  1. Very Cool!! I used to work for the museum exhibit company that produced the graphics for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was my job to crate and ship the graphics that they have in their entrance area of that year's Hall of fame Inductees. It was always a rush to get them to the Hall the week prior to the Super Bowl. I worked on a lot of their exhibit displays there. I've got pics somewhere. I will have to see if I can find them. That company was also the one that did the complete remodel of the Hall of Fame exhibits I think in 2011 or 2012, the exhibits in the Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery and several more exhibits. My biggest thrill was putting the cleats that Gale Sayer wore when he scored the 6 touchdowns in one game in an exhibit case.
  2. Nice!! Well glad to see you found the game and hobby again!! Enjoy!!
  3. I understand all the reasons for not being on Facebook or even wanting to be on Facebook. But that is just the times we live in. It is very expensive and takes very expensive video equipment to video or even live stream events on platforms other than Facebook. To live stream an event on Facebook Live is very easy. Basically, all you need is a cell phone with a long battery life or a supplemental power supply. Anybody can do it and there will be plenty of people there doing it. I will probably do it. But honestly these live events are extremely boring unless you are actually there and actively taking part in the tournament or other events outside of the tournament. If someone does actually take the time and make the effort to record a video production of it, it takes many more hours to edit and produce a quality video production that is even a good short 15-to-20-minute highlights production of it. I have asked my stepson if he could do it, since he works for a sporting event production company in Nashville that does the AEW (All Elite Wrestling) recorded TV shoes, Live TV shows, and pay-per-view events. He is actually the head videographer and production team leader that produces these shows. BUT he is extremely busy with that and more than likely won't be able to. So more than likely if you are not on Facebook you are not going to see anything live and it more be several more days or week before you see anything on it.
  4. Obviously not taking place the same time, it did last year, because that should have been last weekend. I really do not know. but the contract with them was between them and Doug / Tudor Games. Don't think that transferred to Bryan /Tudor games. Bryan has alluded to there being more tournaments in the near future. but no other plans beyond Tudor-Con 2024 that I know of yet.
  5. No. I don't know the weight. 1984 I don't think the idea of restricting weight was even thought of. Might have been, but I don't know.
  6. Yes. Same thing with most FB Buy& Sell Groups. This is the link to Miniature Football Buyers & Sellers Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1593901380873991/
  7. Well, all mine are!!! And yes, they still run in the opposite direction or straight for the sideline when they smell the goal line with absolutely no one around them.
  8. Hey, if that if that is what it would take, would love to get you there. Those pics are from over several years, not exactly sure when, but definitely some from 1999 Bama Blast and 2005 Miggle Convention in Pittsburgh. Pics are from a pack of photos donated to the museum by David Nickles and the Deep South MFL. Man!!! That was 25 years ago!! LOL. With Jerry McGhee on his ECU Pirates Big Board.
  9. Posted on Facebook 2/3/2024 Deep South Miniature Football League (DSMFL) Scrap Jones Hey Coaches, I’ve been looking for a way to finally gain the edge on yaw for the playoffs…………… That’s right i went back and found my 1984 running back base off of my Steelers. Yep, yaw in trouble now!! And it still runs. Anthony D Burgess Awesome!!! It’s way past time that weighted play get the respect it deserves. Just as base tweakers are respected so also should weighted base makers be as well . It is a skill and it’s more to it then guys think and there is a rule for weighted bases/players and it’s this……. Weight MUST BE UNDER THE BASE ONLY! Magnets CSN NOT BE USED AS WEIGHT! One player on ONE WEIGHTED BASE! NO HOUSE PANTED MEN!! There is no 3.0, 4.0,etc limit on your players weight, only that that player can run/ function in a football manner and not be a slow/sluggish moving type base. 3.0, 4,0 IS NOT CONSIDERED WEIGHTED. Visually you shouldn’t be able to tell a weighted player from a none weighted player. You can’t have and shouldn’t have guys who do not play weighted speak on or give any instructions or advice on this subject as they simply don’t qualify and lack the experience. Weighted coaches take as much pride in their weighted team as TTQB passers do in their skill. A weighted coaches training camp is a closely guarded secret, think of it like a top secret recipe. Now weighted bases are fast, strong and extremely consistent, they don’t fall over yet to find that balance of speed and strength is ant art within itself. Scrap Jones Anthony D Burgess, I hadn’t thought to look at it that way until reading your comment. I think theirs something to that. They say that David Nickles used to run a tournament just like what you’re talking about and people came from all over the country. Maybe it’s time to bring it back. Anthony D Burgess Scrap Jones Yes David Nickles did have something it was called the Bamma Blast and it was awesome…… What destroyed it was people pleasing and lack of morals and character. The Bamma Blast is the reason why I no longer compete in tournaments, when pleasing others and cliques are more important than integrity, more important than fairness and right I can not be a part of such a thing. I was told that I was so far ahead of everyone as an excuse for not doing the right thing SMH IF THE BAMMA BLAST was to return I’m not sure if I would participate in it. James L Shealey We played at 6grams in the old Ga EFL high speed hard hits our most feared player was a woman Ms Andrea Hubbard a very beautiful lady who looked like a model Jeff Priest Seen razor blades under platform before lol. Every once in a while, you get an interesting discussion on Facebook
  10. Me too!!! Christmas 1997. 1996 SB XXXI Patriots and Packers, Wife no more (I kind of think electric football had something to do with that. LOL). Game board turned into a combo Tennessee Oilers / Tennessee Titans field. Teams repainted to something else, I think WFL Birmingham Americans and Memphis Southmen. My wife now (married in 2000) is much more accepting of my EF addiction. I certainly couldn't be trying to build an ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum. If she wasn't. Check out the article in the Spring 2001 Plugged In! 2001-spring-1.pdf (wordpress.com)
  11. Thanks for the pics, Guys!!! Yes, turning out to be a very good Monday. Love it!!! Here is something else for you. This is in response to someone else's question that was asking me about the Convention and Tournament. This was from Bart Moore, that lives in the Tallahassee, FL area. He and his wife Jennifer came up to see the "Art of the Buzz" exhibit that I had last year. Awesome people!! They are palnning on coming up for Tudor-Con. I am working on a Convention schedule and other activities. I will definitely have a traveling museum exhibit with vintage gameboards, teams and EF Art. Similar to what you saw in the "Art of the Buzz" exhibit, but on a much smaller scale. Also trying to get Ron Mango to set up a painting demo and workshop. I am also considering a Throwback Tournament modeled on what you have done. If you have any interest in helping with that, it would be much appreciated. Also working on information on some of the other things that can be done and places to visit around the area.
  12. Thanks for posting the link. I didn't have that updated version.
  13. Similar to the Facebook "Miniature Football Buyers and Sellers" Group but not Ebay or online bidding. I think I would allow links to Ebay Auctions and "Buy it Now" listings but also would want to limit negotiations for anything to private communications. And of course, the Disclaimer that "Tudor Games or anyone affiliated with Tudor Games" will not and cannot be held responsible for transactions gone wrong." Something like that. Most other forums have these sections and think it would get more activity here on this forum. The bad thing about allowing this is that it will have to be closely monitored and will ultimately lead to a lot of people getting banned from this forum. But that is just something that goes with it. Yes, absolutely agreed.
  14. Yes!! That is the way to do it. Or just tilt the ball forward on the tee so that it is a squib kick more or less. It does take going through a bunch of kicker and experimenting with several to find a good kicker. I have three, that I use. One for kickoffs, one for punts and one for field goals.
  15. Terry, I do this mostly on my 30"x 60" game board. On smaller boards I use my kicking cards in place of the TTQB Kicker.
  16. I have talked to Bryan @ Tudor about starting a Buying and Selling secton. I think he is more open to it then the previous owners. I want to set up a History section also. More of my stuff belongs in a History Section.
  17. Guys, Please see the rules. Take this conversation privately, please.
  18. I am only going to say this about the person who is Electric Football Hero. Yes, he does present some very good ideas on playing the game. And yes he does ramble on and on about things which make it very hard to watch his videos or listen to him. But his comments about Tudor and how nobody was playing electric football because of Tudor got him banned from every FB group he belonged to and also this forum. Despite the differences that I personally had with him, I still felt like His rules and some of the other systems of play he created were worthy enough to be saved and included in my history of Electric Football. You can find them on the nefgm.org website. EHFL 3RD EDITION Rule Book Volume One. https://nefgm.org/the-nefgm-library/rules/solitaire-league-rules/
  19. This is why i do what I do and the very purpose for which I created the National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum. This is one of my wife's student's that she tutors. She specializes in working with kids who have dyslexia. Afterwards after my wife sent these videos and pics to the kid's mother, this was her response!! How cute! He talked about that the entire way home. THANK YOU!! 20240203_164239.mp4 20240203_164421.mp4
  20. Awesome!! Yes, exacly the way I play mine!!
  21. Greg, from what I understand, it is in an effort to increase kick returns. By having the other 10 players of each team line up 5 yards apart and not being able to move until the ball is fielded it cuts down on the players being able to run down field at full speed and blast into a blocker or Kick returner. That's whern most of the injuries and concussions are occurring.
  22. Good option. Thanks for your response.
  23. So, I read this morning that the NFL is once again considering adopting the XFL kickoff rule in an effort to reduce concussions on kickoff returns, Here is the Article: NFL is again considering XFL kickoff rule change (msn.com) Here is the XFL Kickoff Rule: In the XFL, the kickoff rule consists of 10 players on the kicking team and 10 players on the receiving team (everyone except the kicker and returner) lining up across from each other, five yards apart. The kicker kicks from the 30-yard line and must kick the ball in the air and in play between the opponent's 20-yard line and the end zone. Only the kicker and one returner can move until the ball is fielded and touchbacks are spotted at the 35-yard line. Since concussions aren't really a matter of concern in electric football, is this something you would consider adding to your rules of electric football kickoffs and kickoff returns? Generally, most electric football rules tend to use NFL rules as their guide for playing electric football. One of my pet peeves about a lot of the rules used for league and tournament play is that kickoffs and kickoff returns have been eliminated altogether (or giving the coaches the option of performing a kickoff return or just going ahead and taking the ball at the 25-yard line) in an effort to conserve time and speed along the games. I would just like to hear your thoughts on it.
  24. Obviously not for everyone and very hard to make a ruleset that everyone will be happy with. But please don't let that stop you from coming. This is a tournament and CONVENTION. Planning many more activities that should interest people from all facets of the game and hobby, including collecting and solitaire play. For me this is an opportunity to "show case" the museum as well. Thanks Terry, loving the conversation and discussion.
