I've thought about inserting those table/chair leg feet that screw in and out to level the field. But the legs aren't tall enough to clear the GBN motor I use on my ultimate, so I need to find some kind of extender first for the legs. Been using blocks of 2x4 for now, but that's pretty inelegant.

We don't use TOE PRO, though we have taken more than a few ideas from them. It's a buddy beer league, so while we all want to win (there's some cabbage involved), we also like to keep it relaxed and fun.

Nothing official, but we use the middle (white) passing stick. Intended pitch receiver has to be behind the LOS and within the white stick from the QB (helmet to helmet). If he is, it's automatic. If he's not, you have to pass normally.

Any before and after pics?

+1 for Testors enamels. Great coverage and flow, especially when doing stripes.

I could see a team in Canada, as in MLB and the NHL. But they have their own football league.
I agree, let's keep it in the continental 48, and those damn kids need to get off my lawn too!

Nice video.
We don't weight players/bases in our league, so I guess that's out for me.
Is there a way to make it so that the red peg part can only twist axially in the base? When I adjust them, they always seem to go crooked.

How would you figure strenght of win? Points scored vs. the average PPG of the other team?
-
How many teams and how many divisions do you have?
With 2 division games in the schedule, maybe use point differential in those divisional games (when the div record is the same) to order the teams for playoff seeding?

I have a complete team (offense and defense) of the Buzz Ball figures I bought from George back in the day, painted them to be the 1995 (I think) Packers in their throwback unis.
Only problem is, it's not a fair fight against a team of Fab 5 players, so they really don't ever get used.
I need to find a team and paint them as the throwback Bears and recreate that Halloween Monday Night Football game at Soldier field. Of course, the Packers wore their AWAY throwback jerseys, and I painted the blue ones, so that detail would be incorrect. I could paint the jack o'lantern on the back of Kenny Reuttger's helmet....

Someone must've tried this....

BuzzBall had some good products. Obviously their figures livened up the game without looking out of place (like the Mean 13 do, if only they had necks!). But I also like their Speed Diamond bases, the clear ones.

My buddy's wife has a cricut. I'm going to get some vinyl and have her run it through to make numbers. Though I do not look forward to trying to align two digits.
I am always sorely disappointed when I try to paint numbers. The regular varsity numbers from Tudor have all the drawbacks you mention. Water slide decals look great, but they don't seem to hold up well--maybe my clear coat over them wasn't thick or complete enough. It's only a couple players, but I imagine it can only get worse.

Did she say "Green Packer's??"

The repair seems good, but I’m considering adding another layer of epoxy and piece of screen to the back side, kinda like Fiberglas technique. The sticks aren’t all that strong. .

Never used it for this personally, but Mod Podge is what I’ve seen used.

A lot of good ideas in this thread.
Not sure I’d appreciate being the visiting team if ALL of them were implemented though!
Re: field speed idea—how about that reflecting “momentum” instead of home field? Like, after an interception in a one-score game, board gets turned to the better speed. Forcing a quick 3 & out. And after a long go-ahead TD drive, board gets turned down for the following return and offensive series?

Due to a shipping snafu, I now own a second blue-end zone 620. Dallas/Rams, red peg bases.
Two of the feet got damaged during shipping. One smashed totally, the other has a good piece broken off. Otherwise in really good shape.
Pics coming soon. Will include the repair.

I also like the home team getting benefit of the doubt--great idea.

What defines a tackle?
in Strategy and Gameplay
Posted
I like the idea of stopping forward progress and all, but it's not always easy to call. For a second? For a moment?
We use the old Tudor rule of any contact to a ball carrier by a defender constitues a tackle. Even that leads to a couple "discussions" per game in our league, but it works very well overall.
