a young Shelley Fabares as your opponent will certainly make things a helluva lot better

Even with Shelley's beautiful smile I couldn't help but notice the goal post is broke, the chain gang and down marker are lumped in the corner, and the sides of the game board are blank (no distinguishing printing).  There's something square in the middle of the field. What is that? What are the three square things on the side of the field?

Is this a re-enactment of the NY Jets winning the Super Bowl and the AFC fans are tearing down the goal posts?

Well obviously, I never got past the beautiful smile, LOL. Not sure where this photo came from or what the purpose of it was. Probably just a publicity photo. Someone else commented on Facebook: "She was in Clambake with Elvis who loved football. Coincidence? (Also note, those are the "gorilla" figures, precursors of the "Fab Five.")

The game board is a 1962/63 era Tudor model 600 "Sports Classic" It was a fiberboard field with "Iso-pad" technology. the field was held in place by metal clips and pieces of felt (iso-pads) - the three square things on the side of the field?. The scoreboard was metal and clipped onto the sides of the game board.

Looks like this game setup was just kind of hastily thrown together for the photo shoot.
