  1. I did not know Bill Moreno, but sure wish I had! That book VIBELOG 1971 is amazing and the photos are spectacular! Just so happens that 1971 was the last full solitaire season I ever completed. I can relate to 1971 big time. I really want to meet Bill in the next life, but until then I'm going to enjoy the great contributions he made to this hobby. Bill if you can read these posts from where you are, and I do believe you can, you did a fantastic job! Thanks for all you did for this wonderful hobby! 🙂
  2. Agreed with all posted...spectacular job by all the Strohm's in running Tudor Games over the years. I just bought a custom Ultimate game board right during the "transition" about which I will post pics in the proper thread soon. It is amazing! I may be able to lay claim to the first and perhaps only Strohm-Nutt purchase! LOL. Could be wrong on that, but it would be something unique to remember for years to come.
  3. OK, since I'm getting back into painting for the first time since 2006, I'll ease into it with some easy stuff. These guys are heading for skin tone changes. I decided to go with the 2003 Carolina Panthers team (their 1st Super Bowl in RL). Once the paint dries, I'll base them up and get ready to play a game (after attempting to tweak bases too, I might add). Dang it, what's with these pics turning sideways all the time? 😞 I even used the editor here and rotated it, but no...it won't let me save it. What the @#!%?!!
  4. Making EF history again! Liking me some stick-on numbers right now as I ease back into the hobby. Sure, water slides are still my favs...but these work for speed, convenience and they do look snappy indeed. I have discovered that my huge gorilla fingers are far too fat to get into certain areas on certain figures, like the front of a guard, for example. So, I couldn't find my tweezers while numbering my new Carolina Panthers. For the first time ever, I let an EF player help me out! Yes, a running back lent me a helping hand to line up the jersey number on a player! Worked well. First time in my life I've gotten an EF player involved in numbering players! LOL *(don't know why this pic posted sideways, it looked fine on my computer. I also saved a smaller version, but it still turned out HUGE on this post.)
  5. Me too on this list. Here's pic of a happy grampy just days ago as I received my new Carolina Panters, and I just happened to be wearing my Panthers hat when I went to the mailbox to pick them up, not knowing they were here yet. I'm in sync with the universe! 🙂 I still get the same thrill I did as a kid in the late 60s when my first team order arrived! It just don't get old. I need to learn these plastic players' secret. Many players are almost the same age as I am, yet they still look just the same as they did decades ago. Somehow, I can't say the same for me! Must be the diet they are on!
  6. Personally, I loved the pearl white I used on the pants to make them pop. Seeing them in person makes a difference. Not sure the photos really pick it up.
  7. Thanks Bob and Greg! Now I remember why it took me nine kinds of forever to paint this team. I hand painted the helmet logos and pants stripes which are detailed and tedious to say the least. Now the mystery is solved, Mr. RavennaAl (he always wondered when I would finish painting them since it was taking me months on end)! Now that I'm painting me a team for my league (I gave the original Fire Lizards to Al Dunham), I can't see these days like I did back then, so I'm going to "cheat" and use decals for the helmets and pants stripes this time!
  8. Great! Thanks Chris! 🙂
  9. Well now, those do look snappy! Guess I'll have to keep an open mind. I was just trying to mimic the "NFL Quality" look for my helmet. I'll keep all avenues open. Thanks Terry!
  10. Speaking of decals, I'll need a whole different kind of decal for my Swamp Moose mini helmet I'm making! These would be the same decals the NFL actually uses (as far as the material goes). Anyone know how I can get a decal made for a mini-helmet? These are definitly NOT waterslide decals!
  11. BATON ROUGE SWAMP MOOSE The flagship team of the UNREAL league (of course the Moon Sharks are protesting since they were the first to be sold by Miggle and Tudor Games!) OMG! Why are all these pictures the size of billboards? What a space hog (new team? LOL) these are. This is way bigger than they were in my cellphone! I need to chop these gargantuan photos down to size somehow before I crash the Tudor site! My bad...what a data porker I am! I'll figure it out somehow and clear some space on the servers so other people can post things! To quote Bugs Bunny "What a maroon!"
  12. BATON ROUGE SWAMP MOOSE The flagship team of the UNREAL league (of course the Moon Sharks are protesting since they were the first to be sold by Miggle and Tudor Games!)
  13. OK fans, until I get my new website up and running, I'll jam in the files I have found here to put a spotlight on UNREAL teams and such. Most will have a team mascot post and a helmet logo post which will be turned into a decal as I begin paint up my teams. And, HUGE THANKS to my longtime friend Al Dunham for sending me some pics of the Fire Lizards which I'll post here as well. I also just discovered a FIRE LIZARDS field cover that was done for me and it is off the charts, if I must say so myself! I'm going to order a field cover for every team so I'm going to be quite busy these next couple of years. I also found a Swamp Moose cap that was custom designed and I remember I had T-shirts made for all the teams as well. I had planned to have an UNREAL online store to promote teams. I think I'll do that again too. Why not make a buck or two while enjoying the hobby? LOL (but not L too loud, cuz I'm really going to do this! ) Enough lip flappage, let see some pics up in here!
  14. Yes, hello Chris LeMay! I remember you well. 🙂 I'll figure out how to respond properly inside the correct boxes here at some point. In the meantime, bear with my confusion. Terry, will post DinoBuffs here shortly. I'm fishing around for a good website design service that won't cost an arm and a leg to start a long, tedious rebuild of my UNREAL site. This time I'm backing up files like there's no tomorrow in case they get bought out by another company and wipe out the website like Intuit did with Homestead! 😞 My backside is perma-chapped on that one. I've got the baboon red a#*!
  15. I actually own stock in the Green Bay Packers now, so that kind of locks my nickname in pretty well!
  16. Thanks Terry. I really remember those back to back Super Bowls in great detail. I wanted the Packers to do another back to back Super Bowl win but no! 😞 I went to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas in 2011 when the Packers beat the Steelers 31-25. My printer is an HP Officejet Pro 6960. I have a regular "Winders" computer, not a Mac. I think I have Photoshop on it, but I've never used it. If not I'll get it. I guess early on, my work may suck a lot until I get used to it. Maybe I should create another UNREAL team called the Guinea Pigs or Lab Rats where I can get away with messing up a lot and claim that is just part of their uniform! LOL
  17. Here are some Skelk files I happened to discover on a thumbdrive I have with some UNREAL files on it! Thank God I still have some stuff that survived the loss of my websites!
  18. OMG, Ravenna Al, your wife is smokin' hot! You better sleep with one eye open from now on. I'm going to go shave, get a haircut and put on my best dollar store cologne spray! LOL! (now we have a new controversy to stir things up!) What is your address again?
  19. Thanks Ravenna Al, I'm on it. Issue # 6 of The Tweak! 🙂
  20. Why is there a red bar with "hidden content " above? What's that all about?
  21. UNREAL SOLITAIRE ELECTRIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE founded April 2004 (this is what happens when genetic engineering goes awry!) 51 teams* 1. Baton Rouge Swamp Moose (the team that got all this fake/fantasy stuff started for me!) 2. Munich Moon Sharks (the most famous team since they were featured on the Miggle website and actually sold along with Ravenna Al's Union Jacks) In fact, I believe both these teams are still available through Tudor Games! 3. Hawaiian Fire Lizards (given to Ravenna Al sometime at, before or after the infamous "Motor City Beatdown" at the Detroit Convention. BTW, I cannot find a single photograph of this team. Can you snap a quick shot and send it to me Al? Thanks. I'm going to try to repaint this team so I can have one in my own collection! Of course, this is over a decade or more later and I'll see if I can see well enough to pull this off. They were a challenge even during the peak of my painting/detailing life years ago! 4. Shanghai Shock Monkeys 5. Swedish Space Vipers 6. Iceland Ice Ants 7. Los Angeles Air Scorps (short for Scorpions) 8. Miami Sea Gremlins 9. Rocky Mountain Land Whales 10. Cayman Island Reef Rhinos 11. Rio Hippopossums 12. Dakota Squealin' Octoclams 13. Pacific Island Porcupusses 14. Blue Ridge Brogs (hybrid mix between a Bear and a frog) 15. Boston Bullcrabs 16. Montana DinoBuffs 17. Tasmanian Geckdevils 18. Congo Kangadillos 19. Austrian Saber-Toothed Kualaflies 20. Nagasaki NinjaFish 21. Down Under Thunder Penguins 22. Mississippi River Boars 23. San Diego Scorching Sand Squid 24. Wyoming Skelk (Sky Elk) 25. Scotland SkunkDogs 26. Siberian SlackJaws (distant cousin to the Sasquatch!) 27. Alaska Snow Crabs 28. Barcelona Steaming Beavers 29. New York Tarantucats 30. Texas TigerBats 31. Midway Mobsters * (this team just seems like it doesn't fit and many argue they should be removed from the league, myself included. Who are the many (why those stray thoughts inside my own head, of course! LOL ) Teams 31 through 50 are still missing and I continue to rack my brain and perform serious forensic research to try to dig them up.)
