Just bought a 650 field on eBay (AFC 620-sized field, jets and browns), so it’s looking like we will all have home field boards. It’s not pristine with a couple rusty-ish spots along the tops of the rails, but I love the color scheme and it looks quite different from my other boards. Most importantly the field looks completely free of dents and wrinkles.

The new rule about short over the middle passes worked as intended. It opened up some attempts (and completions) that would not have been tried if the defense could pivot.
The new rule about only pivoting one defender on the pass attempt also brought a new wrinkle. The defense really has to think about whether to go after the ball or make sure a man is in position to make the tackle if it's caught.
Last night's weekly prize went to the Broncos for most yards rushing.
Bills (yours truly) and Bronos won, Big Blue (NYG home) and Lions lost. G-Men (Giants away) and Albany Titans had byes.

Our league starts games tonight. In addition to the five founding teams, we've added a 6th--my son (28) is joining, and he painted a team to be his old Pop Warner team (Albany Titans).
Six teams allows us to have two divisions of three. Schedule format is home-and-home with the other two teams in the division, and one game with each team in the other. So seven games total over ten weeks; two teams on a bye each week (except for one where there are three games).
Bottom two teams in each division will meet in the first round of the playoffs (top teams get a bye), then division title games, then championship game.
Each team puts 50 clams in the kitty. 10 clam weekly prizes for 10 different categories (such as most rushing yards, fewest points allowed, etc.) randomly drawn at the completion of the games. 50 clams for division winners, and 100 clams for the champion.
We tweaked our rules a little. We use passing sticks, so there weren't many (if any) shorter completions over the middle. So now, if a receiver is between the numbers and any part of his base is within ten yards of the LOS, defense cannot pivot any player before the pass is caught. Additionally, on all other pass attempts, defense can only pivot one player before the pass is caught, and only that defender can be called for DPI. Previously, all unengaged defensive players could be pivoted on all pass attempts.

Nice video. Your style of play seems pretty similar to what we use in our league.
Question--on the third play it seemed the WRs were lined up offside (over the LOS). Is that something you use?

We play our leage championship game at our favorite local bar (Graney's). A couple of us from the league are regulars there. We do it early on Saturday afternoon, before the place gets too busy. But the guys who are there all remember the game and watch for a bit.

You can put a cover over the one it comes with, if that's what you mean.
If you'd like to be able to switch them around, you might be able to hold a field cover (with its backing on still) with magnets, but that might affect play.

Before the rule change in 2019 or so, the NFL average for successful onsides kicks was like 21%. Now it's not even 5% with the change.
Lining up both teams 15 yards from the ball makes it a 50/50 proposition, which is just not realistic.
I have the ball placed on the 45 yardline. Kicking team has 5 players on the 34, and receiving team has 6 on their 46 yardline. So the receiving team is two yards closer and has an extra player.
Ball is dropped by the kicking coach, and it's moved vertically from where it comes to a rest to the 45 yardline.
We haven't done enough to have an idea of the overall success rate in our league, but only one (out of 3) attempts was successful, so it's in the ballpark.

Yes, convoluted.
If it's a deep pass, there's more time for a defender to make a break for the ball, so that would need to be considered.
One could use measuring sticks (short, medium, and long) to figure it out, but at that point just use passing sticks as intended.
The one bonus to a dice method over passing sticks is when you want to throw a slant over the middle. Very hard to replicate with passing sticks, as there usually are just too many guys in the area for ball placement.

Also, buy a bottle of Solv-a-set. It will help the decal to conform to the curves.

So, for a completion the offensive roll has to be higher than the defensive roll? What makes an interception--same number on both dice?

I do something similar:
Kicking team lines up at the 50 (or anywhere behind it if the coach wishes)
Receiving team has 5 at the 40, 4 at the 20, and two returners at the goal line
Kicking coach drops a ball between the return men to see who gets the ball
Return team gets to pivot
Kicking team pivots
Run the board
We get good, realistic results with this system. We do not allow touchbacks on free kicks.

Interesting. In my league, that would be a completion. No DPI because the contact happened within a base-length of the ball.

I too am thinking of altering the "any touch=a tackle" rule. Thinking it needs to be with the front part of the defender's base. Stopping forward motion seems like it will just cause differing interpretations with the coaches in the league during a game.

Either they are phasing out the prepainted NFL teams, to be supplanted by the UniForms, or there's supply issues with the Packers (and others) currently out of stock.
I hope it's the former.
