Game 4
Bm steelers 21 bm colts 16
The colts got down inside the 20 at the end of the game but because they were trailing by 5 they had to go for it on 4th down and unitas threw for roy jefferson but it was picked off by andy russell of the steelers. The steelers move on in the winners bracket and the colts will have to battle back through the loser bracket....great game by franco harris for the steelers and norm bulachi for the colts.....this game completes the eastern section games and now ill move on to the western portion of the bracket....up next and old black and blue division showdown between the bm vikings and bm lions.

Game 3
Bm Washington 24 bm browns 20
Sonny jurgenson found charlie taylor down the middle for the game winner on the next to last play as washington won 24-20....up till this play the game had been a big play running duel between the redskins larry brown and jim brown of the browns....outstanding game between 2 old nfl classic teams.....i figure people who follow my tournaments pretty much know who the old players on the teams are anymore.....up next will be the last game of the eastern bracket with the bm colts facing the bm steelers......i think ill use the old 1967 bm teams for the remainder of the first round...then start using some hog teams after that....its great to be playing again....thanks for checking out the games ..and thanks to tudor for the forums.

Bm Cardinals 19 bm cowboys 13
Another good game ....these 2 built quite a rivalry in the late 60s and early 70s.....i think in 1970 or 71 the cardinals drilled the cowboys 38-0 on monday night football...that was a shocker ......the stars of this game were terry Metcalf of the cards and calvin hill of the cowboys.....the cardinals led 10-3 at halftime .....great cowboys included 35 hill....17 don Meredith....32 walt garrison....22 bob hayes...74 bob lilly and 55 leroy jordan.....the cardinals were led by : 21 Metcalf...17 jim hart....67 larry stallings ...72 dan dierdorf....and 81 jackie smith.......up next is a couple more rare 1967 bigmen teams the d browns and the w spear redskins

First rounds are a bit time consuming to get all the teams at least two games in but then it doesn't take long to work in the later rounds. This will be my first attempt at this...im sure ill see things i like and dont like.....if nothing else i will get to use all the teams more than i usually do.and an early loss does not eliminate a team...ill probably do a 10 team AFL TOURNEY after the completion of this one.... i do like ur point about a single elimination final 4.

BM Giants 24 BM Eagles 14
Good game....late in the 4th qt with the eagles trailing 17-14.....homer jones of the giants had a 70 yard pick 6 of a norm snead pass and the giants win 24-14.....the giants advance and the eagles will have to battle in the loser bracket.....outstanding eagles from yesterday include : 16 snead....22 timmy brown....37 tom woodeshek.....18 ben hawkins....88 gary pedigrew....and 60 chuck bednarik ......the giants were led by 45 jones....30 ron johnson....16 frank Gifford....14 ya tittle....70 sam huff and 79 roosevelt brown......up next will be the bm cowboys vs the bm cardinals.

Going to try this format....i usually just do single elimination....im going to use the old 16 nfl teams before the merger in 1970.....this one will take a little longer to play but at least some of my favorite teams wont just be be one and done......ill post game 1 results next.

Super Bowl
Bills 27 49ers 21
Great game that featured two great running backs ....32 oj simpson for the bills and 40 ken willard for the 49ers.....oj had 3 rushing tds and 1 receiving....willard had 3 rushing tds....the 49ers were in striking distance but harry jacobs of the bills intercepted a john brodie pass on the last play to seal the deal for buffalo.....outstanding buffalo bills today include : 32 simpson...64 jacobs....58 mike Stratton....66 billy shaw....25 haven moses....and 82 paul costa....great former 49ers include : 40 willard...18 gene washington...70 charlie kruger....82 ted kwalick....69 woody peoples..64 dave wilcox....and 57 frank nunley....the bills were a transition ( hog / chicken mix ) and the 49ers were a complete hogleg team......i think my next tourney will be a double elimination format and i will use all 26 teams and break it into the 16 teams of the old nfl...and 10 teams of the old afl.

Well hope to finally get in the championship game tonight...bills and 49ers are ready .....i always look forward to the championship game....my mind is already trying to decide what type tournament to do next.....for years now ive been doing the single elimination tourneys.....but im thinking for the next one im going to try a double elimination setup ...one for the old nfl and afl.....least my favorite teams wont go 1 and done like they did in this tourney.....but anyway...its a great hobby we share and im thankful to tudor for this forum.

Bills 19 colts 7
Afc championship game ....i decided to play this one on my latest pickup ...the small 520 nfl colts vs packers field .....this one was dominated by the bills offensive line and the running of Cookie Gilchrist and OJ Simpson.....the colts only Td came on a john Mackey kick return.....outstanding bills include : 34 Gilchrist....32 simpson....66 billy shaw...25 haven moses...67 reggie McKenzie....81 bob chandler....and 12 joe Ferguson......the colts were led by : 88 mackey...32 mike curtis....78 bubba smith...36 norm bulachi....19 john unitas....and 89 gino marchetti ......up next is the SUPER BOWL....the hogleg w 49ers will meet the transition ( hog chicken mix bills )

I agree...i appreciate tudor games has been great to deal with....i have bought a game...a stadium....multiple number sheets...and a few teams...aleays quick and dependable

49ERS 13 VIKINGS 10
hard to not see snow at a playoff game late in the year in Minnesota....the vikings had a good 4th qt drive but missed a fg and then ken willard of the 49ers broke one off tackle and 2 plays later ...then the 49ers made a short fg and move on to the super bowl to meet the winner of the colts and bills....great vikings from yesterday include : 84 gene washington....11 joe kapp....59 lonnie warwick....70 jim marshall...88 alan page...81 carl eller and 30 bill brown....great 49ers include : 40 willard...12 john brodie...70 charlie kruger....75 forest blue....82 ted kwalick....and 64 dave wilcox......up next is the AFC championship between the bills and the colts .

Haven Moses and OJ Simpson each had 2 tds and the bills move on to The AFC championship and meet the colts....... Great bills include : 25 moses...32 simpson...81 bob chandler....15 jack kemp....40 jd hill and 66 billy shaw....great chiefs include : 21 mike garrett...89 otis taylor....14 ed podalak....86 buck buchannon....55 ej holub ....51 jim lynch and 63 willie lanier.....i think for the championship games ill use 1967 bigmen and then use the hoglegs in the super bowl....up next is the 49ers and the vikings with a trip to the super bowl on the line.

Colts 20 chargers 17 ( overtime )
Exciting game....the chargers scored on a hadle to alworth pass play with 2 plays left to take the lead 17-14...then john mackey from the colts returned the kickoff to the 48 to give the colts a 2 out of 6 chance for a field goal ...and the colts nailed it to send the game to overtime..the colts won the flip...and marched down and kicked another fg to win and move on to the afc championship....great chargers include : 19 alworth ...21 hadle....27 gary garrison...23 paul lowe....77 ernie ladd...and 86 earl faison......the colts were represented by : 88 mackey....15 earl morral....41 tom mattie....78 bubba smith....,74 billy ray smith....and mike curtis.....next up is the chiefs vs the bills and the winner will play the colts in the afc championship....the vikings and 49ers will play in the nfc championship .

Since Minnesota was the home team i was going to pull out the snowboard but i didnt have time....but ill get one in on it somewhere down the line....the vikings featured a balanced running attack with bill brown...dave Osborne and chuck foreman all having positive rushing yards for the game.....great vikings from the past include: 30 brown...41 Osborne...44 foreman...84 gene washington....11 joe kapp....and 59 lonnie Warwick......the cowboys were led by 35 calvin hill...12 roger stauback....22 bob hayes...70 rayfield wright ...32 walt garrison ...and 74 bob lilly.....next up will be and afc matchup between the chargers and colts.

Ken willard had another big game for the 49ers scoring 3 tds and helping the 49ers get to the nfc championship game and meet the winner of the cowboys and vikings.....great 49ers include : 40 willard....12 john brodie....82 ted kwalick ...88 dick Windsor....70 charlie kruger and 18 gene washington.....great saints include : 32 tom Barrington....17 billy kilmer....25 al dodd....74 dave rowe....and 46 danny Abramowicz.....up next ill stay in the nfc and play the cowboys and the vikings.

Exciting game in the last few minutes....the steelers trailing by 7 faced 4th and long and decided to kick a fg ...kick was good and then the steelers kicked onside and recovered it....but on the first play threw and interception and the bills ran out the clock.....great bills from the past include : 81 bob chandler....25 haven moses...40 jd hill....32 oj simpson....66 billy shaw ....and 15 jack kemp ....great steelers include : 75 joe greene...63 ernie holmes....12 terry bradshaw....32 franco harris...34 andy russell...58 jack lambert...and 82 john stallworth .....the 2nd round games are : cowboys vs vikings and saints and 49ers in the nfc .....the afc final four are : the bills vs the chiefs and the colts vs the chargers.....up next will be the big 49ers and the big saints.

The saints dominated the line of scrimmage and all the offense the rams could muster was a couple of long td passes from roman Gabriel to jack snow...the saints had a couple of time consuming drives that put the game away in the 2nd half.....great saints from yesterday include : 38 tony baker....35 bob Gresham....17 billy kilmer....76 dave rowe...83 dave parks...25 al dodd...and 46 danny Abramowitz....the rams featured 18 Gabriel...84 snow....75 deacon jones...74 Merlin olsen...76 rosey grier....85 lamar lundy....and 87 billy truax......up next is the last first round game between the bills and steelers.

The close games continue in this tournament...after 6 games the biggest margin of victory has only been 7 points......the chiefs led 14-13 at the half.....many chiefs contributed to the victory as otis taylor...bobby holmes and fred arbanas all had tds for the chiefs.....great browns from the past include: 44 leroy kelly ...32 jim brown....86 gary collins...16 bill nelson....72 gerry sherk....66 gene hickerson....71 walter johnson and 89 milt morin......the chiefs featured : 89 taylor....45 holmes ...84 arbanas....16 len dawson...63 willie lanier....61 curly culp....78 bobby bell....and 88 chris burford......up next its the saints vs the rams.

Big stars on the field...joe namath...lance alworth...matt snell...don maynard....paul lowe....but if i was going to name a mvp it would be #86 earl faison the big defensive end for the chargers...he was all over the field making tackles on boozer and snell and harassing namath all night.....the jets led 10 to 9 at halftime...but the 2nd half belonged to the chargers ....great jets grom yesterday include : 12 namath...13 maynard....41 snell...32 boozer....and 75 winston hill.....great chargers from the past include : 86 faison....19 alworth...23 lowe ...21 john hadle...and 27 garry garrison....next up its back to the nfc bracket with a matchup between the giants and the 49ers.

Another great game.....mel farr and steve owens for detroit and oscar reed and bill brown for minnesota had great games......the vikings bill brown scored the winning td on the next to last play of the game on a seam pass from joe kapp......the vikings will meet the cowboys in round 2.....great lions from yesterday include: 24 farr...36 owens....88 charlie sanders...71 alex karras ....55 wayne walker....and 53 mike lucci.....great former vikings include : 32 reed...30 brown...11 kapp....88 alan page....81 carl eller and 84 gene washington.....up next its back to the afc.....jets vs chargers.
