I have been busy....im going to try and play super bowl tonight finally.

I was a big ram fan while growing up...the first time i saw gabriel standing back in the pocket refusing to be tackled and watching deacon jones and merlin olsen chase down opposing qbs....i knew who my team was....i lived through the prothro years and then got excited again when chuck knox took over...seems like every year they went 12-2 and then lost to minnesota or Dallas in the playoffs. Then they finally made it to the super bowl in 79 even though they lost i was proud of my team. When they moved to st Louis i kind of chilled a bit. But anyway...the old yellow and blue uniforms made me reflect back...lol

Capanther super bowl 33 preview. The packers have been in 5 previous super bowls winning 3. The jets have been in 8 super bowls winning 3. Whoever wins will join the los angeles rams with the most super bowl wins (4). The packers and jets met once before with the jets winning 6 to 3 in overtime. The packers defeated the lions..bears...49ers..and eagles to get to the super bowl. The jets defeated the oilers...patriots and raiders. Great past players represented include : barr starr...jim taylor...ray nitschke...paul hornung...fuzzy thurston...forrest Gregg ...willie wood....jerry kramer...boyd dowler...and elijah pitts.....great jets players will be joe namath...matt snell...emerson boozer...don maynard...george sauer...bob mathis....verlon biggs...winston hill....randy rasmussen....bob talamani...john schmitt.....it should be another classic.

Ill check with my youngest son....he is much better at technology than me ☺

The AFL CHAMPIONSHIP had a little bit of it all. Touchdowns ...Interceptions...a blocked punt...an onside kick recovered by the kicking team...a touchdown scramble by an old gimpy leg qb......a kickoff return for another td......when the smoke cleared the jets beat the raiders 28 to 21......the jets move on to meet the packers in capanther super bowl XXXIII. .......some great former jets and raiders include : 12 joe namath....41 matt snell...32 emerson boozer....87 pete lammons.....75 winston hill and 83 george sauer for the jets........21 cliff branch....78 art shell...63 gene upshaw...70 henry lawrence...83 ben davidson...44 marv hubbard...3 daryl lamonica ....25 fred biletnekof and 40 pete banazak for the raiders.....i will put a picture of the jets and packers and a little info on the next post.

I think ill play the raiders and jets tonight ....then play the super bowl early in the week....i have 2 sets of dark jets....im using the more common 3 stripe jets this game....the one stripe jets were made in the first run hoglegs in late 1968 ...much harder to find....the white raiders were one of the rarest of all hogleg teams....i guess millions if boys bought the black jersey ones and not near as many bought the white jersey version.

....eagles missed a 48 yd fg on last play of regulation....taylor scored the games first td and had a long run in overtime period that helped lead to short fg to win the game...bednarik didnt get to sit on him this time...good tough game.

The NFL CHAMPIONSHIP goes into overtime....packers 17 eagles 14....tough game between the survivors of the NFL bracket. I still need to play the 2 championship games...eagles vs packers....in the nfl...then play the jets and raiders in the afl...then the 2 winners meet in the super bowl....so 3 games are left....im going to play the eagles and packers tonight or tomorrow night.

The 2 championship games are set....the jets defeat the patriots 21 to 6 and the jets will now meet the raiders in the AFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. ....the packers will meet the eagles in the NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME .....emerson boozer scored 3 tds ...2 on the ground and 1 was a 70 yd pass play from joe namath......great players from the past include : 32 boozer....12 namath...83 george sauer....66 randy rasmussen..87 pete lammons....13 don maynard....75 winston hill for the jets.........for the patriots....35 jim nance...30 carl garrett....72 larry eisenhower....18 randy vataha....NEXT UP the packers vs the eagles with a trip to capanther super bowl XXXIII on the line.

Good game in oakland ....the raiders slipped by the bengals 24 to 20. The raiders now move on to the AFL championship game and will face the winner of the jets and the patriots. #18 Paul Robinson of the Bengals had a great rushing game and scored 3 tds. Other great players from the past include : 52 dave remington ..25 chip myers...66 bill bergy......and for the raiders 35 hewert dixon...44 marv hubbard...21 cliff branch...63 gene upshaw...87 dave casper...60 otis sistrunk ...41 phil vilapiano and ole mr raider himself 00 jim otto.

Nitschke and butkus trail another gale sayers touchdown...and the famous left side runs of the raider offense as shell and upshaw take the lead up front.

Because i play a tournament style and use the old divisions from the late 60s and early 70s to group the 1st and 2nd round games. Inevitably the raiders and chiefs and bears and packers usually meet at some point in every tournament. It allows me to continue these great rivalries for years to come. The great era of the NFL and Tudor live on.

Ive found i get in to the mood to play 2 or 3 times a year...then in what i call my off season...lol...i pull the teams out and sometimes renumber...or search for spares or new teams...sometimes i buy teams just to compare to mine and maybe keep one player thst looks a little better for my set then resell the other 11.....i think thst us why so many of my teams have stayed in great shape...many i have had multiple teams of and just kept the best 11...it has been a very good hobby i have been able to enjoy...and i have got to talk to a lot of good people along the way like you ☺

33 tournaments in about 15 years or so....i probably average 2 a year....i think that i got fired up when someone told me that tudor had started the forum again.....ill probably take a break for awhile at the conclusion of this one....typically it takes 25 games to play one tournament but i like it cause all of my 26 teams play at least one game...ive been having a lot of fun in the last couple months with the little teams.

Just for fun and curiosity i went back and looked at the past tournaments....in 32 super bowl tourneys ....of the 6 teams remaining with a shot at super bowl 33....the packers have been in 5 super bowls and won 3....the eagles have been in 1 and won 1......the raiders have been in 8 and won 2.....the jets have been in 8 and won 3......the bengals and patriots have never been in a super bowl.

Lombardi's packers are heading to another championship again with a 28-7 win over the 49ers. John brodie for the 49ers threw 3 interceptions with willie wood running one back for a pick six. I think if the packers do win...ill get the white jersey team out and the dark jersey green helmet eagle set...it would be close to what each team wore in 1960.

One of those games that remind us why we enjoy this game . eagles 35 steelers 28.....high scoring with big plays from some of the all time greats....franco harris for the steelers and wibert montgomery had monster games with 3 tds a piece....bradshaw to stalworth and sneed to charmichael for long pass plays....but the biggest play of the game came right before halftime as big bob brown of the eagles had a pick 6 ...always enjoy seeing the old big lineman score....some of the greats represented were 31 montgomery...17 harold charmichael .76 bob brown..60 chuck bednarik and 16 norm snead for the eagles.......and for the steelers 75 joe greene....68 lc greenwood....58 jack lamert...12 terry bradshaw...52 mike webster...20 rocky blier...and 82 john stalworth.....the eagles move on to the nfl championship game to meet the winner of the packers and 49ers.

I coached high school football for a long time...i used to tell many kids ..when u have some extra time...go on the internet or youtube and watch some of these guys like jim brown...the "bus"...mike Pruitt...etc....so many great players ...such a great learning experience and appreciation for what the game is supposed to be like.

Defending champion broncos are knocked out of this season tournament by the bengals 17 to 14.....i am now down to the final 4 for the NFL and AFL.....in the NFL EAST ...the steelers host the eagles...in the WEST the 49ers travel to the packers....after those 2 games...i will head back to the AFL ...where in the EAST the jets will host the patriots....and the bengals will travel to oakland in the WEST. .....GREAT PLAYERS from days gone by include: 44 floyd little...24 otis armstrong...57 tom jackson....for the broncos.......for the begals...84 bob trumphy ....12 gregg cook...58 al beauchamp...78 anthony munoz.....next up...the eagles face the steelers.
