TEXAS @ AUBURN

Recommended Posts

Our next game will feature two 0-1 teams looking for a bounce back win, first year team Auburn and Seasoned vet Texas. Texas is coming off of a tough loss to Bama 31-21. Texas has to improve their rush defense if they look to win against Auburn who has possibly the fastest QB in the country and one of the fastest Backs. Auburn will also need to improve in the air and stopping the run as they will be playing a tackle breaker who will hit the hole fast. Texas is a 3.5 point favorite, O/U 55.5

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

TEXAS: TE Trevor McWilliams - 3 cat, 145 yds, 1 TD

AUBURN: EDGE Azaan Ochoa - 2 sack, 4 pres

Auburn gets the ball first as Texas elects to defer. A few big runs from Augustus puts them on the Texas 40 where Ian Banks finds Robbie Thornton behind the defense for an easy walk in TD pass. SCORE AU 7 TEX 0IMG_0039.thumb.jpeg.e3d282d7b327ce3dfc246dd6472f209a.jpeg

Texas receiving the ball with loud chanting from fans at home. Texas opens with a TE screen to Trevor McWilliams which goes for 20. Then a Run by Keith Walker goes for 10 but is called back for a holding. Texas still manages to convert on a 3 and 13 on a pass to RB Keith Walker out the backfield which he takes for a 50 yard gain. Texas is hit with yet another penalty this time a pass interference which costs them a TD and a loss of down. Texas will not be denied though, as QB Braden Trimble rifles a TD pass to TE Trevor McWilliams on a crossing route. Welcome back everyone, as we resume the game after the hiatus i first want to thank everyone for their patience, secondly let’s play some football.

With good field position Texas felt they weee in 4 down territory where they went for it and failed to convert giving Auburn the ball right before half , the only problem is Auburn is going to need to drive downfield backed up at their own 3 yards line. That’s no problem for QB Ian Banks as he slices and dices up the field on the Texas defense further showing why he was a 5 Star prospect and one of the most highly touted true freshmen. Auburn finished the drive with a beautiful pass right in front of CB Davion Ford who tried to jump the route, but it was perfect pass placement and WR Robbie Thornton is in for his second TD of the day WHAT A SHOW FOR BOTH THE TRUE FRESHMEN TODAY.

Texas getting the ball coming out of the half is driving down the field behind the arm of Braden Trimble, he completes a quick slant to his receiver and Pierce gets hit hard by LB Denzel Watkins forcing a fumble and Auburn S Davantae Scott. Texas defense keeps them alive though as they force a quick 3 and out, Caden Sacour ending the drive with a sack.

WHAT A GAME SO FAR! 2 insane defenses going at it. Texas was able to score off of the turnover on downs with a pass to Canon Scott who breaks his man on a quick release and makes a move on one of the best FS in the country Kamel Darrington to reach the end zone. The true freshman has 3 catches for 58 yards and a TD now.

ON TO OT. Edge rusher Caden Sacour is shutting things down and keeping Texas alive in this game as he sacks QB Ian Banks for a 3rd time today and forces overtime. These defenses continue to shine in overtime as Auburn forces a missed FG attempt on the first drive of overtime and then Texas gets an interception the next possession. After a longgggg game of defensive football, we have finally come to a conclusion after 2 overtime’s. Texas got the ball first in double OT and they immediately strike for 19 to get them to the 1 yards line, they then follow it up with a 1 yard TD run by Keith Walker giving them the 21-14 lead. Auburn trying to respond, Ian Banks drops back and has pressure… HE ESCAPES A SURE SACK IN THE ARMS OF THE DEFENDER, he runs up the sideline for 17. immediately after he throws a 3 yard TD pass to his TE Kolby Bryant to answer Texas. Auburn wasn’t done as they wanted to ice the game and go for 2. Ian banks quick 3 step drop and the same man he didn’t give a chance on the back shoulder fade earlier on 3rd down he gave a chance this time and it’s completed to his receiver Robbie Thornton. SCORE AU 22 TEX 21. Auburn(1-1) Texas(0-2)
