  1. Hi. Sometimes I have two players for the same position. Usually, 2 left tackles and 2 left tight ends. All of the other players on the team receive marks on the bottom of the bases. One mark for right turn, next for straight, and the third for left turn. The more a player (same base and plastic player) play the more consistent they usually become. However, before each game I check the marks and make sure they are still accurate. Enjoy the Journey. T43
  2. Thank you. I promise to post more questions about plays in the future. Very cute daughter. I bet she's your biggest fan. Enjoy the Journey. T43
  3. Hi, George Diamond is a personal hero of mine. 🀩 I have a team, the Shamrock Bay, ☘️ that ride on George's bases and I use his two-color and three-color numbers exclusively on all my teams. 4️⃣3️⃣ Bases. and numbers are usually available on eBay. I've never met George Diamond, but we had several telephone conversations that proved inspirational. I bought his football figures and started taking them apart and reassembling β€œI just wanted to build something different within the hobby,” said Diamond. β€œThere were some guys that were making custom figures, so I came out with my own line of players, which could be molded to whatever specifications a person wanted. The figures come in their standard pose, and what coaches can do is take the arms off the players and then reposition them. Our line has become very popular, we even have our own tournament, BuzzFest, in Harrisburg.” I never participated in Buzzfest. 😞 I never made time. Certainly my loss. Time has certainly flown. Enjoy the Journey. T43β˜„οΈ
  4. Look at this ManiAX helmet and tell me the jersey numbers shouldn't be Red with white or black trim. Enjoy the Journey. T43 ⚑🏈
  5. Hi. Passing is a moral dilemma for me. There's a lot about the passing game I don't enjoy. About 20 years ago I asked myself, What are my values concerning the pass? Positives Negatives I love the long bomb above all else. πŸ˜‡ I dislike incompletions (yawn) πŸ’€ I like interceptions 😁 I dislike short passes. i.e. 5 yard button hooks, back shoulder, etc. (yawn) πŸ’€ I love Pick Sixes πŸ₯° I like man-on-man defense πŸ₯° I dislike zone defenses especially the Prevent defense and the Tampa Two. (yawn) πŸ’€ I love the Bump part of Bump and Run πŸ˜‡ I like swing passes. πŸ˜„ I like screen passes. πŸ₯° My original lists of Positives / Negatives were longer. Out of that self reflection I decided to always have man-on-man defenses. So I draft for corners and safeties that are the strongest/straightest players on the team. They line up on the receivers and attempt to knock the receivers into the next county. On the other hand, I tweak wide receivers, tight ends, and backs to score a touchdown from anywhere on the field. I decided to use dice to determine completions / incompletions / interception. But, I was seriously tempted to get rid of incompletions all together. I strive for the perfect game where every pass play is either an offensive touchdown or a pick six. Hasn't happened yet. That's why I keep playing. ⚑🏈 Enjoy the Journey. T43 ✨
  6. Hi Daryl. I don't participate in Facebook or any social media, except this Forum. Fear of missing out (FOMO) isn't really a phobia I've ever experienced. From what I've seen of Tournament of Champion games on Youtube the participants are running RPOs on nearly every play. Boring from my perspective. I prefer to take my good sweet time and set up plays. I get a greater sense of joy from seeing plays work the way I designed them. I also get a greater challenge from trying to figure out why the play didn't work. Striving for consistency keeps the hobby interesting for me. Enjoy the Journey. T43 🀠
  7. Thank you. I figured you would know. πŸ˜ƒ If FB is the place to be, then it seems the webpages should come down because uncurated webpages are excellent targets for mischief. Enjoy the Journey. T43 πŸš€
  8. Hi Coach Shawn. Cold should make a difference. "Vibrations travel best through solids, because the molecules are closer together in solids." Bases should improve because the plastic should become more dense and the prongs should transmit vibration to forward motion more efficiently. However, "At high temperatures, atoms will vibrate more vigorously than they would at room temperature. Conversely, atoms vibrate less at colder temperatures. In a conductor like copper, these vibrations can cause resistance for flowing electrons." So, I'm thinking a temperature increase, or decrease, of 20 degrees won't make a difference. πŸ€” But it might. πŸ˜ƒ Standing by for your results. Enjoy the Journey. T43 🍺
  9. WOW! πŸ’₯ In the first video the left tackle actually has a good push on the defensive tackle #2. If the Rutgers left tight end could retreat a bit and influence #78 to the outside, then the left tackle would have won that contest I believe. Like in the Tight end does in the second video. I really like that the pulling guard gets right beside the ball carrier and creates a power stack. That play is a beauty by my measure. DOUBLE WOW! πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ In the second video the Nittany Lion tight end gets a heck of a block on the red defender, but can you believe the push the tackle gets when the half back #22 hits the back of his base. Excellent example of power through stacking at the point of attack. I love this game! πŸŽ‡ Thanks for sharing your videos Coach Shawn. πŸ˜ƒ
  10. Hi. I went looking for the Miniature Pro Football Hall of Fame and I discovered that the last entry was in 2018 and the inductee's accomplishments remain unfinished. I remembered the electric football/miniature football publication, Crackin' Plastic started in 2020 and I discovered by 2021 it had lapsed. This is basically what happened to the publication The Tweak which started in Summer 2007 and discontinued in 2010 with issue #15. So, I went to the Miniature Football Coaches Association webpage, miniaturefootball.org, and the last entry is 2018, like the Hall of Fame. Furthermore, some of the links don't work and the FORUM link came up with a Deceptive Website Warning: "This website may try to trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or disclosing personal information like passwords, phone numbers, or credit cards." So I went to the MFCA Facebook page and it appears the page belongs to Elgin Clemons. Going to the opposite side of the continent (from the comfort of my football room) I discovered the Tournament of Champions (TOC) web page was last updated on November 19, 2018 which was the last time the Tournament of Champions Rules were updated. TOC rankings contained 229 names and was last updated in 2020. The results of the six TOC tournaments in 2022 were posted, but the 2023 dates and times remain TBD. The California Electric Football League games and statistics for 2022 are posted, but the Upcoming Events tab doesn't have any upcoming events. The calendar is blank. Is this the result of covid-19, or is something else happening? T43 πŸ™„πŸ€”
  11. I also like the poses of the Playtime football players. πŸ₯° All the arm and leg positioning seems like Defensive player. I don't know who Playtime contracted for the player sculpts. If it was Tudor, then I wish Tudor would hoist the molds out of the cellar, start a Kick Starter, and sell them again. I like the Sky Blue plastic color also.πŸ₯° Enjoy the Journey. T43 πŸš€
  12. Thanks Daryl. Tudor held a contest and the winner of the contest contributed the Munich Moon Sharks, London Jacks, and the Irish Babies. You're very correct on that point. NFL teams are, and always have been, the selling point. The book, The Unforgettable Buzz: the history of electric football and Tudor games, has this quote: " Norman Sas knew that there were too many companies selling too many games. The Electric Football marketplace was going to be a challenge in 1973. Even for Tudor Games, who had the advantage of the NFL license." I use the Munich Moonsharks for my Iron Horse. Also, I use the London Jacks' helmets for my Welsh Dragons. T43 πŸš€
  13. Hi Carl, I like your scheme. It's seems similar to the lottery the NFL uses when they add an expansion team. Your draft lottery adds randomness which keeps each game exciting. Does new talent mean you plan to add new bases from Tudor or ITZ to your existing collection of bases? Enjoy the Journey. T43 πŸš€
  14. Dolphin players that wore number 43. The Dolphins haven't had many players wear the number 43, so it's difficult to come up with a top three. 1. S Bud Brown 2. LB Andrew Van Ginkel 3. RB Terry Kirby List BY ALAIN POUPART
  15. Hi Carl. It seems you are creating parity by removing players from the best teams. πŸ€” If your league is to constantly improve shouldn't the lesser teams use the draft to improve without diminishing the best teams? The championship team becomes the bar that all other teams strive to equal or beat. Or, are you trying to duplicate Free Agency and the situation in the NFL where Owners buy players from the Super Bowl Champions? πŸ€‘ Just curious. Thanks. T43
  16. Hi. To keep a QB in the pocket cut the prongs off. For the Draw I use a magnetic marker but a base with clipped prongs could work just as well. Some leagues don't allow magnets on the field. Enjoy the Journey. T43 πŸͺ‚
  17. Yes. I don't replace just the base but the whole figure. See the attached video. This part is missing from the other videos. Sorry. The Halfback Draw requires a stationary marker if the QB is under center, or if the QB is in the Shotgun or Pistol. Replacing magnetic marker with HB - SD 480p.mov A QB Draw wouldn't require a stationary marker. The backwards running tackle and tight ends may be a rules problem in some leagues. The pretend pass blocking has to be duplicated in some way, or its not a Draw. Thanks for asking. T43
  18. Hi. My Metallians are playing the Christmas Spirit for a place in the Playoffs. The Christmas Spirit is a very fast team and the Metallians found themselves in 4th and 7 on the Christmas Spirit 38 yard line. Too far to kick a Field Goal and too close to punt. The Metallians ran a Draw.* Video is attached.** Enjoy the journey! 🍺 Draw on 4th & 7 Metallians - SD 480p.mov *I play Stop Forward Progress Tackling ** The Metallian QB has a different jersey because I dropped my starting Metallian QB and then ran over him with my chair. 😬 Broke his little plastic leg. πŸ€• A drop of super glue should fix him up. πŸ˜… But will he ever run the same? πŸ€”
  19. Thank you! I have a team called the Knights in White Satin 🀺 (from the song by the Moody Blues). And another called the Arctic Vortex. You can probably guess where I got the idea. πŸ€”πŸ§
  20. I believe the word "naturally" is spot on. I do tweaking the same way. Sometimes it takes playing four or five games for a base to reveal its true talent. I've had bases start out strong and get weak; and conversely weak bases that get stronger literally with each quarter. This is why I draft new players from teams that have game experience. The same is true of receivers running straight, or patterns, and tailbacks running straight or curved. It just takes time to discover what's "natural." Absolutely true. Definitely worth it! This is difficult but some bases will never be competitive. The Tudor Webpage states, "Methods exist to permanently train your Bases to perform any way you like. This is called "tweaking"... I believe there may be a tiny bit of truth to this statement, but by and large, tweaking is temporary. Unless you ruin the base. πŸ₯Ί That's permanent. 🀒 Enjoy the journey. T43 🍺
  21. I still do it that way. πŸ€ͺ Coach Shawn uses Passing Sticks and from the Passing Stick description I believe a coach needs to set up pass patterns. T43
  22. Hi. Just finished the Second half of the 9th Game of the Necromonger Double Elimination Tournament. The Sirens of Titan (thank you Kurt Vonnegut πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ) beat the Botany Bay Buccaneers. In true Necromonger fashion the Sirens of Titan will absorb the best players πŸ’ͺ of the Buccaneers and the Buccaneers will cease to exist. πŸ˜ͺ Here are the highlights* of the second half. 23. Hi. Just finished the first half of the 9th Game of the Necromonger Double Elimination Tournament. The Botany Bay Buccaneers (home) are playing the Sirens of Titan. Loser is out of the Tournament. Here are the highlights*. * I play stop forward motion tackling. The last highlight shows the Sirens of Titan #43 running a draw. The on-field call was, "Forward motion wasn't stopped." However, I slowed down the replay and #43 does appear to be nudged back a couple millimeters by Buc DT #74. However, I ruled the evidence isn't conclusive enough to overturn the call on the field. Any other thoughts on the call? 24. Hi. If it doesn't work this time... I'll give up. 🀯 T43's electric football draw - SD 480p.mov
