I know i’m not covering this game this week but man i wish i was. Alabama leads Texas at halftime 17-7 and it has been a fun one. First drive was all about how Alabama’s first ever QB change would go as Eddie Wright graduated last year and Caleb Leake would be taking over the reigns this year. he has not disappointed as in the first drive he threw a 65 yard bomb to Freshman WR Carter King for a TD. Currently Leake is 6/7, 176 yds, 2 TD, 1 car, 5 yds. Not too bad for a “Backup”(This is what my dad calls him to get under my skin😂). Texas fans on the other hand were worried about how well Sophmore QB Braden Trimble would be able to play after the 2 receivers with the most catches last year in the entire league left for the draft. Needless to say Trimble looks legit as he threw Texas’ only first half TD to SR receiver Ronnie Pryor. Trimble is currently 2/3, 42 yds, 1 TD and i’m sure Texas will continue to rely on the legs of RB Keith Walker who ended the first half with 4 carries, 31 yards.IMG_9207.thumb.jpeg.305bb8aa4349ff34c160d44c55923b9d.jpeg

It was a bad day in the office for the young Texas secondary in their 31-21 loss to the Tide. Freshman 5️ CB Davion Ford was targeted 3 times, allowed 3 catches for 94 yards and a TD. Sophomore CB Xavier Duffey coming off a great season allowed 1 catch on 1 target, 65 yards and a TD. I will say though after he allowed the big catch for a TD he locked down and wasn’t even targeted the rest of the game.
