready! The question remains, can either of these teams handle the high-powered offense of San Francisco, who awaits the winner of this game between the Giants and Vikings. Adrian Peterson ran back a fast 44-yard kick return as the two-minute warning sounded off. On first down, Adrian Peterson ran 19 yards to the New York 37-yard line with 1:11 remaining in the quarter as a time clock ticked away. The first quarter closed with Adrian Peterson running for another first down, 11 yards to the Giants 26-yard line to end the first quarter. On the next play Adrian Peterson ran for another first down to the Giants 11, and then the defense for the Giants stopped him on the next two runs. Vikings Coach Levi Vick passed on third down connecting with Chris Carter who was wide open from broken coverage, and he was too fast for Giants linebacker Pepper Johnson to chase down, as Carter darted into the endzone for the score, tying the game at 14-14 with 9:55 remaining in the half! The man has had some season! The Giants won't be happy until they win another NFC Championship which is a sore subject for Coach Pizz. Pizz had the chance back in 2008, to win Super Bowl XI, but one man stood in his way, Oakland Raiders kick returner Dave Casper, who beat the New York Giants in overtime with a 100-yard kick return to win in overtime! Coach Pizz said, “That is not going to happen today because this is a much better team than my 2008 team, thanks to the draft.” With the score tied 14-14, Ahmad Bradshaw ran back an incredible electrifying 100-yard kick return for a touchdown, his 8th of the season, to put the New York Giants ahead 21-14, with 8:11 remaining in the half on a spectacular run by Bradshaw right down the sideline making the tilt at about the 44-yard line and then boogying through a tight hole into the endzone! Wow! Adrian Peterson returned a blazing 74-yard kick return for the Vikings. But on Minnesota’s first two plays Peterson was stopped, so on third down after losing 15 yards, the Vikings aired it out to Sammy White, but the receiver was spun by his own man which turned his direction toward the sideline, preventing the Vikings from obtaining the first down. This was a costly play for Minnesota at the 23-yard line forcing a 4th downplay. The Vikings were not going to risk the run, so they decided to kick the field goal from the 23-yard line to make the score 21-17, with 1:53 remaining and a half! The Giants called their first time out. With a wide-open field ahead of him, LIEFL All-Pro Carl Eller, who was incredible in the Vikings-Panthers game, made a sensational tackle coming all the way from the left side of field to tackle Ahmad Bradshaw at the 34-yard line! Bradshaw was literally gone for the touchdown if not for Eller making the tackle. On the Giants first play from scrimmage Coach Pizz aired it out to Odell Beckham Jr., OBJ< for a stunning 66-yard touchdown play to make the score 28-17 Giants, with 1:24 remaining in the half as the Vikings call their last time out for the half! With the half coming to a close Adrian Peterson returned a 47-yard kickoff for Minnesota, but time was winding down on the clock and Minnesota could not set up fast enough to get another play off, so the Vikings were forced to kick a 53-yard field goal to end the half with the New York Giants in the lead 28-20 going into the third quarter! To start the third quarter the Vikings will receive the football. Adrian Peterson again returned the ball 30-yards to start the third quarter, and the Vikings moved the football with two tough runs of 5-yards and an 11-yards by Peterson. The Giants stopped the Vikings twice, but on three other runs Minnesota landed at the 22-yard line with Adrian Peterson bullying his way. In this drive, Minnesota used up 13 minutes on the clock, bringing the third quarter to the 2-minute warning with the score still 28-20, Giants in the lead! The Giants may have scored a lot of points this year which led the LIEFL, but they gave up a lot of points also (138). The New York defense then saw a combined four straight tackles by defensive tackle David Diehl, and LIEFL All-Pro lineman George Martin, losing 13-yards for the Vikings. Minnesota couldn't seem to move the football beyond that 22-yard line, forcing a third down pass situation as the third quarter ended! What a great drive by the Vikings who after several runs battled from that 22-yard line. It took Coach Levi Vick to make a beautiful pass to Chris Carter for a 34-yard touchdown with the score 28-26, Giants still in the lead! The Vikings had no choice but to go for a two-point conversion to tie the game. Minnesota almost lost the opportunity with a lot of pressure on the quarterback until the star of the Vikings-Panthers game, Chuck Foreman broke Free in the end zone to score the two points to tie the game at 28-28, with 12:14 remaining in the game! Foreman has been such a clutch player for Minnesota! Giants superstar Ahmad Bradshaw wasted no time at all, Bradshaw exploded on a sensational and electrifying 100-yard kick return, his second of the game! What an unbelievable run! Bradshaw ran so fast that he looked like he was going to go out of bounds at the 40-yard line, but the speed of the board made him turn inward, just missing Adrian Peterson. Bradshaw broke Free for the touchdown with 11:06 remaining in the game with the Giants retaking the lead, 35-28! The Vikings switched it up. Minnesota handed the next kick return to Sammy White, who returned the football 76 yards! On first down the Giants stopped Peterson from gaining any yardage, pushing the Vikings for a 5-yard loss, pushing Minnesota back to the 29-yard line. Finally on third down Sammy White broke Free at the 26-yard line into the endzone for the touchdown to tie the score 35-35, with just 4:22 remaining in the game. On the Giants next kickoff return, the star of the game Ahmad Bradshaw ran the ball out of bounds at the 26-yard line with the score tied 35-35. New York worked inch-by-inch to kill the clock and force the Vikings to use their timeouts. Brilliant play-calling by Pizz as the 2-minute warning sounded! The Giants ran down the clock and left the rest to Saquon Barkley who exploded with a 27-yard first down from scrimmage! On second down, the Giants were pounded by the “Purple-People-Eaters” Alan Paige, Jim Marshall, and John Randle who pushed New York back to the 50, but on 3rd down Barkley exploded with a wide-open hole, then he got turned by his own man and ran into Jim Marshall for the first down at the 31-yard line for the Giants with 11 seconds left in the game with no timeouts remaining and in dramatic fashion, the Giants kick the field goal to win the game 38-35 in another spectacular showdown! The New York Giants will play San Francisco for the NFC championship Game. What a tremendous championship battle we have to look forward to and the Vikings will be back next year! The Giants did a tremendous amount of damage with their 12 touches for 535 yards and five touchdowns two of them 100-yard kick returns by Bradshaw. Minnesota played a great game right to the final seconds Adrian Peterson had 25 touches for 369-yards with a touchdown and he had 20 rushes for 138 yards on the ground with a 64-yard run. In addition, Peterson returned 231 yards on kickoffs, one of them was 74 yarder, but it wasn't enough to beat the Giants. The New York Giants (7-2), will stay home and play the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) who have been thrilling to watch. It will be quite a game. Miami, Kansas City, the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers! After the game Coach Pizz said, "We are ready to go against the 49ers ... that's going to be a hell of a football game! 10. Buffalo Bills (5-3) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) AFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME JANUARY 13, 2023 HAIL TO THE CHIEFS AS THEY EDGE THE BILLS IN A HISTORIC BATTLE! The 67-Big Men version of the Kansas City Chiefs lit the fire with 56 points in the AFC Divisional Championship Game as running back Priest Holmes does an end-around for one of four touchdowns Holmes had in the game. Holmes rushed 14 times for 177 yards in the game as the Chiefs produced 26 touches for a total 754 yards with seven touchdowns in the game! (Long Island Electric Football League, Long Island, NY January 13, 2023). Preserving history is a beautiful thing, especially after this game regardless of who reads our league page! For Billy O'C's (17-14), Buffalo Bills (5-3), they have to put on a show and take it to the evolving Kansas City Chiefs (5-3). Buffalo's notorious OJ Simpson has had some of the biggest games in this league, but today the Bills face an unpredictable team in the Chiefs and the Bills have to let loose and contain Kansas City's running game in order to beat them. Anything can happen in these 60-minute playoff games. We have been averaging close to 50 plays per game with each team getting two timeouts per half, but this game stole the prize with 108 points, with 14 touchdowns between the two teams in a historic LIEFL score, tying our 2000 record in the classic NFC Wild Card Game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons which Dallas won, 56-52! We walked away clapping after watching one of the greatest games in our history with both the Chiefs and Bills leaving it on the field! Kansas City is going to the AFC Championship Game for the first time in team history to play Miami! We repeat this for new readers who may be following our league. While it may mean nothing to our readers, the LIEFL has come a long way in terms of competition, structure, and record-keeping. We have computers now, something we didn't have in the 1970's, but we preserved every game played on paper in this league, and we converted all of our documents to the computer, it's astonishing! It makes the game more exciting because we have a historic database of records dating back to when we started the league, and it's crazy to see our handwriting as kids, and how our league at that time had the savvy to keep the records, which we have stored in one large bin. We love looking back to trace our roots playing the hobby. https://forum.tudorgames.com/forum/45-long-island-electric-football-nation-67-big-men-established-in-1972/ Once we rebooted the league in 2008, Commissioner Billy O'C started the LIEFL Draft, that was the key to where the league sits today. Billy O'C said, "To us this is the tournament of tournaments and the money is on the line. It is a great tournament for sure this season because everyone I thought I'd be facing has now been eliminated." The Dolphins are hungry for their 7th Super Bowl title in this league, but it won't be easy. Coaches Johnny Freeport Chucker, Paddy Brannigan, Levi Vick, and even our number one Coach Ed Viggs, have all bowed out of the tournament. There is a $3200 dollar payout to the winner and runner up! So it's Billy O'C's Bills and Dolphins, Matt Zoo-York (16-14) with his Chiefs and now Ed Viggs 49ers because he played them against Green Bay, and Joey Pizz' Vikings Giants who are still alive in the tournament. Pizz made a gametime decision that his pal and second year LIEFL Coach Levi Vick, will play with his Vikings! If Zoo wins with his Chiefs, he said he wants to give Viggs his 49ers back so that Viggs can knock Billy O'C out of the picture. It's a dirty game. KICKOFF! Kansas City Chiefs Coach Matt Zoo-York, said "How are you? Meet the Chiefs, who just played the greatest game of their career against the Buffalo Bills in an offensive war right till the final seconds. This one will die in the archives of the LIEFL when we go too, but the finish and play-calling was spectacular! It's the best game I have ever been involved in!" The Chiefs have not seen a playoff game since 1982-83, when they were crushed by Miami, 28-3. Kansas City went (7-7) that season and they currently have an all-time LIEFL record of (73-91) ranking them #19th in the Long Island EFL. They are a far better team now then they were back in 82-83. Two key players for the Chiefs have to come up big against Buffalo, Tyreek Hill, and Priest Holmes. Holmes has been a steady force this season for the Chiefs ranking him number #2 in the AFC, and 5th in the LIEFL in rushing with 47 carries for 618 yards with ten touchdowns, one of them a 60-yarder! The Kansas City defense will be led by lineman Buck Buchanan and tackle Damion McIntosh who are formidable. Billy O'C has to put a good defensive game plan together to stop these Chiefs because they are motivated after beating up on Tennessee. The Chiefs dominated! After a 33 yard opening kick return by Tyreek Hill, Hill was turned around by his own man, Derrick Thomas at the 33 Kansas City. The Chiefs had a settle at their own 33-yard line to start the game. On the first play of the game from scrimmage Priest Holmes exploded for a 44 yard first down to the Buffalo 23 yard line. After two stuffed runs by the Buffalo defense led by Bruce Smith, Tony Gonzalez was wide open on a third down play for Zoo York and Gonzalez ran 48 yards downfield into the end zone, after they lost the yardage to the Buffalo defense. Kansas City takes the lead 7-0 with 7:07 remaining in the first quarter. On the kickoff Buffalo's speedy Jay Brown ran to midfield behind Bills lineman Darryl Williams, and Brown scooted right and made an incredible turn right into the end zone for a hundred yard kick return to tie the game at 7-7, with 5:51 remaining in the first quarter on a spectacular play! Kansas City came storming right back with a Tyreek Hill 46-yard kick return to set up running back Priest Holmes. Holmes was stopped on the first two runs. But, on third down Coach Matt Zoo-York then connected with tight end Tony Gonzalez again on a 73-yard explosive touchdown to give the Chiefs the lead 14-7 with the first quarter coming to an end. The Bills fired right back at the Chiefs with a 42-yard kick return by return man Jay Brown. On the first play from scrimmage OJ Simpson busted loose for a 32 yard run to the Kansas City 26 yard line. One play later Simpson was in the end zone with his first touchdown of the game at 11:19 in the second quarter, Buffalo ties the game 14-14! Tyreek Hill exploded for 56-yard kick return after Buffalo scored, but the Chiefs could not get anything going on the ground on 1st and 2nd down. Kansas City's relentless combination of five runs from Holmes and the offensive line led by Chiefs linemen Willie Lanier, Buck Buchanan, and John Alt were an equal match for Buffalo's trenchmen. Holmes then ran the ball to the 28-yard line with the two minute warning sounding off. It's been an amazing line battle between Willie Lanier and Marcell Dareus. On 3rd down Priest Holmes broke Free from 26 yards making a nice catch and running into the end zone to put the Chiefs ahead with the touchdown, 21-14 with 1:38 remaining in the half as Buffalo calls their first time out! What an exciting first half of electric football. After a 50-yard kick return by Jay Brown Buffalo had no time to waste after calling their second time out. Billy O'C set up in 22 seconds and connected with Brown who broke Free at the 50 yard line on a great pass by Billy O'C with Brown tying the game at 21-21 with 57 seconds left to go in the half. Coach Zoo-York Kansas City called their first of two time outs. The Bills get the ball to begin the third quarter, so that makes Zoo York's play calling even more important right now because at 21-21, the Chiefs need to get at least a field goal going into the third. What a wild half! Zoo's Chiefs are on fire! Tyreek Hill made two huge plays for the Chiefs running the kickoff back 53 yards. Kansas City called their last time out with 33 seconds remaining in the half. Zoo-York then found a wide open Tyreek Hill for a 47-yard touchdown catch to give the Chiefs a screaming 28-21 lead as the first half comes to a close in a tremendous game with 49 points scored between these two teams to end the first half! Wow! In the third quarter of the Buffalo Bills will receive the football It took Buffalo Bills Jay Brown just 13 seconds of the third quarter to run back his second electrifying 100-yard kick return of the game to tie the score at 28-28! These Bills and Chiefs are scoring machines! After a 43-yard kick return by Tyreek Hill, Priest Holmes ran for 8-yards to the Buffalo 49. On the next play with that trap play that Zoo-York uses Holmes blew through the right side of the trenches 49 yards downfield for a touchdown, his second of the game. The fireworks aren't stopping in an awesome display of quality electric football! Kansas City takes the lead 35-28, with 10:51 remaining in the third quarter and there is no stopping these two offences now. It's a classic matchup! The Bills Jay Brown ran back another spectacular run 81-yards, nearly breaking free to the end zone on an amazing run! He was turned slightly, enough for him to go out of bound instead of running for his third hundred yard touchdown of the game. On first down OJ Simpson picked up 10-yards to the 8 yard line on a power run from that offensive "Box-Set Offense" Billy O'C uses. On second down Simpson, who's been unstoppable, ran it in to tie the score at 35-35, with 6:40 remaining in the third quarter in an enormous game! The Chiefs return the football 39-yards. Tyreek Hill was hit hard by Bills tackle Richie Incognito, who made his third tackle of the game. One play later Priest Holmes was stopped at the 39-yard line. On the next play Holmes took it around the left side of the field for a 61 yard touchdown run with this place going crazy in disbelief as the Chiefs retake the lead 42-35, with the two minute warning sounding and the third quarter! Jay Brown returned the football for 43-yards and on first down OJ Simpson ran to the 47 of the Chiefs for the first down to start the 4th quarter. Simpson had three first downs in a row with runs of 10 to 8, 15, 13, and finally he ran 9-yards for his third touchdown run of the game to tie the score at 42-42, with 7:32 remaining in the game on a big hit by Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas at the goal line! Not today! On the kick return Tyreek Hill ran a hundred yard return back for a touchdown! The room going crazy with nothing less than a stellar performance by both teams as the Chiefs take the lead 49-42, with 6:53 left to go in the game!!! Incredible! Jay Brown answered with a Buffalo 65-yard kick return and just one play later OJ Simpson ran his fourth touchdown of the game, a 35-yard run into the end zone on a beautiful trap play coach Billy O'C with 3:27 remaining in the game! Buffalo Bills 49 Kansas City Chiefs 49! This game is on a record-breaking pace with two minutes left to go in the game. Tyreek Hill ran back his eighth kick return of the game to midfield and the ball is back in the Chief's hands to control the clock. It seems no matter what Buffalo somehow has been involved in some of the greatest games that have ever been played in the league. With 1:39 remaining in the game, the Bills call their first time out. They have one more remaining as the lineman Dee Hardison makes a big stop on priest Holmes for an 8-yard loss! With time running out Kansas City used their last time out! On the follow up play Priest Holmes wasn't finished. Holmes unleashed a 50-yard touchdown explosion on a HUGE fourth down play, making the score 56-49, Kansas City in the lead with 50 seconds to go!!! Buffalo calls their last time out! Absolutely incredible on the last play the game Jay Brown nearly broke another 100 yard touchdown play running the ball back 73-yards until he was tackled by Kansas City defensive tackle Damien McIntosh to end this historic game for both of these teams with Kansas City winning the game 56-52! For first time in team history, the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) are on their way to Miami to play the Dolphins (7-2) for the AFC Championship! The Buffalo Bills had some impressive numbers with OJ Simpson running 12 times for 168 yards rushing with four touchdowns. Jay Brown exploded on 7 carries 481 yards on special teams with two 100-yard touchdown returns, and Brown also had a 58-yard touchdown reception! His numbers were huge, eight touches 539 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns! The Bills offense produced 707 yards with seven touchdowns in the game! Those numbers are record-breaking numbers! Priest Holmes rushed the ball 14 times for 177 yards with three touchdowns, including a 61-yarder. Holmes finished the game with 16 touches 213 yards and four touchdowns! The second half Kansas city's Chief Holmes exploded on Buffalo and that was the key to the game with great kick returns from Tyreek Hill. Everybody was clapping at this game because both teams played sensational. Tyreek Hill exploded for 420 all-purpose yards on eight touches with 100-yard touchdown as the Chiefs produced 754 yards with seven touchdowns on 26 touches! Just Wow! Miami will have their hands completely full with these surging Chiefs. Sometimes all it takes is games like this to roll to the top. The Coaches were speechless! 11. San Francisco 49ers (5-3) vs. Green Bay Packers (5-2) NFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME January 12, 2023 49ERS GOING TO NFC CG AFTER UPSETTING PACKERS 38-35! When Coach Ed Viggs was faced with the dilemma of both of his teams Green Bay and San Francisco having to play each other in the NFC Divisional Championship Game, Viggs selected Green Bay, winner of LIEFL Super Bowl XVI because they had a chance to repeat, but his 49ers would tear that hope down with the #2 Coach Matt Zoo-York playing with the 49ers! KICKOFF! Long Island Electric Football League, January 13, 2023. Thanks for reading! The defending LIEFL Super Bowl XVI Champion Green Bay Packers (5-2) took the field, alternate Coach Matt Zoo-York said, "Today, the 49ers are the top team in the NFC. How can you lose when you have Jerry Rice and Ricky Watters? Did anyone watch them beat Atlanta? We are coming to win." Coach Viggs could just say, hey those 49ers went from the gutter last season to being a contender this season. I made no changes to the team. We are a little rusty, but I have to give the Packers another chance to get to the SHOW!" The last time the San Francisco made it to a NFC Championship Games was the LIEFL 1982 season, the 49ers were (8-6) that season but they stormed through the playoffs beating the Chicago Bears 28-21 in the NFC CG, and ultimately losing to the Miami Dolphins in LIEFL Super Bowl VI, 27-21! This 49ers team is loaded with talent though, and their multi-dynamic approach to winning is due to the Coach Viggs, sitting across from the alternate coach Matt Zoo-York. On the opening kick return, Packers star Sterling Sharpe flew 43-yards into the helmet hit of Harris Barton who made a great tackle. The first two runs were turned back by this tough 49ers front line led of Randy Cross, Ronnie Lott, Ken Norton and Charles Haley, and on third down the 49ers came up with a huge play on defense stopping the Packers, forcing a fourth down situation. The Packers haven't seen many of these situations this season, dominating opponents on defense, but the offense has always been suspect. They have a worthy running back in Terdell Middleton but the Packers need different formations to give Middleton the best opportunity. Viggs knows best. The 49ers defense makes a profound statement early on in the first quarter, coming up BIG on 4th down again, stopping the Packers at their own 37-yard line and the ball was turned over to San Francisco with the first major play of the game at 6:49! When the 49ers took over they made it clear that this is going to be a game as Ricky Watters scampered to the outside for 14 yards on his first carry, met by Packers linebacker, Ray Nitschke. On the next play Watters picked up another seven, and the 2 minute warning sounded with no score in the first quarter. On their next play, the 49ers picked up where they left off last game with Dwight Clark sliding through the tackle and linebacker for a 23-yard touchdown play to put the 49ers ahead 7-0 with quarter coming to a close! The Packers struggled on offense after Terdell Middleton's first down of 15 yards. Coach Viggs is not used to his Packers playing from behind and he decided to pass, which is what he is great at. He will pass until he scores. In the LIEFL and in any league you have to develop a strategy throwing the ball, but your defense has to be able to defend against it. Viggs threw a bomb to a wide open Ton Hutson for a 63-yard touchdown to tie the game at 7-7, with 9:13 to go in the half! Like the rest of these playoff games in the Long Island Electric Football League this season the defensive battle has been fierce. On first down for San Francisco, Ricky Watters first attempt to run the ball we're thwarted by a hard-hitting Green Bay defense. Coach Matt Zoo-York, the alternate coach for the game found Jerry Rice break open on Packers defender Jim Taylor on the right side of the field hitting Rice for a 72-yard touchdown play! 49ers retake the lead 14-7, with 3:15 to go in the half with the clock winding down! Sterling Sharpe exploded on the kickoff for 64-yards but he was pummeled by Harris Barton at the 36 yard line of the 49ers with 2:12 left to go in a half with the 49ers and the Packers going head to head. On first down Coach Viggs looked to Hutson again on the pass, striking Hutson for a 35-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 14-14, with the half quickly winding down. On the ensuing kickoff Jerry Rice returned a gorgeous 65-yard kick return. One play later Ricky Watters ran 11 yards for a first down to the Green Bay 25-yard line, but Green Bay had no timeouts to slow up the final seconds remaining in the quarter. The 49ers called their last time out with 36 seconds remaining and one more try at the end zone. On first down again for San Francisco, Coach Zoo-York had a wide open Jerry Rice in the end zone who broke free but a pass would be too risky in the endzone with a Packers defender right next to Rice in the endzone so Zoo didn't take the chance in throwing to Rice in case there was an interception. Instead, the 49ers kicked a 25-yard field goal to take the lead 17-14 as the second quarter came to a close! 49ers get the football to start the third. To open the third quarter 49ers Jerry Rice returned a stunning 100-yard kick return down the right side of the field and into the endzone kicking off the third quarter in fashion, as the 49ers take the lead 24-14, to open the third quarter! HOOYAH! On the Packers next drive, the 2020 LIEFL Super Bowl XVI MVP Sterling Sharpe, returned a fast 46-yard kick until he was hit hard by 49ers linemen Fred Dean and Charles Haley. On first down the Packers tried again to ignite their running game. Packers fullback Jim Taylor were stopped by that hard-hitting 49er defense, but on second down Taylor broke Free to the right side on a Zoo-York trap play taking it 54-yards downfield for an amazing touchdown with 10:21 left in the third quarter! The Packers are playing come from behind with the 49ers still leading the game 24-21! Green Bay is turning on the juice! Jerry Rice returned the next kickoff 36-yars and San Francisco wasted no time after being pushed back 10 yards on a Ricky Watters run. Coach Zoo-York had coach Viggs watch his own 49ers destroy the Packers hopes as Jerry Rice took another huge touchdown down field on a 73-yard reception into the end zone for Rice's second touchdown of the game! Jerry Rice is playing MVP football in this tournament, sort of like Sterling Sharpe did last season. The 49ers take the lead stunning the Packers 31-21 with 4:59 left to go in the third quarter. The 49ers have been deadly in the passing game, and we are waiting for the Packers to put up some blocking for the explosive Sterling Sharpe. Sharpe with his blazing speed, nearly broke free at the 50-yard line but he was meant head on by Ken Norton who made his third tackle of the game. The 49ers are playing BIG, as a two minute warning sounds and the third quarter! Terdell Middleton ran for two yards for Green Bay after San Francisco stopped Jim Taylor on first down, bringing up a third-down situation as the third quarter comes to a close. And on third down Coach Viggs knew he had to come up with a big play so he connected with receiver Tom Hutson again for a 15-yard first down bringing the ball to the San Francisco 49ers 40-yard line with 13:55 left to go in the game! Green Bay mixed it up with Terdell Middleton sliding to the left from the 34-yard line exploding for a touchdown run to bring the game within three as the Packers score a beautiful touchdown with the 49ers ahead 31-28 with 10:41 in the game. The 49ers killed the clock with a powerful running attack with Ricky Watters at the helm driving slowly downfield. After Ricky Watters mounted the first down runs, he ran two more times with the clock winding down, and Coach Zoo-York decided to make his move with a pass again, this time hitting tight end Dwight Clark who came up with another huge touchdown catch for 52-yards to put the 49ers ahead 38-28 with the two minute warning sounding off. This game has left people speechless! With After another Sterling Sharpe kick return 51-yards past midfield, the Packers had used all their timeouts advancing into San Francisco territory. On the next setup Viggs threw a rocket to Sterling Sharpe who raced a 35-yard touchdown catch in to the endzone making the score 38-35, with the 49ers in the lead. San Francisco wasn't finished. They called their last time out with 3 seconds on the clock giving Jerry Rice one more opportunity, but Rice was stopped at the 32-yard line. In an unbelievable stunning upset, the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) showed their resiliency heading to their first NFC Championship Game to play the winner of the Cinderella Minnesota Vikings (4-4) or the New York Giants (6-2). There was no quit in the defending champion Green Bay Packers (5-3). They simply ran out of time and the defense couldn't stop the San Francisco offensive attack and Jerry Rice. The Packers just got outplayed by a great football team this season. The Packers defense held Ricky Watters to just 47 yards, but Jerry Rice was a wrecking machine for San Francisco. Rice had 8 touches for an incredible 470 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns, including two receptions for 145 yards. Rice exploded for a 100-yard kick return touchdown, earning him the game ball. The Giants or Minnesota will be a great game for the 49ers! The 49ers saw the ball 21 times for 592 total yards with five touchdowns to the Packers 24 touches for 503 yards with five touchdowns. Packers star Sterling Sharpe had 6 touches for 265 yards with just one touchdown. What a game! The Number 1 and 2 seeds are eliminated and Coach Viggs finds himself eliminated as well. Coach Billy O'C told Viggs that he can play with O'C's Buffalo Bills against the Kansas City Chiefs. L O N G I S L A N D E F L L I V E U P D A T E JANUARY 13, 2023 LONG ISLAND EFL
  12. Miami Dolphins (6-2) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (6-1) AFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME JANUARY 12, 2023 MARK'S BROTHERS STICK IT TO THE LOS ANGELES CHARGERS IN MIAMI'S THIRD CONSECUTIVE TRIP TO AFGCG! In the AFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME between the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins, the rematch was an exciting game filled with offense. Mark Duper runs a 100-yard kick return for Miami, one of three on the day that the Chargers couldn't keep up with. (Long Island Electric Football League. January 12, 2023). Just before the we cancelled our 2021 season due to the ongoing Pandemic in 2020, the Miami Dolphins beat the Los Angeles Chargers 32-27 in the AFC Championship Game, but judging by this season's incredible Long Island EFL Super Bowl XVII Tournament, there is a feeling of uncertainty in the league, considering the way the tournament is going, bound by more than one upset! It's a terrific rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game between Billy OC's Miami Dolphins (6-2) and Ed Viggs Los Angeles Chargers. Coach Viggs 49ers are now in the hands of Matt Zoo-York to play Viggs Packers so it is a big risk if Viggs losses with the Pack in the NFC, he losses all of his playoff opportunities if he loses this game and then the Packers-49ers game. There is a long list of heavy hitting players in this game, but both teams have a great balance between offense and defense. Miami's All-Pro's Jason Taylor and Larry Little are a force, and the Chargers equally match Miami with LIEFL Defensive Player of the Year Earl Faison leading the way for Los Angeles. Chargers Coach Ed Coach Viggs said, "This is a long awaited game because Miami and these Chargers are the competition in the AFC, and it's terrific to have a rematch because I thought we were the better team the last time we played, we just didn't prove it. Miami is tough and Coach Billy OC is a great coach. We just have to execute and keep the ball away from Duper and Clayton, but that's the thing about Miami, they are a quadruple threat with Csonka and Morris too." Coach Billy O'C said, "Viggs is the best so if you want to win in this league you have to beat the best. I might get not one chances, but two chances, but I think Miami will put on a great game today. I practiced yesterday with my guys on trap plays and defense. I think Buffalo may also be tough enough to put up a great game against the Chiefs. If my Bills beat them, I will give Viggs the Bills to play against my Dolphins if we win today. The Chiefs were very impressive against the Titans and they dominated them, 42-31. It's like any other game, when Viggs is playing, you never know what is going to happen." The tension was buzzing before the kickoff between these two elite teams! K I C K O F F! Los Angeles Chargers Super back LaDainian Tomlinson returned the football 34-yards untouched as he ran out of bounds. On the first two runs that Miami defense led by Jason Taylor and surprisingly Manny Fernandez came up huge on the first drive forcing a pass play with Coach Viggs going to the air early on. Viggs connected with receiver Lance Alsworth for a 45 yard first down, which brought the ball to the 19-yard line. Viggs then handed off to the big guy LaDainian Tomlinson who ran outside for a 15-yard first down, bringing the ball to the four yard line of Miami. On 1st and 2nd down Tomlinson was stopped and hit hard by Dolphins defensive tackle Manny Fernandez, who made his third tackle of the game. The Chargers used up the clock with 4:12 remaining in the first quarter. It's third down. Coach Viggs lobbed another pass to Alsworth for the first score of the game as the two minute warning sounded off, 7-0 Chargers take the lead! On the Dolphins kick return Mark Duper exploded for an electrifying 100-yard kick return into the end zone to tie the game with 1:44 remaining in the first quarter on a spectacular run, 7-7 game, BOOM! The Chargers decided to give the ball to Kellen Winslow Sr., on the kick return and he returned it on a speedy 51 yard play crashed head-on with Zach Thomas as the first quarter came to a close! After two more big defensive stops by the Dolphins on third down Viggs put it up in the air again, this time to Chuck Muncie for a 42-yard touchdown catch to put the Los Angeles ahead 14-7, with 10:07 remaining in the half! On the ensuing kickoff "Super Duper" returned a 40-yard kick return, and he was hit hard by Chuck Muncie who just made the touchdown for the Chargers on the previous play. On four straight plays the Dolphins out played the Chargers front line in the trenches. Miami's line were the boss with runs of 10, 11, 13, and 24 yards by running back Mercury Morris who took the ball all the way to the four yard line as the two minute warning sounded in the half. Miami is giving Los Angeles all they can handle in a great battle in the trenches. Billy O'C is played focused football, All four runs the Dolphins ran away from Earl Faison, LIEFL Defensive Player of the Year. On the next play Morris ran the ball in from four yards away with Faison just missing the tackle and Morris blazing by for the touchdown, tying the score at 14-14 with the Chargers calling a time out with 1:04 remaining in the half! On the Chargers kick return Kellen Winslow Sr., was turned around at the 30 on a bad luck play for the Chargers. They failed to execute in that 1:04. On a Coach Viggs pass attempt, nobody was open and Viggs took the risk and threw a 70-yard pass that missed Tomlinson as the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins are tied at 14-14 going ending the second quarter going into the half. Third quarter action: Miami will get the ball on the kickoff to start the third quarter Miami's Mark Duper returned the ball 40 yards for the second straight time to begin the third quarter. And that Miami Dolphins front line competed heavily with the Chargers as Mercury Morris ran for 6, then15 yards. On second down, Morris ran for another first down to the 30 line of Los Angeles as the Dolphins unleashed a fierce attack on their next run by Morris with a 30-yard scamper into the end zone followed by a wall of white jerseys as the Miami takes command 21-14, with 7:12 remaining in the third quarter! The Dolphins used up more than 7 minutes of time on the clock. Kellen Winslow Sr., returned the football again for the Chargers, this time to the 48-yard line setting up LaDainian Tomlinson for a big 21-yard run on first down, with the two minute warning sounding off in the third quarter. It's been a fierce battle in the trenches with both teams equally matched and balanced. Both teams have been able to establish a good running game. The Chargers let off one more run and the Dolphins stopped them in their tracks as the third quarter came to a close. Still Chargers ball! To start the fourth quarter LaDainian Tomlinson ran in his second touchdown of the game this time from 17-yards away to tie the game at 21-21 with 12:57 remaining in the game! The intensity is mounting and the tension is building. Both coaches strategically trying to gain the edge. Billy O'C decided to switch kick returners because he had great success with Mark Clayton and Mark Duper sharing kick return responsibility. On the return, Mark Clayton with blazing speed ran an amazing return right past Chargers defenders into the end zone for 100-yard kick return to put Miami ahead 28-21, with 11:13 remaining in the game with Billy OC going wild! Wow! That was electrifying! The war again in the trenches continued with Miami stopping the Chargers on two runs. Viggs decided to waste no time and air it out again. After two failed runs, on third down Viggs found a wide open LaDainian Tomlinson, who broke free from the backfield to tie the game with a 26-yard touchdown 28-28, with 2 minutes remaining in the football game! Holy cow Clayton did it again! The "Super Duper Mark's Brothers" are a force. Unbelievable! Mark Clayton returned his second consecutive 100-yard touchdown run, the Dolphins third of the game, to give Miami the lead 35-28, with the Chargers calling a time-out with 1:36 remaining in the game! Wow! One can never underestimate the determination of Coach Viggs, so Billy O'C played the kickoff by strategically placing his fastest runners on the frontline on the kickoff. Chargers returner Lance Alsworth has had a great game. Alsworth returned a speedy 57-yards switching it up, only to be tackled hard by Mark Duper. What a game! The Chargers use their last time out with 1:23 remaining in the game. Both of these teams have played a perfect game with this game coming down to clock utilization. They both ran the ball, passed, and the biggest difference has been on special teams for the Miami special teams unit who have been flawless. Guys stepped up to move the football when they needed to. On first down, the Chargers passed a 42-yard bomb for Lance Alsworth who scored his second touchdown of the game to tie the score at 35-35! No way! There is just 1:13 left to go in the game, and Coach Viggs took risks. His Los Angeles Chargers are out of timeouts, thinking he could get this game to go to overtime. Miami called their first time out with one remaining. What incredible game! This game is as great as the last time these two teams met for the AFC Championship Game. The excitement is overwhelming! Coach Viggs held his breath as he watched Mark Clayton prepare for the kickoff. Clayton with his sudden 200 yards and two 100-yard kick returns has been the difference in the game. Clayton returned the ball back 57-yards this time, to seal the deal as he's tackled by Chargers tackle Corey Clark with 1:03 remaining with Miami using their last time. And on first down Mark Duper broke Free for a 43-yard touchdown catch crushing Coach Viggs Chargers hopes for a second trip to the LIEFL Super Bowl, yet again by these Miami Dolphins, losing 42-35! The Miami Dolphins (7-2) win a wild one in Los Angeles, and for the third straight year Billy O'C's Dolphins will go to the AFC Championship Game to face the winner of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills in a fierce matchup! The excitement is tremendous! Billy O'C will have to decide who he will play with in the Miami AFCCG after he plays his Bills against the Chiefs. Unbelievable job by the Mark's Brothers! Dolphins win 42-35 upsetting the Chargers for the second straight year! The story of the day is Mark Clayton and Mark Duper who crushed the Chargers! Miami had just 16 touches in 60 minutes, but they did a lot of damage with 573 total all-purpose yards with five touchdowns. Duper had four touches for 223 yards with two touchdowns, and Clayton had three touches for 257 yards with two touchdowns! The Chargers simply ran out of answers for the high-powered Miami offense. They are a force! Los Angeles Chargers leading rusher in the AFC LaDainian Tomlinson was held to 82 yards rushing while receiver Lance Alsworth totaled 213 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns, including 119 kick return yards and 94 yards receiving. The Chargers had 25 plays for 492 total yards with five touchdowns. What a game! L O N G I S L A N D E F L LIVE UPDATE

  14. Minnesota Vikings (3-4) vs Carolina Panthers (5-2) NFC WILD CARD GAME January 10, 2023 at 7pm VIKINGS ANSWER #2 PANTHERS IN NFC WILD CARD GAME 31-24! A steady combination of Minnesota Vikings Chuck Foreman (#44) and Adrian Peterson crushed the top rated Carolina Panthers hopes in a major upset in the Long Island EFL NFC WILD CARD GAME. Foreman had 125 receiving yards with three touchdowns for Coach Joey Pizz Vikings! (Long Island NY, January 11, 2023). WOW! This year's Long Island Electric Football tournament has been an incredible tournament of HUGE upsets! On any given day! Yesterday we witnessed the Number #7 seeded Buffalo Bills upset the Number #2 seeded New England Patriots 31-24! Today the swarming Minnesota Vikings were the story of the day as Coach Pizz (15-14) Vikings banged up top Coach Matt Zoo-York's (16-14) elite Number #2 Seeded Carolina Panthers upsetting the Panthers 31-24, in a brutal showing of Vikings defense. For Minnesota, it was a combination of Adrian Peterson and Chuck Foreman combined for a 406 all-purpose yards. The pair exploded on the Carolina tough defense with some nifty play calling by Coach Joey Pizz. The Vikings literally held the Carolina offense to 17 plays and just three touchdowns for the high powered Panthers offense the entire game. That is notable, considering Panthers running back DeShaun Foster is one of the best in the league. Foster was #3 in the LIEFL in rushing with 48 rushes for 639-yards with an amazing 12 touchdowns, one of them a 72 yard dash for a touchdown. Behind that massive offensive line led by LIEFL All-Pro Kawaan Short, Coach Matt-Zoo may have looked too far ahead in the tournament as the Panthers fold yet again, but to the Vikings? Minnesota dominated the clock, and in what looked like a wipe out on the first two plays for the Panthers on the run, it was Minnesota defensive tackle LIEFL All-Pro and NFC First Team Pro Bowl starter Carl Eller, who makes the headlines, singlehandedly making such an impact in the game that the Carolina offense had to change their game plan. Eller caused chaos splitting the trenches open and beating Panthers tackles Nick Hayden and Stan Mc Clover to the punch every time. Pizz has been working these Vikings for weeks, finally finding the player base formula to deal with a team like the Panthers. Minnesota is coming off a a huge season finale beating the #2 defense in the NFC in rival Chicago Bears, 14-7. KICKOFF! Coach Matt-Zoo York's Panthers lost to division rival Tampa Bay in the last game of the season 21-17, but that was the first sign of their offense needing a boost. The Carolina Panthers have been knocking at the door for the last three or four seasons two of them being NFC Championship Game finalists, but today coaches thought there was no mistake in the opening 3 minutes of the game as to what this game means to both of these teams. For the Panthers they have to maul Minnesota. And, for the Vikings, they need to make a statement that they should be taken with high regard in the league. After a 41-yard kick return by Greg Jones the Panthers offensive line went to work with DeShaun Foster running for a 27-yard first down. On second down, Foster exploded again to the right side of the line for a 33 yard touchdown at 11:32 in the first quarter to give the Panthers the early lead, 7-0! Minnesota stormed right back like Vikings fighting for survival. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson returned the football 61-yards to the Panthers 39-yard line. Nobody knows what to expect from Minnesota. They haven't been to a playoff game since losing 2018, losing to the Arizona Cardinals 21-14. And before that, in 2017, Minnesota lost in the NFC Championship game to Detroit 45-41. The Vikings boast the #3 defense in the LIEFL this season, giving up just 89 points, tied with the AFC Pittsburgh Steelers. Coach Pizz took full advantage of the weakness and his Vikings (4-4) have now found themselves playing the New York Giants (6-2) in the NFC Divisional Championship Game, and it will be "all that". The Panthers defense came roaring right back to answer the Vikings and Adrian Peterson's running attack, stopping Peterson twice! On third down, Coach Pizz decided to air it out, tossing a seamless pass to receiver Sammy White, who busted free for 40 yards run taking the football to the Carolina Panthers one-yard line. One play later after some adjustments, Peterson ran in for the touchdown to tie the score at 7-7, with 2:30 left to go in the first quarter as the first quarter wound down. The Vikings consumed the timeclock! Minnesota's record of (3-4) could be a little misunderstood, because they were in every game that they played in this season. Let's see if they could stop or slow down the Panthers on their next set of downs. On the ensuing kickoff to Carolina Panthers kick returner Greg Jones, the 25th ranked all-purpose player in the LIEFL with 17 touches for 932 yards with three 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns, ran back his second 41-yard return. On first down Panthers running back DeShaun Foster ran for a 20-yard first down to the Minnesota 39 yard-line moving the ball fast as the first quarter came to a close. When play picked up it was first down when Minnesota defensive tackle Carl Eller made a great stop on Foster who had an open field in front of him on an attempted trap play, Coach Matt Zoo-York's special. The LIEFL All-Pro Eller took on two offensive players and that's some great football! After running for a first down for 11 yards, Foster ran through an open door, this time on another gorgeous Coach Matt-Zoo York trap play for a 22-yard touchdown run with 9:01 left to go in a half with the Panthers scoring their second touchdown of the game making the score 14-7 Carolina in the lead! Great coaching and unbelievable speed by Foster! Vikings running back Adrian Peterson on the following kickoff returned a 54-yard kick. Peterson had two successful runs of two yards and then 15 yards to bring the ball to the Panthers 28-yard line as the two minute warning sounded off in this exciting playoff game. This second quarter has been a great second quarter to watch. It's the Minnesota Vikings offensive line moving the football against one of the elite teams in the NFC and LIEFL. As play resumed, Peterson was stopped at the 38-yard line as that Carolina defense pushed the Vikings back. And Minnesota called a time out with 1:06 remaining in the half. On the next play of the game, As play resumed Coach Pizz threw a rocket to Chuck Foreman who exploded 38 yards into the end zone to tie the score at 14-14. Outstanding play and execution by the Vikings! Carolina star Greg Jones ran the kick back hard until he was met in a head on collision at the 43-yard line on a big hit by Chuck Foreman who just scored the touchdown. Coach Zoo-York went up in the aired it out on first down but nothing doing by a Viking defense who denied Carolina a first down, coming up huge! With time running out in the half, the Panthers kicked a 47-yard field goal right thru the uprights to make the score Carolina Panthers 17 Minnesota Vikings 14, ending the first half! The Vikings will get the ball to begin the second half and third quarter. To start the third quarter, Adrian Peterson exploded for a 63-yard kick return. On first down Peterson was stopped by the Panthers defense. On second down Peterson had a 4-yard run and that's when Coach Pizz decided to put it up in the air again. On the next play, Chuck Foreman broke Free again at the 33 yard line of the Panthers, scoring his second touchdown of the game on a great trap play which he broke free! Pizz was getting Zoo back for the Zoo-York trap plays earlier in the game. These two coaches played some excellent organized football and they know the X's and O's of the game. That's two trap plays in the game one for the Panthers and another for the Vikings with the score 21-17, Minnesota back in the lead with 10:26 left to go in the third quarter. Greg Jones returned the ball 51-yards for the Panthers to the Minnesota 49-yard line. The Vikings front line shut down the Panthers running game on first and second down with the power of tackle Carl Eller getting the job done in the trenches. On third down Jeff King found himself wide open on a great pass from Coach Matt Zoo-York, as King broke the coverage from 64 yards away blazing into the end zone to put the Panthers ahead 24-21, with Chuck Foreman chasing King to the endzone naturally, not turned. There was now 3:54 remaining in the third quarter. Wow! What a play! For Minnesota, Adrian Peterson returned another kick for 40-yards, and he was hit head-on by number 77. Before the Vikings can get off the play after the setup, the 2-minute warning sounded. On the next play, Adrian Peterson was able to get a first down run for six yards at the 50 yard line at midfield on the blocking of Carl Eller again. What a game he is having as a third quarter ended. It's the 4th quarter. If the Vikings can hold out, they would win one of the biggest upsets of the tournament thus far. The Vikings pressed on and pressured the Panthers defense. Minnesota continued their surge in the trenches with a 17 yard follow up first down, but then they were stopped twice by the Panthers as LIEFL All-Pro and Pro Bowl First Team player Kawaan Short was moved to nose tackle, making a big stop on second down. On 3rd down it was Chuck Foreman again who caught a pass. Foreman, the unsung hero, took it 32 yards for the first down to the Carolina 18-yard line. Foreman is having a day, with 9:42 left to go in the game. Coach Pizz called another pass play after the Panthers stopped the Vikings at the 22-yard line of the Panthers, and it was Chuck Foreman again who broke free to score his third huge touchdown of the game! Another fantastic play by Pizz with the Vikings ahead 28-24, with 4:54 remaining in the game and the clock ticking down! The anxiety is mounting for Coach Matt Zoo-York. He has been one of the top winning LIEFL coaches this season with 16 wins, and yet, his best team is on the verge of elimination, and being knocked out of the tournament. Zoo still has one more huge game ahead of him, the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Buffalo Bills, who knocked off the #2 Seed New England Patriots. On the kick return Greg Jones brought returned a 40-yarder, but he met a wall of Purple-People-Eaters on a huge hit by Linebacker Matt Blair for Minnesota. The Vikings then stopped the first two Panthers running plays with the Panthers losing 13 yards, stuck in Vikings territory at the 27-yard line, forcing a third down pass play. The Panthers called their first time out with 1:34 remaining in the game with the score 28-24 Minnesota looking for the major upset! Matt-Zoo York's last chance to topple the Vikings and put them back in their box was debunked when Zoo-York went to pass, only to find nobody open on 3rd down, and Zoo missed the pass play to DeShaun Foster who was wide open 20 yards downfield. The Panthers used their final timeout. We've never seen a team stop DeShaun Foster's running attack this season, and the Panthers front line met their match with these Vikings have today. It's the playoff's and it's anyone's game. I'm sure you have this in your league where it's too real to believe with one of the best teams in the league on the verge of collapsing with 1:05 left in the game. On 4th down, the Vikings defense and Carl Eller stopped the Panthers again with the score 28-24 Minnesota in the lead! This is going to be a major upset in the tournament. Coach Pizz called a brilliant game as we watch the Minnesota Vikings (4-4) kick a field goal as time ran out on the Panthers. Coach Pizz goes crazy as his #7 Vikings earn the NFC Wild Card Game win an explosive major upset beating the #2 Carolina Panthers (5-3) 31-24, in a stunning game! The coaches looked around dumbfounded and in disbelief that the Minnesota Vikings just upset the Carolina Panthers, but Coach Pizz made lots of changes at the end of the season on his front line and those Vikings are completely different team. It was Carl Eller for the Vikings who made the loudest noise in the game, and a shocker, Chuck Foreman out of nowhere played an incredible game. The Vikings will bring that big defense to New York to play the New York Giants as that NFC North Division in tournament play comes up huge. Coach Pizz said, "Zoo talked a lot last week about this matchup and I think even he was shocked by the outcome. Be careful what you say, you never know another coaches game plan, and our was evident by the score." Pizz still has two teams alive in the tournament and he has to make a hard choice between his Giants and Vikings and who he will play with moving forward. In the LIEFL once you have two teams in the tournament who face each other, the coach elected to play with your other team, gets that team to play with for the remainder of the tournament. For the Panthers DeShaun Foster had 11 carries for 119 yards with two touchdowns, but the Vikings completely shut him down in the second half. Foster had a whopping ZERO yards productivity. The Minnesota defense was only getting warmed up. Return man Greg Jones had five returns for 216 yards, and a big ZERO touchdowns on special teams for Carolina. Hardly the regular season Panthers we watched dominate. The Vikings brought the defense and the offense too! Chuck Foreman didn't touch the ball this season, but the CAT was let out of the bag today that defenses will have to pay attention to the threat. Foreman had 125 yards with three touchdown receptions of 38, 33, and 22 yards to lead the Minnesota offense. Adrian Peterson had 55 yards rushing with 218 kick return yards to power the Vikings to victory! What a game! 15. Buffalo Bills (4-3) vs New England Patriots (5-2) LONG ISLAND EFL AFC WILD CARD GAME JANUARY 9, 2023 at 5pm (LONG ISLAND ELECTRIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE. January 9, 2023). The LIEFL playoffs have been exactly what we expected, action packed games with our stars blowing off the FIREWORKS! It seems each season keeps getting more intense, more competitive, and a league with coaches, whose players keep raising the bar. Ideally a competitive league should have 8-15 coaches who are reliable if that’s even possible. For us it is a great few hours away from family and into the trenches of electric football which we are passionate about. Having a league with 32 coaches is our dream, but we will be retiring from our league by 2025. LIEFL Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker said, "Every coach who plays electric football is legendary, we just haven't heard of them or met all of them around the world! We have our own tournament, and the tournament is just as fierce as any tournament. We play for money because money sometimes brings out the best competition, but we only know how good the competition is when we watch videos or play the competition, that's the love for the game making your league what you want it to be." The Long Island EFL has a rich history, with a combined experience enough to talk about being experts in the greatest game ever invented for our generation. The important thing, however, is, we need to pass the tradition forward to the next generation and get them hooked. If you think you are the only one who is an expert in the game, you are not alone. It doesn't matter though, there are countless experts, and they are a dime-a-dozen in this hobby and that's the beauty of the hobby as hobbyists! The LIEFL is a league filled with savvy experts in everything from tweaking bases, to painting, to organizing highly competitive teams, by people who played organized sports who abide by strict league rules. Billy O'C said, "This game was born in 1947 and I was about nine or ten when I started playing in 1972. This is the one tabletop game that people have been playing for more than 40 or fifty years, and to me that says something about a game, and the people dedicated to playing it. That's the thing about electric football, it's not rare that people have been competing for that long." So far we saw the NFC West Division Champion San Francisco 49ers upset the NFC South Division Champion Atlanta Falcons 37-31 in overtime in NFC Wild Card Game #1. In the AFC the two-time consecutive AFC Champion Miami Dolphins just got by the Cleveland Browns 38-34 in the AFC Wild Card Game #1. Then we saw a great game in NFC Wild Card Game # 2 with the New York Giants beating division rival Washington Redskins 38-35, and in AFC Wild Card Game # 2 the Kansas City Chiefs were impressive. They brought an unstoppable offense and touch defense to defeat the Tennessee Titans 42-31! This AFC Wild Card Game is a highly anticipated one. Billy O'C's 2017 Super Bowl XII Champion Buffalo Bills (4-3) versus the 2016 AFC Champion New England Patriots. Both teams have an incredible history in the LIEFL. Buffalo Ranks #13 in the league with an overall record of (81-83) and New England ranks #24 with an all-time record of (69-84). That's 317 games played by these two teams. That is a lot of electric football. When Coach Levi Vick joined our league in 2020, he successfully transformed the Dallas Cowboys into a competitive playoff team in one season. “We were astounded,” said LIEFL Commissioner Billy O’C. Dallas hadn’t made it to the LIEFL playoffs since 2000. The league caught up fast, Dallas didn’t qualify this season and they are a terrific, exciting team. O’C said, “Levi Vick is a great coach. He came into this league and proved that he can coach, pass, run, kick, and he has a very impressive system for the way he prepares a team. I love his style. He is a little like Coach Ed Viggs, quiet and talks with his game.” So, today the story of the day is what Levi Vick and his New England Patriots. The Patriots have won five straight games. That is not an easy task in this league, so what did Vick do to get this team to where they are? Vick said, “I am only the new coach in the league, but winning is important to me, having won two titles in my old league. I can’t get enough of the game. I study players and coaches and take a little from all the coaches I’ve ever played, so I am like a mutt. These Patriots needed a lineman, a tackle, and a linebacker to be a solid team in the league because we are only allowed 11 of our best guys. I kept working at it from the first week to where we are now, and the magic is in the chemistry of the team. We are fast, tough, and we have a great player in Rob Gronkowski and if you are the opposition, you don’t want to go against this guy on the opposite side of the field.” The Patriots have just begun their rebuild, but it seems every season now the league gets better and tougher with more competitive teams, it’s unbelievable really. So, if you are interested in making a league work, one of the most important factors is having reliable people who have the same mindset that goes beyond the competition. They must understand the tradition, the rules, and the league has to have guys that put the substance of the league and tradition first. We love to read about the innovation other leagues have. The LIEFL cuts out all of the unnecessary time delays in our games to make the game a fast-moving vibrating board, peak performance and critical thinking, shorter time to set up, and we have a one-stop league. The offense has 40 seconds to set up in the LIEFL, we do not do countdowns EVER and we aren't waiting on the defense! We don't turn guys around to start chasing players after a reception by a receiver, which further delays the game. It is one stop to pass the ball-PERIOD! And the play resumes. A receiver is only allowed five yards distance between the line of scrimmage, and a tackle in the LIEFL doesn't happen when a ball carrier runs into the back of an opponent. It must be made by the front of the base of, or the side of the base by the defense tackling the ball carrier. Have you ever seen a player be tackled by a defense running backwards? Realism is our thing. We don't have time to do countdown set-ups, we keep the play flow like the speed of the NFL in our minds. We strongly believe in the natural free-flowing continuity of the game and how it happens without our interference, and we actually put the football under a player’s arm and have officially painted uniforms for our 32 NFL teams. We don't do countdowns; we are serious business. That's our league. We play for money, $1800 dollars to our Super Bowl winner, $1400 to the runner up! We are organized, we have dues, and there are non-wavering guidelines and rules, and professional standards by professional people in the league. We have awesome highly competitive coaches who are constantly making their 11-man roster work to be as competitive as they can, bending electric football’s concept of Who’s Who in electric football and what rules work best for the league. We don’t care about the National rules, they wouldn’t work in our league, too much time delays. Every coach is a legend. We care about who is the Top Dog in our league and that’s all that matters, the intensity, the time, the strategy under stress, the quick thinkers on their feet who can manage a ticking clock, a one-stop league that is as competitive as any other. BILLS NARRATE THE STORY OF THE DAY AGAINST PATRIOTS! OJ Simpson and Jay Brown came up big in the Bills-Patriots AFC Wild Card Game with Simpson rushing for 191 yards with two touchdowns! KICKOFF! The opening kickoff was returned 52 yards by LIEFL All-Pro Rob Gronkowski who we have given much press to. The Buffalo's Bills defense was enormous in the first set of downs with nose tackle Marcell Dareus making two big tackles on Lawrence Maroney. Maroney ran the ball twice and then Coach Levi Vick decided to air it out throwing a great pass to running back Kevin Faulk who gained 45-yards on the pass play, which brought the ball to the Buffalo 23 yard line. The Bills defense came to play, again stopping New England's running game, losing 10 yards. On third down, Vick conneted with Randy Moss who ran the ball to the 19 yard line of Buffalo, short of the first down. The Patriots couldn't risk the chance of making a first down on forth down so they kicked the field goal from the 19-yard line to take the lead, 3-0! New England nearly used the entire first quarter to score, leaving 3:25 remaining in the quarter. Second year return Man for the Buffalo Bills Jay Brown only had three kick returns this season, but he did a lot of damage, returning the ball three times for 231 yards, with a 100-Yard touchdown to go with the numbers. Billy O'C's strategy is hard to figure out considering OJ Simpson returned the ball 16 times for 896 yards, and he had two 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns this season. Brown returned the football 58 yards to get Buffalo started. The last time the Bills were in the playoff in 2017, they set major records and had major upsets! Before this game, Buffalo won 10 playoff games in the LIEFL, including a record setting Super Bowl XIII victory over the Detroit Lions 49-35. In that Super Bowl, OJ Simpson set a LIEFL record in a Super Bowl with 623 all-purpose yards with seven touchdowns, including two 100-yard touchdown returns (SEE THE FILM BELOW) as the AFC Wild Card team. Simpson had 205 yards rushing in the game and Buffalo owned a tough Detroit Lions who at the time were the defending Super Bowl XII Champion! It was an unbelievable season. This season the competition is much more gruff. Two plays later OJ Simpson bullied his way into the end zone with a 33-yard touchdown run to give these mystical Buffalo Bills the lead 7-3 with the first quarter coming to a close. New England needed to come up big on the next set of downs. They turned to their big man, star player Rob Gronkowski. Gronk returned the ball 32 yards to set up the Patriots offense. And, boy did Buffalo show up to play. The Buffalo Bills defense stopped the New England run on second down after Kevin Faulk ran for 10 yards on the first run. After that, New England hit a roadblock running the football. On 3rd down, Randy Moss broke Free on a spectacular play by Coach Levi Vick. Moss broke the Buffalo coverage and exploded 73-yards into the end zone behind a room of loud cheers as the Patriots regained the lead 10-7, with 8:48 remaining in the half! What a play by Moss! The Bills wasted no time. Jay Brown exploding for a 68 yard kick return to set up OJ Simpson and Buffalo's running game. Simpson ranked #12th in AFC rushing and #21 overall in the LIEFL this season. He carried the ball 48 times for 378 yards, with six touchdowns. Those are low numbers for OJ, but defenses around the league have gotten much better. On the very next play Simpson ran a 32 yard touchdown into the end zone to give Buffalo the lead 14-10, with 5:44 remaining in the half! This was a very important set of downs for the Patriots but Billy O'C's Buffalo Bills figured out Rob Gronkowski. Gronk on the next kick return was stopped again at the 33 yard line. On their first run Lawrence Maroney ran for an 18-yard first down. Coach Vick decided to air it out again because of the success he had with Moss on the first play. This time Vick connected with Maroney on second down for a 68 yard touchdown strike with 1:17 remaining in the half and the Patriots retook the lead, 17-14! Buffalo used their first time out. Billy O'C mastered the clock in this next series. Buffalo's Ray Brown impressed with a 70-yard kick return, but on first down OJ Simpson was slowed up on just a five-yard gain with literally 12 seconds left in the half. O'C used a hurry up set, but New England stalled, forcing a 30 yard field goal by Buffalo and the set up to get off another play was instead too risky given the time, as Buffalo kicked the field goal to tie the game 17-17, going into the half! What a strategic excellent half of electric football it has been! To start the second half the Buffalo Bills have the football. Ray Brown was finally stopped on the kick return to begin the third quarter at the 35 yard line. Brown was turned around by his own man. The Bills front line of Bruce Smith, Marcell Dareus, and Dee Hardison forged ahead with OJ Simpson running the ball in that "Billy O'C Box-set offense" eight times straight, with three of those runs being stopped by the Patriots. Simpson and the Bills drove all the way to the six yard line of New England and the two-minute warning sounded. New England's front three of John Hannah, Billy Yates, and Vince Wilfork showed up with some great defense in the second half, digging into the trenches with solid line play. The Patriots defense shut the Buffalo offensive running game down temporarily leaving the Bills with nowhere to run at the five yard line. Billy O'C instead hit a wide open Jay Brown in the end zone for the touchdown, to put the Buffalo Bills ahead of New England Patriots 24-17, as the third quarter came to its conclusion in this AFC Wild Card Game. Who would beat the clock? On the ensuing kickoff, Rob Gronkowski returned the ball just 41 yards for the offense of the Patriots. On the first run from scrimmage by Lawrence Maroney, Maroney met a wall of Buffalo Bills white jerseys stopping any forward progress for New England. They could not move the football. On third down, Coach Vick decided to go up in the air again, but this time the Buffalo defense came up huge stopping the Patriots pass attempt on third down. The Patriots were at their own 38-yard line putting coach Vick in it very tough and pivotal predicament on 4th down with 9:05 remaining in the game with Buffalo ahead, 24-17. On 4th down the Patriots decided to gamble and go for the first down, but they were shut down by a determined Bills defense! There is 7:20 remaining in the game. The Patriots turned the ball over to Buffalo from the 38-yard line as hope dwindled for this Cinderella New England Patriot team who won five straight games. Although they are still a work-in-progress for the Patriots, they met a tremendous (4-3) team in Buffalo. This is a major upset in the making because Buffalo is the #7 Seed and New England #2. Perhaps Buffalo was just a little too much for them being familiar with each others teams and play calling being their division rival, but trying to stop OJ Simpson and that incredibly tough Buffalo front line is a huge challenge in games of this magnitude. Billy OC played a masterful game here with the two minute warning coming to a close as Buffalo pressed the clock using the time up against New England and Coach Levi Vick. On the next possession Billy O'C continued to use up the time by feeding OJ Simpson the football, using the time up on the clock until it was 4th down. O'C then threw a strike to Andre Reed who exploded for a 45-yard touchdown pass to give Buffalo the a 31-17 advantage. The face of defeat was never shown by Coach Vick. He looked determined in his last drive. What a heartbreaker for the Patriots after winning five straight games, but this Buffalo Bills team is a very dangerous football team especially in the playoffs. On the kick return Randy Moss ran back a spectacular 92 yd run to set New England up at the eight yard line with time running out. On the next play, Vick threw a yard touchdown pass to Kevin Faulk to make the score 31-24, Buffalo! Billy O'C called a timeout with just 10 seconds left in the game. Jay Brown returned a beautiful 64 yard kick return to end the game in stunning fashion with the Buffalo Bills (5-3) upsetting the New England Patriots (5-3), 31-24! The Patriots may very well be a work in progress, but they put the AFC East on notice that they're back! The story of the day was the Bill's defense who limited All-Pro Rob Gronkowski as the Patriots folded. Gronk had four kick returns for 158 yards, but Randy Moss shined bright with a 92 yard kick return and 91 yards in receiving, with a 73 yard touchdown totaling 183 all-purpose yards in the game! The one thing we know about the Bills is never count them out! OJ Simpson had 14 carries for 191 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Kick returner Jay Brown came up huge! He was super, with 295 kick return yards and a 5 yard touchdown catch, totaling 300 yards in the game! What a game! Coach Billy O'C said, "We played an excellent game and hats off to Levi Vick for some amazing work he did with these Patriots." Billy O'C still has two huge games ahead of him. Miami will play the #1 Seeded Los Angeles Chargers, and we will see these Buffalo Bills again. Levi Vick's teams have now been eliminated. Vick, who finished the season at (13-16) said, "I feel the heartbreak in my first two seasons playing in the LIEFL, but I also realize that the level of competition is nowhere close to my old league where I dominated. I have faith in the Patriots and we will be back ready next season." The Buffalo Bills and Billy O'C (16-14), will now prepare for the Coach Matt Zoo-York's (16-13) Kansas City Chiefs, which will be a great game because you can't underestimate either of these teams! Kansas City will be the home team, using the NFL criteria for the playoffs it was determined that the two teams didn't play during the regular season head-to-head. Both teams were 1-2 in there respective divisions, so we had to go to best conference record. Buffalo was 2-2, and Kansas City was 4-3, giving the Chiefs the edge! Buffalo Bills (5-3) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (5-3)! L O N G I S L A N D E F L P L A Y O F F S 2022-23
  16. Washington Redskins (3-4) vs. New York Giants (5-2) NFC WILD CARD GAME JANUARY 8, 2023 AT 6PM (Long Island, NY. January 9, 2023). We abandoned all of the politics of Washington Commanders vs. Washington Redskins. We like the Redskins, and it will remain the team’s name. It has nothing to do with the views in our country. It has to do with tradition-PERIOD! We have to apologize to anyone who enjoys reading about our games. Believe us the writing is just a labor of love by various guys in the league. We wrote an entire write-up on the Chiefs game yesterday and it all just disappeared. It was so frustrating. That was one of the best game's of the year with the Chiefs defeating the Titans 37-31 in overtime to win the AFC Wild Card Game advancing Kansas City to the AFC Divisional Championship Game between the winner of Buffalo and New England. This game between the New York Giants (5-2) and the Washington Redskins (3-4) is always one of the most exciting games in our league for obvious reasons, the division rivalry, which is just as prevalent in electric football. There are several All-Pro's, voted on by the coaches playing in this exciting game. Washington's Mark May at tackle, LaVar Arrington at linebacker, and league favorite, Tony Green at halfback, and for the Giants it's running back Saqoun Barkley, kick returner Ahmad Bradshaw, in our news quite a bit this season, and lineman George Martin. The history between the two teams has been amazing. In 1978 New York took 3rd Place NFC Eastern Division, and in the NFC Wild Card Game the Giants beat Washington 21-10, then they beat Dallas in the NFC Divisional Game 24-17, losing the NFC Championship Game to New Orleans 21-17 that season. New York went through Washington in 1982 and 2016 again, beating them both times. The Washington Redskins are one of the winningest teams in the LIEFL with 113 wins with 75 losses ranking them #2 all-time in the LIEFL. This is Viggs 10th season that Washington has made the playoffs. Their moment was in 1984 in LIEFL Super Bowl VII against the Miami Dolphins when Washington's John Riggins, just like in real life, ran for 110 yards in that game with three touchdowns! Washington beat Miami that day 34-31 in overtime! What a game it was! Coach Ed Viggs has played the Giants enough times to know what he needs to do to prepare for this game, don't think for one second that he's not thinking about this game which has his entire focus now. The Redskins made it to the NFC championship game last season, and they know all too well being in this tournament as many times as they have, that anything can happen. This Redskins team made lots of changes and came from behind this season. They have one of the most explosive running backs in the game in Tony Green. Green was on the LIEFL Pro-Bowl Starter list for the NFC All-Stars, but he is also a force in the division. Green had 252 kick return yards against New York in Week#2, with a hundred-yard touchdown, but he also had 101 yards rushing, earning him LIEFL Player of the Week. Viggs focuses on what Green is capable of rather than the “what-ifs” of the game. The Redskins also have Charlie Taylor and Art Monk who can step up at any time in addition to Riggins as a short yardage back. GIANTS-REDSKINS BATTLE TO THE LAST MAN IN NFC WILD CARD GAME! LIEFL Offensive Player of the Year Ahmad Bradshaw, keeps going, returning this kick return 100 yard's for the touchdown just before the half, leaving the Washington Redskins and Coach Ed Viggs in a predicament. Bradshaw finished with 339 all-purpose yards with this critical return! KICK OFF! On the opening kickoff for the New York Giants, the best of the best this season, Ahmad Bradshaw was hit hard at the 43-yard line by John Riggins. LIEFL All-Pro running back Sequon Barkley and the Giants offense line led by All-Pro George Martin took over. Barkley blasted through holes opened for runs of 11, 3, 8, 34, and finally a 3-yard touchdown explosion by Barkley and the Giants front line to strike first with 5:48 left to go in the first quarter, Giants 7 Redskins 0! This certainly is not like the regular season battles we've seen between these two division rivals. It’s usually an offensive scoring bonanza, but this game has a defensive feel to it. Isn’t it amazing how these plastic figures perform? The battle in the trenches is intense between the front lines of Washington and New York. It took nine plays for the Redskins to score against this surging Giants defense led by defensive tackle David Diehl and George Martin in the middle. After a 60-yard kick return by Redskins halfback Tony Green, Green came up empty on his first two runs with that Giants defense shutting down the Redskins running attack. On 3rd down in the first set of downs, Viggs hit receiver Art Monk on a beautiful 16-yard pass for a Redskins first down! The next set of downs Tony Green was stopped again, and on third down John Riggins caught a 29-yard pass that brought the ball to the 11-yard line of the Giants. The Giants defense pushed Washington back to the 28-yard line and on third down Redskins receiver Art Monk again, broke Free again to score a great touchdown across the center of the field at 7:25 remaining in the half to tie the game 7-7! The ferocious battle in the trenches continued to rage between the Giants and the Redskins, unlike the past two meetings during the regular season, which the Giants won. On Special teams the defense for Coach Viggs knew that his Redskins had to put a stop to the best offensive player in the LIEFL, Ahmad Bradshaw as Bradshaw ran a 40-yard kick return on the ensuing kickoff. But one play later, the Giants were stopped again by Washington lineman Dave Butts at the Giants 40-yard line. Coach Pizz and his Giants moved players around, but on second down Sequon Barkley exploded on an amazing end-around for a 60 yard touchdown run down the left sideline followed by Ahmad Bradshaw on a spectacular and electrifying run! The Giants regained the lead 14-7, with the second quarter coming to a close with 2:50 remaining. The game’s intensity just increased as Tony Green returned the ball 37 yards on the kickoff for Washington. With time running out in the half, on first down Coach Viggs aired it out passing a bomb to Charlie Taylor connecting for 60 yards, bringing the ball to the three-yard line of the Giants! On the very next play John Riggins caught a beautiful pop pass to tie the game 7-7, with 30 seconds left to go in the half. The Giants used their first time out. Viggs is a passing machine! The Giants needed points before going into the half and boy did they execute. Viggs said he scouted the Giants well, playing them twice and making mental notes of what to watch out for. But no one has been able to stop Ahmad Bradshaw this season. On an incredible electrifying kick return Coach Viggs set up his speedy runners on the right side of the field thinking Bradshaw was going to naturally turn left to run down the sideline, but instead Bradshaw cut right through the middle of the field following his blockers on a blazing 100-yard touchdown run in an electrifying explosive run to put the Giants up 21-14 at the half! Holy Cow, the room erupted on that play watching this exciting player work his magic! Wow! Bradshaw has had an incredible season and that play topped them all as the clock ran out of time for the Redskins to end the first half! The start of the second half is about taking that intermission break of three minutes to revive the game plan, abandon it, or think quickly about how to get back the advantage in the game. The second half was spent killing the clock and keeping the ball out of the Giants hands. The Redskins devoured the clock using almost 11 minutes up driving down field. Washington’s front line continued the battle of the trenches watching Tony Green run the ball four times, and he was stopped all four times by the Giants wall of defenders, this time led by LIEFL All-Pro George Martin. The Redskins drove downfield with a 41-yard pass to the 22-yard line until finally Charlie Taylor broke Free after the Redskins were pushed back six yards. Taylor caught a blazing touchdown pass to tie the score at 21-21, with 4:49 left to go in the third quarter! The Redskins will not give in to the Giants. The Giants set up for the kick return with Bradshaw returning the ball, this time for 42-yards. Viggs was not expecting it, but Bradshaw kept the football on the first run for New York, gaining a 16-yard first down New York with the third quarter coming to a close! On the next two plays All-Pro Saquon Barkley took over with a 21-yard run and a 7-yard run to bring the ball to the Redskins 14-yard line. On second down the Giants front line of Leonard Marshall, George Martin and Michael Strahan gave Barkley what he needed on a stunning 14-yard touchdown run untouched for a touchdown, making the score 28-21 Giants, with 13:17 left to go in the game! Anxiety is building. Tony Green exploded for his best return of the game, a 62-yard kick return with the fourth quarter running out of time. A frustrated Coach Viggs looked on, obviously thinking it out. The Redskins killed the clock looking for a way to stop the Giants offense, trying to push this game into overtime. Washington lineman Charles Mann opened an amazing hole on the left side of the line for Tony Green to break through with a terrific 38-yard rushing touchdown, his first of the game to even the score 28-28, with just 9:07 left to go in the game The star of the game, Ahmad Bradshaw returned the ball for 49 yards, and then on first down Bradshaw rushed for 5 yards. On the next play Barkley took over and ran 21-yards for the first down. Then Barkley was stopped twice as the two-minute warning sounded off with the Giants at the Redskins 30-yard line on 3rd down. What a game! On third down, Coach Pizz stepped up and connected with Odell Beckham Jr., who broke free at the 30-yard line on 3rd down for the Giants, with Beckham Jr., making a beautiful catch over the middle for the touchdown to put the Giants ahead 35-28 with just 1:40 left to go in the game! The Redskins were forced to call a timeout. The Redskins played hurry-up offense with Tony Green returning a 43-yard kick, but they had to call their final timeout in the process to setup their pass play properly. On the next play Viggs hit Art Monk again, this time for a 57-yard touchdown play to tie the game at 35-35, and boy what a game it's been with 1:04 remaining in the game! The Giants have both of their timeouts remaining and they'll have one more go at winning this NFC Wild Card Game. The Giants got off their first play which was a 13-yard pass, first down to Ahmad Bradshaw! On a very next play coach Pizz threw a beautiful pass, but a dangerous pass, to Barkley who took it 16 yards to the Redskins 40. With no timeouts remaining and the clock winding down at 16 seconds left in the game, the New York Giants kicked the game winning field goal 40-yards! Giants 38 Redskins 35! What a game! All Coach Viggs could do was look at the scoreboard in frustration. The New York Giants (6-2) will play the winner of Minnesota Vikings (3-4) and Carolina Panthers (5-3). The two guys who have carried this team for the Giants the entire season have been Sequon Barkley who rushed for 168 yards on 14 carries, with two touchdowns, and Ahmad Bradshaw who touched the ball nine times for 339 all-purpose yards, with an electrifying 100-yard kick return for a touchdown! The Giants totaled 25 touches for 548 total yards with five touchdowns! Washington totaled 26 touches for 540 all-purpose yards with five touchdowns for Coach Viggs whose Redskins are now eliminated. Viggs said, "That was a great game. I thought I could beat the clock, but it didn't happen. Good luck to the Giants. Losing three times to them this season shows the class organization Coach Pizz has created. Maybe I will see them again with Green Bay." Coach Pizz said, "That was a terrific game and beating Coach Viggs is always a great feeling because we know who he is in electric football. The Giants looked great today. I would have liked a little more on special teams out of Bradshaw, but Viggs did a great job coaching the Skins." L O N G I S L A N D E F L P L A Y O F F S
  17. San Francisco 49ers (4-3) vs. Atlanta Falcons (5-2) LIEFLNFC WILD CARD GAME JANUARY 6, 2023 6PM (Long Island NY, January 6, 2023). Atlanta Falcons Coach Johnny-Freeport Chucker has been the talk of the LIEFL for some time. He never backs down from a challenge, and he is always ready for battle, but sometimes the hard-headed coach lets his talk get in the way of his game. Today he faces his nemesis, Coach Ed Viggs who you can bet has some great master plan when it comes to his 49ers. Chucker's Falcons need to bring their best game in this 2023 LIEFL NFC Wild Card Game. The last time these two coaches played a big game was when Chucker's Ravens beat the defending LIEFL Super Bowl XVI Champion Green Bay Packers in LIEFL Week #4 on December 6, by a score of 17-14. This game is bigger and we can't ignore what Chucker's main guy LIEFL All-Pro Gerald Riggs has accomplished for the Dirty Birds. In the last five seasons Riggs has amassed more than 5,000 yards and more than 30 touchdowns for Atlanta. He has celebrated too many awards to list, but Coach Viggs doesn't care about that, he cares about titles. Viggs looks at playoff loses and coaching. All three times the Falcons have made it to the playoffs in this league they bowed out in the first round. The opening kickoff was felt as Falcons LIEFL All-Pro running back Gerald Riggs returned a strong 41 strong yarder. Riggs was hit hard by 49ers running back Ricky Watters. The BIG BOYS offensive front for Atlanta led by LIEFL All-Pro Bill Fralic, Adrian Clayborn, and Claude Humphrey came to play pushing the 49ers around on the first two plays of the game, but they were able to stop Atlanta on the following two plays, forcing a third down pass situation which unleashed Falcons receiver Julio Jones into the end zone on a broken coverage by the 49ers defense, sending Jones flying 40-yards for the touchdown for the "Dirty Birds". Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker's Atlanta Falcons strike first 7-0, with 6:51 to go in the first quarter. Chucker went wild! On the 49ers first kickoff Jerry Rice ran back an impressive speedy run to the 49ers own 42-yard line. On the first set of downs for San Francisco, they could not run the ball in the first two plays. On third down, coach Ed Viggs threw a rocket to Jerry Rice who exploded for a 63-yard play, taking the 49ers to the Atlanta 10-yard line, ending the first quarter. At the start of the second quarter Atlanta again stopped the 49ers running attack, forcing a third down. Coach Viggs set up a pass play. Dwight Clark at tight end broke free at the 17-yard line to make a great play for a touchdown to tie the game 7-7, with 13:20 left to go in the half. Coach Viggs and his 49ers settled in and made their adjustments at the right time, and it balanced the game. This game turned into a brutal defensive play game and the battle in the trenches began as the two teams felt each other out. Coach Viggs and Chucker did some fast thinking in moving player matchups around. The Falcons started to move the ball. On the first two downs of the series, the 49ers pushed back Riggs after two runs of 18 and 7 yards. But on third down, the other Falcons running back Jamal Anderson caught a great pass by Chucker on the left side of the field and Anderson Boogied 43-yards into the end zone to give the Atlanta the edge 14-7, with 5:44 remaining in the half! What a play! Jerry Rice brought back a 42-yard kick return and on the Atlanta's first play from scrimmage Ricky Watters who blazed 42-yards downfield to Atlanta's 13-yard line with 3:12 left in the game and the 49ers called a timeout. As the two-minute warning sounded, San Francisco let the Falcons know it was going to be a battle, backing Atlanta up to the 16-yard line on second down with the score 14-7, Falcons in the lead. On the next play Ricky Watters broke free from the left side of the field and caught a great touchdown play for a 17-yard San Francisco 49ers touchdown to tie the game at 14-14, with 1:40 remaining in the half. Atlanta called their first time out. In the LIEFL a team is allowed two timeouts per half in the playoffs and Super Bowl in a 60-minute game. On the Falcons return kickoff 49ers defensive end Charles Haley came out of nowhere to destroy Gerald Riggs at the 30 yard line making an incredible tackle! Atlanta was forced to take their last time out of the half at the 30 yard line. What a game! Coach Johnny-Freeport Chucker did not look happy with his better team's performance, but Coach Viggs game plan was succeeding. Chucker was forced to pass and the San Francisco defensive line of Haley, Fred Dean, and Randy Cross were set in the battle of the trenches in the Long Island Electric Football League, which set up the most argued and controversial play of the game. Chucker connected with an open Jamaal Anderson with time running out, but right beside him was 49ers tackle Harris Barton who ran stride for stride with Anderson at the 38 yard line with 52 seconds left in the half. This play would have given Atlanta a comfortable lead going into the second half. The game came to a stop at that spot to determine if the tackle had been made by Barton. This game stoppage and argument went back and forth for at least 20 minutes until we thought the best thing to do was take photos and send to our rules Commissioner and former high school football legendary coach in Albany, New York, Pete Porcelli to determine whether or not Barton had made the tackle. It removed the coaches from being involved in the decision. The play would take the Falcons from the 30 yard line to the 49ers 38-yard line with an open field in front of Anderson to possibly score a touchdown. That's a big deal. We have real people making real decisions. After sending the pictures to Porcelli, a former professional Arena player in Albany, Porcelli made the determination that the tackle was made by Harris Barton because he was tilted in towards the runner Anderson (AS YOU CAN MAKE THAT CALL BY LOOKING AT THE PHOTOS). The clock would then continue at that spot, with 52 seconds left in the half with the score tied at 14-14. Chucker wasn't finished arguing. He contended that a side-by-side run is not a tackle in the LIEFL. He kept arguing with Porcelli for at least ten minutes. It's amazing what cell phones and texts can do today versus the seventies. In what could have been a very costly decision for Chucker, his Falcons time ran out in the half, and Anderson's possible touchdown was denied, so Atlanta was forced to kick a 42-yard field goal with no timeouts left to give the Falcons the lead over the 49ers 17-14, going into the third quarter! THIRD QUARTER: The second half opened with intensity from both coaches. Coach Viggs wasn't backing down and would not be intimidated by the Falcons or Chucker. His 49ers played better than they have all season long. They ended the regular season with a huge upset victory over the Los Angeles Rams 24-21 in overtime. The 49ers stormed 58 yards down field on a Jerry Rice kick return. On San Francisco's first possession Ricky Watters scampered for a 17-yard first down on a beautiful run, and then he was stopped for three yards. Coach Viggs decided to go airborne striking 49ers tight end Dwight Clark with a great pass. Clark broke free but was mauled at the 15-yard line, enough to give the 49ers the first down with 8:09 left to go and the third quarter. Falcons defensive tackle Mike Kenn made a huge hit on Clark. The 49ers got the ball back on 1st down when running back Ricky Watters exploded for a 15-yard touchdown run to give San Francisco the lead 21-17! Chucker received an unsportsmanlike 10-yard penalty for knocking Ricky Watters over after the play, and here we go with the trash talking! Nobody wants a game to turn ugly. This is what happens in big games, we are sure in your leagues too. With their backs against the wall the Falcons did not give up. Gerald Riggs returned a 59-yard kick return. From there his front line opened a beautiful seem for Riggs who had a 22-yard run bringing the ball to the 19-yard line of the 49ers. One play later Riggs was in the end zone on a beautiful split open run by the front line of the Falcons with Atlanta taking back the lead 24-21, with 2:21 left to go in the third quarter! In one of the most exciting plays of the game Jerry Rice returned an electrifying 90 yard kick return only to be tackled by LIEFL All-Pro Bill Fralic at the Falcons 10-yard line as the two minute warning sounded. What a game! What a play! That Coach Viggs is something else. Viggs used his reliable back Ricky Watters to run in for the 10-yard touchdown untouched around the right side of the field. What a great setup, 28-24, the 49ers back in the lead with 1:46 remaining in the third quarter! The Freeport Chucker was fuming! On the Atlanta kick return, Gerald Riggs exploded 46-yards but he was hit hard by 49ers safety Ronnie Lott as the third quarter came to a close with the 49ers up 28-24! Once the action rebooted, the Falcons grinded the clock, which was a great strategy because Riggs carried the ball five consecutive times with runs of 8, 7, 10, 0, and he finished with an 8-yard run for a first down with 6:04 remaining in the game at the 49ers 22-yard line with Atlanta driving. On the next run Riggs ran for a 12-yard first down to bring the ball to the 49ers 10-yard line, with the clock still ticking. Riggs moved the football trying to manage the timeclock. And on the next play Riggs ran for another four yards, bringing the ball to the 49ers six-yard line with 2:57 remaining in the game. The "Cardiac Kid" Coach Viggs, is going to play a high-anxiety game by not calling the timeout. Viggs let that clock tick until they reached the final two-minute warning of the game, which rose the stakes. It put a lot of pressure on both of these teams only adding to the anxiety. When play resumed, on the next run Gerald Riggs ran in from six yards out to score the touchdown 31-28 Atlanta, with the clock running! Wow! After a 54-yard kick return by Jerry Rice the 49ers called a timeout with one timeout remaining for San Francisco. The pressure was building with Coach Viggs 54-yards from upsetting the Atlanta Falcons in one of the most intense games of the year. The game was on the line and Viggs had to get to the point where the 49ers could get a chance to play in overtime should they run out of time in regulation. Coach Viggs, the master of preparation played his game correctly, and after calling his final timeout, the Falcons stopped the 49ers passing attack, forcing a 49ers field goal from 50 yards away to tie the game 31-31! The game went into overtime! OMG! The 49ers win the overtime coin toss!!! Viggs pumped his fist and Chucker, well, Chucker had nothing to say. After a 3-minute intermission with Coach Chucker now showing his emotion for losing the coin toss, the teams set up for the kickoff. Jerry Rice has been a thorn in the Falcons side the entire game. Rice returned an amazing 60-yard scamp to the Atlanta 40-yard line. One play later Roger Craig caught a Viggs pass for 30-yards which brought the ball to the 10-yard line of Atlanta. Holy Cow! It was Ricky Watters who ran to the right side and cut through the middle of the field scoring the game-winning touchdown to win an incredible game in overtime 37-31, the San Francisco 49ers (5-3) upset the Atlanta Falcons (5-3) in an electrifying finish! That's two great Wild Card Games so far with Miami beating Cleveland and San Francisco beating Atlanta! The coaches shook hands and Coach Chucker said, "Never count Viggy out of a game. What can I say he mastered the game. If you want to play the best you have to beat the best. The Chucker (14-15), left his men sitting on the field and just left in his usual fashion." Coach Viggs (19-10) said, "It's always great to beat Chucker. He's great for the league, he's intense, his teams come ready to play, and today was the 49ers day. I have a big decision to make because now my Niners play my Packers. I am going to play with my Packers and I am not sure who will play with the 49ers. I have to focus on my Redskins now who are playing the Giants for the third time this season. I have to figure out why I lost two times Coach Pizz by the same team." The 49ers advance to play the LIEFL Super Bowl XVI defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. Atlanta's Gerald Riggs finished the game with 21 touches for 319 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns. He had 17 of those carries as rushes rushing for 132 yards. San Francisco's Jerry Rice had 6 touches for 292 kick return yards and a 63 yard pass reception totaling 355 yards in the game without a touchdown. Ricky Watters rushed 11 times for 98 yards with three touchdowns!
  18. Absolutely fantastic and congratulations on this major project!
  19. CLEVELAND BROWNS (4-3) VS MIAMI DOLPHINS (5-2) LIEFL AFC WILD CARD GAME JANUARY 5, 2023 6PM The AFC WILD CARD GAME and first playoff game of the Long Island Electric Football League's 2022-23 Super Bowl XVII Tournament between Miami and Cleveland was a tremendous battle in the trenches with great matchups, coaching, and a strategic balanced running attack by both teams. Written By Kevin Mac with Billy O'C Long Island, NY January 5, 2023. Happy New Year to those new to reading about our league, and for those electric football enthusiasts who appreciate the hobby like us. The LIEFL saw a truly exciting year in 2022 and we hope that your leagues around the world had a great season as well! This is our second year presenting league coverage on this forum, but back in 2020 we used the Tudor Games Forum as a way to show the love for the hobby by writing an article for 114 games plus playoff and Super Bowl articles. We posted records on our league page back from the 1970's which you may find interesting. In addition to Tudor Games keeping this hobby alive, the hobby is being preserved also. People like Chris LeMay, Curator of the National Electric Football Game, took the initiative to take the game to a different level by having it respected world wide through the museum. The National ELECTRIC FOOBALL Game Museum is the home of the world’s first museum that is entirely devoted to preserving the history of the game and hobby of electric football through its vast collection of electric football game sets, game boards, teams, figures, and media library of printed and digital materials related to the game. This website is the internet home of the museum and is being provided to showcase and feature the collections, exhibits and displays of the museum as well as those of other members of the ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Community who also share in this love and passion for the game.https://nefgm.org/ This season we simplified and just wrote a weekly summary of our league's regular season games. When it comes to big games, LIEFL Coach Billy O'C (14-14) is no rookie. He had a great start with O'C's back-to-back LIEFL AFC Champion Miami Dolphins until Week#6 when O'C's team got a reality check against Coach Kevin Mac's Tennessee Titans (5-2), who Miami lost to 13-10 in overtime. Then the following week another blow was delivered when the Dolphins and Coach Billy O'C were outdone by second year LIEFL Coach Levi Vick, losing to division rival the surging, hard hitting, revived New England Patriots, who not only took the division title away from Miami, but they landed the second seed spot in the LIEFL Super Bowl XVII tournament. O'C said, "This league is not all about one person. Vick is a great coach. He plans and he's a very fast thinker on his feet and he proved that when he beat me to the punch with his tough Patriots. Any guy brought into the league by Coach Joey Pizz is okay with me, I trust his instinct." SHORT BACKSTORY: On paper the Dolphins are themselves a revived team after being the crem dela crem of the league for so many years as the winningest team in our league at 156-39, but it was Coach Billy O'C's ultimate sacrifice that made this league what it is today. Coach O'C's Dolphins played against countless opponents. They were a super fast team and almost every one of the player bases was tailored to sprint 100-yards so he decided to dismantle the team and use the best runners, for a greater purpose. O'C handed his stars out to warranting opponents in order to make the league more competitive, but in the process he turned his team upside down and he had to start all over and start from scratch. Those player bases became runners for other teams as a new foundation for the Long Island Electric Football League reinvented itself, with a little help from it's friend. Many lineman who were better at running than blocking from other teams around the league were also moved around to other teams. And boy, did the magic come together in 2008! Meanwhile in a three year span while rebuilding, O'C's Dolphins fell apart sinking to the bottom of the barrel in the league, losing 18 games in three seasons. It was payback for other coaches as Miami took a whipping, but they survived. As for the league, the coaches felt that a running game for each team was the key essential to success, and they were impressed by the transformation of 32 NFL teams. Joey Pizz said, "We grew up in a neighborhood that had close relationships. That closeness as kids was because of O'C. He kept everyone together and we all grew to respect each other. All we did all day as kids was play sports. But he rebuilt those Dolphins almost as good if not better than they were with new TTC player bases and amazing receivers from the Draft like Mark Duper and Mark Clayton." Billy O'C said, "The league started with the Dolphins playing against my mother. She is a legend in our town and when she died, she left hundreds of trophies she earned from every sport she played from volleyball, to softball, basketball soccer, and even bowling. She was an amazing international athlete in the 1950's. One time we went to Madison Square Garden, through my mom, we got to meet the Coach for the Cuban Women's Volleyball team, it was amazing and memorable. While I cannot recall every detail about our playing electric football together, what I clearly remember was her love for sports and knowledge of the inner workings of what it takes to be an athlete. She was the person who helped instruct me to understand the game. Then we became involved in organized sports at the age of eight. She knew how to set up plays, she played with the bases until she too found the right fit for every Dolphins player. From that point on I was living a childhood fantasy bringing these players we watched on Sunday's come to life because they had the uniform colors and they matched the legends. It was exciting. She was exciting! We came from a tin can with broken down player bases to finding the best guys to play at that time. My mother coming from Cuba in 1959, didn't give living with little too much thought. She just knew that when she heard the sound of that metal board buzzing, she knew that I went into my own world and was hooked. It kept the entire neighborhood out of trouble and the game took parents by surprise." Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker said, "In junior high I had issues with the family because I was always in trouble, constantly fighting with people. So I moved from Freeport Long Island which is a really tough town, to Bay Shore to live with my mother's sister. Billy O'C and the boys embraced me through sports with the neighborhood kids in 1977, and we've been friends ever since. Before meeting these guys, I never heard of this game. I was a basketball and football player. O'C made up the name "Chucker" because he ribbed me on the way I shoot a basketball so he called me "Chucker" because I had an off shot. That is when I discovered electric football and I was hooked the first time we played. We have a playoff ritual. Maybe we are superstitious, but we follow the ritual. That's where we are at today, building a dynasty professional league. We don't care who likes us, we like us, and what we are about as leaders. Playing for money is incredible because we have money. Our wives love that we are having a great time too!" Coach Paddy Brannigan said, "When Norm Sas invented this game in 1947, he must have had people like us in mind. He had the same instinct to do what we are doing and his compelling approach to the game he invented. I am sure his invention took him beyond the riches and rewards, he believed in what he was doing, and what he accomplished, so we feel we have to keep the hobby alive by creating Electric Football Tradition here in the Long Island Electric Football League. We respect him and this game and we won't let him down!" For big games like this in our league we go through an important process when it comes to player base bottoms. We don't allow alterations to any of our players or added weight. Coach Billy O'C said, "Each player is inspected to ensure the rules are followed accordingly, like a weigh-in before a wrestling match. Then the next process is, before each playoff game all 22 players have only the bottom of their bases, dipped in water and placed on a paper towel as their player bases dry. This process after cleaning the field with hot water with a paper towel, takes as many particles off the playing surface as we can. We then blow the field off to be sure there are no hidden fibers camouflaged. During live game time, this effort allows players to move swiftly without any interruption from any type of particles that may be left on the game board or underneath the player base ensuring the ultimate performance in the game." Coach Matt Zoo-York said, "We are very particular and superstitious about the game board itself. Everyone washes their hands before we play so the uniforms stay in pristine condition. As for the game, you'd be surprised what slows these players up during the course of a game only to find out it's a tiny piece of microfiber or hair particle or dust particle which can have a significant impact on a player's overall performance. That impact can change the game. A player may be at the two yard line with the game on the line and he may run out of bounds because there's a hair or a particle stuck underneath the player base. So in this league we do the best we can to ensure that it's done properly so that our players perform at a maximum level." We go through great lengths to make the league an operating entity just like the Pro's do, or the closest thing to being professional. Coach Johnny Freeport-Chucker said, "While I may be the renegade of the league, every coach in the league takes this ritual seriously, or we'd have no league. Picking talented coaches is not the hard part when it comes to electric football, the hard part is finding like-minded coaches who put the league first. Again, this league takes a vintage approach to who we are as a league and how important tradition is to us." AFC WILD CARD GAME: There were some amazing runs in the game, but this 100-yard touchdown run by LIEFL All-Pro Jim Brown stole the cake as he whizzed past Miami Dolphins defenders with fierce velocity in a highly energetic performance by both teams! KICKOFF Two great coaches face each other in this matchup. Cleveland Browns (4-3) Coach Matt Zoo-York (16-12) is the Number #2 Ranked coach this season playing against Billy O'C's (14-14) Miami Dolphins (5-2). There is nothing like the excitement and intensity of an opening kickoff for a playoff game! The Dolphins have won 27 playoff games and six Super Bowls in this league. Dolphins star Mark Duper hasn't played up to his rookie levels since the LIEFL Draft in 2019. Duper Ranked #25th in kick return this season in the LIEFL and #12th in the AFC with 14 touches for 736 yards with two 100-yard returns for touchdowns. , but he poured it on in the last game against New England and he showed up today contributing 244 yards to Miami's offense. Cleveland's star All-Pro Jim Brown Ranked #17th in the LIEFL in all-purpose yards, tore up the AFC in all-purpose yards with 24 touches for 1116 yards with five touchdowns, four of them 100-yard returns! On the opening kick off Duper exploded for a 41-yard kick return before he was hit head on by LIEFL ALL-Pro Clay Matthews Sr., who put Miami on notice that these are not the same Browns who the Buffalo Bills embarrassed in their playoff romp over the Browns 42-14 in the AFC Divisional Championship Game in 2017. These Cleveland Browns came to play, but Miami rose to the occasion, it's the playoffs and anyone's game! Miami was pushed back 15 yards by the Cleveland defense led by defensive end LIEFL All-Pro's Kam Wimbley and Clay Matthews Sr., who forced Miami to kick a 44-yard field goal giving the Dolphins the lead, 3-0! On the Browns first possession Cleveland's star LIEFL All-Pro Jim Brown ran back a 40-yard kick return with speed and power until he was mat by Miami defensive end and All-Pro Jason Taylor, who had four tackles in the game. The Browns frontline dominated Jason Taylor in the first set of downs, but the Dolphins and coach Billy O'C made immediate adjustments but it didn't stop the Browns. Cleveland running back Mike Pruitt has been steady and reliable the entire year, as he followed the blocking of the Browns middle man in the trenches, Simon Fraser. Fraser opened a beautiful hole around Miami lineman Bob Kuechenberg for a huge 16-yard first down by Mike Pruitt. One play later Pruitt busted free 44 yards into the end zone with a seeping hole on the left side of Miami's front line, 7-3 Cleveland takes the lead with two-minutes left in the first quarter action. In the opening of the second quarter, it was Mark Duper who returned the ball back to the same place he did on the opening kickoff for Miami, at the 41 yard line. The Dolphins offensive line led by LIEFL All-Pro Larry Little took charge opening holes for Dolphins running back Mercury Morris of 3 yards, 16, 15, and then Morris ran in a 25-yard touchdown to put the Dolphins ahead 10-7, with 11:45 left to go in a half. On the Browns kick return, Jimmy Brown took an explosive kick return back 100-yards into the Dolphins endzone to put the battling Browns up 14-10! Wow! Jim Brown's electrifying run is just what the Cleveland needed! What a game with 10:35 left to go in a half! On Miami's next possession they calmed down and their offensive line dug in. The Dolphins started playing like AFC champions returning to the Big show driving the ball 59 yards downfield with the Miami front three in the trenches opening huge hole for Mercury Morris with runs of 24, 27, and finally another touchdown from Mercury Morris on a 7-yard run putting the Dolphins up 17-14 with 307 left to go in a half! The fireworks are building! Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor made a great tackle on Jim Brown stopping him for at the 41-yard line on the kick return, and after a three yard run by Mike Pruitt, with time running out the Browns tied the game 17-17 with an amazing 65 yard field goal as the first half came to a close with two evenly matched teams. The second half opened with Jim Brown running the ball back 58-yards on the kick return. The Dolphins defense came up big again on the first two plays for the Browns stopping them at the line of scrimmage and pushing them back 5 yards to the 47-yard line of Miami. On 3rd down coach Maloney decided to go up in the air to Kellen Winslow Jr., which turned into a 42-yard connection and first down for the Browns, bringing the Browns to the 5 yard line of the Dolphins with 9:39 left to go in the third quarter! That setup from Winslow was enough to put Mike Pruitt into the end zone for his second time in the game from 5 yards away giving the Browns a 24-17 lead, with 8:10 remaining in the third quarter! Wow again! The excitement and anxiety kept building. These two teams laid it all on the line with ferocity! Miami came fighting back with a Mark Duper 54-yard kick return, his fourth kick return of the game. But it was the Dolphin front line of Larry Little, Jason Taylor, and Bob Kuechenberg who battled in the trenches. One play after Duper's return, Mercury Morris did a gorgeous end around sweep 43 yards around the right side of the Browns defense, then he cut back into the center of the field scoring his third touchdown of the game to tie the game at 24-24, with 3:21 left to go in the third quarter! What a game and what a matchup! As the the third quarter came to a close Miami's defense stopped Browns running back Mike Pruitt on his first two runs with the score remaining tied 24-24, going into the 4th quarter. Cleveland called pass but Miami's defense came alive and they stopped the Browns on 3rd down with Cleveland exactly where they need to be for a field goal forcing fourth down, because the LIEFL rule states, no team shall attempt to kick a field goal from more than 65 yards away. We set that mark because the Longest NFL field goal was 65 yards as we mentioned in one of our earlier articles. The Browns missed the field goal attempt turned the ball back over to a hungry Miami offense at the Cleveland 35-yard line, which was the turning point of the game with perhaps Coach Zoo-York's biggest mistake of the game because the Browns failed to execute. That inability to execute for the Browns is a something they have to learn from if they want to win playoff games in this league. When Miami got the ball back Browns tackle Jerry Sherk stopped Mercury Morris on his first run for a three yard loss, but on second down Morris gained that yardage back plus another six to bring the Dolphins to the 30-yard line of Cleveland. On 3rd down Billy O'C fired a rocket to a wide open Mark Duper for the score, making it Dolphins 31 Browns 24, with 9:34 remaining in the game! Jim Brown's sixth return of the game was 39 yd. The Browns with 3 minutes left to go in the game and the Browns went all the way downfield to the dolphin 42 where Mike Pruitt broke free on the left hand side of the field for a 42-yard touchdown run his third of the game to tie the score 3131 at the 3-minute Mark This game is going to turn into a heartbreaker for somebody as Cleveland calls a timeout with 2:24 remaining in the game and the Dolphins will start at their own 35 to try to win this AFC Wild Card Game. One thing's for sure, this rebuilt Browns team has made a clear statement that they will be part of the postseason, and boy, Mike Pruitt really has played tremendous along with this Cleveland Brown teammates. After that Browns time out, Mercury Morris blasted through the right corner of the line 51-yards behind the blocking of Zack Thomas and tackle Manny Fernandez for a Miami touchdown with 1:48 left in the game with the Dolphins in the lead 38-31! With time running out and no timeouts left Cleveland had only one choice and that was to pass the football so they after a Jim Brown 51 yard kick return, Zoo-York connected with Brown for a 21-yard reception for a first down, but it wasn't enough to score a touchdown with just seconds left on the clock, the Cleveland Browns (4-4), kicked a field goal in defeat, losing to the Miami Dolphins (6-2) in the AFC Wild Card Game 38-34! Cleveland played enormous! As a team the Browns had 19 touches for 559 total yards with four touchdowns in damage, but it was Miami who limited them in the second half. Running back Mike Pruitt finished the game with 10 rushes for 125 yards with three touchdown runs of 44, 5, and 42 yards against an elite team. Jim Brown had a super game with 8 touches for 394 yards, including his electrifying 100-yard kick return for a touchdown. The Browns are on coaches radar throughout the league, and they are maybe one or two players short of being a Super Bowl team! Coach Matt Zoo-York will go on the hunt in the LIEFL February Draft to get this team to the next level again. Miami's Mercury Morris finished the day with 16 rushes for 264 yards against one of the best defenses in the league. Morris also had four touchdowns of 24, 7, 43 and 51 yards in the game. Miami heads to Los Angeles for the AFC Divisional Championship Game to battle with the Chargers in a rematch of their 2020 of their AFC Championship Game, which Miami won 32-27! Miami was impressive. They had 22 touches for 508 yards in a game with five touchdowns. Coach Billy O'C said, "To me it isn't about the money. When you play in this league, reality is, to win we have to beat Coach Viggs, so it's best to plan for his Chargers the way I did last time. Imagine, Viggs has all four of his teams in the playoffs and all of them are great teams. We have to focus, take away opportunities from his running back LaDainian Tomlinson, and we cannot afford to make any mistakes against this coach because he will make you pay dearly."
