The Deep South MFL Playoffs and Championship Weekend

Recommended Posts

For those of you who may live in or near the Atlanta, GA area or would be interested in traveling to this area the weekend of February the 17th and 18th. The Deep South MFL is going to be having their league Playoffs and Championship Weekend in Cartersville, GA. Cartersville is approximately 30 miles north of Atlanta off of I-75. I plan on going provided the weather is good and I am not in the middle of having eye surgery for cataracts (sucks getting old). It is about a 3-hour drive for me, but this is the group I enjoy going to see play the most, since I have a lot of good ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Community friends in this group, and I used to live in the area of Atlanta and Carterville over 30 years ago. This is also the group that I used to play competitively with a lot in league and tournament competitions and where most of my experience comes from in playing competitively.

I am going to be posting all the particulars for this event in the League and Tournament section of the forum later today. Hope to see somebody there from this forum, Daryl Collins, (hint, hint??) LOL!! Have a great day.

If available, it would be fun but it is doubtful making it would even be possible. Having never competed, how does that work exactly? I believe there is a 3-gram weight limit per player. Do teams have to be from the NFL or any particular league? Are coaches assigned slots in a playoff pyramid?  or are there games to play to earn playoff slots. Please pardon my ignorance in this area. If it ever did become possible and not willing to break up my NFL collection, would my Texas Thunderducks even qualify as long as they met all competition requirements?

Just FYI, I used to live in Dunwoody [Atlanta suburb] back when Jimmy Carter still served Georgia. It is understandable about getting old sucking [eggs]. Diminishing eyesight has now limited me to 3 stripes per team as 5 stripes are no longer possible. Playing itself is getting harder but is still possible though. 🙂 Should it be possible to do a road trip when it is time to finally quit, a visit out to see you with a museum donation would be awesome.

I wish you the best of everything such as health, safe travels, and joy. Blessings, Curt

I don't even try to do stripes or helmet logos anymore. Fortunately a superb paint job never made the difference between winning and losing. The Game remains thrilling for me and the draft is looking real promising this year. I just scored more butterscotch bases!

Enjoy the Journey.    T43.    🏈♾️

PS   I think the weight limit is 4 grams.

Love to read about that league, boy oh boy! 32 coaches, That is my dream, to create a league with 32 reliable coaches. Or, do they just play a single tournament?

Yes, it is the largest and most successful league in this area. I have participated in it when it was much smaller, called the Oxford (AL) EFL and primarily used Tudor and Buzzball equipment. Where I met and got to know, most of my closest friends in the ELECTRIC FOOTBALL Community. Run by great EF Legends and Ambassadors David Nichols and Charles Lane. Creators and Host of the Bama Blast and now River City Blasts EF and TOC tournaments. Most of the members of our Music City EFL also participate in these league and tournament events. Certainly, the best thing going around here in the way of Electric Football activity.
