  1. Some fantastic teams in the NFC East of the Long Island Electric football 67 Big Man league. Let the wars begin!

Leading the way in the NFC East will be coach Ed Viggs 7-1 Washington Redskins. The Redskins were the only undefeated team in the Long Island Electric football league seven game season until they were upset by the Super Bowl champion Atlanta Falcons and notorious coach Johnny Freeport.

Coach Levi Vick's 5-3 Dallas Cowboys are locked and loaded and ready for the competition in the east.

Coach Joey Pizz 3-4 New York Giants vow to knock off the Redskins this year.

Let's see what Matt Zoo York's 2-5 Philadelphia Eagles will do with all that great talent in a brutal division.

The Quick and the Dead beat the Golden Grizzlies rather easily 46 to 29.

At Halftime the Owner, Manager, Head Coach, and water boy of the Quick and the Dead said, "I wasn't worried when the Golden Grizzlies brought up two rookies from the Practice Squad. If those two rookies are so good, why weren't they starting to begin with? I'll tell you. Grizzlies Rookie #37 finished the half with -12 yards and Grizzlies Rookie #32 finished the half with 3 yards (actually 53 yards). My defense is suppose to be afraid of that?! I'll tell you who I'd be afraid of. Our Halfback #23. Mr. Nail-in-the-Coffin had 108 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns in just the First Half. He'll double that in the Second Half. These Yahoos can't stop him!"

    Continuing game today.

Oh man check this run out.  I tried to see if the guy behind him got him, but i could always see the curl of the invisibase and so I don’t believe they touched.   That Dolphin guy hit the blocker to Partlow’s right and that causes his base to flinch with contact but it was not Partlow’s contact.  So I had to rule TD.

Lou Partlow now has 154 yds rushing and two Rushing TDs.

That's a big day for Lou

The Raiders were an AFC wildcard team in 2023 but they made lots of changes in the draft and Jack Tatum and Max Crosby are expected to deliver big and they put more Hubbard one of their originals back at fullback in the backfield to block for Bo Jackson. The Raiders are loaded as Dave Casper searching for the 10,000 yard mark which is Superior in any League.

Just noticed that when I talk into the phone obviously it doesn't always come out the way we intend. That was Marv Hubbard not more Hubbard lol

  5. The NFC North is a great competitive division just like all the rest of the divisions in this league.

The Green Bay Packers 4-4 coached by Ed Viggs have been the division champions for the past two seasons. Let's see what this coach can come up with this season.

Wait for the 2024 analytical season outlook coming in July for updates.

Coach Paddy Brannigan's Chicago Bears 5-4, will be knocking on the door to try to overtake the Packers for the division title in 2024. The Bears are loaded with talent but this division is stacked with great players.

The Minnesota Vikings coached by Joey Pizz finished 2-5 in 2023, but they have to change their offense while the defense is on the rise in the NFC.

Coach Johnny Freeport and his Detroit Lions finished 2-5 in 2023. For Freeport that is unacceptable and he's already trashing the coaches who play in this division. With Dexter Bussey handling the football the Lions will compete with everyone in the Long Island Electric football league.

I continue to use the stickers like I did when I was little.  I always liked keeping the players current.

I know We used to do that every year when we played our 14 game seasons but then decided it's time to make an all time best roster for each team but I do miss making the players current. We only have 11 men on each roster, each best of best version of an electric football team.

It works out either way because legends never die an electric football!

Not long ago I found a seller on eBay (canuck_parrothead) offering some hand painted college teams for sale. They were being displayed on a Tudor College Edition gameboard. Asked him if he could send me some pics of it.

Here's a link to an article by "The Unforgettable Buzz" about this game.

    Tudor's 1971 College Electric Football No. 600 Game (theunforgettablebuzz.com)

Here is a picture of it from the 1972 Tudor Sales Catalog

If one ever came up for sell on ebay, it would be very interesting to see what it would sell for.

I wish Tudor would bring back some of these old boards or at least one

Since Lee Payne was employed by Tudor when this game was designed in 1971, I am almost positive it was his decision what school names were chosen, the font and size of the type, and the placement of the names on the siderails.

Here is his profile from the Industrial Designers Society of America website.

US industrial designer who studied in 1953 at the University of Georgia and played on the freshman football team under Wallace Butts. He originally wanted to be an artist, but a lecture by Charles Eames convinced him industrial design was it, and so he went to the University of Cincinnati and received his degree there in 1958.

In the early 1960s, he worked for Walter Dorwin Teague's office in New York, where he worked on the AMF monorail exhibit at the 1964 World's Fair, projects for Federal Express, Tupperware, General Electric, and Tudor Games, for which he developed high-tech electric football and hockey games introduced in 1962.

From 1964 to 1968 he was employed by Tudor as director of product development and worked with the NFL to refine the electric football game players with realistic poses, trademarks, helmets, team colors and the actual numbers of real players.

In 1968 he established his own design firm, Lee Payne Associates (LPA), in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, and consulted with many clients. From 1976 to 1988, he chaired the industrial design department at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. While serving as chair he earned a master's degree in art history from Emory University. In 1981, he designed the original Smartmodem and chronograph for Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. that was featured in a book published by ID magazine, "Product Design-Award Winning Designs for the Home and Office." In 1983, he won an award in a Formica Corporation contest to show off its new ColorCore material with his Neopolitan ice cream coffee table, now in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. Other clients included Chiffon, Bosch Power Tools, IBM, Dow Chemical, Georgia Pacific, KitchenArt, Olan Mills and many others.

He also served on the design team for both the Atlanta (1996) and Salt Lake City (2002) Olympic games.

He moved to Jasper, GA in 1996 but continued to teach at Georgia Institute of Technology until his death in 2003.

I really enjoyed reading this Chris thank you for posting it. I've been really studying The forum with all the great things people talk about.

Of the many stadiums we have built which of course are our own vision, the main stadium is now has plexiglass behind the goal post. Used hot glue to hold the glass in.

Two Long Island Electric football stadiums that look very similar with the plexiglass the helmets and even the advertisements which we duplicated and now we're getting into field covers. Thank you so much for the input! We are all in a competition to better our stadiums but we use the cardboard which is foam and very sturdy.

OK Coach. Here are a couple of positive plays from the Skins back in their heyday. These two may (or may not) rank as the two greatest plays in Redskins franchise history, and it's stuff like this that I think draws people to EF football in the first place, lol. They were so significant in helping the team win such a big game, that I can tell you almost exactly the spot I was in when it happened. And like you say, there was a real father-son moment with the Riggins run as I was 8 at the time and can still remember the joy we both experienced. It was truly epic. Check it out:

    Riggins is the man!

His base will shift over to the Packers next year per the “real-life” offseason pick-up 😃

That is awesome! Because of all the work that goes into decaling that's the one thing we regret is that we can't change the players numbers because it would be way too much work to re decal.

I'm kind of old school and prefer the time when there were fullbacks and halfbacks and before the NFL turned into touch football... I generally like all my backs on fast bases and mix up my running plays between fullbacks and halfbacks ala Taylor and Hornung (Packers), Harris and Bleier (Steelers), Brown and Foreman (Vikings), Garrison and Hill (Cowboys), Hubbard and Davis (Raiders), Lincoln and Lowe (Chargers), Ameche and Moore (Baltimore Colts), etc. That being said there are teams where only one of the backs is really going to be the go to back - Ron Johnson (New York Giants), Tony Dorsett or Emmitt Smith (Dallas Cowboys,  Floyd LIttle (Denver Broncos, etc. (All my players are on single clip rookie bases.)

Most rushing yards in a season - Timmy Brown (Philadelphia Eagles -1,483 (running mate - Tom Woodeshick)

Best rushing average for a season - Paul Lowe (San Diego Chargers - 6.66 (running mate - Keith Lincoln)

Most rushing yards career - Larry Brown (Washington Redskins) - 3,043 (4 years) (running mates (Charlie Harraway, John Riggins)

Best rushing average  career - O. J. Simpson  (Buffalo Bills) - 6.22 (4 years) (running mate (Jim Braxton)

O.J. is probably my most dangerous back, although he suffers the same fate as O.J. did for most of his career (really bad teams)

Please note, these stats are all from my solitaire league over the course of 6 seasons played between 1966 and the present.  Some of the seasons stretched over many years due to college and my subsequent job that required a lot of travel. I played whenever I was home, which wasn't very frequently.   I'm retired now, so i'm getting more time to play, as I have an understanding wife.

Love the history thank you for sharing
