Pics of the build would be great.

Those look good. Just something about all painted teams. Nostalgia? Maybe.
People have made fantastic, realistic, and detailed teams, but I find each layer of detail added can make one think of the inevitable details that are not there. Kinda like diminishing returns.
And when I'm playing a game, I'm not thinking about TV numbers or names on jerseys.

What I'd like to see offered is the old 620-style field. Sold as board only and as a complete game set. Use the new motors and sell field covers. Even a Super Bowl edition would be sweet.
TTC dials that don't have a notch in the rear of the disc, so opponents can't see if your QB is set to spin in place.
Mean 13 with necks.

To keep it simple, you could use a 620-sized field cover.

Looking great.

Looks like a sure INT if offense 81 doesn't block 23. Did that figure into your pass placement?

What's with the green "caps" on the bases? Gotham-esque metal for a magnetic ball?

We have 8-play quarters in our games.
If we go to OT, there's a 12-play quarter added. We use the "normal" NFL rules; in order for a FG to win, both teams have to possessed the ball. TD does not require that.
I never understood the "both teams MUST possess the ball in all cases" update to the rule. Though I didn't like it when Cincy knocked the Bills out with that TD drive, I don't see it as "more fair" if the Bills had a possession.
To illustrate, let's say the Bills did get the ball and answer with a TD, tying the OT period (just like they were tied at the end of regulation). Guess what--Cincy gets the ball, scores a TD, and now game is over. Same situation, really.

Any more pics of the figures on the carpet?

The motor really is great. The board worked fine with the stock motor, better with two, but....
GBN motor is what should come with it. Or at least be an option.

Nope. It's right by the side rail at the 50 for game play. Put it next to leg for pic.

In the one real life pic with players on it, it seems to be the 620 size.
But the sales brochure states it is 18x32?
Looks great either way

Another good thing about the GBN motor is that it sticks to the underside with magnets, so it's super easy to experiment with placement.
I did make leg extensions though, because the stock legs aren't tall enough to clear the motor underneath.
I used some square steel tubing that fits snugly over the stock legs. Painted it to kinda match. Stuck a wooden dowel in the bottom end and inserted those screw-in feet. Now it can be leveled easily as well.

No issues with vibes being too strong over the motor. I guess it's powerful so it just moves the whole field?

When I had Tudor motors on my ultimate field, I put them in opposite end zone corners.
Now I have the GBN motor, and it's at the 50 on one side. Big improvement.

I'd also want two Rough Rider teams as well.

I'd buy the Eskimos before they get woke'd out of their name.

I'd buy a few CFL teams.

Interesting.
Seems like it might be a little cumbersome to record and add up all the seconds, but if there's an official scoring the game (instead of the coaches) it could work.

Ha, I went to UMaine Orono in 1986.
Now I know what team I'll paint next.
Only tricky part will be the helmet logo, unless I learn how to print white on a decal sheet....

pix or it didn't happen

For an automatic pitch, my league uses the white (middle) passing stick to see if the QB and intended receiver are close enough. After the pitch is made, defense can pivot any unengaged players.
I could see applying the same method for laterals.
For a Music City Miracle-type lateral, one could just use the passing sticks as usual, with the caveat that the ball must be placed somewhere behind the man tossing the ball, as in real football.
Thinking I'd want to restrict these shenanigans to last play of the half or similar.

No problem!
It is wise to make rules as cut and dried as possible. Limiting judgement calls helps play move along.
As for measuring, I'll have to set up players 2 3/4" apart, helmet to helmet, and see how it looks. It is easier to measure at the top. And there's something for consistency as well.

I've found transparancy film (like for use with the old overhead projectors) works nicely to replace the "cleats" on these figures. Needs to be cut perfectly square.
It's a little hard to snap off the bottom off to replace the cleats, so I'd do that before painting. Otherwise you run the risk of chipping the paint.
