Game 9
Bills 24 packers 21 overtime
This one looked like the packers were going to dominate but the bills scored late in the 2nd qt and trailed 14 to 7 at the half....the bills took the 2nd half kick and drove down and scored to tie it up at 14....both teams traded tds after that...the packers had a chance to win on the last play if regulation but missed a 38 yd fg.....the bills won in overtime on a 49 yd fg......great bills from the past include : 34 cookie gilcrist...32 oj simpson...12 joe Ferguson....66 billy shaw.. 79 ron mcdole....64 harry jacobs...and 58 mike stratton.....the packers were led by : 31 jim taylor...15 barr starr....42 john brockington...66 ray nitschke...87 willie davis....26 herb atterly...75 forrest gregg....and 57 ken bowman.....the bills will play the winner of the next game between the chargers and the patriots.

I remember when i was in my early 20s ...these two met in the super bowl....i was so excited that my rams had finally made it to the big game after so many years of losing to the vikings and the cowboys in the championship and winding up 1 game short of the super bowl.....the rams controlled the game till late ...but then bradshaw found stalworth down the middle and pulled it out for the steelers....great memories.

Jets 21 cowboys 13
One thing i have learned over the years is when matt snell has a good game...emerson boozer is going to be the star in the next game....snell scored 2 tds in the jets first round game....today boozer had 3tds and the jets move on to face the dolphins in the 3rd round.....great former jets include : 41 Snell...32 boozer...12 joe namath...67 dave herman...83 george sauer...13 don maynard....75 winston hill...and 66 randy rasmussen.....the cowboys were represented by : 35 Calvin hill...32 walt garrison...74 bob lilly...55 leroy jordan ...12 roger stauback...and 22 bob hayes....up next will be the packers vs the bills.

The cowboys had various shades of gray ...blue and silver...in the 60s and 70s.....i always preffered the blueish/silver of these ....i think they were one of the nicest teams tudor painted....my hog set and bigman set are identical in color....thats the reason i only have 9 bigmen....i have slowly picked up a few here and there....i could have a whole set of 11 with silver pants....but these ones that are what i call blueish/silver are much better looking in my opinion.

Dolphins 10 rams 6
The rams controlled the game until the last 3 plays....leading 6 to 3 ....the dolphins stopped gabriel on a 3rd down and the rams punted...griese connected on a short pass to jim mandwich and then found mercury morris on the last play of the game for a 61 yd td.....and the dolphins move on to face the winner of the cowboys and jets.....great former rams include: 18 roman gabriel...75 deacon jones....33 willie ellison....85 lamar lundy...76 rosey grier....34 less josephson and 74 merlin olsen....great former dolphins include : 12 bob griese....88 mandwich....22 morris....81 howard twilley ...75 manny fernandez ..42 paul warfield....and 39 larry czonka....next up is the jets vs the cowboys.

Chargers 21 oilers 16
This one had an exciting finish....the oilers had a 4th and 6 on their own 26 with only 4 plays left in the game and they were trailing 14 to 10...blanda hit charlie toler down the seam for a 74 yd score giving the oilers the lead 16 to 14 with only 3 plays left.....the chargers were trying to get into field goal range but john hadl found keith lincoln down the middle for a td and the chargers win 21 to 16......that completes the first round games....now the final 8 teams will meet to see who can continue to move on.....great players from the past include: 21 hadl....22 lincoln....23 paul lowe...19 lance alworth....77 ernie ladd and 74 ron mix for the chargers....the oilers were represented by : 16 blanda...44 toler...89 alvin reed....33 billy cannon....and 34 earl Campbell......up next will be the rams vs the dolphins.

Since its the packers and the bills....that would be a good snow game im sure.....yes.....interceptions can change the game in a hurry....the chiefs had 3rd and goal on the 5 when they had the first pic.....and were driving late in 3rd qt on the other...interceptions have only a 1 out of 6 chance the way i play...but the packers beat the odds twice this game.

Decided to play this one on what they call the gold endzone game....i found this one a few years ago and it had never been played on...the teams were still in the unopened bags....this game represented the first monday night football game ever played between the jets and the browns......now on to the game....this one was really closer and a much more even game that the score indicates....the big difference was the chiefs threw 2 interceptions that killed 2 nice drives.....jim taylor had a 74 yd td and carrol dale and bart starr hooked up on a 50 yd td pass for the packers....the packers move on to face the bills in the 2nd round.....outstanding players from the past include : 31 Taylor...15 starr....84 dale...75 forrest gregg....64 jerry kramer..87 willie davis.....26 herb atterly....and 66 ray nitschke for the packers.....great chiefs include : 16 len dawson....89 otis taylor...78 bobby bell...21 mike garrett....45 bobby holmes....63 willie lanier....and 55 ej holub......next up is an old AFL classic the chargers vs the oilers.

Snow game
Bills 21 browns 17
This was a good game....a snow storm hit buffalo for this one....the bills led 14 to 10 at the half and held on 21 to 17....lots of nice off tackle runs and id say that jim brown and oj simpson probably rushed for close to 150 yd each or better....both had 2 tds in the game.....great bills from the past include : 32 Simpson....34 cookie gilcrist....79 ron mcdole....82 paul costa....58 mike stratton....64 harry jacobs....66 billy shaw...and 25 haven moses.....great browns from the past include: 32 jim brown...44 leroy kelly....48 ernie green....16 bill nelson....72 gerry sherk ....76 lou groza....and 71 walter johnson.....up next is one my new tudor friend from england has looked forward to....the packers and the chiefs...a replay of super bowl 1.

Jets 24 broncos 7
I guess u know things are going good for your team when joe namath can scramble 47 yds ....this one was dominated by the jets ...matt snell had 2 rushing tds and emerson boozer had the other....floyd little caught a nice pass from steve tensi for the broncos only score. Outstanding players from the past include : 12 namath...41 snell....32 boozer....75 winston hill....61 bob talamani....66 randy rasmussen....13 don maynard and 67 dave herman for the jets.....great broncos include 44 little...13 tensi....87 rich jackson...88 al denson....55 pete duranko....63 bob Costa....and 57 tom jackson.....up next is a classic cold weather matchup between the browns and the bills....i might have to break out my new tudor snow board for this one.

Playing this great game of ours for over 50 years now....the fumble has always been something i would like to see once or twice a game but doesnt really happen with the way i play....i use dice to pass...punt and kick ( pat and fg )....it has worked well for me and greatly speeded up my games.....i guess after reading all of this i could maybe do a roll of the dice a couple times a game at certain times ( a play number at a set point.....i play 10 plays per quarter .....i know when i pass ...a roll of 1 is an interception...a 1 on extra point means no good......maybe 2 or 3 times a game....while the runner is moving i could stop the game...roll the dice and if a 1 comes up ...its a fumble...if not a 1 ...turn the game back on and continue the play.....to be fair i would just use this on say the 5th play of the 2nd and 4th qt....ok....i guess this post got me thinking about that....but anyway....good post guys.....and like someone said earlier.. Long as your having fun and enjoying this great game of ours...that is the main thing.....but im glad i read this....the fumble is always one thing that has kind of bothered me not having in my games.

Yes....at that time that was really big time news....we didnt have the espn and all the talking sports shows back then.... but even people who didnt follow sports probably couldnt go through their day without someone mentioning tom dempsey....when i was young we had about 4 channels on tv....abc...nbc.. cbs...and pbs....nbc covered the AFL that became AFC after the merger....cbs covered the NFC ....ABC was the talk of the town when it started producing monday night football....i watched the first monday night football game ever in 1970 when the browns played the jets in cleveland....

Cowboys 14 colts 6
Not a very exciting game ...kind of like when these 2 met in super bowl 5......they called that one the blunder bowl because of all the turnovers ...this one was not a good game for the bases because they changed direction a lot.....i might do a little practice run and just put widetops on all the players....the bigmen dont seem to be running well on the tweaked skill bases.....but anyway....calvin hill for the cowboys broke off 2 nice runs for scores...and raymond berry hooked up with earl morral for a nice pass play in the 2nd half.....great players from the past include : 35 hill....32 walt garrison...12 roger stauback...74 bob lilly...22 bob hayes....55 leroy jordan...54 chuck howley and 72 too tall jones for the cowboys.......the colts were represented by : 82 berry...19 john unitas.. 15 morral...32 mike curtis...78 bubba smith....87 roy jefferson....36 norm bulachi....and 89 gino marchetti......up next will be the jets vs the broncos in an old AFL matchup.

All i collect is original hogleg and bigmen ...i have played games against a hog team and a bm team.... .the record in the games was 3 -3....so it has balanced out....if u look at my d cowboys in the picture....9 are bm and the 2 tes ( 12 and 89 ) are hogs because i dont have the full 11 man big set...also my white jets set is 7 bm and 4 hoglegs....so normally i try to play hogs vs hogs and bm vs bm.....but even though the big men are in fact bigger.....u can play the 2 as far as my experience goes.

Rams 27 Raiders 21 ( overtime )
Great first game for the new tournament....the first half belonged to willie ellison of the rams and cliff branch of the raiders...the score was 14 to 14 at the half.....roman gabriel of the rams mainly handed the ball to ellison for most of the game but in the 5th play of overtime he found dick bass down the seam and the rams now move on to face the dolphins.....the raiders won the championship in the last tournament but they are one and done this time around.....great players represented include : 75 deacon jones..74 merlin olsen...76 rosey grier...85 lamar lundy....87 billy truax...34 les josephson.....18 gabriel...33 ellison...and 22 bass......for the rams........great raiders from yesterday include : 12 ken stabler...00 jim otto...35 hewert dixon....44 marv hubbard...25 fred biletnekof....83 ben davidson...78 art shell...63 gene upshaw...41 phil vilapiano....55 dan conners....and 21 branch......up next will be the colts vs the cowboys.

The tournament will start off with 2 of my favorite teams when i was growing up....the RAIDERS and the RAMS. it was always a treat in my youth when the 4 o'clock sunday game featured one of these 2 teams.....i figured i might as well get it over with and let them face off right off the bat and set the tone for the whole tourney....the winner will move on to face the dolphins and the loser will go back to the box until the next tourney.

Ive been doing some buying and trading the last month or two with some of my collector friends....my goal was to get all 9 of the old original tudor 1967 factory AFL teams again.....i achieved that goal and picked up a few more of the old NFL teams as well. Im going to play a 14 team tournament that will take 13 games to play. Unlike my 1969 hogleg collection that i have in both dark and white jerseys, many of my bigmen teams i only have in dark or white uniforms so if i have a matchup that really clashes i will just play the hoglegs for that game. A 14 team tournament has 2 first round byes....the dolphins and patriots were drawn out to get those byes. I'll be starting the tournament in the next couple of days and i think ill play this one on my big grass endzone 620 ( browns vs giants ) this was the game that was created by tudor in 1967 the first year tudor started making the NFL and AFL teams.

I have beem collecting 1967 bigmen teams again and want to play a tournament using them...i have collected the entire 9 team AFL ORIGINALS...plus i painted a set of custom w bengals to use too....i have 3 of the old NFL ORIGINAL bigmen teams....so i searched the online brackets for a 13 team bracket....it calls for 3 first round byes so i decided to let the 3 old NFL teams be the bye teams..it will take 12 games to play the entire tournament and the 2 teams that meet in the championship will play either 3 or 4 games..ill probably start this one around thanksgiving .

Thanks... There are so many good painters ...figure creators...and decal guys...but i wanted to make something that had the old style of the plain old originals ...but im truly amazed at the innovations and how the modern era has evolved in this great game of ours.

I go on the tudor site periodically to see what's new or looks interesting .....i saw the beenutt figures and bought a bag ...i took 5 of them...made a line then added 6 haiti repos and made a custom team that was painted in the old tudor factory style ....i painted them to look like what an old original tudor factory 1969 hogleg bengal set would look like ( because the old tudor didnt make bengals in 1967 bigmen ).. ..but i wanted a set that would match up against my original 1967 tudor AFL teams and not the smaller hogleg bengals...i think they keep the old tudor feel but add a twist..it's great hobby we all share and even an old original teams collector like me can take the new innovations of the great minds of the modern era of tudor and use them to fit into the by gone era of the old tudor.

Happy holidays to everyone.....well we are down to the final 4 and this tournament is dominated by the old AFL east teams.....the final 4 are ...jets vs dolphins and patriots vs bills......this was a good game....big jim nance from boston had a monster game with 3 tds.....great patriots from the past include : 35 nance...16 jim plunkett....34 ron sellers....30 carl garrett...73 john hannah and 72 larry eisenhower....the chargers were represented by: 19 lance alworth...23 paul lowe...22 keith lincoln...21 john hadle....77 ernie ladd....and 74 ron mix.....up next will be the jets vs the dolphins with the winner advancing to the championship.
