STARTING AND ENDING A LEAGUE: The LIEFL is in its Final Run in our Journey. My three seasons in the league (Levi Vick) has been such an honor. I came in shy, willing to give my all, and find the competition as I would in any league. It is very sad that After 52 years in the hobby, Billy O'C and Ed Viggs are closing the league. The LIEFL does a great job communicating. We email everything and stay connected until the next and last season begins.

We were astounded by the interest in the league when the National EF Game Museum posted a few of our game write-ups to a broader audience. That made the difference in our postings. We wish every league in the country participated in the forum, even Solitaire Leagues. It shows how interested and passionate people are for this hobby.

We can assure you, when time allows, we love reading about your leagues and innovation as well. All of the EF writers have such interesting views and the debate about advanced play is tested through the competitiveness of all of league experiences, not just a few.

When the LIEFL finishes we will put up our new Forum page for the LI Trailblazer League if the league formation succeeds, so that there is no confusion between the two leagues.

Our LIEFL 2023 Super Bowl XVIII winner Johnny-Freeport said, "Some of these fools in this league come from countdown and turn leagues, and they have such issues with rules, and this fast setups league. That's why I would never use Tudor rules. I played football too and there is nothing like having to think fast and react with seconds to think. I am a Grown "A" man, and I don't have all day to play an electric football game. I walked away with the cash prize, and I completed my goal last season, to win it all. No dice for me. Show me the money! I will only will play for money. I don't care if it's a passing league or running, it's the points on the board that wins games, no matter how the job gets done. Guys complain that all I do is run. What's the difference? You got your butt kicked trying to stop my run game. I can pass on you all day as well too! I tell these LIEFL fools, What are you complaining about? You didn't like my style? Go whine to mom. Just bring all the coaching skills you want, but at the end of the day, win or lose, I am not wasting my time on fun leagues. I am all business when it's about electric football. My players are fiercely vetted from thousands of player bases. For me, pride is always on the line, and so is respect, talent, and the pace of the game that drives my competitiveness. Bobby Biggs brother Andre is still whining that his undefeated Gladiators (16-0), were romped by my Falcons. If he were playing by the fast paced LIEFL rules, his team would have been destroyed with no time left to think. Ed Viggs undefeated Redskins walked away with their feather between their legs, but you don't here Viggs who is really a professional E-Baller complaining. He goes about everything silently."

While Freeport may regret his words in the upcoming season, by now you probably know from reading, Johnny is also a legendary trash talker, whose teams are now a marked men in the league. The talk around the league is that everyone wants a piece of his Falcons in 2024! Coach Joey Pizz said, "His Birds will be dealt with like no other, and I hope my Vikings can get a piece of them. They are a good team, but I think there is better. My Buccaneers want revenge and we were on the rise in 2023. We played one of the best games ever in that 34-28 loss to them in week #5. That was the deal-breaker for my Bucs. If we had won that game, you never know how far my team could have gone. I am going for the best linebacker player bases possible in the Draft."

(Levi) As the second newest guy in the LIEFL, and after looking through all of the incredible LIEFL records, the last seven or eight LIEFL seasons have shown huge strides in competitive both play and appearance in our 67-BIG MAN league, which transitioned in 2008. The man behind it all using his amazing organizational skills is William, Billy O'Connell. I am so happy that Coach Joey Pizz got me into the league, but also terribly disappointed that this is it.

LIEFL Coach Kevin Mack said, "It would be hard to match how O'C runs things. He keeps it together, he's the glue, the ironman who knows how to run things like the back of his hand. As an athletic man, he understands who we all are, and he just gets people, as a Professor of Communication. He can deal with the best of them. That proof will be in the documentary he has worked on for 36 months. We have deep respect for how he has cherished the hobby because we all do too. The guy has written books, made documentaries, and then, put athletics on top of all that, and you have a master organizer as is evident by what he asked us to do by submitting articles that few read on the LIEFL. We weren't happy doing this, but here we are. I felt like a student again, LOL!"

Who will be the last LIEFL XIX Super Bowl winner? Whatever the 2024 March Draft produces will bring an exciting rigor to this vetted league. We only play for money! It's put up or shut up here on the island! We have not talked much after Johnny Freeport's Super Bowl win, but the excitement is great! Bobby Biggs said, "I knew going into this that it was Billy O's last year after running this league for as long as he has, but I am not sure I will find another league like it around here. O'C was 100% transparent and he keeps it real and not adverse about people's opinions. He welcomed all of mine. He is the real deal and nobody runs a league like him. I was disappointed in my coaching and I didn't seem to get the cylinders going. These teams I used would crush any team in the last league I played in. My favorite was Seattle's Marshawn Lynch. Trust me he can play in any league. I wish I could bring him with me, but O'C said he is taking his entire collection and he is going to donate stuff. I will probably join Levi's LI Trailblazer proposed league. That would be bigger than the LIEFL with 12-14 coaches. I would love my brother Andre to bring his skills here. One thing that makes the LIEFL super is committed coaches who are never late, are always ready to play, and we are cohesive with great synergy when it comes to being reliable."

CHANGE ON THE HORIZON?: Coach Paddy Brannigan said, "A league doesn't work when its weak. Meaning, people who showup, sure like to have fun, but in reality a money league from this experience runs much different, and the intensity is real between coaches. Not a single coach missed a game this year. Winning $3200 dollars is a great way to enhance competition for those who think these league's may not be advanced. Playing solitaire is vastly different from playing against ten or twenty coaches, but imagine 32 coaches in a league? That would be incredible. I would compete, but also get my butt beat. One on one, I have been pressing Billy O'C to invite the Nassau League in our final season to make for a true historic success. This would help transition Levi's proposal for his new league, and get things running smoothly, but O'C said he is too busy, and he said that the guys might not be reliable. He spent very little time involved in the LIEFL this season because of the Yankees Ray Negron Documentary. Levi did so much! A new LIEFL this season with 22 or 23 coaches in the league, would be so competitive, without a doubt."

MOTIVATION: Coach Matt Zoo-York,the South Bronx Native and last year's LIEFL Super Bowl winner said, "I wouldn't mind helping manage the league, but who would be willing to vote on this in the league, I don't know. And how would we divide the teams? Who would open their home on game day, and what about game boards, rules, etc.,? Not an easy thing, but I would be thrilled if 12 or 13 coaches joined in the last season. With league dues alone, the payout would be over $5,000! And add the sponsor's $$$, and we have an exciting league. Money talks in New York and people have to put their money where their mouth is. Johnny-Freeport is great for electric football! I was thinking what will he do without the hobby. I don't think O'C will be playing anymore and Joe Bino will take his place."

Coaches Joe Bino and Billy O'C haven't responded yet to this.

Upcoming LIEFL Events:

I'm 67 and aging backwards so, remarkably, I do have all day to play electric football.  👼

I completed my goal and my Shamrock Bay won it all. Before that my Oughtin' Otters won it all. And before that my Sirens of Titan won it all...

Come to think of it I won every game I played. 😃👍

I remember when I was 12-years-old I always had a couple hundred dollars to contribute to a league... 🤑

Wait! that was my dad who always had a couple hundred dollars to contribute to a league... 💰

Oh no! Wait a minute! I had to buy all my electric football players and bases. My dad had his own hobbies. I mowed a lot of lawns for $20. 💸

Love it! WOW! Your dad was generous!  I regret that I cannot find pictures from those days. I know we took many photos and I can't find them. They would be priceless. At that age the game believed in all of us as much as we loved and believed in it.

I have learned after playing in four respected leagues, that commitment is everything. All of the leagues have had reliable people who show up to play, even when we were younger, we all loved EF as much as each other. In this league I love my teams but have to let them go when next season is over. I worked hard to get them to where they are, but I will have to start over. The player bases of the 60's 70's and 80's cannot be replicated. We are to vote on the ITZ bases in March.

I brought respect to Dallas, New England, and Houston! If this new league I am proposing fails next year I will build my own league.

This makes me sad. I have 21 teams and I can't imagine giving any of them up. I know every player. I know plastic can't love me back, but I do love them. I plan to have my teams cremated with me! I wish there was some way you could keep your teams and could continue to build them.

That's interesting. Are you going to buy a few boxes of ITZ bases to see if you like tweaking them? Deciding which plastic formula you like best? If the HITZ bases perform better than your current bases?

After three years of working with ITZ bases I'm headed in the opposite direction, that is, I'm contemplating liquidating my ITZ bases.

I'll make a decision after I finish my current single-clip draft.

I am sad even though it sounds stupid, that I am losing all three teams I loved coaching, but we all knew they were not our teams from the beginning. It would take me some time to make a team like those three. O'C owns every team and its his collection. I personally love the older player bases and TTC, but I want to try the ITZ if they will make my teams superior, like yours. My goal is to win the title but I have a lot of work ahead. The best bet I think is New England. They are well balanced and I will have a better running game in 2024. The league is stacked with plastic quality. LOL! But, we have 12 who claim they will merge with the new league I am proposing, but some of the LIEFL coaches may call it quits. I am going for it all brother! Thanks for reading!

I am (33-43), but I lost a lot of really close games in three seasons. Love the league and more upset that I finally found a real deal organized league that has great competition. Sure, there are a couple of loudmouths, but they are good for the game and the other league I want to merge with would struggle, but it would really build the competition and make for an even bigger league that the LIEFL, just not sure it could be as organized. We will see ... rambling on here. Levi!
