  1. @Long island EFL

Since my name @TOEPRO Football Kit was involved.

I will TELL YOU what I believe. 🤣😂🤣

I believe that ALL RULES of the NFL are possible on an electric field.
I believe that the fundamental law of football, if followed in order, gives you the basis from which all other gameplay mechanics are properly developed.
I believe that in a “true electric football game” the defense is given the same thing a real football game has:
    1. Before the snap: a legal formation…THAT ALL

    2. After the snap: ability to react.

I also believe that the game can be quickly, played to scale, holding EF Coaching responsibility paramount.  Just like the original game did.

Good luck with your league. Thanks for the mention.

    Sincerely,

    Kit Kinchen

  2. Using my basic knowledge of electronics.
check the following with a multi meter.
Set the meter to register VDC

    Turn on ac switch

Test output of converter for voltage, connect converter to the box (leave on)

Test box output to controller for voltage, connect controller (closed switch; speed dial to maximum)

Test box output to generator for voltage.

This will find the faulty component.👍🏾

  3. Coach, may I ask if you are going to play electric football by the electric football rules of that time also?

A lot of things were invented in that time to make the game better.  The fundamental gameplay was left in tact.

I found that the procedural gameplay mechanics of the “pre-1994” rules can meld with any rules of football.

So if you’re playing with just “teams and footballs”, enjoy.

  4. This is ONLY way you can achieve the TUSH PUSH in TOEPRO Football.  [Rule number in brackets]IMG_5932.thumb.jpeg.32351fd3cf983de33e0f5d19f26b47aa.jpeg
    1. Line up a TUSH PUSH legal formation with the QB under center on a standstill base, tailback in-line directly behind the quarterback, offensive lineman blocking at “0”.

    IMG_5934.thumb.jpeg.dc7b3cfc74104ef88c2d7d877ee4b87b.jpeg

    2. Without audible to any back, simply announce, “number of the quarterback, RUN”.  Hand over remote to defense.
    IMG_5933.thumb.jpeg.b2b20443ceec14b5c1f1e8455f5c96c9.jpeg

    The play is legal because:
    * The formation is legal [7-5-1]
    * The standstill QB does not go initially toward the line at the snap and if it did, it is exempt. [7-4-2. Exception a)].
    * The “un-audibled” tailback pushing the ineligible receiver “under center QB” [8-1-10 Exception)] is allowed in-line in a runner location and wasn’t an “audible” to create the push [12-1-4 (a)].
    * They can even audible a lineman because it’s blocking, not pushing [7-4-9].

    EF fair play doctrine:
The offense has a right to its formation and player movement from its SET position.
However, if ANY offensive player receives an audible, it MUST comply with football until the down ends.

    IT’S THAT SIMPLE

I’m not your offensive coordinator.  I’m the commissioner so simply understand the law, rules, rights, privileges and common things found in football and you will more likely find you can execute most plays.

If it’s good, it stands up to scrutiny.

TOEPRO Football is the EF-NFL rules merger that stands up to scrutiny because it is peer-reviewed.  Go through any provision of any EF rulebook and ask does it:

comply with the law of football

support NFL rules (max extent possible)

embody rights and privileges of football

    understand EF fair-play

    comports with common football

To test that theory, I’ll provide the 2024 TOEPRO Football Rulebook.  Find a provision in it and ask about it.

You think about competing, I think about competition.

  6. Inside TOEPRO Football

You find what you’re looking for.

Electric Football Leagues are always seeking rule changes to create real football competition.  The problem is EF rulebooks, since 1994 (Stats Arcade EF), tried to validate something that NEVER HAPPENS in football.  Defensive knowledge about something more than the offensive formation before the snap.

This was a violation of “THE FIRST LAW” of football-at the snap or kick.

If, circa 1993, I saw the game’s original scrimmage procedures (shown here), I would have made only a few changes in wording and as officials say in football, “play on Coach”.IMG_5462.thumb.jpeg.2f43ac78012b2268f94d884a8217da24.jpegIMG_5469.thumb.png.037145168896ae2a745dca161d45303e.png

That’s because the only “evolution” EF needed was attention to the passing game, not changing the first law to be “innovative” or “nuanced”.   IMG_5470.thumb.png.d5b70addef37dfc75703490983e9535b.pngIMG_5468.thumb.png.a42c92314a92a07b4d829582c29de33a.png

So simple that after I revised only a few words, I found it looked just like TOEPRO Football. IMG_5430.jpeg.42f73e3930d1cc43f94385d5c71a3712.jpeg

Get out of your comfort zone

It’s said that in order to grow, you have to be a little bit uncomfortable.

The proof that electric football scrimmages was played in a fashion were the defensive team was unaware of where the ball was going, is as old as its founding.  (See original rules). 👇IMG_5454.thumb.jpeg.f2a81d37460b30acedf73315a32af6f4.jpeg

We, at TOEPRO Football, expounded on this to include routes of receivers.  That made defensive teams really uncomfortable. IMG_5452.thumb.jpeg.7eb61464b5a6ad26d542b226f367c102.jpeg
    THE OFFENSE WILL REIGN SUPREME…

    NOT SO FAST THERE OFFENSE.

The offense now has to follow “every rule (to maximum extent possible) of the NFL” to advance the ball.  Now you’re uncomfortable because you’re limited by what you could do. IMG_5455.thumb.jpeg.ffc434439de5144ac27154c3145a7f62.jpeg

In addition TOEPRO Football made the offensive snap receiver move like the ball at the snap or kick.  That made offensive teams really uncomfortable. IMG_5453.thumb.jpeg.af804b0cf963aad77e705e28b2203434.jpeg

TOEPRO Football have zones just like the NFL and they are uncomfortably in place to protect the integrity of football.  A real EF coach gets outside their comfort zone to play EF with zones.

It’s really not hard to do.  Just zone in on TOEPRO Football.

    The Ultimate Board Game

Chess is a board game but the pieces don’t move simultaneously.  Electric Football does and if you play according to the laws, rules, rights and privileges of the NFL (TOEPRO Football), you will have the same things chess has. IMG_5425.thumb.jpeg.e79f0b70fb40bc03bf2871823ac4e02e.jpeg

    No matter your age:
👉The board is defined based on the ability of the players to cover it. IMG_5426.thumb.jpeg.936ad0f636da6be171838cce8b501850.jpeg
👉The true first formation (kickoff) is mandated but your strategy following it isn’t.
👉You don’t know what attack your opponent will make.
👉Your ELO-(rating) is based on talents (pass, punt; kick) and team execution, not wins-loses.IMG_5424.thumb.jpeg.08226e3a9e1fe161202fe66fc65f688f.jpeg
👉Any given day, the ball can bounce against your team.
👉Rules established by higher documentation (NFL Rulebook)IMG_5427.thumb.jpeg.1982b2efe711bc9acced5d57309ef5aa.jpeg
👉Leagues, Organizations and Teams follow them, accommodating beginners.

We at TOEPRO Football take seriously what we are doing with Electric Football.  We want to have the ultimate board game recognized the world over.  The question is do we want to play a serious board game or continue to play with our toys?

  9. @Terry43

The alignment is not indicative of the coverage.  It was a comment from a person who played.

A defensive team that knows the primary direction of players before the action starts  would be rightful to play “cover 0” in almost every situation.  A defensive team that doesn’t knows the what the play will be, will be less likely to employ cover 0 consistently.

  10. Compliments about TOEPRO Football
We're thinking maybe 25 to 30 (seconds to pass) would be better.... we did start the 20 seconds right at the snap.
DUDE............THESE RULES ARE A GAME CHANGER.
We started on his 35-yard line.
    Play 1 - RUN 2-yard gain,
    Play 2 - RUN 55-yard gain,
Play 3 - RUN no gain,
    Play 4 - PASS 1 yard gain,
    Play 5 - RUN 4-yard gain,
Play 6 (4th and goal) RUN 1 yard gain.... Defensive stop.
After just one possession I am sold. The pace of the game is fast and the defense definitely has to "cover" the field.  The "huddle" time period is quick, then the start of the 40 second play clock is right on time.
(Coach 2) sets up between 20 and 25 seconds leaving me that amount of time to adjust my defense.  In his one pass attempt he threw the ball with 5 seconds left on the pass clock....30 may be too much but 25 seems to be the middle grown.... or maybe there are pass levels....PRO 20 seconds, Novice 30........For coaches looking for fast game play I will be shocked if they don’t move to TOEPRO game play procedures.... you may have ruined other game play rules for me now LOL....

Well Coach. I tried to play with TOEPRO rules on small boards. First, we tried it on my old Tudor model 500 game board, the game still ran quicker and smoother, both of us got in an extra 10 plays per half. The kicking game was even more of a challenge. The only drawback on the smaller fields was room from sideline to sideline. Keeping the correct spacing was difficult. Then we played half a game on his Tudor ProBowl board. It was better than on the small board and because we were able to move quicker with setups, we picked up another 3 play each per half.  So, for the half we each picked up 13 more plays on this board and using TOEPRO rule set. TOEPRO gets an A+ grade from this coach and his 11-year-old son.

I'm slowly learning that the hundreds of formations are all variants of a much smaller number of specific types of formations, and that the formula for a play/scheme is the formation + the movement and actions of players + reacting to whatever the opponent does (something that's not always clear to non-football players - it never really occurred to me they were independent from one another). It's far less complicated than it first seems, and if you can set a T formation or an I formation, you can create dozens of different plays by just moving around tight ends and wide receivers. The challenge is knowing why one formation is better than another for rushing, passing or misdirection, and that's when you have to just study the playbook and realize that football is as much a mental game as it is a physical one.
    👍🏾
I hear there are people who say the offense has all the breaks since they get the last move... Unfortunately, I am not having that kind of luck. With the one base space between the players on the line, the defense gets through EVERY TIME and for the most part stuffs my run plays. I know the answer is supposed to be "down blocking" but how does one do that with rookie bases, and or if I can't seem to get my TTC to do the job? I have tweaked my bases as best an amateur can, and pretty much strength matched both my offense and defensive linemen. yet when I try to get a run through any of the inside holes, it's a NO GO! In my short time at it, I seem to have experienced the defense having all the luck (I think that's why I closed up the holes and played rugby as a kid.) Any suggestions from the pros?
    👍🏾
TOEPRO doesn't just teach you how to play electric football...it teaches you REAL football as well. Watching games this weekend, I'm seeing all kinds of penalties before the flags fly, things I've never noticed before, and that's just from reading the TOEPRO rulebook. It's a lot to take in, but it's worth referencing even if you're using your own ruleset. Thanks Kit Kinchen!
    👍🏾
Hello Coach. Yes. I actually got together with a buddy of mine who's getting into it also. He has never scored on me until we started using the TOEPRO system. We had a blast playing. He started getting really creative so it really challenged me on having to cover different areas of the field. It really feels like a chess match. Can't see myself playing the old way anymore. Now we are going to start incorporating the kicking game into it. Working on fine tuning my kickers.
    👍🏾
Why is TOEPRO football like real football?  The base width setup between your offensive linemen creates real football game action.  Watch this left tackle drive the defensive tackle clean out of the hole.  The left guard drives the linebacker clean out of the hole as well.  The running back takes advantage of this monster hole and scoots into the end zone.  The deep right safety was in decent position, but just a little too far right to make a TD saving tackle. This beats the old "Rugby Wedge" style any day.  Everybody likes to see a hole develop and a good running back dart thru the hole into the clear.
    👍🏾
This does look like real football and very enjoyable to watch. You never see a real football game with all 11 defensive players up on the LOS. I always enjoy Brandon's plays as well and his passing skills. The formations in TOEPRO make the game far more enjoyable as well. Nobody can line up and run a QB sneak every single play because of a superior interior O-Line. Skill, coaching, player placement and scheme become extremely important in TOEPRO as much as they factor in to the real game of football. There's nothing like watching a hole open up because of excellent blocking schemes from skilled position players with the RB hitting the hole for a big gain. Or a big hit applied from a safety being positioned to fill that gap just in case the hole opens up. Looks like REAL football. The full base line splits and 'no stacking' rules have done more to make the EF game more like the real game than any other rules I can think of. But I am sure I will be convinced of other rules that do the same. 😉
    👍🏾
This is typical TOEPRO Football. It looks like real football. You talk about real football strategies. Receivers run patterns down field. Offensive linemen have assignments. Defense covers zones and gaps. I just wish I had somebody to play against. TOEPRO is not a “solitaire” rule set. It is designed to play against another coach, particularly one that can appreciate electric football that employs the formations, plays, and strategies of real football. No loopers. No QB’s running up into the line from a 20-yard shotgun. No stationary this or that. Just football.
    👍🏾
Kit, a few years ago, I created a set of EF rules that suited how I wanted to play EF as I was not satisfied with any of the EF rules out there at the time.  It is a multi-stop format that incorporates what you called post snap manipulations.  However, a lot of my design philosophy shares some similarity with your own.  That's one of the things that I like about your TOEPRO design.  You have tackled the root problem with TOEPRO and I like how you have clearly identified what that root problem is.  Your words for it are perfect--the See-Fence.  When I devised my rules-set, I couldn't put my finger on what the root problem was, but that PERFECTLY encapsulates the main problems I was having with the rules at the time.  My solution was to incorporate a multi-stop format in an attempt to put more strategy back into the game. Your solution is much more elegant.  I really appreciate all the hard work you have done (and are doing) to bring your gameplay concepts to the EF community.  I hope through your efforts more people come to see the wisdom of the TOEPRO concept.
    👍🏾
I believe the one big selling point to the NFL by Mr. Sas, was the rule book he created. It's one thing to put the shield on the 50 and paint the players close to their real-life counterparts, it's quite another to implement rules patterned exactly after the real-life game. That being said, you can tell who knows the infrastructure of how the game is played, versus anyone who just wants to lineup 22 plastic figures and hope for the best…
…I had to think what the difference is between the TOEPRO guidelines and the way I use to play...the difference is that I actually have to think about what I'm doing, even with solitaire play. It's the thinking that sold me. Thanks, Commish!
    👍🏾
    My favorite compliment:
I can honestly say that the only people who don’t like TOEPRO Football never played it, would never try it and can’t really coach an EF team.
    😮👍🏾

  11. Hi all,

I can answer questions here also.

    😉

Having seen the picture and rules mentioning TOEPRO Football.  Here’s the synopsis.

The initial rules of electric football had references to any backfield player receiving the snap.

    CC9CAAFD-BEC6-48AC-A16F-FDF1998763B4.thumb.jpeg.83cc966207201b9cf129ab1c6ac1832a.jpeg

We may look at this going forward (with movement initially away from the line…as the football does; within the numerals).

    E5F27FDD-4137-40E0-9EBF-A90E914B2B46.thumb.jpeg.1336e50f994461607cbe3bc36f5796b0.jpeg

We, in modern football, see only snaps going within a narrow range.  This action was taken into account when creating the snap zone.

As it relates to downfield pitches, nothing prevents the offense from controlling the play-action remote following a catch to do it.  Just remember, a downfield tackle with the offense controlling the remote...

Thank you all for using TOEPRO Football to make it better.

Consider being consistent with football by:

Making a rule that the placement w/sticks MUST be inbounds when:

    a. the passer is in the pocket and

    b. an offensive eligible receiver is oven.

Failure to do so IS intentional grounding.  If the passer wishes to use a “longer lead stick” from an open receiver, fine.  The operative phrase is “realistic chance to catch the ball”.  By placing it inbounds from an offensive receiver you’re meeting the spirit of the rule.

No one maybe able to catch it but it complies with Rule 8, Sec 2, Art 1.

Actually to comport with football, the option to change to RUN/SCRAMBLE should be available when the play is paused.

“Cover sacks” skips the ability of the QB to pull it down and take off.  A sack may still occur if tackled behind the line but it’s a two-part process.

The latest EF rules glossed over so much detail about phases of a football play that it’s difficult to want real action without the real action.
    😂👍🏾
