Greetings on this fine Memorial Day! I’ll make a few observations. Applying Uni-Forms is like hitting a golf ball. You can hit ten golf balls and 3 will be perfect, but one will be awful. You hit ten the exact same way, but none are exactly the same. I start the pants off in the middle lining them up with the marks there, and not the side. I put my numbers on right to left. Why this works better for me, I have no idea. The all purpose figure’s pants are the hardest applications to apply. I need a tutorial on this. I’m missing something. I want to start using a hairdryer to smooth out my helmets…but I’m scared I’ll mess something up. My figures look better to the naked eye than in camera shots. Now that’s off my chest, here are examples of the away Lions and the word mark helmet Bengals I just did. ( I really am going to find that hairdryer.)

So I found the Dutch Masters guide I was speaking of! It was sent inside the box of a Tudor #500 game I got years ago from eBay. It also came with a schedule for the Portland Bucaroos minor league hockey team. Made the purchase a real kick!

Exactly! I have a slew of teams I want in the 70’s style all whites. Vikings, Bears, Colts, Jets, and the Lions season ending one from last year. One could say it’s the same uniform, basically, with just a different helmet. Ok, but they just look so dang good! Again, I’m vintage.

It ain’t Tudor, but if you ain’t impressed by this one, check for a pulse!

In some of my memorabilia somewhere is a pro football guide presented by Dutch Masters. I gotta go find it. Wow! Love those old cigar boxes!

See. That’s the stuff right there! The repurposed case would be good enough. But the Canton Bulldogs!?! Man… outta left field, even. I am not kidding you when I say I needed a pick me up and this was it! If this came out in Uni-Forms, I would so get it. Stellar work on all counts, man!

This is otherworldly! It’s like Heavy Metal meets American Football. There’s this whole universe where the proprietor is an artist, multi communications expert, and an EF savant. I’m not worthy!

Examples of recent teams done. Classic Saints and the Red Storm Texans. Didn’t have a lot of time to set up the full teams, but you get the idea. Working on 70s word mark helmet Bengals at present. These two were a lot of fun to put together!

After 5 minutes of intense negotiations, I am proud to announce I have a 9082 game board and a New Orleans Saints field cover on order! The main concession the wife asked for was that I receive it for my birthday in July. I took this under consideration for quite some time (3 seconds) and it was determined this was a viable option, ( as opposed to ordering it on the sly and having it show up as a “surprise”, and being asked exactly how dumb I thought she was). I wavered back and forth about the field cover and finally settled on the Saints, because while having two unrelated teams play in the Super Dome might seem a bit odd, that dang field cover is going to look boss!

RIP Jim Brown. Gee. With Kapp that’s 2. Some players deaths just make me feel weary. That’s with both these greats. More so with Jim Brown. He was like Ali. You may not have been his fan or a fan of the Browns, but you were aware of him and his greatness. Rest well, sir.

Thanks guys! Preparing to get a new board is always exciting and part of that is the prep that goes into making the decision on what to order and ordering it. Then waiting on the UPS person to bring it. Not quite Christmas morning, but pretty close. I love this hobby!

Not only am I young enough to get the Bruce reference, I am going to run this video again just to be sure I’m seeing this for real! What physics equation explains this?

I don’t have room for an Ultimate Board, but I am strongly considering buying a 9082 board in the near future. So here’s my question. Where is the optimum area of placement for the motor? If I do get this, I want a field cover, so does that affect where I put the motor as well? Also, dumb question time. Is there a difference in the boards sold as AFC/NFC and the team specific boards? I haven’t bought a board in a number of years, save a Red Zone board I bought and have had a ton of fun with, so this is very exciting to contemplate. Any help is highly appreciated.

Nothing but good things to say here! If I were that crafty, I would. Those who can’t, Uni-Form! Thank goodness they came out with those. Participation is key. I gotta tell you though, those Bengals and Oilers look so good it hurts my heart!
