Removing rust from board

Recommended Posts

Pulled out one of my Model 500’s and was surprised to find rust on one end of the board frame.  See pic.
Does anyone have a good technic for removing rust?

the rest of the board is fine just this on edge,

A little sanding might remove that.  You might also try EvapoRust.

EIther way, after you remove the rust, you'll have to put something like clear coat on it.  And store in the attic rather than the basement.

It is stored in my bedroom which is in a dry part of Idaho.   Spring is really our only wet period.  But this has been a wet spring.

I’ll look into the EvapoRust.  I have never used that (or heard of it).  Thanks.
