  1. Tudor Games

    April 23, 2024

I just want to say that this weekend was a dream come true! Thank you to everyone who supported this event. It went better than I ever dreamed.

I want to thank the people who volunteered their time and energy to make this a huge success.

Thank you Joel Pritchard (my close friend). Thank you for building all the boards and transporting most of the warehouse to Murfreesboro!

Thank you David Haydel! Like I told you, I’m not having an event unless you are there!  You worked all weekend with really no break at all.

Thank you Chris Lemay! You did all of the leg work to find the hotel and it was amazing.

Thank you Ron Mango. You came through on the Trophies when I forgot to order them.

Thank you David Nickles! Thank you for always supporting these events and bringing the equipment and helping us in so many ways.

Thank you RK! Thank you for giving up your time and energy to keep everyone in the know about the event. We are praying for you!!!

Thank you Major for helping us load up everything to take back!

Most of all, thanks to my amazing wife Anne. She sacrifices a lot and puts up with this craziness.  She’s the best!

Congrats on all who participated. We had a lot of first time coaches and I hope you had a good time and will play again. Congrats to the final four coaches- Raiderman, Adrian, Hulk and Frank Jacobs. You guys played great.

Raiderman and Adrian battled to the very end and I want to congratulate both of you for the way you played and the sportsmanship you both showed. True champions!

Raiderman - you did it!  Congratulations on being the Tudor national champion.  You had an amazing run. That secondary was amazing.

It was great meeting new people and seeing people I haven’t seen in so long.

  2. It was a great weekend. Thanks for the pics Terry 43. I have several and there are hundreds more that can be found on Facebook. There is video of the Championship game on Facebook. and hopefully I will be able to download it for my files. The tournament was won by Paul "Raiderman" Bartels over Adrian Baxter in one of the more exciting Championship Games I have seen in a while. Fanks Jacobs and Jim "Hulk" Davis were the other conference Championship participants. Overall, there were 40 coaches participating in the tournament. A good mix of Veteran Coaches and first-time tournament coaches. The rules were very easy to play. and everyone seemed to enjoy playing by these rules.

Myself and several others meet with Bryan Nutt and his wife Anne last night to discuss the successes of this tournament and ways we can improve for next year. YES!! we plan to make this an annual event.

It was great seeing and reconnecting with people that I had not seen in a while and also meeting and talking with a lot of the new people that have come into the game and hobby.

The round robin games were played on the new mini ultimate size game boards. I would highly recommend that if you are looking for a new game board to get one of these.

It will take me a while to get rested from and caught up with everything.  but I will post more as I have time. All I can really say for now is start planning to attend next year. It promises to be bigger and even better than this year's event.

  3. Field covers have already been msde with a lot of the old designs. Many of the mini ultimate boards being used today in the Tudor Con Tournament have these vintage field cover designs on them.

Tthere are plenty of the old 620 game boards in circulation that can be restored with new vinyl adhesive graphics. I have done several already.

Miggle Toys did replicate the old 620's with their new 620's in 2004. I currently have 3 of those.

I do have the opportunity to buy a vintage College Edition this weekend to add to the Museum's collection.

To completely manufacture new 620's would be very expensive and the market demand for them just isn't there to justify the cost.

Todays market is more for custom built 2' x 4'  game boards with multiple magnetic field covers and Tudor has that covered with the ultimate game boards and the ability to produce any field cover any body could want.

I bet you some people have $20,000 worth of collections

I don't know what the true total value of my collection is, I know that if I were asked to put a value on it, it would probably be much more than $20,000. However, I have seen pics of other people's collections that have way more stuff than I do. The greatest value of anybody's collection is in the teams and figures. I have often bought game sets for nothing more than the teams and bases. I personally have always been more interested in the game boards, so my collection of original factory teams is very limited.

Today's market though is much larger than it was when I started collecting over 25 years ago. The market demand for original vintage electric football games is getting much smaller. Today the market demand is more for custom painted teams, custom built game boards and field covers.

  5. Patriots did play the 49ers in week 7 of the 1971 season, in San Francisco. It may also simply be that Tudor had an inventory overstock of those teams.

I’m out of pocket but have a question nagging me. The 70s Tudor set with the Patriots and 49ers was always such a unique pairing of teams and, even though I was not a fan of either team, I really wanted that set! I need the info on that set please.
    Thank you!

    Journey On!

1971 and 1972 Model 635. Patriots and 49ers was the default team pairings. Specific team pairings or regional team parings could be requested by retailers. Check out the 1972 Toy Fair Catalog in the NEFGM Library. https://nefgm.org/tudor-games-toy-fair-products-catalogs/

speaking of this can you point me to places to find electric basketball games and players

eBay is the best place to find all the other electric sports games and other games made by Tudor.

Check it out! Used to produce a popular Long Island and National High School wrestling show which ended. We switched the page to LIEFL with just some picture posts. But I am the one who has the BeFunky program and took the liberty of making this for the museum for Billy O'C. We would never compete with the page and Billy O'C wanted me to just add some great stuff about this incredible museum collection! I also wrote a few comments on your fantastic FB page for the museum! Levi-

an article I wrote recently, for the Coffin Corner publication of the Professional Football Researchers Association (PFRA) of which I am a member. Not sure when it will be published, but my understanding is that copies of this publication go to every NFL team and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

An update!! Just received an email from the editor that this article will appear in the next issue.

  9. I'd buy it, if nothing else for the Teams and Bases. The problem with a lot of these boards were the motors not being mounted properly (loosely riveted to the board) or the speed adjusting screw not the right size (coarse thread instead of fine thread) It is the generic model. One of the few I don't have in my collection.

  10. I would apply the cover first then cut out the hole. Be sure to download the vinyl field cover install instructions and watch the install video on Tudor's website. This will work with any vinyl field cover whether you get from Tudor or not. If it is a magnetic cover, same thing, lay down the field cover first then find the hole and cut it out.

Basically, field covers are designed to use on custom game boards and newer model Tudor Games produced after 2012.
