Yeah I agree with you on that 100%. I really believe they should have started the season sooner when it's in people's minds after the NFL season. I like the teams they should have added the alliance teams as well if they could have.

Yes!!  I also thought they missed out by not starting soon after the SB.

and yes the AAF was awesome!  Great uniforms and The football play was exciting.

Gotcha.  I’m going to incorporate different methods next year.  I believe I play unbiased, but it’d be good to add another level to it.  I’ll be asking you lots of questions.

To determine the primary receiver I roll a six sided dice.

    Determine primary receiver

    1d6 roll:

    1. QB
    2. FB
    3. HB
    4. X receiver
    5. Y receiver
    6. Z receiver

If QB is rolled then anyone can be targeted normally as the QB is assumed to make a great read.

I may have to incorporate more dice into my play.  How does the primary receiver work?

After the defense is set you simply determine which player is your Primary receiver.  In solitaire I will randomly determine this, but in head to head the offensive coach will simply declare his choice.

Now once the play is started the offensive coach decides which receiver he will actually target.

    • If the primary receiver is indeed the primary receiver then use normal rules for stick passing.
    • If any other receiver is targeted then you must go up to the next longest stick from the one you measure out.  EXample: a white stick pass to a secondary receiver becomes a white stick with pressure.  Another example:  A red stick pass to a secondary receiver becomes a white Stick.

  4. Continuing game today.

Oh man check this run out.  I tried to see if the guy behind him got him, but i could always see the curl of the invisibase and so I don’t believe they touched.   That Dolphin guy hit the blocker to Partlow’s right and that causes his base to flinch with contact but it was not Partlow’s contact.  So I had to rule TD.

Lou Partlow now has 154 yds rushing and two Rushing TDs.

  5. In my solitaire games all plays are rolled randomly.

I use 12 sided dice.  The specific die I use is based on the Down and yards to go for the first down.

in the play above I rolled a pass with receiver  X as the primary receiver.  If marino had been forced to pass to any other receiver then I would have added a pressure stick to the appropriate ball placement stick.

  6. Dolphins win toss and choose to kickoff.

Triangles  take it to their own 21 yard line.  After two runs behind guard the triangles are at 3rd down and 4 yards to go.   I set up Dolphins to defend pass.  The dice rolled a sweep to the right.   And then Lou Partlow shoots through the gap in Coverage and takes it all the way!

One thing about the players of the 20's and 30's. They were a lot smaller than today's players and wore less padding.

Hall of Famer Wilbur “Pete” Henry, aka “Fats,” was one of the NFL’s largest and most dominant linemen in the 1920s at 5 feet 11 inches and 245 pounds, but would be dwarfed by present-day players such as 6 foot 6 inch, 313-pound New Orleans offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk. So, being new to this hobby, I haven't learned how to tweak the bases. Some videos I've seen show dudes using lighters to eliminate "flash" (i.e. extra plastic on the bottom of the prongs). Does anyone else do this, and what are the best pliers to use?

    Thanks,

    Brian

Here is the pliers I use.

they are available at Joann Fabrics shops.
