  1. These are all good. I included sacks, interceptions, safeties and fumbles, but I don’t get a ton of the last 3. I think I need to figure out stats for coverage, QB hurries, and some kind of DL stat showing how they do against their blockers.
  2. The Colts have a 7 play drive stopped at the Browns 14 and missed a chipshot FG. The Browns take over. On 3rd down, they are forced to use a play they were keeping in their back pocket. A little swing pass to Hunt (who misses the block on purpose) that takes advantage of the Colt’s blitz. It’s designed to go for big yardage. But, the Colts are in prevent and it only goes for 20 yards. Browns 10 Colts 7 at the half. IMG_6020.MOV
  3. Mid 2nd quarter. Brents makes a rare mistake, and Elijah Moore breaks free for a 62 yard TD reception. Browns 10-7 IMG_6009.MOV
  4. Thank you. I like writing them up. Helps me appreciate the journey of each team
  5. No score the rest of the 1st quarter. Early in the 2nd, Taylor caps off a 9 play drive with a 23 yard run. Colts 7-3 IMG_6002.MOV
  6. Kareem Hunt returns the kickoff into Colts territory. They then go 3 & out, but a FG from 58 yards is good Browns 3-0
  7. Going Into the last week of the season, the Browns seemed like a very unlikely team to be one hand away from the SuperBowl. They had just been dominated by the NFC West champion LA Rams. And, they were facing the NFC North division champ Steelers in the final week. Then, Jerome Ford caught fire. He rushed for 153 yards and scored 2TDs en route to a 41-36 victory over Pittsburgh. In the Wildcard round, Ford rushed for 123yds and a TD. The Browns upset the #2 seed East division champ jets 42-42 in another high scoring affair. In the Divisional round, Ford had his biggest day of the season, 194yds and 2TDs. The Browns defeated the #1 seed South division champ Jaguars 28-26. The Colts come into the game with ghe 2nd best record in the AFC, though they were a wildcard. Their defense has been suffocating. Their line abc CBs are dominate, and their safeties fly to the ball. They’ve allowed 10 points to the Steelers and 7 points to Ekelar and the Chargers. Jonathan Taylor is a MVP candidate and has carried the load all season. The Browns won my 3rd SuperBowl (1979) against the Cowboys. The Colts won my 4th SuperBowk (1981) over my beloved Packers. One of these teams is headed to their second SuperBowl. Vegas line Colts -5.5 Over/Under 33
  8. Actually, let’s add Gervan Dexter Jr of the Bears with 14T and 1 sack. And, Julian Brents of the Colts with 13T, which is impressive because he played on the outside a lot.
  9. After looking, I think it’s going to be too hard to name a D player MVP. We will do a Defensive Player of the year. Next season, maybe I can add on “QB hurry” and some kind of stat that shows their D-line play besides just tackles.
  10. Let me look at that. I can look at tacked. There are some players that dominated, but it’s hard to tell solely by statline
  11. I’ve narrowed my MVP list to 8 candidates. Please vote for 4 in no specific order. I’ve got 4 people voting here also. My leagues has 4 rounds in the regular season. This is the first year that I’ve had bases that were really well tweaked, so I had to make adjustments to the kickoff procedure before round 2, and again before round 3. So, you’ll probably see more kickoff returns for TD than I’d like. Most of the return yardage happened in week 1. The second most happened in week 2. For this vote that I’ll do to get down to 4 players, I will just use a letter (no name) and the regular season stats. I’ll also use “P” for playoff team, “C” for close contender and “U” for under 0.500 When I do the final vote, I’ll use the player’s name. A. 17 receptions 443yds 7 TDs 1 2pt conversion, 11 returns 542yds 1 return TD (P) B. 65 rushes 435yds 2 TDs, 8 receptions 61yds 1 receiving TD 1 fumble 1 2pt conversion, 7 returns 215 yards (P) C. 55 rushes 517yds 8 TDs 1 2pt conversion, 6 receptions 93yds 2 TDs , 11 returns 500yds 1TD 2 fumbles on kick returns “C” D. 60 rushes 561yds 9 TDs 1 fumble, 7 receptions 62yds 2 returns 171yds 1TD (U) E. 21 receptions 559yds 8TDs 1 fumble, 7 returns 168yds (U) F. 57 rushes 324yds 3 TDs 1 fumble, 14 receptions 302yds 5 TDs, 8 returns 322yds (P) G. 49 rushes 476yds 6 TDs, 15 receptions 247yds 3 TDs, 10 returns 496yds 1 TD (C) H. 31 rushes 442 yds 4 TDs, 14 receptions 217yds 3 TDs (P)
  12. Up next: AFC Championship Game Browns at Colts
  13. What was fun about this game is, though it was defensive, it was not at all ugly! The CBs were playing superb, and the safeties were flying around the ball if a pass was completed. The bases for both teams were straight and smooth. They were just 2 amazing defenses.
  14. Stats of note Austin Ekelar 11 rushes 80yds 1 rushing TD 3 reception 18yds Jonathan Taylor 18 rushes 123yds 1 rushing TD 1 reception 15yds
  15. Play of the Game (though it led to a missed FG) #1 Josh Downs on an end around. IMG_5957.MOV
  16. On 3rd & Goal from the 3, Richardson is back to pass. Pittman is open, but the play is design to go to Downs. Downs gets into the endzone. Colts 14 Chargers 7 36 seconds to go. IMG_5974.MOV
  17. The very next play, #23 and #99 create a hole, and Richardson takes it 36 yards to the 3. IMG_5973.MOV
  18. With less than a minute to go, the Colts are driving. Punt was downed at the 13. QB #5 Anthony Richardson bursts up the middle for 48 yd IMG_5972.MOV
  19. Through 3 quarters, it’s still 7-7. A Colts 9 play drive ends with a missed FG from 45 yds
  20. I was actually thinking that you should do a little NFL thing and draft them 😀
  21. I think that would be awesome, but I’ve always used real player’s names
  22. They were always one of my favorites too
  23. Unbelievable call by the Chargers. 15 seconds in the half. Facing 3rd down and 14 with only 2 first downs in the first half, Ekelar gets the ball on a draw play. Ekelar magic finally. IMG_5944.MOV 7-7 at the half
  24. Taylor shifts his way through the D-Line on his way to a 31yd. Colts 7 Chargers 0 IMG_5935.MOV The Chargers are going to have to get some offense going.
