Week 2 action

Recommended Posts

Texas coming off a disappointing loss at home is leading the 1-0 Nevada BlackJacks in Las Vegas at halftime 10-7, courtesy of a 40 yd fg by Benito Rojas on the last play of the half  (pic below). HB Duante Hill of Texas has 44 yds rushing and Blackjack rookie HB Orlando Moore has 71 yds rushing. On Nevada’s first drive QB Mason Cross threw an interception on a deep ball ending a promising drive. In other scores Florida went to 2-0 beating the California Pacifics (now 0-2) 21-12 and the Virginia Pirates, 1-1 got their first win beating the defending champion Arizona Flames in Phoenix 28-14. The Flames are also 0-2 now and looking for answers. The game I will film next will be the Ohio Comets 1-0 taking on the1-0 Pennsylvania Bucks in Columbus. I will update this thread on the Western division Texas, Nevada game at its conclusion. Thanks for reading!

The Tornadoes( 1-1)get into the win column by defeating western division rival Blackjacks 24-13. Texas HB/Safety Duante Hill took game mvp honors rushing for 99 yds and a TD and intercepting a pass in the first half. Nevada (1-1) wasted the leagues first 100 yd rushing effort as rookie Orlando Moore ran wild for 138 yds. Nevada pulled to within 17-13 in the 4th quarter but failed on the ensuing onside kick attempt. Texas QB Gunner King then put the game out of reach hitting TE Carl Spoon who was wide open in the end zone for a 13 yd Td and the games final score.

Coach Carl, I forgot to tell you in the Ohio Comets at Texas Tornadoes post that I like the way you do field goals and PATs. Does each team have their own kicker, or do you have two kickers that you use for all your teams?

Enjoy the Journey.   T43.   🏈♾️

That IS a novel way of determining field goals! Is that novel or has that method been around for awhile? It seems like more I know about this hobby only tends to spotlight how much I DON’T know about this hobby!

Journey On!

Hi Daryl, the concept of ball on base for kicking has been around awhile. I first saw it on YouTube on a channel called Calgary Electric Football League. Now my operation differs a little bit from theirs but that is where I got the basic idea.
