  1. Yeah, Sayers was awesome before he wrecked his knee.  Brings back more great memories.  Go Eagles!😊 Still think the Eagles'Kelly green uniforms with the double shoulder stripes and arm stripes were the best.  Never really liked the white helmets, though.  Always thought the Redskins yellow helmets looked weird, but that's just me.

  2. I didn't know there were blue Vikings. Are they blue because they still haven't won a Super Bowl? 🤣 I have seen some funky purple Vikings that looked more like a cranberry color though.  In fact I have some of the cranberry Vikings.

  3. Go Pack!  Some of the greats from yesteryear, as well as Willie Davis, Paul Hornung, Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thursten, Ray Nitschke, Bart Starr, and Willie Wood in the earlier picture.  Fond memories of watching them win back in the 60s.  Your old players look like they are still in pretty good shape!

  4. RCG, I play a solitaire league, so not sure how much this will help, but thought I'd pass it on anyway.  Maybe you can take some of it for your use.  I use a multi-stop system by running the board in about 3-second increments and adjusting all players at each stop to allow reaction to the ball/ball carrier, continuation of blocks, etc.  This also allows my receivers to run precise pass routes - 90 degree cuts for drags, outs, and ups, as well as sharp cuts for slants, posts, corners, Z's, and allows the defensive backs and linebackers to drop into coverage, react to the receiver's moves, etc.  Once a receiver is open after one of my 3-second stops, I then attempt the pass.  I have primary and secondary receivers designated for each pass play, so if the primary receiver is open, I have to throw to him.  If he is covered, I look for the secondary receiver and, if open, must throw to him.  If both of them are covered, then I can throw to any other open receiver.  After the pass is caught, i adjust everyone in reaction to the throw, other than the player who caught the ball (he is still concentrating on making the catch),. Then I proceed as normal from that point, stopping and adjusting players at 3-second intervals. I don;t worry about whether players are engaged, as I look at it as the defenders would still react to the ball/ball carrier, and the blockers would still try to maintain their blocks, so I adjust all players. Hope this helps.

  5. Capanther, Way to go Eagles.  I still think those Eagles uniforms were the best - Kelly green with shoulder and arm stripes!  That's how the Eagles in my league look too and Retzlaff and Brown are still starting along with McDonald, Baughan, Bednarik, etc..  I feel the same way you do about the old guys.  They've been entertaining me for 54 years.

  6. Yup! Fond memories of all 4 of those guys (still active in my league).  I became a Broncos fan while living in Denver for awhile. Go Broncos!  Also, have good memories of watching the AFL Chargers in the early years - especially Lance Alworth, Keith Lincoln, Paul Lowe, Dickie Post, Speedy Duncan, Ernie Ladd, Dick Harris, etc.

  7. Very nice.  Yeah, the red helmets with the spear on the side.  I think they switched to yellow helmets with the big R when Lombardi left the Packers and went to the Redskins.   I remember those guys - some of them are also still active in my league - Charley Taylor, Bobby Mitchell, Jerry Smith, Len Hauss, Sonny Jurgensen, Pat Richter, etc.

  8. Really nice.  As I've said before in response to one of your posts, it's really nice to see someone else who appreciates the old guys.  Your posts always bring back fond memories of some of my prior solitaire seasons.  I am also retired after 40 years working for the Defense Department and have more time to devote to my solitaire league now.  I have a mixture of guys from the 60s through the 90s on my teams (plenty of oldsters because I lean that way). 😊 Anyway, keep it up. I for one enjoy seeing the old guys!

  9. Just fyi, y'all.  I bought a laser level and now use it for first down determinations when measurements are necessary.  No Dave was right!  It works great and neither team can argue with the results (especially since I play in a solitaire league)! 😊

I lived in Denver for a time and have fond memories of Floyd Little and Rich Jackson, as well as Randy Gradishar, Paul Smith, Bill Thompson, Lionel Taylor, Haven Moses, Tom Jackson, etc., all of whom are active in my league.

  11. I've got both Bergey and Bednarik on my Eagles team.  Bergey starts at middle linebacker.  Bednarik actually played outside linebacker on defense for the real Eagles, including multiple all-pro years.  Bednarik starts at center and outside linebacker for my Eagles - the only 2-way player in my league!  Love the old guys!
