  1. Oy, steel… I knew that! That’s what I get for posing a question late at night, short of sleep!
  2. Thank you, Coach. If you don’t mind my asking, about how much does an appropriately sized sheet cost?
  3. Coaches, I was wondering what the thickness of the aluminum sheet of Ultimate boards typically is. I was contemplating building a custom board and that seemed like an important 1st question to answer. Thank you.
  4. Yes! My favorite team of all time! I wish you nothing but the best with this project and would love to see them once you’re done! As a boy I bought the pre-painted white jersey team back in the late 70’s. They ran roughshod thru the neighborhood! Recently I started getting back into the game. That original team’s paint was slightly touched up, details like wristbands and tape were added to customize individual players, and I made decals to finish them off They look great! I then bought another 11 to make the defense. Currently I’m making the red jersey versions. They’re all painted. Now I need to make the decals and finish them off.
  5. I use these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Beadery-Clear-Plastic-18-Compartment-Storage-Box/911497026?fulfillmentIntent=In-store You can easily fit a 22 man team, but a couple guys have to be roommates. 😉
  6. Be patient and take your time. Take breaks when you need to. I know you’re excited to use your teams, but trust me — nothing makes a quality paint job quite like working carefully and not rushing things. Get quality brushes of different sizes, don’t be afraid to experiment with different paints, thinning them, etc., and anything else you can think of. Maybe experiment on plastic utensils or other disposable plastic objects to hone your technique. You’re well on your way to being a football team painting stud!
  7. Good job, man! Welcome to the Dark Side! I hope you enjoyed yourself!
  8. I can’t help you with the Bengals, but I’m finishing out my ‘75 Cardinals, and they look awesome! Mine aren’t Uni-Forms, so I can’t comment on that. I think of you made decals for the ‘73 Bengals’ uniforms they’d end up looking great.
  9. What are these bubble cases of which you speak?
  10. Also, if this hasn’t happened already, it always took me a couple days to get used to wearing the helmet again, so maybe be prepared for that possibility. The weight of it threw me the first few practices, but after a bit it was like second nature. I too was a lineman when I played, and it was great fun! Enjoy yourself!
  11. Awesome! Thank you! I don’t want to build things other people earn money from, just maybe things that in their minds are shareable.
  12. I just gained access to a 3D printer and was curious if there were any interesting and useful electric football-related files out there? I’ve googled it and have as yet come up blank, but I figured this community would know better than anyone. Thank you.
  13. Great idea! Some possibilities: Red Helmets & Jerseys, White Pants: Wisconsin, Alabama, Indiana, Louisville (can go with white jerseys as well) Gold Helmets, Black/White Jerseys, gold pants: New Orleans Saints, Purdue Boilermakers (my alma mater!) I’m not sure, but Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt may work as well As you noted, Pittsburgh Steelers = Iowa Hawkeyes (white and black jerseys) Purple helmets & Jerseys — Minnesota Vikings & Northwestern Wildcats I know there are more but they’re not jumping out at me at the moment. If I think of more I’ll post them.
  14. That shade might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but man, that figure sure is beautiful!
  15. Those are spectacular! If you don’t mind me asking, from where did you get the figures, or did you scratch build them?
  16. Congrats on such a great collection! That’s righteous!
  17. I have that first Super Bowl board with the red, white, and blue diamond end zone. It was Raiders vs Vikings Super Bowl. What model number is it? Thank you.
  18. I’ve been working on an offense, defense, formation, spreadsheet play generator I can use when playing solitaire and I’ve included unbalanced lines as a possible option. I also coached youth football for a long time and used them on O and prepared my teams for them on D. I typically only shifted my OTs and referred to them as the “Super Tackle”.
  19. There is a company called Evergrern Scale Models that produces and sells styrene plastic rods, tubes, I-beams, strips, sheets, etc. Many well stocked hobby shops carry their products. You could always buy tubes with an inner diameter compatible with the outer diameter of the uprights, cut them to the desired length, paint them yellow, and put them in place (gluing if desired). I’ve used their stuff a lot and really like it. https://evergreenscalemodels.com/
  20. Beautiful teams! Outstanding work!
  21. And while we’re at it, what paint do you use? Is it Tudor’s stuff or something else? They look great.
  22. I tell you what, Bro, if I’m ever fortunate to find myself in Long Island, I swear I’m gonna bring a team or two and and let you guys put me thru a clinic so I can learn the game from some of the best dudes in the sport!
