  1. This was posted on Facebook last night. Terry A. Redden 12/14/2023 I've been playing electric football for about 52 years, but I have to say the past 5 years have been my favorite. Because I now get to share it with grandchildren!
  2. Yes, you can do it. But I would think the more layers that you put on the original surface would increase the need for a stronger vibration.
  3. I am at least one moderator of the forum. Not sure if there are others or how many. So why your post would have disappeared is beyond me. I have always enjoyed your writeups and appreciate greatly the time and effort put into them. I wish more leagues would take the time to do this.
  4. OH YES!!! I have seen pictures of and read about thousands of collections of games and teams that people have in their various storage areas. Right now, there seems to be an extreme high renewal of interest in electric football. It always happens this time of year. but this year seems to be more than usual. The memberships in my FB Groups "The ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Community" and "The National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum" has more than doubled in the last month to well over 2000 members each. Every day for the last several weeks I have had to spend way more time than I have wanted in just approving post and member request. Most of the comments though are of just the casual passing "I used to have as a kid" variety. The sad thing is we will never hear from most of them again until next Christmas. There are those few who want to know where they can find the games now and want to learn more about it. Interestingly I also follow several sports board game groups and electric football shows up on them quite frequently and seem to get the most likes than any of the other post about other games. But to address the main focus of this post. Yes, Bryan needs to be more communicative on this forum and I have told him so repeatedly. The key to good customer service begins with good communication.
  5. Love high school football. Was lucky to have my youngest stepson be in the marching band for 4 years when his schools football teams went to the state championship 4 years in a row, winning it twice. As for Tudor. I don't think Bryan was really prepared for the onslaught of demand that comes from owning a toy company especially during the Christmas selling season. I worked in retail for 20 years, 3 of which were with Toys R Us. Over half of our annual sales was done in the 2 months of the Christmas selling season. Hopefully he has quickly learned some things that will carry him through to make Tudor Games sucessful for the next several years. Personally, I do not believe that the future of electric football is totally dependent on the survival of Tudor Games. There are still plenty of old electric football games and teams in peoples attics, garages and storage areas, as well as plenty of people who can build custom game boards and paint custom teams and figures for the game itself to survive for many years to come.
  6. Electric Football, Invented In 1948, Still Alive And Buzzing : NPR Thanks to Mark Cramer for posting in Everything Electric Football FB Group
  7. If all you are wanting is to tweak bases to run straight and only for your own personal solitaire league, there is no need to spend a lot of money on expensive bases and paying someone else to tweak. Tudor's Rookie bases in the different colors are really all you need. They can be tweaked just as well as any other bases. They key to getting bases to run straight is to make sure the prongs are all the same length and touching the playing surface equally and level. Also, tweak with the base attached to the figure that you are going to use it on.
  8. Haven't gotten these to the Museum website yet but thought I would download here. 2005 NHFL Rules.pdf NHFL Introduction and Nolensville Red Foxes Info.pdf

  10. I agree with you. To me as a collector, packaging is often more valuable than the actual product and definitely shows a better degree of professionalism.
  11. Just finished a podcast interview. Here's a link: https://player.captivate.fm/episode/0a38a741-1a43-4a23-ae10-93eee886bd91
  12. Here is a download for Gotham Electric Football. I think is approximately 1969. Gotham EF.pdf
  13. Very COOL!! Thanks for posting the pics.
  14. Part of the problem is getting enough people to paint teams. Also, the fact that it is now the Christmas Rush, isn't helping anything. I think after Christmas it will be much easier to get custom painted teams.
  15. An end table displaying electric football teams. Doug Pereira, 11/29/2023 The National Electric Football Game Museum | Facebook Just found this group and joined immediately. I just finished my 26th year of coaching high school football and I attribute that back to my days of playing electric football back in the late 70s and 80s. My neighborhood had a league of 34 teams!! A couple of years ago, I painted two of my teams into my own team (York Falcons in blue) against our biggest Rival (Tabb Tigers) and made an end table with a glass top for my man cave.
  16. I have known David Nickles for near 25 years. One of the first people I met and got to know through this great game and hobby. I first met him in 1999 at the Miggle Convention and Super Bowl of Electric Football Tournament in Philadelphia, PA. For several years I traveled to Alabama to play in the Bama Blast Tournament and to participate in leagues in that area. I true ambassador of the game. If you go to my YouTube Channel (The National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum - YouTube) you can find a lot of videos featuring David, the Bama Blast and much more.
  17. I have added the original 2013 Official T.O.C / MFCAL Rules to the website. For your convenience you can download from here. 2013 Official TOC MFCAL Rules.pdf
  18. As a reminder, I have many past and current rules for playing electric football on the nefgm.org website. Rules – The National Electric Football Game Museum (nefgm.org)
  19. Happy Thanksgiving!! For this Thanksgiving Day I thought I would download the very first issue of Solitaire illustrated. This was the premier edition that debuted on Thanksgiving Day 2012. Premiere Issue (1).pdf
  20. Receiving team's restraining line was 10 yards in advance of the Kicking team's receiving line. making it the 50-yard line. I don't think there were any restrictions. other than not crossing the restraining line before the ball was kicked. Most of today's rules that restrict positioning and a minimum number of players at a certain distance are for player safety to minimize the number of injuries on kickoff plays. Here is an article on kickoff rules: Chronology of kickoff rules changes – Football Zebras Here is an article on pass interference: Pass Interference (pigskindispatch.com) Apparently prior to 1974, contact between players was allowed anywhere on the field prior to the pass being thrown. Here is a statement from a 1972 Digest of NFL Rules Pass Interference 1. Restriction for the passing team starts with the snap of the ball, and the restriction for the defensive team starts when the ball leave's the passer's hand and ends when the ball is touched by anyone.
  21. it's that time of year when I start collecting Christmas Stories and Pics again; If you have anything you would like to share, please post it here. Thanks. Here is the 2021 Christmas Video created from shared pics and stories. Here also is a comment left on my YouTube channel. grumpyoldgrognard9561 11/21/2023 1970. My dad was determined to turn me into a superfan. Christmas morning, I wake up to a #12 Jets away dress up uniform complete with shoulder pads, and a Super Bowl III Electric Football set. I was 5. This is one of my first living memories. I didn't have anyone to play with, so I played solo. For years I played whole seasons pretending the colts were every other team in the league. Arms broke off. Figures snapped off at the ankles. I glued together what I could, and in the end, as long as the bases worked you still had a game. It was THAT toy, for me. It saw me through some hard times. In the end it was thrown away by an evil stepmother who didn't like the noise. My dad replaced it, of course, with a different board and I still played with it constantly, but it that board doesn't seem to share the same vivid memory space as the first one.
