  1. Six US Presidents played college football. I had hoped there were more as I thought making a Team of all Presidents would be unique. The Six are: John Kennedy for Harvard (Apparently never got on the field) Richard Nixon for Whittier College (Also does not appear to have got into a game) Ronald Reagan for Eureka College (No play of note) Donald Trump for New York Military Academy ( Apparently was a good athlete) Dwight Eisenhower for Army (played RB and LB - the old days when you played both off and def.) Gerald Ford for Michigan (He is the “Star” of the Presidents and had offers to turn pro)
  2. I remember them well. I was blown away when I saw your teams! And the idea of doing teams based on such an obscure league was awesome.
  3. Trying Johnson off tackle again. I replaced the TE Putnam with my blocking TE Hawkins. On the play Johnson sees that the blocking is failing to open a hole and so he cuts inside to gain 5 yards. IMG_3531.MOV
  4. The next play goes better for the offense. Peretta takes hand off between the left tackle and left guard and gets down to the 3 yard line. IMG_3529.MOV
  5. Just testing the lines. Johnson tried off tackle but the Looper fights thru the TE to drop him for a two yard loss. IMG_3530.MOV

  7. I must confess that I despise statements like this. Having served in the Army I saw many “Parade Dress” soldiers that always looked sharp and mostly because they wouldn’t get their hands dirty. As long as they looked good they didn’t actually have to be good. Now getting back to EF, I do like to have my teams look decent. I also like the Beenutt figs, the one problem I have is that I prefer the Haiti size players. I bought some players from Undefeated and they are the largest players I have. figures keep getting bigger and bigger. I suppose it is due to people passing using a throwing QB. People want large figures to block passing and big receivers to make them easier to hit.
  8. Watch electric coach on YouTube I learned a lot from his videos! Most importantly the lesson of being methodical while tweaking.
  9. I agree. Pick the dominant player. Now having said that I do use team success as a tie breaker if needed.
  10. Next to actually playing the game, I believe that tweaking bases so they will do what I want is my favorite part of this hobby. So getting new bases is always exciting to me.
  11. It means the situation is not necessarily a passing situation or a run situation. Thus a “Normal” category has equal odds of being either a Run play or a Pass play.
  12. This year I have started keeping two returners back. They are placed in the endzone between the sideline and the hashmarks (one on each side). I then use a “ball base” at the receiving side 25 yard line aimed toward the endzone. I turn on the field and stop field once the ball base touches the goal line. The nearest returner takes the ball at that spot. So I will have to think how new rules will effect this. I suppose really no change to the procedure, just a change in where the players line up.
  13. I am hearing that NFL is changing the kick off rules to a kickoff version similar to the xFL. Are any of you planning on changing your EF rules to match this? I will run some trials to see what happens before I decide.
  14. Yes!! I also thought they missed out by not starting soon after the SB. and yes the AAF was awesome! Great uniforms and The football play was exciting.
  15. I am excited. I do not really like their option for a 3 point try after a TD but otherwise I am looking forward to it.
  16. To determine the primary receiver I roll a six sided dice. Determine primary receiver 1d6 roll: QB FB HB X receiver Y receiver Z receiver If QB is rolled then anyone can be targeted normally as the QB is assumed to make a great read.
  17. After the defense is set you simply determine which player is your Primary receiver. In solitaire I will randomly determine this, but in head to head the offensive coach will simply declare his choice. Now once the play is started the offensive coach decides which receiver he will actually target. If the primary receiver is indeed the primary receiver then use normal rules for stick passing. If any other receiver is targeted then you must go up to the next longest stick from the one you measure out. EXample: a white stick pass to a secondary receiver becomes a white stick with pressure. Another example: A red stick pass to a secondary receiver becomes a white Stick.
  18. Continuing game today. Oh man check this run out. I tried to see if the guy behind him got him, but i could always see the curl of the invisibase and so I don’t believe they touched. That Dolphin guy hit the blocker to Partlow’s right and that causes his base to flinch with contact but it was not Partlow’s contact. So I had to rule TD. IMG_3499.MOV Lou Partlow now has 154 yds rushing and two Rushing TDs.
  19. In my solitaire games all plays are rolled randomly. I use 12 sided dice. The specific die I use is based on the Down and yards to go for the first down. in the play above I rolled a pass with receiver X as the primary receiver. If marino had been forced to pass to any other receiver then I would have added a pressure stick to the appropriate ball placement stick. IMG_3489.MOV
  20. Next play Dan Marino drops back to pass. It is a white stick pass and Lou Partlow intercepts. IMG_3496.MOV
  21. Dolphins return the Kick off to their 20. They do an off tackle run on first down for a 52 yard gain, IMG_3495.MOV
  22. Dolphins win toss and choose to kickoff. Triangles take it to their own 21 yard line. After two runs behind guard the triangles are at 3rd down and 4 yards to go. I set up Dolphins to defend pass. The dice rolled a sweep to the right. And then Lou Partlow shoots through the gap in Coverage and takes it all the way! IMG_3485.MOV
