Electric Football takes on... Madden!

Way back in the day, I loved Madden. Had it for the PC, Genesis, SNES, Playstations 1 and 2, Xbox, and the 360.

Then I started noticing that the variety of added features started declining.

Then I noticed that even after all these years, offenses and defenses were based more on forcing completed animations than actual logic in the gameplay.

I am convinced this is what brought me back to Electric Football in 2000, because I could decide the level of realism in the game, and my skill in the game was just that, my skill.

Who still plays Madden, and does it differ from your Electric Football experience?

I love this question/topic. I played electric football back in the 70’s and when I got older I started playing Madden, played most versions through 2015. I’ve gotten a little burnt out by the same routine, buy game put it on all madden and learn to beat it. Once you learn the trick in each version it’s pretty much a boring unbeaten season through the SB, I think I put it down after winning 40 straight…lol. Electric football is special…I love the idea of coming up with my own teams/league in electric football, building base talent and playing solitaire as a neutral observer to see who’s talent wins out. That is the allure that brought me back in.

Carl, that's a great answer. It's been a twenty-plus year road of discovery for me. I used to play competitive Madden way back as well, and compared to that, Electric Football is still the better experience, whether in a league with others or solitaire.

I had forgotten about the "Ultimate" rosters in Madden that you have to pay $$$ for now, so thanks for the reminder.
