  1. I keep finding my way back to this post...awesome collection...to quote you coach DimeGuy...As a college guy, I’ve really been into collecting all the college teams and so with all the new teams coming out today, I decided I’ll show off what I’ve got so far. I ordered a few more teams today and will do my best to try to collect every team... I wish you good luck and God's speed on that. I once considered collecting all the college teams but it was too daunting a task. With the inclusion of the Houston Oilers, my solitaire league consists of them with the currently active NFL teams for a total of 33 and if you really want to get nitpicky, I have a silver and black fantasy team that I named after a local Dallas college although their real colors are green and yellow, big surprise. They do not have a football program, but the Richland Community College Thunder Ducks do quite well in other sports. I changed the name for my fantasy team [should a league to join pops up] to the Texas Thunder Ducks because the name is so awesome. πŸ™‚ Assumedly, you are considering all the main university teams, but should you consider community colleges that have football programs, then I wish you even more luck with that. Blessings to all. πŸ™‚ Curt
  2. I agree with Bluehen, Touchdown with a 2-point after! Good to have you back. Welcome home! πŸ™‚
  3. You are welcome...The rest is understandable and also very kewl...kind of an afterthought...I wonder if Harlin was more intrigued by the players buzzing around the board than trying to understand and negotiate plays and strategies, but he certainly enjoyed the game. πŸ™‚
  4. Yes, Happy Birthday Bryan...!
  5. Apologies for taking so long to respond to this one but I really wanted to do this one the justice it deserves. For those who know me, I pre-write a lot of my posts in Notebook first, to make them flow as smoothly as possible and second, to make them as clear as possible. A lot has run through my mind about this awesome post which I see has now been close to a month since it got published. Let me begin by quoting nefgm.org - "This is why i do what I do and the very purpose for which I created the National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum. This is one of my wife's student's that she tutors. She specializes in working with kids who have dyslexia." and Coach Shawn "Awesome. It is great to see young people getting excited about Electric Football." Sir Chris, I once said and still believe today and always, if anyone could make EF famous or be famous because of their involvement with it, it would be you. A post from long ago told y'all how the 15-year-old son of a church friend and my oldest foster girl of 7 years both really enjoy the game. It is a great pleasure to now add to that, a border-line autistic 9-year-old boy, the son of one of my church choir members. Having learned he loves miniature toys, upon which I gave him the remainder of my model railroad sized cars that I found, and a wee bit reluctantly as I find I'm still protective of this one remaining and favorite hobby of mine, I told him to wait until he sees my EF collection. The rest they say is history. There have been a few kids that didn't have an interest in EF but now 3 game loving kids is a good number. πŸ™‚ I remember a post from long ago about EF being an addiction of sorts. I don't know where these kids will end up, but I know this about myself. I've been playing this game for just over 50 years now. Being semi-retired [working only part time], and just like today, thoughts about EF occupy my day while working. Perusing the Tudor EF forums until the need to stop and go play at least a set of downs if not a full quarter or more when I get home, I think qualifies me for an EF addict if not just a crazy EF fanatic. Anyway, I'll quit rambling. I hope this made sense. Blessings to all, Curt πŸ™‚
  6. Sorry that happened. Isn't it scary to know a doctor's profession is called "practice"? Will keep praying until the "all-clear" is definitively and definitely confirmed. Blessings, Curt πŸ™‚
  7. Totally Awesome. What amazing Detail. Gives new light to the term catch a buzz? Anyone up for a beer? Nothing like a good joke and that was nothing like a good joke, but I couldn't resist it, sorry. Honestly it reminds me of the intense perfection my brother strives for when restoring motorcycles like Yamaha's pin-striping. I don't know how he does it but it takes a very long time and I'm sure you follow the same painstaking processes. Again, very fine work Chris. Blessings to all Curt. πŸ™‚
  8. All our loving prayers for a speedy recovery. Blessings. Coach Curt πŸ™‚
  9. I agree with Sir Daryl. Blessings, Curt πŸ™‚
  10. I’d really like to do a super expansion one of these seasons and go from 12 to 20 teams - It all depends on how you want your league to function and what time frame you have envisioned for your league. Let me demonstrate with my 33 teams. My criteria is to have an even number of home and away games for each team and to complete a season in a calendar year. 11 divisions of 3 [first started in alphabetical order] make its regimen. at the season's end, they are ranked 1-33 for the next season's division placement. I'll use my top division as my example and let you multiply each round by 11. 2 hosts 3, 3 hosts 1, 1 hosts 2, 3 hosts 2, 1 hosts 3, 2 hosts 1. 6 games per division x 11 divisions = 66 regular season games with each team playing 2 home and 2 away games. They then are reordered for the next season according to 1st by W-T-L record, then 2nd by total points scored, then 3rd by total points allowed. Only twice in 19 seasons have 2 teams tied in all 3 criteria and the tiebreaker came from the previous season's performance stats. Does that all make sense? On to the playoff structure. The wildcard [best of the second-place teams] visits the 11th place division winner. That winner visits the 4th place division winner. 10 visits 9 to whose winner gets to visit the 3rd place division winner. 8 visits 7 to visit 2 and 5 visits 4 to visit 1. They all then whittle themselves down to the Superbowl winner which totals 11 games. Season total then is 77 games per season. Completing them in a year is easily achieved by following a schedule of playing a quarter per day. There are a total of 26 two-week periods in a calendar year. If you play 3 games in a 2-week period, you come up with 78 opportunities to complete 77 games or as I like to figure it, begin your season New Year's week and Christmas makes for a delightful Superbowl. But then again, it all depends on how you want your league to function and what time frame you have envisioned for your league. Good luck. Blessings, Curt πŸ™‚
  11. I enjoyed this thread. I have all 33 of the professional teams. Thinking the number of desired college teams I'd want is a really scary big number. Plus, I'd probably find myself overly biased toward the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mom and Dad met there. Not that it matters but my grandfather was a drum major there or as I like to call him, the Grand Pooh-bah of the marching band. 12. Welcome to the family. I can tell you how wonderful these people are, but you will soon discover that on your own. Blessings, Curt. πŸ™‚
  13. Hi Greg, Yup, that was close. I agree with how you call your games because they are exactly that, your games. πŸ™‚ I default to - if a call is too close to tell, the call goes to the benefit of the home team for a little bit of home field advantage. So that probably didn't help you much, sorry. 😞
  14. Yeah, my Ultimate field has a wide sideline with a little bit of a lip on it, so I guess it was that lip that caused the bounce back. As always, I appreciate your input, thanks and have a blessed day. Curt
  15. Necessity is the mother of invention, right? Well tonight saw me needing to add another small item to my home teams for home field advantage and as usual, I have to reason it out in Notebook 1st so it will make sense to you all. Let me begin with a couple of quotes. On 10/6/2023 at 2:03 AM, Daryl Collins said: "I’m to the point where whatever the NFL does doesn’t concern me whatsoever." and NEFGM.ORG said: "I watch very little NFL anymore." I used to watch football to influence my offense and defense formations and a few rules but not anymore. We don't get sports at home as we only stream very few channels. The only game I watch is when I go over to a friend's house to watch the Superbowl. As far as football goes, I have all the professional football teams which play each other as the previous season results determine. So why bother watching football when I can play football anytime [Amen?!!!] and usually do as a quarter per day is the usual regimen. EF Rocks! πŸ™‚ Ok, so here is the other home team advantage I now include. If a home player is behind a home ball carrier but not touching, a passed lateral may be performed to keep the ball moving. If the ball hits the available player, that player runs until tackled, out of bounds, or scores. In this case, the ball hit the side of the board and bounced back into the field of play without touching anyone. Were it the visiting team on offense, the ball would have been marked at the point it went out of bounds. However, since it rolled and stopped in the field of play [and as before I would have pivoted players to race to the ball which would have caused an additional loss of 6 yards for the home team], I have now decided that whatever point would give the home team the best advantage is where the next play will commence. Does this make sense? Blessings, Curt. πŸ™‚
