  1. I've got both Bergey and Bednarik on my Eagles team. Bergey starts at middle linebacker. Bednarik actually played outside linebacker on defense for the real Eagles, including multiple all-pro years. Bednarik starts at center and outside linebacker for my Eagles - the only 2-way player in my league! Love the old guys!
  2. I liked Bergey better when he joined the Eagles! 😊
  3. Wow, you're right. Looks much better. Will give that a shot with my boards. Thanks.
  4. My brother got the Super Bowl IV with the Vikings and Chiefs the year after I got Super Bowl III. I think that was when he became a Vikings fan sadly. 😊 We used the boards playing head to head and had many exciting games until I went off to college. He lost interest while I was gone and later gave the game to me. I still have it and It also still works!
  5. It depends. The smaller boards are easier to maneuver around and passing is easier using the smaller boards. However, the 4x2 board is closer to scale and allows more room for running sweeps and pass patterns such as outs, outs and ups, flags, as well as spreading the defense to allow more room for curls, drags, slants, posts, etc. It is more difficult to pass on the bigger board (if you use the TTQLs) and, ,obviously, it is a longer distance to make the 10 yards for a first down than on the smaller boards. I just got a 4x2 this year and I really like it, although I do have to get up off my butt to pass and move some guys around. 😊
  6. I have the same problem with a couple of my boards with fine scratches and one or two deeper scratches. Hope someone comes up with a fix....
  7. I agree 100 percent. I still have a lot of loyalty to the old guys from the 60s and 70s, but as years went by I started adding newer players, until a lot of the old guys weren't playing on my teams anymore. I missed them, so that's when I decided to make my new season with all stars on each team from 1960 through 1999. I have 53 man rosters, so there is plenty of room for the old guys and some of the newer players too. I went back and researched pro-bowl teams, all-pro lists, various statistics that applied to specific positions, number of years in the league, etc. Then I ranked them based on those criteria and built my rosters for each team. I ended up with a mix of players from all four decades. So I end up with Bart Starr throwing to James Lofton, but Jim Taylor and Paul Horning are still the fullback and halfback. At the same time, Bradshaw is still throwing to Swann and Stallworth, with Harris in the backfield, but with Jerome Bettis playing halfback. My Rams are Qb'd by Gabriel and the Fearsome Foursome are there, except with Fred Dryer starting in front of Lamar Lundy. Tarkenton is throwing to Chris Carter and Ahmad Rashad and the Purple People Eaters are pretty much intact. All of my teams have similar mixes of old and new players starting and backing up. It really is a great game and hobby and it's really fun to see where everyone has taken it and what they have done with it.
  8. Yup, I remember watching those all those guys play. Most of them are currently active in my solitaire league.
  9. I experimented with two motors as well, and ended up placing them in the same positions as Joe G - diagonal in opposite corners of the opposing end zones and facing each other. Works great!
  10. Wow. Really excellent! To actually take it down to the actual facemasks, gloves, etc. is truly amazing!
  11. Very nice. Boy, that's a lot of purple! 😊
  12. Nice. Wish I had collected them all when I was starting out. I only bought the teams I liked back then, so am missing some. 😒
  13. Very nice. I have my Super Bowl III board as well, but for a long time it was my only board, so it has seen some wear and tear. However, it has also seen many years of great electric football, and provided me with many years of enjoyment!
  14. I agree. I try to have some kind of logic for determining which figures i adjust and how they are adjusted, but ultimately it's my system. It works for me, but might not work for others. Since it's just me playing I just have to make sure I use the same system for all my teams.
  15. I still have the Super Bowl III board and the Colts and Jets figures. Amazingly, the board still works!
  16. I got started in electric football with a 500 game that had the old yellow and red teams in two poses back in the early 60s. Next I got a game with the big yellow and white players and that was when I started to develop my solitaire league. It really hit me though when I received a Super Bowl III game with the Jets and Colts. After that, I began to expand my league by by buying more teams (beginning with my favorite teams the Eagles and Packers) whenever I had extra money. The dark jersey Colts and white jersey Jets were the real beginning though.
  17. Really nice job, - I remember Oscar Reed - although as a Packer fan, I'm not too happy with him kicking the Packer's helmet! 😊
  18. I agree with all those suggestions, although I liked the Eagles uniforms of the 60s with the shoulder stripes, arm stripes and the player's number in between on the arm.
  19. Great to see someone else is using the players of old! My current league has "all stars" who played from 1960 through 1999 on each of my 16 teams.
  20. I agree. The classic uniforms from the 60s and 70s were the best in my opinion.
  21. Really nice. I'm a Packers fan, but the Bears look really good!
  22. Roller, that's why I don't let my wife know about this stuff! 😊
