WOW! KEEP THEM COMING! ARE YOU COLLECTING STUFF AS WELL?  WE HAVE LOTS OF THINGS WE COULD DONATE TO THE MUSEUM!

Yes, always willing to take donations for the museum. I do collect other stuff as well. The museum is largely made of my personal collection of gameboards, figures and teams. My entire collection is now the property of the museum. The museum is a legally registered and chartered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the IRS and the State of Tennessee, therefore, donations are tax deductible. Unless other wise designated by the donor, anything donated to the museum becomes a permanent part of the museum's collection and will not be resold. The Museum is administered by a currently 7 member Board of Directors of which I am President and Treasurer. The other board members are close personal friends and very active in other areas of the game and hobby. I personally chose each one for what experiences and skills I know they possess in their personal lives and careers that may be utilized in helping me to achieve my goal and dream of preserving the history of electric football. Our main goal is to one day create a unique one of a kind "brick and mortar"  museum, interactive game room and miniature football art gallery totally dedicated to the game of electric football.

Sorry to get long winded but since you asked ... LOL. I do love following your league and would greatly appreciate anything you would be willing to donate.

    Thanks

  2. I began painting with craft paints when I couldn't get colors I wanted from Testors. Don't like to mix custom colors either. Craft paints come in more variety of colors, and cheaper and last longer. Some colors I have had for over 5 years or more. Yes does take a few more coats some times but I still like the overall look of them. I usually prime the figures with white or gray primer first but mostly because I buy the pre-painted figures from Tudor because they are the cheapest. I can still get a good durable finish by spraying the painted figures with either matte or glossy clear coat. I use to only do matte coat but had a customer that wanted a lot of small college division teams and defunct league teams and wanted a glossy finish. I also did them for him cheaper than I normally would. I have pics of some of those teams that i will post later.  Like I have said, painting teams is probably what I enjoy most about the game and hobby and I do it more for relaxation than anything else.

  3. Love the Packers, I had the opportunity to work at Lambeau Field in 2014 on the remodel of the Packers Hall of Fame. Toured the Stadium while I was there. Spent all summer there from mid May to mid August and then several more trips back for repairs and updates.  It was awesome. Trying to find pics but most were on a phone I don't have anymore. Oh well. Still have the hard hat I had to wear with the Safety Class Stickers on it.

  4. Interesting story to go with the brochures:

"I work in the toy industry with a company that does toy innovation and product development. We work with many toy companies and used to go to New York Toy Fair and would always get their new catalog. In addition to that, we bought out a company similar to ours so any pre-1980 catalogs were acquired then. The receipt from 1975 you are getting is for that company. My guess is they ordered a bunch of Tudor games to experiment with and see if they could come up with any new features to license to Tudor. " - Ian Osborne (seller)

I have ordered from Efdw back in the day. They were in NH, close to me. Sad to see they have closed years ago.

looks like the ice cream sandwich balls aren’t available anymore.

I lost my last foam ball a long time ago. Always used a little spit so they would release off the TTQB’s hand. Not covid apporived lol.

Do you remember the guy's name who sold the EFDW balls? I met him at a Miggle Convention way back when. First name was Bill, I think.

  6. Size comparison of balls that I have. EFDW on the far left, Tudor Saturn on the far right. Others from left to right - newer foam rubber, ice cream sandwich, white felt, older foam rubber, extremely used and frayed white felt. Forgot to include the 3rd and Long, but they are not much different than the ice cream sandwich balls.

I did spend some time reading about the toepro PAKs. I will try to make some.
do you need the 3rd and Long footballs to get that type of performance? Currently out of stock. I do have the white felt as well as a couple ice-cream sandwich balls.

Yeah, I think, the type of football used does make a difference, but then again, every one has there own preferences. I primarily use the 3rd and Long balls in league play but some use the foam rubber balls and some use the white felt. The ball that I prefer above all others is the EFDW - Electric Football Discount Warehouse - (aka "the pill"). This is a ball produced by an independent supplier of electric football products from way back at least 15 -20 years ago. It was banned from league and tournament competitions a long time ago mostly because it was heavier and significantly bigger than the balls that were primarily being used at the time, the foam rubber balls made by Miggle / Tudor. The big concern with that ball was that it could be thrown at such a high rate of speed and with such force that it would dent the metal game boards and knock the players over. This was all at a time just before weighting players, customizing figures and using custom built game boards became so prevalent as it is today. Very limited supply of these balls around anymore. I still have 15 of the original 20 I bought when they first came out, but I don't know of anyone else that might still have them or use them.

Play according to TOEPRO Football and you will play with ALL the aspects of special teams using the same things in football, 🏈 and a kicker.  Just make a TOEPRO Punter.

Kit, I do believe that if a person is physically able to use a TTQB passer / kicker they should practice and work on developing the necessary skills to become proficient with them. Alternate methods of passing and kicking were primarily developed to help coaches with physical handicaps to be able to include passing and kicking in their game play rather than just always having to run the ball or "go for it" on fourth down. In the Music City EFL, right now, we have one coach who suffered a stroke last year and is recovering but does not have the use of his left arm. He uses passing sticks for passing and rolls dice for field goal attempts and is the number one seed in our upcoming playoff tournament. He also plays in the Deep South MFL. With out these alternative methods of passing and kicking, he would not be able to compete in these higher levels of competition.

TOEPRO is a very good representation of how to play electric football using the rules of the NFL to simulate games. But there are also many other ways to play and enjoy the game.

Yup, I bought the ultimate board with a grass field at the beginning of this year, before Tudor offered the team fields or covers.  I asked around about putting the packers field cover over the stock field and the consensus was that it would work fine.  The instructions Tudor provides for applying it worked nicely and it works fine and looks great!  Fortunately, I have an understanding spousal unit, who allows me to maintain this hobby.  😊

Really helps to have an "understanding spousal unit" Definitely could not have been doing what I have been doing with electric football for the past 23 years if my wife did not understand and accept my love and passion for the game. We have been married for 20 1/2 years and she has accompanied me to many of the Miggle Conventions and other tournaments that I have attended. She has always been very supportive of everything I do with electric football, especially now, since I am converting our bonus room to The National ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Game Museum and the two upstairs bedrooms to a "media library / office/ archives storage" for the museum.

  10. Nice to see your collection. I have all except the New Ultimate Board. A bit too expensive for me now that I am retired. In over 20 years of collecting I have in excess of 50 game boards. Really only look for the really rare ones anymore for the museum collection. Eventually I will probably get one though. I have my Custom Build 30" x 60" game board (24 1/4" x 53 1/2" playing field) w/table legs to satisfy my BIG BOARD game needs now. Miggle Toys/Tudor made a Table model 2' x 4' also with a price point of $489.95 Introduced in November of 2000. I have a friend that has one. It is really nice. Don't think they sold too many though.
