Hey, Coach T! I wondered if you would pick up on that! Wetumpka Indians’ peewee football team. Yellow jersey, black numbers. Wetumpka is outside of Montgomery, Alabama. Spent 5 years there. Great times! One Christmas, my wife got me an electric football game. Cowboys/Steelers. I got back in heavy in the Miggle era, due to that. Journey On! D.C.

Happy Super Bowl Week everyone! It’s here, baby! The high holy week of the year! And what’s more, got the announcement for The Con out today. What a start! I’ve included some pics to prove my bonafides. One of me in 1971 with my Chiefs sweatshirt on, and one from 1968 with my model 500 game, among the other gifts from Santa. It’s the only surviving photo of my electric football games from my youth. Let’s have a great time folks! It’s a great time to be in this hobby! Journey On!! D.C.

Coach T43’s explanation is why I buy a ticket to the matinee!! He also has a system of passing with dice, that I use, that has worked out tremendously well. Just watch one of his video game posts and you’ll get it right away. The fascinating thing is how cold and hot streaks seem to appear, using his style of play, just like in real games. It is uncanny to witness! Journey On!

😃 closer to Christmas! Well, it appears the Chiefs will be in dark home jerseys, and the 49ers in white’s. I had sort of hoped for the other way around, but ok. I will be getting a custom paint order together soon. I’ll probably number the Chiefs for offense and the 49ers for defense. I really had hoped for the Lions to be there, but ‘twas not to be. Momentum does not show up in analytics, but it is real. Even in electric football playing solitaire. I’ve been witness to games where one team seems to get on a roll and just defies explanation of how this can happen on speed turf with plastic players! But it does happen! I digress. If I got that Super Bowl game for THIS year’s Christmas I would consider it one of the very best! Somewhere in America there is a dry, cool basement with one of these bad boys mint in box. This is one of my three wishes when I rub that magic lamp! Journey On!

Those bases are boss!!! I have a cadres of teams I got, over time, before the sale. I had sent a ton of them and bases to a friend who has a son that was about the age I was when I got into EF. He has a board from one of the old Denver Super Bowls. I’ll have to see about the remaining stock. Not too sure what to do with them, but it’s great having the option if inspiration strikes. Well. It’s decided. The Kansas City Chiefs are playing the San Francisco 49ers in this season’s Super Bowl. Now I have to wait to see who’s wearing what to order up a couple of custom painted teams to represent. Now, obviously, if I get to order, and there’s not an out of stock situation, I won’t get them back in time for the Super Bowl to display them. So in the meantime, I’ll have 2 Uni-form teams to represent. Chiefs Kingdom! Journey On!

Well I had thoughts about the get up and run NFL rule, but this is the first time this has happened on this board. To have two players fall down, and on the last play, was just uncanny. I was a bit in shock, so the game ended there. I’ll have to revisit the decision to pick him up, or call the play dead. Had he been able to resume, there’s a good chance the Lions wouldn’t have won the game. I’ll mull it over. In the meantime, the real life 49ers are in the Super Bowl, so you have your wish there! I’ll be pulling for the Chiefs, as they were my first love from way back in 1971. (Geez. Am I really THAT old!?!). Journey On!!

The main thing I love about solitaire play, is every coach seems to have their own individual style. Just as I respect Coach T43 and his totally immersive style, I absolutely love your decision to go with double clip bases on random draw. Excellent posts, one and all! Journey On!

How the mighty have fallen. With a clear field in front of him, #23 of the chargers trips and falls, thus giving the game to the Lions, 24-19. Lion’s running back Williams #30 rushed for 2 touchdowns and 245 yards to drain the clock and seal the deal. Now on to the Championship with, (and you can’t make this up, people) The 49ers vs The Lions! The 49ers have a strong running attack as do the Lions. Should be a great one today! At MRC Memorial Field as well as in real Santa Clara at Levi Stadium!

Not yet, but expect them any day now! The suspense is terrible! I hope it lasts! Journey On!

Those butterscotch bases are the oddest color choice for a base I’ve seen. I would like to pick the brain of the designer on that. I didn’t even know they existed until the last year or so. Structurally, what base are they comparable to? Journey On!

So in researching who was on the field during the Immaculate Reception play, I’ve resorted to stock footage of the play as I have not been able to exact a list from any source on the web. While a lot of fun doing the research, it was a bit maddening trying to discern the numbers on film. Some are very visible. Some not so much. In any event, when my custom painted teams arrive in the next two weeks, I’ll be primed and ready to get them numbered and quick based for pictures! Journey On!

If I remember right, the NFC was the home team in last year’s Super Bowl. That means the AFC should be in home dark jerseys this year. So when the two teams are announced, I’ll be watching to see what uniforms both teams will be wearing so I can make the decision, do I get Uni-forms or order a couple of pre-painted teams. Availability will be an issue. So will cost as 2 Uni-forms teams are about 1/3 as much as pre-paints. Nevertheless, I’ll get one or the other because the older I get, the more precious each year’s Super Bowl is. One of the ways I celebrate is represent the teams on the electric football stage. This is just a very satisfying time of year to be in this hobby! Journey On!

So in the latest game in the MNF tournament, the 49ers vs the Commanders. After one half it was 17-3 49ers. In the second half, the 49ers practiced ball control with a devastating running attack but allowed the Commanders to hang around. In the 4th, with the score 23-10, the Commanders hit on an 81 yard TD to #21 to pull within 6 at 23-17. The Commanders recovered the onside kick at the 49 yard line and had one play to make it happen. It didn’t. A sack by # 56 of the 49ers sealed the deal. Final score, 49ers 23- Commanders 17. Next up, the San Diego Chargers (that’s right, as God intended them!) V the Detroit Lions. The winner to meet the 49ers for the Season II MNF Tournament crown! Journey On!

College football will all shake out eventually. The pendulum has swung so drastically in the last few years, I don’t recognize the sport either. Take that child to an Auburn girls softball game! That is the sport that still feels like a collegiate sporting event. They are so much fun and still will not break the bank to go to. And lordy, are those girls competitive! Journey On!

Cultural differences aside, (Big Al rocks!), that is a great picture! What a memory. If that was my kid, that baby would be framed and on the wall! Aren’t we blessed to live in SEC country?!? Great post! Welcome back. Journey on! Daryl C.

The Ice Bowl. Packers/Cowboys. Dandy Don Meredith was 2 plays in two games vs the Packers from being in the HoF as a quarterback supreme! He’s always gong to be my favorite Cowboy quarterback. Tough as nails, that one. Journey On!
