  1. I have known David Nickles for near 25 years. One of the first people I met and got to know through this great game and hobby. I first met him in 1999 at the Miggle Convention and Super Bowl of Electric Football Tournament in Philadelphia, PA. For several years I traveled to Alabama to play in the Bama Blast Tournament and to participate in leagues in that area. I true ambassador of the game. If you go to my YouTube Channel (The National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum - YouTube) you can find a lot of videos featuring David, the Bama Blast and much more.
  2. I have added the original 2013 Official T.O.C / MFCAL Rules to the website. For your convenience you can download from here. 2013 Official TOC MFCAL Rules.pdf
  3. As a reminder, I have many past and current rules for playing electric football on the nefgm.org website. Rules – The National Electric Football Game Museum (nefgm.org)
  4. Happy Thanksgiving!! For this Thanksgiving Day I thought I would download the very first issue of Solitaire illustrated. This was the premier edition that debuted on Thanksgiving Day 2012. Premiere Issue (1).pdf
  5. Receiving team's restraining line was 10 yards in advance of the Kicking team's receiving line. making it the 50-yard line. I don't think there were any restrictions. other than not crossing the restraining line before the ball was kicked. Most of today's rules that restrict positioning and a minimum number of players at a certain distance are for player safety to minimize the number of injuries on kickoff plays. Here is an article on kickoff rules: Chronology of kickoff rules changes – Football Zebras Here is an article on pass interference: Pass Interference (pigskindispatch.com) Apparently prior to 1974, contact between players was allowed anywhere on the field prior to the pass being thrown. Here is a statement from a 1972 Digest of NFL Rules Pass Interference 1. Restriction for the passing team starts with the snap of the ball, and the restriction for the defensive team starts when the ball leave's the passer's hand and ends when the ball is touched by anyone.
  6. it's that time of year when I start collecting Christmas Stories and Pics again; If you have anything you would like to share, please post it here. Thanks. Here is the 2021 Christmas Video created from shared pics and stories. Here also is a comment left on my YouTube channel. grumpyoldgrognard9561 11/21/2023 1970. My dad was determined to turn me into a superfan. Christmas morning, I wake up to a #12 Jets away dress up uniform complete with shoulder pads, and a Super Bowl III Electric Football set. I was 5. This is one of my first living memories. I didn't have anyone to play with, so I played solo. For years I played whole seasons pretending the colts were every other team in the league. Arms broke off. Figures snapped off at the ankles. I glued together what I could, and in the end, as long as the bases worked you still had a game. It was THAT toy, for me. It saw me through some hard times. In the end it was thrown away by an evil stepmother who didn't like the noise. My dad replaced it, of course, with a different board and I still played with it constantly, but it that board doesn't seem to share the same vivid memory space as the first one.
  7. I did notice that they are now including the Haiti Repro figures and all at one price of $49.99. Hopefully "out of stock" is just a glitch in the system. I would say it is more of a problem getting someone to do the painting. From everything I checked all the components are available and in stock (decals and figures). So, I don't understand what's going on.
  8. I feel your pain. I have tried to find them as well. It's is virtually impossible to find a complete rule book from the sixties. Basically, goal post were on the goal line. Kickoffs were from the 40. There was a 30 second play clock. The NFL did not have a 2 point conversion. The AFL did. An incomplete pass in the end zone on fourth down resulted in a touchback and the ball came out to the 20 yard line. A missed field goal from beyond the 20 was returned to the 20 yard line. You can pick up on some of the rules by watching old games on youtube. If you have a specfic question about a certain rule, I will try to find an answer. I have several references that maybe I can find an answer for you.
  9. So apparently, this is who is going to be doing Tudor's custom painting.
  10. Offense in Dark and Defense in white is not new. it is a requirement that has been in league and tournament play, for a number of years. Not sure exactly when it started, I would have to research that. The MFBCS and TOC allow up to 60 players on a team's roster. At one time on kickoffs, the kicking team had to be in white jerseys and the receiving team had to be in dark jerseys. They now allow special teams units, to be a mix of white and dark jersey players.
  11. Not sure. The ebay listing said 1959. But could be before then.
  12. Added these original Tudor Tru-Action Electric Horse Race Model 525 playing pieces to the museum's collection. Best I can tell this would be the game that these would have come with.
  13. Yes, Coleco figures and bases from the early '70's.
  14. So, I checked several teams out. Looks to me to be an option. $51.95 is a bargain compared to others who do custom painted teams. The custom service includes painting, and decal application. Personally, I would like the option of substituting regular "Fab5" figures.
  15. From a Facebook post by John DiCarlo. If you're into the game and hobby and would like to secure its future, why not take some time to teach a kid to play. In this age of video games many kids have never seen, played or ever heard of the game...we should change that. You will be surprised how kids of all ages including teens will be fascinated by the game when you demonstrate how to play. So set aside some time to teach.......the best sports game in the world. The picture is from an exhibition game we played in the party room of a local sports pub.
  16. The earliest I can find that picture being used on Tudor Games Facebook Page is December of 2016. That same photo is also used in September 2019. This photo is from November 8, 2014, with the caption: "Sent them on their way for a catalog photo shoot... they grow up so fast!" I know a lot of you on here are not on Facebook but there are some really great photos on there from the past as early as February 5, 2012 when Doug Strohm took over Tudor Games.
  17. From what I have been able to gather , I don't think so.
  18. The larger grey case and the small green case I originally bought from Miggle when they were selling them. The large green case, I purchased through a Facebook Marketplace sale listing. It also came with these original Miggle NCAA College teams and bases. These or similar are what most people use now days for their tournament teams.
