TVEFL TREASURE BOWL VII highlights
Coach Shawn replied to Coach Shawn's topic in The Highlight Reel – Video Gallery
The broncos missed a FG on their first drive. My Warhawks started with this good run by Lou Partlow on 1st down. IMG_2262.MOV The Broncos Defense stiffened and I punted. I then got the first turnover by interception. IMG_2275.MOV IMG_2276.MOV- 10 replies

TVEFL TREASURE BOWL VII highlights

Normally This would be a head to head game but Coach Blaine is both working full time and attending college so he graciously offered to have me play the game solitaire so we could get the season wrapped up.- 10 replies

Kurt Warner 90 yard Hail Mary
Coach Shawn replied to Coach Shawn's topic in The Highlight Reel – Video Gallery
The field is a Tudor Ultimate field. I use the plugin to power the two motors (it comes with only one). My teams are tweaked and weighted to 4 oz. -
How do you research player skin tones?
Coach Shawn replied to Coach Shawn's topic in Figure Painting and Detailing
Thanks I will check out that site. It looks like it will definitely help. -
The hardest thing, for me anyway, is identifying appropriate skin tones for my historical teams. I usually check online for team pictures. And then go to looking up individual players names to try to find pics showing the skintone. Unfortunately pics ate harder to come by than you would think. is there a site or method you use?

Good idea, I’ll try to get one posted soon.

Your description of OPI is spot on with ours. The first aspect of this play is that it is the defender who runs into the receiver so in most cases it would be DPI. As you said it does boil down to whether the receiver is still heading for the ball. Taking the receivers expected turn into account is where the difficulty lies when determining whether or not he is still “making a play” for the ball. I had expected this receiver to curve to the left. He is slow in doing this and I agree that it appears he will miss the ball marker. But by how much must he miss it to be no longer considered the primary for the pass? That is the hard question for me.

Is it a magnetic field cover?
-
Sorry…the red team is offense.

I love using Stick Passing rules but there are tricky situations that occasionally come up. The hardest to define, in my opinion, is Offensive Pass Interference. Here is the play, you make the call. The contact occurs more than a base length from the ball marker. IMG_1982.MOV

Game Venues - Where do you go to play Electric Football?
Coach Shawn replied to NO Dave's topic in Strategy and Gameplay
I have played at our local wargame shop. The owner has shown a lot of interest in our league and invited us to play there. I asked him if the noise would be to much of a distraction for the wargamers playing at their hobby. He laughed it off saying no. I have only played there once but it was enjoyable and drew many questions from the crowd, although none ended up joining the league. -
Vintage Electric Football Photos
Coach Shawn replied to nefgm.org's topic in The Showcase – Photo Gallery
I think photos like this one are important to the story of electric football. Most people today do not even know what electric football is and so if course have no idea of what a phenomenon EF was in the 50’s thru the 70’s. pics like this speak to this.- 1 reply

Does anyone still have the plastic line of scrimmage divider Tudor sold in the 70’s? i lost mine years ago. But I made my own out of bass wood -

I agree with this -
My daughter found a Gotham 883 field (1970). It had 9 white figures and 9 yellow figures all in great shape. Did a few scrimmage plays with them against my Nevada Aliens (Tudor figs and bases). Watch the Alien’s right looper, on both plays he dominates. IMG_1868.MOV So may do a full game one of these days.

Coach Shawn replied to NO Dave's topic in Playing Solitaire
Great tips. -
Yes, the Tudor’s Ultimate board is great! I would have a hard time going back to a smaller board.
-
It might be your motor that is not working and not the controller. my field stopped running and I at first blamed the controller but later found that other controllers failed to run the field. I had to open the motor to find the reason mine stopped working. One of the electric wires had disconnected. All I had to do was re-solder the wire and it worked good as new.

Lions take my solitaire league Title
Coach Shawn replied to Coach Shawn's topic in The Highlight Reel – Video Gallery
I thought I would explain my comments in the video. R3 and R4 is my way of identifying the play called randomly by dice. R means it is a Run play. The number identifies the hole that the runner must be aimed to move through. the pic shows how I number the holes (Odd numbers to left of center with even numbers to the right.)- 1 reply
