  1. Another recent addition to the Musuem. Gotham side line crew. Somewhat rare and hard to find.
  2. The Gale Sayers autograph is printed. The Don Kingston autograph is real. The significance of "Kevin's Field" Some other interesting things to note.
  3. A recent acquisitions of the Musuem. 1978 Gale Sayers Football Board Game In addition to Electric Football, I collect other football board games. It is in very good condition. Play results are determined using a deck of regular playing cards. Here is a reference pic of the game in the book "Retro Football Games" by Steve Anderson. Apparently, the original deck of cards (which is missing from the game) had a graphic backing of the Gale Sayers graphic used on the cover of the box. All in all, a very nice-looking game and looks like it would be fun to play.
  4. Beenutt can make any decals you want. You just have to ask.
  5. Don't remember if I have posted this before, but just in case here it is again. This is from a board game at a time when the play clock was 30 seconds. It could easily be adapted to today's 40 second play clock.
  6. There are people who can make decals for any team. Pricey some times but worth it if that is really what you want. I used to print my own decals by adding the background color and trying to match as closely as possible and then painting as close as possible to the white areas so that if the color was off it was unnoticible as possible.
  7. Here's is another interesting and cool uniform site. Thanks to Greg Davis for posting this on Facebook. Gridiron Garb 1956 Rhode Island Rams for my upcoming Yankee Conference league. They only wore white jerseys that year and had the strange combo of helmet stripes and ram horns. Thanks to the great Gridiron Garb for inspiration! I did a lot of research to get a proper starting lineup.
  8. The NFL rules regarding the snap, putting the ball in play and a backward pass. The offensive team must put the ball in play with a snap. The snap may be made by any offensive player who is on the line of scrimmage. It is not necessary that the snap be between the snapper’s legs. A snap is a backward pass. The snap must be received by a player who is not on the line at the snap, A runner may throw a backward pass at any time. I guess the real question should be: Why do we make things illegal in electric football that are legal in real football?
  9. https://fb.watch/l77oaq-2wo/ So, somebody tell me why this cannot be done in electric football?
  10. Remove the screw, lay the field cover and cut out the hole with an Xacto knife before replacing the screw. I have only used a field cover on a game board with the screw once (on a Snickers Shock Zone to make it a field for my Arena League Nashville Kats.)
  11. The Playing surface of the 6072 Super Bowl game boards are 32 3/8 inches x 16 inches. Therefore, you should get a 32" x 16".
  12. Very seldom, like none!! It just doesn't happen that often even in the NFL. I did find an instance where the NFL went the entire 1943 season without a safety being scored. For it to happen in solitaire electric football play, it almost has to be an instance of stopping the board to pass with the QB in the end zone and in the pocket with no eligible receiver open. Basically, a coverage sack in the end zone. It really just depends on if your game play allows for things to occur that would normally be considered a safety in real football.
  13. I know there is a discussion about "pressure" sticks on here somewhere. Looking for the length of them.
  14. I think that is the first time I have seen that particular piece of paper. Here are some examples form other rules books. Below is what is stated in the 1949 rule book. This is from a 1959 rule book. 1962 when the first bases with legs were made. 1965/66 Rule book 1978 Rule Book in regard to TTC Bases Here is the first known instance of "boiling" from the 1955 Gotham instructional book.
  15. They are plastic trays that are used to place a player in to make them stationary.
  16. Here's another collection of the museum and its evaluation. The Cliff Mitchell Collection.pdf
  17. Many different ways to play the play the game. Check out the Solitaire Rules section of the NEFGM Library for some of the different rules that solitaire coaches use. Solitaire League Rules – The National Electric Football Game Museum (nefgm.org) The main thing is to "just have fun and play the game".
  18. Never used a cigar box for my electric football teams but did have one that I kept a baseball card collection in for years.
  19. I worked in Museums and in fabricating and installing museum exhibits for 14 1/2 years, Never heard of the stuff!!
  20. Absolutely awesome idea!! Love the figures. I use Clear general purpose silicone caulk to attach figures. it can easily be removed later in case you want to use the figures for something else.
