what teams do you want to have in your college league? Are the players for each team from a specific class, or is each team a dream team from different eras?

    My College Teams:

1985 Iowa Hawkeyes (One of the years I attended Iowa and a great year for Iowa football. They went 10-2 in season but, lost in Rose Bowl to UCLA)

2006 Boise State (the team that upset Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl)

2021 Army Black Knights ( I am a veteran of the US Army, 1983-1991, so I a feel connected to Army football.)

2021 Navy Midshipmen (you can’t really have Army and not have Navy as well)

1984 Boston college (Doug Flutie, my favorite QB)

    Harvard Crimson (1930’s)

    Yale Bulldogs (1930’s)

    Princeton Tigers (1930’s)

    Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1930’s)

So mostly try to pick teams and years with special meaning to me.

  2. I keep getting or making new teams.  But I keep my solitaire league at 10 teams to keep it manageable.

I also run our competition league.

I keep planning on doing a College solitaire league as well as I now have 8 completed teams, with several others are various levels of completion.  So I guess most of my current expansion has been to add college level teams.

The last Pro team I bought off the NEFLG website.  It was the AFL NY Titans.   I finished them off with facemasks, numbers, and names. I plan to use them for another competition team.

Al participated in the SCPC (Solitaire Coaches Points Challenge) which was a national competition for solitaire coaches

    He has some wild teams.

Also, I loved the SCPC .   Itwas fun to participate.  I believe my entry was my own fantasy NFL team, the Idaho Talons.

Yep, that play is officially in my playbook now. I call it T5A. T-formation, pulling guard, and A-Gap.

I am adding it to mine as well.

It is a common practice for me to use the defense to redirect my receivers pass routes but I don’t know if I have ever set up my own players to redirect a runner.  It is a clever idea, especially when set up in such a concealed manner as your “Trap” play.

'm not sure if this is Greg Davis, because I don't have a Facebook account, but the person who has the E8FL Facebook page is featuring an Army vs Cornell game right now. Very good videos. 😃

It has been a while since I read thru the book.
At the very end Greg does identify himself as the creator of the E8FL. (Bottom of Last page)

  6. I found this wonderful little PDF booklet a while ago but have no idea where I came across it.

“Classic T Formation with a Man in Motion for Electric Football” by Greg Davis

New searches have failed to locate it again.  I also checked the NEFGM site and did not see it.

I do not want it to disappear so I am putting it up here.

Hope you all find it as interesting as I did.

Since I only participate in playing solitaire, I have no problem with freeze frames. Magnets are what I use, but if ever prompted to get a freeze frame or two, I would experiment with different uses and probably enjoy doing so. Still, it is very interesting, the debate on the uses of freeze frames.

I have never used freeze frames and have no bias one way or the other.
One thought I have had is to wonder how much the frames increase the size of the figures “footprint” and thus, how much the defense is aided in making contact, AKA a tackle.

It worries me that maybe a few of the bases my be too good for the others. Lol

That is the team building process.
In my solitaire league I create parity by giving the weaker teams more new bases next season.

I enjoy watching a team develop over time .

  9. My competition (TVEFL) games are 60 plays long.   We have no restrictions on when you can take a knee.  Taking a knee brings the game one play closer to ending the game.

in my solitaire league you can only take a knee in the 4th Qtr if you are ahead and you have enough downs left to empty the play clock.  Games are 40 plays long in my solitaire league.

  10. Great idea!

You could include a passing contest as well.   Maybe even stick passing.

This is really a cool idea.   You could even change the specific contests each show.  Kind of “Dude Perfect” challenge style.

If I had the means I would totally try this,   Maybe the guys at “Xtreme Tabletop Sports” will see this and give it a go.
