2019 Season Review
LEAGUE POWER RATINGS:
CRITICAL ASSESSMENT OF WHERE THE LEAGUE NEEDS TO IMPROVE: In the passing category the Long Island EFL needs improvement, tweaking of skills from our rookie coaches, and an overhaul in the types of plays being run by coaches, but overall the strategies used are in uniformity with other leagues around the country with more of the traditional original Tudor rules in place. We have two highly competitive passers in Joe Cerabino and Ed Viglietta. Vigs is a powerhouse coach who can hit guys consistently from 0-60 yards on the fly, but he runs the ball consistently well with his teams too, making him a talent!
LEAGUE POWER RATING: (GRADE: B+) Competitive.
RUSHING (GRADE: A): Lots of rushing,
SPECIAL TEAMS (GRADE: A) Excellent special teams foundation (This league saw 81, 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns in 224 regular season LIEFL games played in 2019)
PASSING (GRADE: B) Average passing
DEFENSE: (GRADE: B+) Strong defense
PASS DEFENSE: (GRADE: C+) more work needed defending the pass.

In the past few years we have spent great lengths of time enjoying the craft of miniature football by watching leagues around the country on You Tube and following the rules through Tudor Games made by buzz-ballers who compete in the game. We love that people have taken our hobby to new heights and we are grateful that this game has expanded beyond any of our childhood dreams! It is incredible that we have kept the hobby alive, revived and survived after all these years. We hobbiests are resilient enough to keep the integrity of the invention alive. Norman Sas would be proud of us all! And, Kudos to Tudor for having the determination to sail the course.
This year's LIEFL favorite to win it all has emerged! The magical NFC West Los Angeles Rams (8-3) are the favorite in the LIEFL to win it all as they look for the express train to LIEFL Super Bowl XVI, which will be played this coming December 15, 2020 under the sun in Tampa. After winning back-to-back titles, once as the Division Champion, and the other as the Wild Card Team, the Rams are attempting to make LIEFL history trying for a three-peat after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in Long Island Super Bowl XIV in 2018, 31-28, in a nail-biter as the clock ran out on the Chargers set-up with no timeouts left. We don't know how they do it, but it seems they too have a mind of their own.
This year in the AFC, the Chargers took it to the final seconds of the AFC Divisional Championship losing to the Buffalo Bills 49-48! And, in Long Island Super Bowl XV in 2019, this past season, the Rams beat the Miami Dolphins 44-41 in (OT)! Miami's Mark Duper ran back a 94 yard kick return that could have won the game for the Dolphins, as we watched the game clock run down with no time outs left, in a thrilling Super Bowl victory for Los Angeles! While it will be a tough road to get back to the Granddaddy of them all, the blue-collar Rams will compete with the best of them as they work hard for another title.
Los Angeles Rams Running Back Wendell Tyler, is a consistent force. Tyler, who rushed for 33-362-8TDs in 2019, will run behind an LIEFL All-Pro Line "The Fabulous Five" who have pushed back on being defied a Super Bowl victory the past two seasons. Rams wide-receiver, The "Reverend" Isaac Bruce was 18-1011-5 TDs with two100-Yard Kick Returns KR's all-purpose yards in 2019. Bruce will be the key to the Rams run for another title led by LIEFL All-Pro's Rosey Grier, Deacon Jones, Jackie Slater, and Chris Long along with Nolan Cromwell. The Rams are 17-4 in the past two seasons.
This year will be their toughest challenge yet with a new draft and new players in what we feel is a highly competitive league! The Chiefs, Jets, Giants, and Saints received the top player bases for the 2020 season. Time to rise to victory and compete!
Like most competitive leagues around the country, over the years we found ways to improve every team in our league. Player bases who cannot compete and maintain our sustainable standard are quickly replaced. In 2019, LIEFL saw the resurgence of the Miami Dolphins, after we took all of their player bases and turned them into runners for other teams. The Dolphins lost 18 games the past three seasons after the break-up, and after three strong draft seasons the Dolphins are back, making huge strides in building a wall in the trenches for running back Mercury Morris! In the season finale, our six-time LIEFL Super Bowl Champion Miami lost to LIEFL returning Super Bowl XVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, 44-41 in OT!

* LIEFL RECORD FOR SEVEN GAME SEASON 7-GS
We were pleased to announce the following awards voted on by the coaches of the LIEFL who vetted the entire process with strict guidelines. We base the awards on dominance of team and player, blocking for offensive yardage champions and statistics, defensive shut downs, and overall reliability in creating the success of the team. It was a tough call not making an Atlanta Falcon the best lineman with the numbers that Atlanta's Gerald Riggs put up, but in the end, the choices we made were the right choices based on how far each team made it in the playoffs.
